"This charming family-run shop serves Penang asam laksa, Nyonya laksa and fried spring rolls. The light and refreshing red soup of the signature asam laksa strikes the right balance of sour and spicy and is nicely topped off with mint and pineapple. The spring rolls, stuffed with vegetable filling, taste equally good." - Michelin Inspector

I would rate this one of the Best Assam laksa n Nyonya laksa in Penang. Nyonya laksa is even much better than the one in Jonker street Melaka. Fried spring roll are very good too. Very specialised cafe only the 3 items available. Father son team is very friendly. Each bowl is made individually fresh on the spot after ordering so that's some time They deserves the Michelin Guide. Bravo. Must try if U are in Penang.

10/10!! We love that they only have three items on the menu - we tried all three and were blown away (managed to grab the last bowl of Lemak laksa of the day!) The flavours were amazing and the portion sizes just perfect. The family who run it are so friendly and welcoming - thanks for an incredible experience!

My family and I were CRAVING for their Penang laksa after trying them once. The noodles were nice and chewy, laksa broth is so thick and flavourful. The fried popiah was also really nice - the owner recommended us to dip the popiah in our laksa broth, the taste was 🔥 🔥 Definitely adding this place into our list of must-eat when we’re in Penang!

I came back here for the 2nd time and boy was my craving satisfied. I think the second picture says it all. Burp!! You need to pair the assam laksa with the fried spring rolls. Ps. Thanks Evans for recommending Tiger Char Kuey Teow which is a short walk away. I was delightfully surprised.

Absolutely superb laksa and spring rolls. We had the choice of Asaam or Coconut Laksa and ordered one of each. Both tasted incredible. Look no further for authentic Penang Laksa. The family were so friendly and welcoming. A delightful experience all round.

Although the laksa is delicious but to be honest the Michelin laksa taste didn't surprise me so much, since Penang got a lot delicious laksa, but the popiah did really surprising me, it is the best match to consume with the laksa soup, must order !

The restaurant is specialised in Laksa and spring roll. Both taste really good. I believe they have put lime juicy in Laksa such that it tastes more refreshing. Spring rolls are well prepared and very crispy. Lastly the lime drinks is also excellent!

They are very specialized. They only have assam laksa on most days. Nyonya laksa is only available on Friday. That's it. There are are no other choices. The good thing is, it does make decision making so much simpler. You don't have to agonize over what ifs. For their side dish, you have one and only one choice. Fried spring roll. PSA : the spring rolls are advised to be dipped into the laksa sauce. Hence they don't actually provide any other sauce for their spring rolls. There in comes the hiccup, they didn't tell us about it and the spring rolls came early. But the time the laksa arrived, we already finished half of it. The good news is that we can therefore compare the taste of the spring roll in it's original form and the dipped version. Oh well, a little heads up would've been nice though. Coming to the laksa, the first thing that struck me was the lightness in its flavour and aroma. Most Assam laksa in penang is heavy in flavour but here, it has a well balanced not over the top flavours. This is not to say that it's tasteless, far from it, it's actually delicate for laksa but flavour punch is still there. Loved the small pieces of fish meat, cucumber, pineapple, mint and ginger flower. They don't include chillies unless you ask for it, so the spiciness is partially controlled by you. Meanwhile, I found the laksa noodle itself incredible. Smooth, shiny and soft. Perfectly made. The only mistake was forgetting to ask for the fermented shrimp paste. This particular paste is important for a taste kick. It slipped my mind but I was a bit sad that they didn't offer it. Offering it or putting a small sample on the table should've been second nature for those that accidentally forget. I still feel exasperated at this blunder. Anyhow, it was generally a clean tasty filling meal and a good choice for laksa. But beware that they don't have any other options.

Yelp
One of the best meals we had in our two weeks in Southeast Asia. You think it's one cafe, but it actually seems like a series of vendors under one roof. We paid three or four different people, one for each item. We had the assam laksa and char kway teow. Being our first exposure to each, we weren't sure what to expect. But the laksa was deliciously spicy and sour with big thick noodles, fresh cucumber, red onions and even some mint leaves. I had the char kway teow because it had one spicy pepper icon (compared to another item that had two). It was a really nice stir-fry with shrimp and bean sprouts. It was pretty greasy, but oh so good, and just the right amount of spice for me. There was a fried banana vendor ("Bro-nanas") there who was so enthusiastic about her dish, we had to try it. Deep-fried banana covered in chocolate sauce isn't something I would normally think of ordering, but we were glad we did. The banana melts until it's barely solid inside the fried shell. This was totally delicious. For drinks, we had carrot-apple-orange juice which was very healthy, but felt a little overpriced compared to the how little the food cost. It was a total of 33 ringgit for everything, or about $8.00 US.
