Went in person this time on a Saturday evening. Walking up to the restaurant, the smells of garlic, holy basil, and chilies wafted towards us.
We were greeted immediately and told to choose where we wanted to sit. It was fairly crowded, so we opted for the small 2-person table. The patio was perfect as it was pleasantly cool. The tiny orchid blossoms on the tables were adorbs, and it was nice to have many plants adorning the patio.
Our waiter gave us some water and the menus, gave us a few minutes to decide, and complimented our choices when we ordered. My drink arrived quickly, as well as some lemon slices for the water. It did not take more than 10 minutes for our first appetizer to appear, quickly followed by our 2nd appetizer and soup, and a side of prik nam pla (thai chillies in fish sauce, highly recommended if you love spice). Our waters were refilled several times.
We ordered:
Thai tea, 6/5, this is my favorite thai tea of anywhere I've had it in the last 2 years. The tea flavor is strong, just a touch bitter, balanced with sweetness and cream.
Thai toast 5/5, still my fave and so so good with some of the prik nam pla
Chicken Satay 5/5, juicy, slightly chared goodness
Tom Kha with shrimp 5/5, we ordered it medium spicy, and that's about my limit of spicy, but that broth!!! So tasty with just a touch of sweetness to play off the sour spiciness.
Spicy eggplant 5/5, Flash stir fried succulent eggplant and crisp bell peppers in that luscious sauce. Its gonna be fire when i eat the leftovers with some rice tomorrow.
Spicy fried rice with crispy pork 5/5, i love thai spicy fried rice, and as a Filipino, i love me some crispy pork
Crispy banana roll 3/5, The fresh berries were delicious, and the rolls were crispy with a sweet syrup drizzled on them, but the rolls were more coconut than banana.
