"The novel approach features a tabletop half hot pot/half griddle, which allows for a simultaneously cooked combo order. A full-size hot pot can be ordered as well. Most interesting among the hot pot flavors is milk beef, featuring a creamy broth base." - Jim Thurman

Family and I walked in, it was empty except for two people sitting in a far desk talking to each other. I thought they were customers at first so I didn't pay much attention to them. Waited for a bit until we decided to poke our head in the kitchen and get the staff's attention. He yelled at the other guy at the table for something, forgot what and then realized it was staff too. The two staff talking at the table didn't even know we were here. Anyway... You order from a tablet and it has English and Chinese. Small selection of items, but I thought most of the portions were decent. Big plate of bean thread noodles and the thick noodles. The napa cabbage weren't cut into smaller pieces and I had to break them up into small pieces by hand. They really should cut them into quarters at least because each leaf was too big. Beef slices could be cut into smaller slices too. Bone broth soup was good. I ordered spinach as well and after about five or ten mins of already eating, they told us they ran out of spinach. Like really? The staff talking to each other could've gone out to buy some at least, but no they were busy talking and doing their online math homework instead to bother helping. This isn't a college study and homework session place. The beef balls and cheese fish balls were too small portion. Booth seat was not as comfortable. Back rest too far from table and you kind of just slide off the edge. The service honestly kind of killed the experience. This place also offers noodle dishes and half grill and half hot pot option. There is also a sauce bar. The "sand tea" sauce made me chuckle. It's supposed to be Taiwanese shacha/satay sauce. This place was more Chinese than Taiwanese.

This is a Taiwanese style hot pot and grill restaurant. Inside they have 2 six person seated table. 4 of four seated table and 8 of two seated table. It's not very big but cozy. They have a self serve sauce station which included: chili oil - chili - garlic - green onion - garlic soy paste - soybean paste - Japanese soy sauce - Chinese soy sauce. We ordered seafood hot pot with grill and side order. The beef is already marinated for you. They gave you a good portion of food. The soup was good! Waitress were very friendly.

May 2023 - No wait for a party of 3 around 5pm on a Friday. Food/Pricing - The meat was great quality but everything else was just okay. There were missing pictures from about half of the self ordering menu and no descriptions. The 'Green Vegetables' came in an oily sauce and fully cooked. The hotpot noodles were smaller than anticipated. Service/Ambiance - The sauce containers and some plates weren't cleaned well. Some sauces and condiments were completely mislabeled. Service was lukewarm and a little slow. It's a fairly new place so they're probably still figuring things out. Parking - There's a small parking lot in the back and street parking.

Google
Nice cozy family owned restaurant. They have different food selections aside from hotpot. I would recommend their specialty "Liu-Zhou” screw vermicelli. They also have great to-go lunch menu, spicy rice noodles is one of their most popular orders. This spot is a gem for foodies!! I would tell everyone to give it a try especially on the days you don't want to wait in line. Customer service is friendly and usually let you enjoy your meal with minimal interruption.

Decent hot pot and really good marinated beef. Im highly recommended fermented tofu if you can handle :)

Google
Meat just tastes better grilled but I love soup with my meals, so this is the perfect lunch/dinner spot for me. The 1/2 hot pot/grill option only includes the broth so I'd add a basket of veges and a plate of lamb. Voila! My perfect meal that I have to myself and whatever I don't finish, I can take home.

This is a newly opened restaurant. We provide traditional Chinese hot pot, small pot, one pot for one person. There are two different kinds of pots here, one is traditional, one is the 2-in-1 pot that you can enjoy grill and hot pot at the same time. We also provide six different kinds of soup bases that you can choose. During soft open, 20% off for lunch and 10% off for dinner, until Dec 31, 2022.

Yelp
01/20/2024 Driving by this place seems to have my interest. Almost directly across the street from Momo Paradise and around the corner is Shabu Lin. Huge competitors in the area among others. On the Yelp app, I can add myself to the waitlist. When I got here, the app shows that there is a party ahead of me. I don't see anyone around. There were two women talking with what appears to be the workers and paying their bill at the counter. Some of these reviews are suspicious and about a year ago. Photos show a photo for Grand Opening so you've been open for a while. When everyone arrived, we head inside. I read another review that there is a sauce station with bowls and spoons there too. We are shown a booth that could seat six with three electric burners. The table is still dirty as shown in one of my photos. We order on the tablets available at the table. Then we wait...and wait...and wait...guess what? We waited some more. We finally were able to talk to one of the guys that brought a rack he put next to the table for the food they are going to bring. We told him the table is still dirty, could you get a rag or something to wipe it again. He brought over antibacterial wipes. Also in one of my photos. I read in another review that the portions were huge and a lot of food. I am wondering how much they paid because what we ordered, two of the combos, another bone broth pot, noodles, mushrooms, Napa cabbage, and another order of meat which was lamb. 3-4 slices come in an order for the meat. One had 5 slices. A big bowl of cabbage and containers of mushrooms. Where's the noodles? Is rice separate? The sauce station were empty and bottles were mislabeled. The hoisin sauce was close to empty so I got the Korean BBQ sauce which taste just like hoisin sauce. As we were trying to figure out how to pay, the guy was nice enough to allow us to review the screen so we could ask him to take off the noodles we never got. This was a different table. He walked over to see what number table we were at to pull up the order, again, we remove noodles we never received from this order. Remove another meat we did not receive. They guy was trying to tell us they were short staffed and still working things out. You've been open for a year now, what have you been doing? Avoid this place if you want service. Avoid this place if you want clean tables. Avoid this place if you want good sauces. Avoid this place if you thought you were getting huge portions. Avoid this place if you don't want to wait forever to receive any food items. Avoid this place because the communication was next to nothing. I wish we paid nothing. I could understand if you took over this place middle of the year but after a few weeks or a month, there should be a system in place. Health department needs to pay them a visit. Business owner, please comment here. Please...

Yelp
I would say that this place was perfectly fine. I've been to similar places where not only was there a lot more choices but it was also AYCE. Just to be clear, this place is not AYCE. My whole table got one of the combos so there were a lot of plates of food started coming at us at once which proved to be hard because of the limited table space but we made it work. I think the meat and veg selection was ok enough for the price but I would've preferred to have more of one thing over another. This is the benefit of going to an AYCE place: it's not because of the amount of food you can eat but more that you can customize what meats and veg you'd prefer to eat of more. Other things to note is that the sauce station was a little small and the pace at which the food came out was a little random. As for the service, it was great! She was super attentive and having tablets to be able to to order and see the menu was convenient. The only issue that arose was when more people started come in and the restaurant was starting to fill up. This was hard for the server because she was literally the only person working the front of the house. In summary, I'd come back if I happened to be in the area and my other hot pot place was full or closed. In fact this is the only reason why my party ended up here in the first place. I wouldn't make a special trip out of coming here. If you already live in the city, then sure! It'll be good.

Yelp
Tried the Liuzhou river snails rice noodle spot. Major disappointment. Red book app hype didn't match reality--didn't even meet basic restaurant standards. Wouldn't recommend; it's off my list for good. Service not good at all.

Yelp
Very good broth and good food. Although it is pricier than AYCE hot pot - it was much quieter, quaint, and the broth was especially delicious (the mild-spicy is perfectly spicy!). Had the ribeye, pork belly, veggies, quail eggs, and a few other sides ... I enjoyed the sauces out on the side and the free milk tea they give you instead of water... hehe... I did feel like I spent more than I would have liked, but I also didn't leave feeling bloated, but full and satisfied. I would definitely come here again... These people are trying to get their business going and they are working on their customer service, it's clear.

Yelp
The 3 of us arrived around 6pm on a recent Tuesday night, and we were the only customers for about 1.5 hour. My friends and I each got a grill and shabu pot for ourselves. For about $6.99-9.99, we picked the tomato, spicy, and bone broth. All the other items are a la cart. We decided to share beef rib eyes, pork belly, veggie combo, mushrooms, fish tofu, tofu bean curd and fish balls. They also have a sauce and chopped onion station with sanitizer wipes available. I really like the option of cooking in the hot broth or the grill. My friends and I agreed that the beef definitely tasted better grilled with a bit of char, and the rest of the items are as delicious dipping into the shabu. More customers came around 730-8p, but it was no problem for us to chat a bit after we eat. The parking is in the back shared with Share Tea and an ice cream place. I feel not as many people know Grill n Pot, since it's literally right across the street from Momo Paradise. But this is a good option if you don't want AYCE in the same area.

Yelp
Once you get used to their ordering process and understand that there is a sauce station in the corner (that was not explained to us) everything was great! That station is also where you can get spoons/ladles. Food quality was good. Portions are good. 1. Mild-spicy soup base is really spicy!! It came with a layer of chilli oil on top. I had to scoop it all out. 2. They don't serve alcohol and won't let you bring you

Kelly S.

Yelp
Came here to try the liuzhou rice noodles so this review is limited to that, not their hotpot items. The noodle was tasty, especially with the chili oil, although some might not think it's the most authentic version. There are plenty of toppings and the bowl was quite filling. I like my noodle soup steaming hot and thought it could be improved a bit. They do have an induction stove on the table for hotpot and keeping your bowl warm. I just didn't want to wait while the noodle is soaking in the soup already. An an entry level 螺蛳粉 fan, it was still a very decent lunch.

Yelp
The ambiance and decor are too cute-resembles Taiwan lavender field cottages. Super cute signs and sayings on the walls. Color scheme perfect. Bathroom decent. Service and staff nice. You can go and fill your own sauces. Seats or booths are spacious. However the overall square footage is super duper small. Street entrance with back parking. Menu has rice noodle and hotpot variety. Prices run a little steep considering the portions. There are only a few strips of meat per plate but there are huge fat portions that swallow up the lean portion! Veggies are only a few leaves but you're charged more than one veggie bundle at Chinese market! Hotpot choices are a little lacking too. Soup bases taste good though. So would give four stars if not for the limited menu and food portions.

Yelp
Well, made reservations & got here at 3:30pm. We timed it perfect, after lunch rush & before the dinner rush. Party of 4. Sorry no before pics due to hangry teens, photos of during and after. We were treated so well, awesome service, smiling Ms. H was so cute. Everything we ordered was fresh & very tasty. We got 1 mild spicy, 1 seafood & 2 extreme spicy. Lamb, ribeye steak, pork belly, baby squid (awesome), shrimp dumplings for the soup, glass noodles, mushrooms & almost all the veggies & rice. Their special sauce is to die for. Great service & smiles for their customers! I'm so happy we found this place. Best Hotpot, look no further, we'll be back for the food & wonderful customer service. We loved the half hotpot & grill combo, can't go wrong at this wonderful restaurant. Thank you so much! Beware of my stalker Vic Conklin!

Yelp
Came here around 8pm, completely closed. Hours on Yelp and Google map shows closing at 11pm. Yelp says current wait time is less than 5 minutes. If you arent opened, please update your hours as it is inconvenient, disappointing, and a waste of time.

Mari J.

Yelp
This is a nice restaurant if you want to have hot pot and grilled meat. They have online waitlist that is convenient if it's a busy dinner time. We ordered dinner special with 2 kind of meats pork and beef served thinly sliced and 2 kinds of vegetables (chef's choice) and 3 pieces of meat balls. It includes rice and winter melon ice tea. They also have sauce station that has ample variation from peanut sauce, mushrooms sauce, hoisin, spicy Korean spices. The service is good. The restaurant has street parking and parking in the back. Over all good experience

Yelp
Honestly don't know where to start... it was really really really bad. Wednesday night... came based on yelp rating .... (Just what the actual F is happening here ? ) Entered the restaurant, there was someone doing some kind of setup for music and tiny stage with speakers and Christmas lighting happening.... Ok Manager or employee, wasn't sure. The guy's voice sounded like he smokes 10 packs a day. He was nice but also didn't seem to know what's going on. We were sat randomly and then were given a tablet to order... (seems like the systems from the old owners or previous are still in place). I noticed the restaurant seemed alittle messy, alittle dirty, charging the tablets for ordering was taking up an end booth... there were a few others customers it seemed. We ordered on the tablet... it seemed kinda weird. We hoped for the best. That's when it got weird.... A group of 4 who was already sat there, one of them started a zoom video call... sounded like he was trying to sell something or whatever... his friends (2 ladies) were just chatting on while next to him. His zoom call finished, we continued to wait for our food. Then, the music audio setup started, and ...this random man starts saying "check check check" for about 4-5 mins, no joke, it kept going. We received our hot pots, and the guy kept checking the audio.... And 2-3 items from our food order. Someone was prepping lots of vege/lettuce and meat for one of the tables. The audio setup finished... And then people start filtering in to the restaurant. The people all joined the previous group of 4. They appear to all know each other, and while we tried to eat... they all sat on their phones waiting, maybe 7-9 total now? The guy serving the food from the kitchen didn't know what any of the food was and was giving us the wrong orders. We ordered 3 raw eggs for the dipping sauce, they had none and he gave me 1 cooked stew egg. The sliced beef and lamb combo ? .. They gave us cut up beef pot roast meat. By this time we just gave up and cooked what we had and tried to eat. After 15 mins of eating/cooking we still had no veg, I had to ask again for basic Napa cabbage (at a hot pot place ?) the other prepped food for the other large group was not for us. We were finally given a bowl of Napa. We just wanted to finish the food and leave. The music system started playing Chinese music, the crowd got more loud, the large group of 9 customers started going into the kitchen and hanging out, helping to prep food ? They proceeded to hang in the staff area but obviously were not staff. It seems like a huge health code violation... We tried our best to finish and get the check. The "manager" didn't know how to print us a bill, he took a picture of his pay tablet... when he took my card to swipe, he didn't know how to finish the transaction. Just sooooo many red flags. To summarize: Who actually works here ? Who's the wait staff ? The meat was cut at random sizes, the wrong orders given, messy, random people going in and out of kitchen, chaos of customers raiding the kitchen, loud setup of audio, dirty/empty sauce station. Don't go to this place. If you want hot pot in Arcadia go across the street to "momo paradise" I would give ZERO stars if I could. I'll be reporting them to the la county health dept. I'm in shock that place is operating.

Kris L.

Yelp
The restaurant is nice and cozy. Had great friendly service. Food was good. Price was reasonable for the sets.

Ying A.

Yelp
This restaurant mainly serves hot pot and grill. But since we saw some indigenous food on the menu, we decided to try them out. The owner said their rice noodles are very authentic, and they didn't disappoint us. The noodles taste so good. It's a weeknight and the owner kept checking in with us and she is very friendly. It'd be nicer if the broth was hot, but since there are induction range built in on the table, you may heat it up if you think the broth is not hot enough.

Eve L.

Yelp
I was craving for hot pot and found this new place. The service is great, they were very attentive and nice. Love the concept of having both the hot pot and grill. Will definitely come back with my kids. Veggies were fresh and meat was good. They also gave us free milk tea which was perfect to complement our diner. Glad we found this place.

Becky Y.

Yelp
Found this place totally by accident. I want to keep this place to myself, but they also deserve more attention. I didn't make a reservation to a nearby restaurant and my friends and I were HANGRY. Grill n Pot didn't have a lot of reviews, but I wanted hot pot and k bbq, and this was literally across the street from where we already were. It was empty when we walked in, which can be kind of a bad sign, but the owner (I think) seated us and explained the menu. You can choose to do just hot pot, or do the split and get half hot pot, half grill. We all opted for the half and half. From there, you pick a broth and things you want for it. Everything is a la carte. The first time I went, we definitely ordered too much food. I think each person got about a plate of veggies, 3 plates of meat, and an extra (like tofu). We finished all that food out of pure will power. It was so good. I think on average, I would normally do one plate of meat with the veggies, and maybe an extra if I was craving it. At worst, if you didn't order extra, you can always order more. It's a little slow getting everything, but I think they prep everything when you order it, which is worth the wait imo. Honestly, once they bring everything out, you most likely won't need help unless you need water. They usually come around to give extra broth. They have sauces off to the side. There's a cabinet below the sauces that has spoons and sauce bowl/plates. I guess depending on how much you order, this place can be pricey, but I think for the portions and quality, it's well worth it. It's really not that expensive either. I would recommend going with someone you can split some of the items with, cuz it can be a lot. Overall, I really like this place, and I look forward to going back.

Richelle H.

Yelp
This place is good but they just did not have the right spicy dipping sauce like the one in Arcadia. My girlfriend loves it here so I will be back. At least it is a good spot to go back too.

Johnson D.

Yelp
Saw this new hotpot place on yelp and decided to give it a try. Decided to give 3 stars due to many reasons. For starters the soy sauce had multiple gnats floating inside. Clearly not checked often. Workers did not come check up on us while eating, the pot literally had no more soup while other places would ask if we would like more soup. Meat portions not bad but for 2 people it was $80 and we did not order much and that was with the 10% off. Would probably come back when it's more established.

Marcus L.

Yelp
Very interesting concept of bbq and shabu in an individual serving. The meat quality was very good and the portions were great. The soup bases were good and selection was good also. Really good place for a few friends to hang out and share meat and veggie plates. Grand opening special, 10 percent off. Worth a try

Nicole S.

Yelp
This is a Scam. This place is closed but they still list it as open on Door dash. I ordered something on door dash and I went to pick up my order when it tells me it was done. By the time I got there this store was closed. I called, a lady picked up the call and told me they are closed but someone is inside can make the order for me. Another old lady came and open the door and starting cooking and she brought the food out, I said it's for to go as I said the first place, she starting to complaint why I made it so complicated. I was mad at the moment when she said that, first they lied about their hours, second when they made a mistake they blamed on someone. I contacted the door dash to report the store as well. Hopefully this store will be closing forever. DO NOT fall for the Scam.

Timothy N.

Yelp
Food was ok but the wait and service was terrible. Took over 45mins after we ordered to start getting food. There's 12-15 tables in the restaurant but the servers ignored my calls to them and my raised hand for 10 minutes and i finally had to walk over to get their attention for more hot water which they said was coming... it never came. Now their pots are burned at the bottom. We ordered over $125 worth of food for 3 people. Shouldn't be ignored like this. Avoid unless you feel like having a frustrating experience.

Yelp

Yelp
Affordable and very accommodating crew.. the soup are good.. nice place.. HotpotSet Combo

Yelp
This restaurant is a hazard. My dining companion and I sat at a booth. First, the ceiling/vent was leaking water. Halfway through dinner, the vent was turned on and it started raining on us. There was also no AC. They offered us free green milk teas for being rained on... which tasted like chocolate milk, though we appreciated the gesture. Second, the shelves they put next to our table to hold our hotpot ingredients took up the entire walkway. So the person sitting at the booth can't get out. All four dining parties seated at the booths on our side could not get out--the fire marshal would have a field day. Third, the meat comes on a rack with legs which cannot be placed on the shelf they put by our tables because it would fall through... LOL. See attached photo. I watched the server painstakingly try before putting it on the table. Common sense seems to be lacking. Fourth, I ordered the bone broth was a clear broth. When I asked for my broth to be refilled, they filled it with a creamy garlicky bone broth. I questioned the server and they said that they made two kinds of bone broth... even though there was only one kind on the menu. Seems like they were just as confused as we were, and made up a random answer.

Sam B.

Yelp
We had an amazing time tonight! Four of us, all 25-year-olds, stopped by on our way to Big Bear for the weekend. Despite the language barrier with the staff, they went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible experience with hot pot. The service was excellent, and the warmth of a family business added to the friendly ambiance. Surprisingly, we received complimentary beer and chicken from the manager. Can't praise this place enough - definitely worth checking out!

Yaxin L.

Yelp
The food tests very delicious and beautiful. The manager and staff member are very patient. The environment is very clean and quiet. My friend and I very like it.We will come again next time.

Len K.

Yelp
Talk about best of both worlds. My partner loves KBBQ, and I love soup. AND, we love spice. So this place has checked off all the boxes. They also have a sauce a bar! I can't ask for anything more. Lastly, the waitress noticed we were sweating up a storm and gave us milk teas on the house! Great food and a considerate staff? What are you waiting for?! This place is great!!

Rudy L.

Yelp
We love it here the tomato base soup very delicious, very clean restaurant, and great customer service! Just take a little time for the food to come out, but definitely worth the little wait.. We'll definitely come back again...

Chelsea C.

Yelp
Saw it on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Totally new restaurant opened only for two weeks. We ordered ribeye and lamb, the portion and meat quality is good. Will come back again!

Abel P.

Yelp
This place has 4 stars for the food but reason to give only one is for the lack of service. The younger waitresses attitude will make you lose appetites. She slams ipad ordering menu and the hill to the table! The customers go to the restaurant not to receive your attitude, young lady! If owner could see this message, she is not cut for this job.

ZZ C.

Yelp
We came here during the soft opening. Unlike boiling point, here you can select you own soup base and items individually. Love the tomato soup, very flavorful! They also have a very good selection of sauces. Staff are all very friendly too! I'll definitely come back!

Amer S.

Yelp
Really high quality food and at a great price. The service was really attentive and made the experience very enjoyable. The restaurants vibe is chill.

Kelly Q.

Yelp
Nice and elegant ambiance. I cannot find anywhere else that beat the price for hot pot and barbecue. Taste amazing and you could make your own sauce. Owner are nice and friendly.

Jenny H.

Yelp
The worst service!!!! Made a reservation for 7:15pm, they told me they don't have a table and to wait 30 mins. They were extremely rude! Never coming back to this place!

Anthony C.

Yelp
Walked in and it was nearly empty, which we said it's perfect where we can talk and eat food and not feel rushed. They sat us down and our server explained how to order online and with pictures. That was great! We placed our order online and started to prepared our food. Our waitress also expanded the seasoning area which we grabbed a few bowls to try things. I did like that we could control the heating temp for our broth per person. Food came out little by little to give us time to cook and enjoy everything. When we were ready to check out, they made sure we received everything we had ordered before accepting our payment. It's a cute place and close to home, we would definitely come back when friends come over.

lina G.

Yelp
This hot pot barbecue is integrated, and I recommend barbecue. The meat is very large, and the service is very fast. Several little girls are very nice. There is a certain point of mutton shoulder meat, which is crispy and fragrant when baked.

Raymond L.

Yelp
I think this place might be new because there's a discount: 20% for lunch and 10% for dinner (which is super clutch). The owner was really nice and gave us free milk tea. It's pretty cool how they have a half grill half pot type thingy they give you. The broth was really good and the meat wasn't bad. I'd come back again. They're understaffed too so if you speak Chinese and need a job you should hit them up!

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
The food was great! The service was great and the ambiance was very cozy. Will be back :) and thankfully they were open the day after Christmas!

Brandon H.

Yelp
Standard type of hotpot. No specialty note. Choose your own soup and add your own items

Irving A.

Yelp
Great place! Very helpful with understanding the menu. Very nice owners. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Nice hotpot,New restaurant. Owner so nice! Beef is pretty good! Parking easy, but not too much space, you need go to early

My boyfriend and I currently went there for dinner. Overall for food is it is pretty good! Service keep in mind she is one person and can only do so much. So please be patient! The owner who is the server is such a hard-working lady. Ambiance it is pretty nice. I would totally come back to satisfy my cravings.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 8 pm on Valentine's Day (Tuesday 02/14/23) through Yelp. Went to the restaurant on time for the reservation and it was completely closed. I tried to call the phone number and noone answered. We're lucky that there are so many other good hot pot places in close proximity, because this place was a total fail.

Yelp
家门口新开的火锅,正适合这个天气,昨天去试一下,感觉不错,干净,明亮,配菜丰富,汤底味道浓郁,量足。 价格才21一个人。 赞 不足: 停车需要绕道后面。 下次还会再来。

Yelp
I love hot pot and eat it regularly. However, this twist on being able to also grill was GREAT!!! I'm a vegetarian, so the fact that there were mushrooms, veggies, and tofu was an added bonus. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
This is my favorite hotpot place in the area, and there's a lot of competition in SGV! The service is efficient and friendly, and you can order via your smartphone too. All of the ingredients are fresh and yummy. The yam noodles are super Q (chewy) and the meat portions are good. Come here to support an awesome family-owned business!

Yelp
This is my first time trying hot pot, it can I tell you... amazing! This is a new spot and it's a must go. The food was fresh and simply delicious. The service was great. We did have a little issue with language barrier--but nothing there service and food couldn't remedy. It's a wonderful place to visit!

Yelp
Good quality hotpot ingredients for a great price! Very chill vibe and no line, which is great when you want hotpot without the hassle. I would recommend the set combo which comes with a small plate of meat, and a basket of fish balls and veggies. Reminds me of the no fuss hotpot places in Taiwan.
