My Bowl Korean BBQ

Google
Super fun ramen & street food. I was hoping for some bibimbap but content with the offerings. It’s fun and unique to build your own bowl and add your favorite toppings (like kimchi and an egg for a little extra, and lots of veggies for free). Will definitely come back. The beef dumplings and pork cutlet were also great. Super fun.

My dad and I went last night expecting Korean BBQ or at least fried chicken, but they apparently don’t have either anymore. Instead, they have a very robust ramen bar (which looked fantastic — we just weren’t feeling it yesterday) and a small but good menu of Korean street food, of which we tried a sampling. We got the potato-cheese-sausage corndog, which had a surprising funnel cake-like batter and light dusting of sugar, an overall delightful experience; kimchi pancakes, which were great; chicken bowl (tender chicken over rice) and fried chicken bites with fries, both of which were good and made even better with the various sauces and powders available on the ramen bar. I also had to get the raspberry-hibiscus boba tea with dragonfruit boba, which was also quite good. My only complaint: too much styrofoam! Even though we dined in, everything arrived in take-out containers. My heart hurts for the eco-waste of it all 😞 The service was excellent — friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I’d like to return to try the ramen bar and also pick from their small but whimsical grocery items. The decor is also smooth and artful, and I liked watching the KPop and Korean cinema on the TVs. I don’t know if they plan to bring back the BBQ and/or chicken, but gosh I hope so. Meantime, this is still a good find!

We had such a fun experience. The workers were so helpful and informative. The selection of food. Its a 10/10, both the ramen noodles and hot food.

My family and I had an amazing dining experience at My Bowl Korean BBQ, conveniently located just outside Scott Air Force Base. The food was incredible, we ordered a variety of dishes, including beef bibimbap, ramen, chicken wings, and bulgogi beef. As you can see from our photos, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals, finishing every last bite. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was spotless. We also appreciated the aisle of Asian snacks, which our kids loved browsing. We're already planning our next visit to try their all-you-can-eat BBQ. And as an added bonus, the restaurant location allows for a fun activity: our kids loved watching the airplane displays outside the base, which are accessible to everyone, not just military personnel. Highly recommend My Bowl Korean BBQ to everyone.

We took our 2 young kids and granddaughter there today. The kids had so much fun picking our their ramen and drink of choice. The staff was so welcoming and helpful.

Yelp
It was dreary out, so I searched Yelp for a nearby restaurant that served soup, and I was directed to a Korean place outside the Scott gate. I walked in and was overwhelmed by the sight of a large bookcase containing dozens of varieties of pre-packaged ramen. That wasn't the kind of soup I had in mind (because...pre-packaged ramen), but I thought I would give it a shot because I didn't feel like driving anywhere else. Apparently customized ramen is a cultural phenomenon that I was unaware of. The owners walked me through the process. You pick your ramen. You pick your toppings (meats and veggies). You take your "kit" to the ramen cooking machine and make your soup. I ended up being very happy with the results. The soup was tasty. The place was new and clean. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. Five stars.

Yelp
I will preface this by saying we have NOT tried the new iteration of this restaurant. We ate at My Bowl Korean a few times over the past few years, but hadn't been back in about 6-7 months. We were Extremely Disappointed to learn that back in July it was converted from a good Korean restaurant into a... ramen place. And not a good, freshly-made ramen place, they now have a wall or "library" of colorful, store-bought, plastic ramen packages and weird stations with futuristic coffee pots where you cook it. It's all very pretty and clean and, frankly, very South Korea-looking. They do have a lot of flavors and brands to choose from. When we showed up and looked visibly confused, we were given a quick tour and we decided against eating there. If I was a college student and this was my campus cafeteria add-on? Meh. I'm wondering if ramen is somehow a trendy thing that my Millennial self has missed? It's just not my thing and I'm still salty from the disappointment of learning the only reliable Korean BBQ within 40 miles is gone.

Yelp
Such a unique and fun spot! Getting to choose your ramen and toppings and make it all right there was such a good time! The owners were very friendly and everyone made sure we knew what we were doing which was helpful! The store is cute and fun and has a lot of unquestionably Korean flavors. Our ramen was really delicious! Parking is easy and there is a cute patio as well! A little pricy but worth the fun!

Yelp
Had a great time taking my boyfriend out for lunch for his birthday here during the work day! It's convenient for anyone who works on base nearby. Loved that they have free toppings too along with their paid ones. The people are very nice and the restaurant is clean, orderly, and even though there are tv screens playing Kpop music videos loudly, it wasn't so loud that you couldn't hold a convo. I'm looking forward to trying it for dinner with bbq soon!

Yelp
Called Ramen Library now, and hosts a huge assortment of ramen and special cookers for them. Delicious and fun to dine in! I was able to split my one bowl with my 2 kids and it was more than enough lol It's a tad pricey but I get it.

Yelp
This was our first time here, my granddaughter had seen the place on TikTok and wanted to try it. We drove an hour and a half to get here, and it was worth every minute of the drive! What a cool concept! You can choose any kind of ramen imaginable, very cool Korean desserts and drinks, the atmosphere is amazing and the owners were very involved, super friendly! We were not disappointed at all, and will definitely be back in the future!

Yelp
After spending a year in Korea, my husband was hankering for authentic Korean food. My Bowl didn't disappoint! We ordered off the menu, and everything we tried was delicious and fresh. I was happy to see the kimchi/pickles assortment served too! The soy garlic wings were divine. We also enjoyed the tteobokki, mandu, and bibimpap. Our server was very sweet! They also have a small grocery area that's well stocked with Korean classics!

Yelp
I've loved this place for years. I was in for lunch yesterday and incredibly was disappointed. Here's why: 1. Lunch specials are no longer available. 2. Banchan is now extra and must be ordered at the counter...but don't expect them to ask if you want it or suggest it. 3. Prices have gone up significantly. Yes, I know that it's the economy but what $20 bought yesterday looked a lot different than when I was there in March. Sad to say but I'm dropping these guys from my routine when I have to go to Scott. I actually used to arrange my day around having lunch there.

Yelp
We are so so happy to have a Korean spot so close to home! Ambiance is clean & the modern decor is a nice touch! Service was truly wonderful from the moment we walked in the door. They offer dine in & carry out service. We were pleasantly surprised every step of the way. All of our food was delicious. Hurry in, because they do run out of certain items on first-come basis. We cannot wait to come back and hopefully get some steam buns & kimchi pancakes.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing choices for ramen! Great atmosphere and the owners are super nice and friendly too, we had a great conversation!! Absolutely love this place and already can't wait to come back. Especially for the desserts!

Kimberly D.

Yelp
Check your receipts. I never tip on my card and I was charged over a 5 dollar tip without my consent. For a ramen place. No waiter. I'll never eat there again.

Yelp
Wow, what a find! We came by My Bowl Korea BBQ last week and were amazed at this authentic restaurant located near SAFB. We had a party of 6 and made sure to make reservations prior to arriving so that we could do the Korean BBQ (you can order a la carte as well). We chose the "classic" Korean BBQ. The service was excellent! Our waitress was so attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. She helped make our first batch of meat on the grill and even gave us tips on how to eat the Korean BBQ we made! I've been to many Korean BBQ places before and have never had this great of an experience (from both the taste of the food to the amazing service!). Of note, the Korean BBQ comes with a soup and our group tried both the Kimchi soup and the tteokboki. They were both delicious with a spice that complemented the dishes well! The side dishes were also great! Of note, there is a time limit of 1.5 hours for the Korean BBQ (not an issue at all for us, but something to be aware of). I can't wait to be back. Thanks for an amazing experience!

Yelp
First time here with my darling wife and it was a good experience. Held a table for 5:15 on a Friday evening. Very clean establishment with servers that are attentive and helpful. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. The kimchee was just the spice I enjoyed. Now there are a few reviewers that mentioned that this place is a little pricey but you have to keep in mind the banchan is unlimited and meat is not cheap. It was a nice relaxing dinner and a place I will go back to when the Korean bbq urge hits me. 11/3/23. Pics included.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! The wings are a must-try, but everything we had was delicious. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere made the experience even better. Highly recommend! !

Yelp
Very nice, staff was polite and very helpful. Food is very good. Ambience is great. I found it acceptable and comfortable. I will definitely try it again. Everything was good.

Yelp
This is such a friendly welcoming restaurant. Ordering is done at the counter as you walk in. Everything was explained to us in detail and it seemed like the host was enjoying talking about the food. And it sure is worth talking about. Korean dishes and served with pride . One of our party needed gf choices and the chef came out to make sure she understood what was needed and served it right up! Reasonably priced, fresh and delicious. My order was served with daikon, kimchi, chili sauce and two scrumptious dumplings. Located outside Scott AFB's west gate. No frill dining, but a real treat of out of the ordinary food served with pride.

Yelp
We went on a tuesday night, so we were one of two parties in the whole restaurant! It was quiet, and our server was very kind. He offered to help us get our food started, and was very knowledgeable on the different dishes and rules for the all you can eat. Constantly helping change our grill and ask if we needed any more food or refills. Overall a very enjoyable experience!

Yelp
I've been here several times throughout the years, and I am Korean myself. The food here is okay if you want something different from traditional American food and it does the job, but it's not truly Korean or authentic in my opinion. The kalbi here is extremely sweet and syrupy, and more similar to Hawaiian BBQ than a true kalbi marinade like how Korean people make it. I wasn't able to finish it. The kimchi stew was pretty flat, it felt like they just put kimchi and nothing else in the base that gives traditional kimchi stew the depth that I find in authentic Korean restaurants. There was a flatness in the other stews as well. The pork belly and the bibimbap is decent though because it's not complex to cook them, and I come by to get them when I don't want to travel too far for Korean. The small shop area has some popular Korean snacks and drinks that you can walk in and purchase. If you want more Korean food that really hits the spot, I recommend looking at other Korean restaurants in the area around the base and driving a bit further, or even going across the river for more options. The good thing about this place is that it's right off the base so you don't have to drive as far if you need a quick bite.

Yelp
Food service, good ambiance, friendly staff. They have karaoke Wednesday. Best place to dine in if you live on base scott AFB

Yelp
SO excited that they managed to open back up! It's more expensive than it used to be, but that's pretty understandable. And the upgrades they made to the interior are really nice. We were here with friends and shared the meat combo they offer, so folks could try a little of everything. All the food was really great, though the mandu were different from any I'd ever had before. Not my favorite, but that's just my opinion. The service was very friendly and helpful. I've heard people complaining about the prices, but I think it's well worth it, to have such high quality Korean food on THIS side of the river!

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at My Bowl Korean Barbecue restaurant. The food was delicious, especially the spicy ribeye. We were a party of five and opted for the all-you-can-eat option. We tried the Ramen beef and the Ramen with chicken. We also had a fried appetizer, whose name I can't recall. We absolutely loved it. I also enjoyed a pomegranate martini. The server was very polite and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this place. I'm thrilled that there is a Korean barbecue restaurant in the O'Fallon-Belleville-Shiloh area, right outside the base. Typically, I would have to go to St. Charles for Korean barbecue, so this is very convenient for me. I also had the opportunity to speak with the owners, who are a very lovely couple. The restaurant had a casual atmosphere, but I felt that I could also dress up and go there. I love that they have a mini store in the front.

Yelp
This place is fantastic ! Authentic Korean in the metro east and this place will beat anything in St Louis. Family Veteran owned. I had pork bibimap bowl which was a pure delight replete with crispy rice on the bottom Ordering is at the front counter, seating is spacious, and KPop on the big screens. Quick friendly service and they serve a table top BBQ after 4pm Wednesday thru Saturday which I can't wait to try. Reservations available.

Jackie C.

Yelp
Service very good Quite a large menu to select from I had Bibimbap tofu in hot sizzling bowl. More food than one can eat so plan to share. My husband had the pork fried rice with egg..it too is large serving Wee bit pricy but you do not go away hungry

Yelp
I had been waiting for this place to re-open. Drove past the closed for repairs sign a couple years. I was super excited to see that it had finally opened. My husband always says the best Korean food is near a military post gate. I believe the owners are different now. We still decided to give it a chance. The guy at the counter was nice and the menu was simple. We ordered our food and went to Constance seat in the dining room. It was spacious and clean. The usual Kpop videos were playing on the screens. My spicy ramen was delicious. I could have used more broth though. My friend loved her ribs. There were 2 fried dumplings included with each entree. I don't remember what they are called but they should definitely be on the menu. The attendant checked on us and was overall helpful. I had to get the hubby a beef bulgogi to go and he said even reheated it was good. I'll be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Top 10 experience customer service was fire. The food was fire. They can definitely be looking for me to come again my new Korean barbecue spot !

Yelp
The food was very good. That said, it was very difficult to order/understand menu. What wasn't difficult to understand was that they are extremely overpriced! Especially considering their very inconvenient location.

Yelp
This review is purely about the food as the staff was friendly and it's a beautiful restaurant inside. Im Korean and was super excited to see the big my bowl Korean food sign when arriving here at Scott. However, I was extremely disappointed as the food was not good. I ordered a Spicy bulgogi meal and a couple of other things. But I'm most angry about the spicy bulgogi!! As soon as you open the bento you get an overwhelming scent of broccoli. I am Korean and I never had big chunks of broccoli in my bulgogi! Seems to be a filler so it looks like you get more. It lacked flavor, had no spice, oily, an overwhelming sesame oil flavor and tasted like reheated meat that's been microwaved. The jap chae tasted old and reheated with no flavor. The cucumber kimchi was eh. The rice was the best thing on the plate. The kimchi in the to go cup smelled and tasted like it turned bad. (I'm a kimchi lover and I make my own kimchi) so I'm not just hating. Kimchi pancake was burnt and barely had any kimchi in it, just dough. I asked for crispy and it was burnt. The Pictures should match the food on the website but don't. Chicken cilantro soup online shows soondubu soup so I thought they just called it the wrong name. $17 for 8 pieces of boiled mandu in egg water. Bibimbap portions of veggie/meat and rice was off. It was basically a veggie and meat bowl with barely any rice. The quality of the veggies and meat was good but the portions are way off. With the right portions, it could be good. I tried calling multiple times just to get a refund on the Spicy bulgogi but no one answered. I really wanted to like this place as a fellow Korean and veteran but nothing I ordered tasted good and now I'm out $100. The service was good, super friendly staff/owners and a nice ambiance inside but I would not eat here again.

Yelp
Great, authentic Korean food with friendly service! While it's a little out of the way (right outside the gate at Scott Air Force base), and has some odd hours (be sure to check before you make the drive), the food is excellent and it's a great experience, if you love Korean food, or if you just want to try it for the first time. Bulgogi, Bibimbap, and even the option to cook your food yourself, right at the table! I love this place, and their upgrades to modernize the interior, and provide more options, are well received. Don't miss out on trying new things! Kimchee and other assorted, pickled and/or cured sides are flavorful and worth a try (or, if you are like me, you ask for more). Get out there and give this place a try - you won't be disappointed!

Cynthia Y.

Yelp
Great food and wonderful service. Truly enjoyed how helpful the wait staff was, since I was from out of town and had not eaten there before. Sides were as delicious as the meats on the all you can eat bbq.
google avatar

Alexander E.

Yelp
Nice quick stop to get Korean BBQ. I got the beef bulgogi lunch special, which ran $18 after tip. Food came fast, and both the beef and pot stickers tasted good. My only problem is that there should've been more food for the price I paid. It's been 30 minutes and I'm already hungry again. *insert sad face*

Ammar A.

Yelp
Amazing food and service as well as a one of a kind place to enjoy food, also is amazing at valorant.

Yelp
My Bowl Korean BBQ has reopened. I had not eaten at the original place so I can't compare. I can say that the reopened version is top notch. The remodeled interior is gorgeous. Very sleek and comfortable. Each table has a Korean BBQ burner built into the table. We were with a group so we're able to sample most of the menu. It was all excellent. The servers are very attentive. Food comes out of the kitchen quickly and the servers know their stuff. This is a family operation and it really shows. I highly recommend My Bowl.

Yelp
The meat is really good the waiter was fantastic and the veggie fried rice was delicious

Yelp
This restaurant has amazing service and wonderful staff. We had Celeste as our server who was super friendly and made our experience very enjoyable. When I called the restaurant to figure out wait times they were busy initially but the owner went above and beyond to call me back and answer my question which I've never had happen before. Everything tasted wonderful and overall we would definitely go again.
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
So glad that this place is finally back open. It was well worth the wait. We went for the soft opening. That night they were just trying out the Korean bbq side of menu and it did not disappoint. We got the premium menu which includes LA ribs and ribeye beside the bulgogi meat. The sides that they bring out are amazing. There was nothing I didn't like. My must have picks though are the kimchi pancakes and corn. Could not get enough of it. The meat you cook at your table and you can cook to your liking. It was all so tender and flavorful. We had a wonderful server. He was very knowledgeable and always checking on to make sure we didn't need anything else. As well the other servers in the restaurant would check on us as well. It was refreshing to have all the staff do that and not just our server. This is a place you can't miss once they open!!

Katalina B.

Yelp
Great casual ambiance with excellent service. I ordered the beef bulgogi, which was tasty. It came with rice and several refillable veggies as sides. My fave was the cabbage kimchi, which I got seconds of. They have a spiciness scoring, which I guess is not all that hot if you're accustomed to eating spicy food. I chose level 2, just in case. I eat spicy food on the regular and love Thai and Indian cuisine. So you can keep that in mind for the spice index. My son got ramen, which he said was just okay. The prices were a little bit high, but I don't mind paying to patronize a veteran-owned small business.

Warren D.

Yelp
Mixed feelings about this place. Pros: food is delicious (lunch menu), came out quick during rush at lunch, customer service was excellent, facility was very clean. Cons: The food is over priced, I am sure there is some cost associated with inflation, but I feel like a majority of it comes from the fact that this is the only decent Korean food nearby base. I feel like the lunch menu could be dropped to at most $10/$11 per item and be fair, but $15 at lunch is a bit much.

Carol Y.

Yelp
BRING YOUR WALLET!! This place is super EXPENSIVE and not worth a penny of it!! The food is very bland and there's certainly not fifteen dollars worth of it in the bowl! Two bowls with NO DRINKS cost almost $34.00!!!!
google avatar

Tj N.

Yelp
A bit expensive, but quick service with good food. I'd definitely go here again. Their ramen is solid on a rainy day.

Thomas S.

Yelp
Outstanding food. I hab the Beef Bulgogi and my wife had the Veggie Bibimbop. I was full when I left and the meals were delicious. Good sized servings. The Bulgogi was made with Ribeye. Meals included a drink and 2 Yakima Mandu. Just the right amount of spice. I also had Kimchi. Delish. Give it a try.

Tiffany P.

Yelp
Food is not worth the price at all. $25 for a bowl of beef bulgolgi which is 90% rice. Dry and does not taste very authentic either.

Deirdre T.

Yelp
My Bowl is back and better than ever. Excellent Korean food. The tofu bibimbap is delicious. The ramen also is great. Many tasty appetizers to choose from.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Great service during lunch time. Food is 9 out of 10 due to no free refills of bulgogi. A real family ran and relaxing atmosphere.

Madison B.

Yelp
Went for a late lunch and ordered chicken bulgogi. I was delighted to find that it came with two fried dumplings, and a drink as well, which I wasn't expecting. The food portions were reasonable, and the flavors were good. The chicken was cooked so perfectly that I was very surprised, most of the time restaurant chicken is over, cooked and tough, but this was moist and perfectly tender. I ordered level 1 spice and was glad I hadn't gone higher, it was just enough to be comfortable (I like medium low level of spice)

Yelp
We came in on a Friday evening, big fans of Korean food. It's a little out of the way for some people, which I get why the hours are funky and they likely accommodate the airbase population. Walking in you wouldn't notice that it's actually a Korean bbq place. The ventilation is fantastic and you don't leave smelling heavily of burnt meat. The sides are all amazing (we went through 2 servings of kimchi and got one to go). We ordered the small combo, getting the pork belly first. For the most part the food was really good, but the portion size is a little small. I also like Korean bbq with some lettuce, which I had to ask for, barely getting 4 pieces. I also had to ask for rice, which was a first for me at any Asian restaurant. I finally got the rice as we were finished. The price is about what we expected, we'll gladly return. I was stationed in Korea for 2 years, and this place is legit. Anyone who's never been to Korea or hasn't actually had good Korean food should keep that in mind if they think they can review this place. The service will get better I'm sure.
google avatar

Angel T.

Yelp
Great service and fresh food. Very organized and clean! Awesome team and food was out quick! Should try this restaurant. Live music and Korean BBQ

Roberts H.

Yelp
I spent 4 years in Korea, this is not Korean food, portions and flavor are horrible. You are overcharging for all your food and I look forward to the day you go out of business. You had 4 workers in the whole place, you ask for tips.... I know you are not paying everyone correctly to include the cooks. If your tips are so high, how much of that are you using for the workers? You had 1 kid bringing out food to a table for customers to pick up.....why are we giving a tip when it cost me 27 bucks for ramen noodles and some cheap mini rolls? Your meal in Korea would cost me 6 bucks not the $32 I spent. Waiting on the day to see a closed sign on your door, wouldn't be surprised if you go to jail for fraud as much as you like ripping people off.
