If I could give half stars, I'd give it a 3.5. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the garlic lovers tofu and a Thai iced tea. The food came out quickly. Everything was not bad but just okay. The heart-shaped rice is cute. The garlic lovers tofu was garlicky enough but the garlic and chili flakes were the only strong flavours in the gravy-like sauce. The cabbage and onions seemed very fresh though. I thought the "hot" was more like what I'd consider a medium spice level, and I might try the "Thai hot" next time. To be fair, I got the garlic lovers dish because I wanted to try something different, but it's not the usual kind of thing I get at Thai restaurants, so it’s possible I would have been more impressed if I’d just ordered something different.

Went to My Thai Downtown with my girlfriend for dinner and it was excellent! The food was freshly prepared with high quality ingredients and nicely seasoned - it was delicious. Service was outstanding. We really enjoyed our meal and will be back soon. Thanks to the great staff operating the restaurant.

As a new freshman at IUB, I was overwhelmed by all the food options near campus. After a 20-minute walk from my dorm to down a street packed with restaurants serving Chinese, Indian, Burmese, and more, I chose My Thai Downtown for my first meal out and I’m glad I did. Even with other guests already there, the wait time was super short, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. I ordered fried rice with beef and a small tom yum soup with shrimp, and my boyfriend got crispy chicken with ginger and jasmine rice. The food was so good I could cry, and the huge water cups were a surprisingly nice touch. We sat on the deck with a nice breeze, and the total was $43.17 (plus cash tip). Overall, this was a perfect first dining experience in Bloomington and I would recommend this place to anyone here. :)

First time ordering. Online ordering very easy, notification sent via text when ready for pick-up. Food hot & fresh. Red curry with beef ordered 3 and yellow curry with chicken ordered 2. Pad Thai noodles with chicken and pepper steak ordered 0. Won ton soup 0. Pad Thai came up a 1 & rest as 0. Little disappointed that there wasn't more spice. Portions good and surprise that wonton soup had chicken added. Cost was almost $100 with tax & tip.

Great gluten free options. Staff is knowledgeable about allergies and was happy to accommodate. Curries are gf, fried rice (and other options) can be made gluten free upon request. We usually go to the other location, but stopped by here because of hours. Delicious! We love My Thai! Great to know about another location!

I love eating at My Thai Downtown! The food is great. I personally love the pad thai, pad kee mow, and Thai iced tea. The service is always fast and efficient; perfect for carry out and lunch. The restaurant has lots of outdoor patio seating for guests to enjoy during the warmer months. The staff at My Thai Downtown are some of the kindest people you will meet. They are so friendly and welcoming; they genuinely make you feel like family when you are there.

One of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been. Food was authentic and delicious. Spices are perfect for the food and portions are ample. Far superior to high end restaurants in the big cities. Highly recommended.

If you're a fan of Thai cuisine, then My Tai Downtown is the place to go on IU campus. The food is absolutely delicious, and they are more than willing to accommodate any changes or requests you may have for your dish. Nye, person who waited our table, was incredibly patient and made sure our food was prepared exactly the way we wanted it. Not only was the food satisfying, but it also had an amazing taste. I highly recommend giving My Tai Downtown a try if you're in the mood for some tasty Thai food.

If I could rate this place one million stars out of 5 I would. My boyfriend and I are on a mission to try all the places on 4th street before graduation and why this is my first time coming to My Thai, I don't know. I have dreams about the broth from the beef and broccoli and my boyfriend won't stop talking about his soup. Nicest ladies working/ service was perfect. Music was quiet so me and my boyfriend could still talk... and the only reason I even know there was music was because the food was so good we stopped talking until our meals were done. Will be back ASAP

Had an awesome experience here. Food was delicious. Don't hesitate to try. Came in 15 mins before they closed after lunch and they assured us it was ok. Great customer service! We would certainly back when visiting.

I stopped by for late lunch/early dinner on Saturday, and boy am I glad that I did. Wow. I absolutely loved the Thai Curry Noodle with Shrimp. Excellent flavor and close to perfect. I also enjoyed greatly the steamed dumplings. The food exceeded my expectations, for sure. The service was "so so". I'll be back, and I highly recommend if you like good Thai curry.

First off the location is great-on the corner and easily accessible. Second-the food-OMG! I did not know what I was missing out on with crab Rangoon-I had only ever had the rubbery, no crab in sight Rangoon. THIS was anything but! It is an absolute work of art, arranged beautifully and cooked to perfection. It was so light, crispy and actually had crab! You could SEE it AND taste it! Hands down-best Crab Rangoon on the planet! The edges are crispy and perfect for dipping in the sauce that it comes with-delish! The main entrees were equally as good-my husband said he dreamed of his dish later. Everything came out super hot, fresh and the best Thai we have ever had. The portions were giant, was able to get two meals out of one although I wanted to devour the entire thing all at once. The restaurant itself was super cute, it's an old house remodeled and I love the ambiance!

Three of us came here and got different dishes. All three of us agreed that the meat was chewy and the food came out cold. We all got mild spice, but the food was not flavorful. Decent service, nothing special. None of us finished our dishes because it just wasn't worth it. Overall mid experience

We love Thai food and this restaurant had a really nice outdoor patio, so we decided to try it out. There were 3 of us and the food for all was pretty bad. My dish was probably the worst. It was a noodle dish and had zero flavor to it. I tried a little of it, but pretty much left the whole plate untouched, that's how bad it was. My husband ordered medium spicy Thai fried rice and it had no heat at all. The third dish was very salty.

A personal favorite but will no longer return. My Thai used to be one of my college go-to restaurants and it was fantastic to fill up on the drunken noodles or all the beautiful flavors of the spicy red curry with a heart shaped mound of rice. Our initial waitress was very kind and checked in on us multiple times. However, we had maybe been 30 minutes into our meal and another waitress told us she needed our table because there was a big wait of people even though they had been waiting maybe 5-10 minutes. It was incredibly rude as we had still been eating our meal and there was a huge party who was there longer using multiple tables next to us. Additionally, before I could say that I was still finishing my meal she took my plate away. All I can say is I will no longer recommend this restaurant or return after this service.

The absolute BEST thai food in Bloomington!! Pad Puk is my go-to order at any thai restaurant, and My Thai's was the most delicious I've ever had! The presentation was adorable (look at that heart!) and the service was awesome. They were fast and patient with our large group! Highly recommend if you're in the area :)

The Thai sweet chilli chicken is unbelievable but the Satay wasn't very flavorful but thankfully the peanut sauce complemented it very nicely. Will definitely return

My Thai is a cute place, my group just thought the food was bland and the crab rangoons were not very good. I got the red mango curry, the mango is not fresh, it was either from a can or frozen, it was very flavorless and has a weird texture.

Delicious! Chicken was thinly sliced & very tender. Loved the wide rice noodles for something a little different. Sauce was perfect. Noodles weren't drowning in sauce, but there was plenty of it. My husband had the curry with pork and said it was very good. We will definitely be back for more.

I got seated right away. I sat on the patio and it had a beautiful ambiance. Good music playing & a lot of outdoor seating. The service was quick & they workers were very friendly. I got the spring rolls as an appetizer and the drunken noodles with pork. It was delicious. I wish I was hungrier because I wanted to eat more! I came by myself but this would also be a perfect date night spot. They also have a few tables that seat 6 people.

Yellow Curry 6.8/10 (yellow curry paste with white onions, potatoes, and carrots in coconut milk) trying to step out of my comfort zone and not get Pad Thai. This smelled delicious and I was very excited to try. It was much thinner than I thought, I was expecting more of a buttered chicken consistency. The potatoes were kinda odd to eat with rice and they were massive (carrots massive too). Semi successful first experience, I'd probably not get this one again but I would definitely try a different kind.

Incredible food. Their pad thai is the best and they have authentic spicy options! I come here nearly every weekend.

Very good appetizers, served quickly and when weather permits the outside provides a great spot to eat and drink a good cold beer. The fried rice is very good.

First time guest. Myself and a guest came in for lunch. With campus closing for winter break the restaurant was extremely slow. As the only guests I expected the service to be quick. Unfortunately not the case. The food was reasonably priced and the portions were large. I would come back but it it isn't my favorite Thai in Bloomington.

For Thai food in Bloomington, you can't go wrong with My Thai Café (any of them) - this location is on 4th street in a great location. It's near downtown, has great food, and is a quaint little house/building with plenty of room and great food and service! I had my usual - drunken man's friend rice with double chicken. I always go with the hottest on-menu option (not crazy enough to go for the true thai hot that is like 10-pepper hot) and as usual it was fantastic. Sushi options are great as well. This was the first time we opted for outdoor seating and it was a fantastic little courtyard area out back. Loved it, and it may become our go-to My Thai in town as a result. Usually we go to the one on Walnut because it's easier to park. But the atmosphere here is worth the extra effort. Service was good, food was good, everything hits the spot. Highly recommend!

I have been coming to this place since I was a freshman here at IU Bloomington and have to say it is well worth the try. The food is very reasonable price and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. Definitely try the appetizer samplers. All the curry's are very good and made with fresh vegetables.

Food was okay. I felt my pad Thai was a bit on the greasy side but they had plenty of tofu in the dish. My husband had the eggplant delight with chicken. No complaints from him except he wish there was more eggplant in there.

This place is great if you like Thai :) each time I've come I've had the curry (hard to stray from my favorites!)but their menu is pretty expansive. My favorite feature (like many Bloomington restaurants) is the huge patio dining. This is open almost 3 full seasons. The inside seating is quaint- can be quite intimate with the size. There's obviously street noise (being on the corner) but the music on the patio usually helps drown some of that- and it's relaxing music, not loud annoying music. The prices are comparable with other Thai restaurants- plan on $15-20/person (meal & a drink or meal & dessert). The portions are pretty large so the price tag is fair. They do offer lunch specials if you stop in earlier in the day. Service is fairly quick and always friendly. They also have take out available.

Walking down 4th street, you find about 4 blocks of Victorian homes that have been converted into a variety of South Asian eateries. Two of those locations house "My Thai" restaurants. Motivated by hunger, I carefully chose which location to enter based on which one I saw first. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a shockingly white waiter who showed me to my table. As I was the only patron, he allowed me to browse the menu while he shopped, what I presume were Eddie Bauer's latest fashions, on his phone. Questioning the authenticity of the food, I ordered Chicken Satay, and a noodle dish: Pad See-Ew. The Satay was competently prepared. Overall, it was fairly tender with a few bites straying off to the chewy side. The peanut sauce, however, made up for it; it was absolutely top notch. The Pad See Ew was tasty enough. All the right flavors were there, but I typically like the flat egg noodles to have a little caramelization on the outside, which these lacked. Slightly weaker tasting than I'm used to, I stole away some of the left over peanut sauce and ate it with my noodles, which I continued to thoroughly enjoy. I ultimately enjoyed my experience, and was absolutely charmed by this area of Bloomington. It is a must see if you find yourself nearby. While I didn't personally see any Asians during my dining experience, the food was just authentic enough for me to assume they had one hidden back there somewhere.

Super yummy Thai place that offers Thai food and sushi. You can't go wrong with chicken pad Thai! This restaurant seemed very spacious and in a prime location. It is in a college town, a block away from the main strip, Kirkwood. I would assume they get a lot of college kids coming in to eat. We got seated right away and our waitress was very nice and patient with our group. The food came out pretty quickly too.

This place is a deal! I went here for lunch and got the buffet for $9.99. The buffet was full of dishes that I probably would've ordered anyway plus we got wontons, soup, fruit, and unlimited seconds! I was not morally sure what this place would be like but I was surprised to find the quality buffet. Obviously being a buffet the food wasn't totally "fresh" but for $9.99 you can't really complain. I got to try a lot of dishes I probably wouldn't have without the buffet. I really enjoyed the curry soup! There was a pork dish that was also very delicious! I don't think there was a dish that O didn't enjoy. Because we got the buffet we didn't really have a waiter but they were quick to seat us, get us started on the buffet, and clean up our plates when needed. Next time I am in Bloomington for lunch I'll be sure to think of here!

Here's the summary, then I get into the weeds: Ok, if high priced food. Pretentious decor, good service, and they can be reasoned with. So.... my partner and I went on a calm Wednesday night. It's new in this location, oddly Right Next Door to another long time, established Thai restaurant. Howdy, neighbor. We notice there are three fountains, one is turned off, the third is huge and has apparently never worked. The obvious remodel is ok... but we're placed in a window seat that has not one but two fans strategically located in a corner of it, on the floor. Fine. It's not all that hot, and the fans are quiet. We order crab rangoon, then I order Pad Woonsen, and my partner orders Spicy Chicken. The crab rangoons, five of them for $7, are kinda ok. Franchise Chinese joints in town do this a WHOLE LOT better They're kind of, well, greasy. The entre's arrive. Pad Woonsen is made from thin bean noodles, then whatever stuff a restaurant chooses, but usually egg, maybe cabbage, onion and tomato at minimum. This was the minimum, and a minimum of the minimum. I ordered mine with tofu. The tofu was cold. I mentioned this to the waiter, who without asking, removed this dish from the bill. My partner's chicken was "fine". Both were served with rice, although I hadn't ordered any and in retrospect should have looked at the menu to refuse it. I hate wasting food. This is almost formal dining, meaning everything but cloth napkins. Overall, not impressive, fairly expensive, even for the neighborhood. They serve sushi/sashimi, which was not sampled. I'm unlikely to return, being unmotivated. A plus is that they have reasonable wheelchair access, unlike other establishments in the 4th St Restaurant Row. There is no real charm, or go-to reason to do so. Wish I could say better.

I tried Kao Pad for lunch. It was basic fried rice. A little bit salty for me but it was ok. The staff was friendly and nice.

We love this little gem! Not just for the food, great outdoor deck and Korean beer but because on the night we went- crowded and with only one server- the server worked the establishment like a whirling dervish, making sure everyone was eating and drinking happily! I haven't seen a waiter work so flawlessly in a very long time. Try the aforementioned Korean beer. Get the crispy rice cakes. The Udon was great as well as the katsu chicken. Honestly we will begin working our way through this menu- enjoy

The curry here is good. The owner and waiters are always very welcoming and friendly. My favorite personal Thai restaurant in this town. The Thai ice tea is also really great. Nice quiet little spot.

Had the drunken man fried rice. The food all looked good, especially the pad thai, I will probably go back for pad thai. The service was very good as well. The restaurant seemed clean.

A lot of the same flavored dishes on the menu but overall a very solid choice for take out during Covid-19. Overpriced but whatever.

Any time I'm visiting Bloomington I try to make it to My Thai! You can't go wrong with the Pad Thai and the sushi is great too. If you're searching for an appetizer, the Thai Spring Rolls are fantastic and come with a great dipping sauce. When looking at the spice level-medium is not super spicy, I would even say a little less spicy than you may expect. If you have Nick as your server-you are lucking out, he was fantastic!!

The space is nice and the waitstaff was kind and attentive, but this was unfortunately some of the worst "Thai" food I've ever had. I spent a few months in Thailand living and working with Thai people, so I have at least some idea of a standard to judge against, not to mention that every Thai restaurant I've been to in the U.S. has outperformed this place. As an appetizer I had what they were calling mi krop, but it was actually an ultra sweet rice crispy treat made with rice noodles. I'm not joking. That's exactly what it tasted like, except with the addition of some tangy flavor that did not pair well with the massive amounts of sugar at all. That is to say it was nothing like what mi krop is supposed to be. It would have been better as a dessert course, but still I wouldn't have knowingly ordered it over any other likely dessert choice. For the main course I had a tom yum noodle soup (though tom yum normally doesn't have noodles in it), which was better in that it actually resembled what it purported to be, but other than the heat it was exceptionally bland and boring. Normally tom yum is super flavorful with lemongrass and galangal, but it just tasted like noodles in spicy diluted coconut milk. The person I was eating with got pad siew and it was even more bland than my soup: I couldn't detect any soy sauce or garlic flavor in it at all. Maybe if it was really cheap it would make sense, but it was actually a bit above average for Bloomington prices (but pretty far below average in terms of taste). Bottom line: quite nice people, quite bad food. Go to Bangkok Thai Cuisine if you want a decent Thai meal in Bloomington.

Service was fast. We had a nice waitress. We got pad Thai and red curry. Loved them both! We went with a level 3 spicy. It was pretty spicy in my opinion. Next time, I would go with a spice level 2. I would return!

Small restaurant on 4th street in Bloomington. Food was very good. I had the crispy pineapple chicken. Chicken was crispy but not overcooked with the added tang of pineapple. The service was excellent too. If you like Thai food I recommend My Thai.

One of my favorite dining place in B-town! love their green curry, pad sew yum, soup and tom yum soup noodle with tofu. Always go to there with lunch special and my favorite drunk man fried rice, and you will also have a free vegetable soup. Try their thai iced tea, recommend for 5-star!

Hands down the absolute BEST curry noodles I have ever had. I'm not joking. Get the House Curry Noodles and change your life! I could seriously order this every day and not get tired of them :). Side note: I've ordered it Thai Hot and it's great - not insanely spicy. I only wish they delivered!

Always got the curry noodles and omg they are amazing. Can't say much about any of the other food options but if you love curry then get you some curry noodles.

waited an hour to watch several tables seated after us be served and complete their meal ... and then pay... that isn't the kind of service that should be rewarded.. their west side location is a completely different dining experience... but that doesn't matter, there are plenty of other Thai places that don't come with low expectations

The food is wonderful! The prices are what I expected. The place is small and they only take reservations for 6 or more. The crunchy pineapple chicken was the best of the six dishes we ordered. The Pad Thai is among the best I've had. The tempura was just ok. Service was ok. She did fill the water glasses and the tea but forgot to bring the soda we ordered. Oh well. It was a very busy night and we had a great meal so can't complain too much. I would love to come back on a nice evening and eat outside. A must if visiting IU and wanting good Thai food. Go here!

I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant today. Walked in close to closing time, and asked if they could still serve us- they said they could and seated us. They then proceeded to be extremely rude throughout the meal, constantly reminding us that the restaurant was about to close, served us average food like raw pink chicken and just overall showed a sense of urgency. We would happily walk to a different restaurant if they had said that it was too late-- would've been much better than what they ended up doing. Bad service + bad food = ?? You can figure that out yourself. You're slipping MyThai, walking over to Siam house from now on.

I was excited to try the Thai food here because of the wonderful reviews. Sadly, my experience was the complete opposite from that of the other customers. I came into the restaurant with 3 other people. Though the server was quick to take our order, the time it took for our food to come out was unacceptable. Rather than bringing out the appetizers for the table all together, the 3 appetizers that the three of us ordered came out at different times. Furthermore, my friend ordered an entree, fried rice, that never came out. The rest of my party was practically done with our meal when the waiter came out and told us that the entree was given to another table and that the kitchen was preparing another one. We waited another 20 minutes and our food did not come out. When we asked the server where the food was, she explained to us that the kitchen was preparing other dishes rather than fixing their mistake and did not even start making his dish. We asked the waiter to speak to the manager, who never came out. Finally, we asked for the check, requesting that the fried rice be taken off. When we paid the check, the manager finally came out. I asked him to give the rice to go since we waited for such a long time. He did not apologize, told us that our order was canceled and asked us in a rude and monotonous voice if we still wanted the rice. Obviously, we did not want to wait another hour for the food and left the restaurant. Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced, and for food that was mediocre ...

Located in the old My Thai Cafe Plus, My Thai Noodles is cozy, comfortable, and boasts great food and service to boot. This is exactly where I would want to be on a cold, snowy afternoon, enjoying a plate of noodles or soup! I stopped in a few months ago, not long after they'd officially opened, when the menu was significantly shorter than it is today but still contained many unfamiliar dishes. The waiter went above and beyond, taking time to explain each dish I was considering and even showed some photos of dishes with which I was unfamiliar. I ended up ordering the Kuih tiao khua (stir fried wide rice noodles with egg, tomatoes, carrots and white onion, topped with green onion and served over green leaf lettuce), which is a common Thai street food. The dish was very tasty and fragrant with a healthy kick of spice (level 3 seems to be a safe bet for those seeking some heat). Although there were no leftovers, the portion size was respectable. What really blew me away though was the attentive service. Waters were refilled regularly, menu suggestions were helpful, and the waiter was simply a pleasant person. Recently I ordered their chicken yakisoba (with extra chicken) to-go and was pleased with the dish. Never having tried yakisoba before, I can only say that it was balanced and tasty. I don't mind that the noodles were cut but some of the pieces were very small. Not sure I'd order it again at $12.99 + $2 extra meat, but it was good. Definitely looking forward to eating through more of the menu!

Got in around 1:30pm with a group of 5 and decided to do the buffet option. There were several options but many of the dishes were emptied and cold. Also, refilling for items was very slow and we felt that we had to sit and wait until they were refreshed. Furthermore, our server, Robert, put our checks in the middle of our table roughly 20 minutes before we were done. It was not even close to their closing time and we felt rushed to finish our meals. Upon leaving, we attempted to just touch on that point but he quickly got offended and told us to just eat somewhere else next time. Did not expect this from MyThai especially after eating there several times.

One of many nice Thai restaurants in Bloomington. Great sauce on the Pad Ki Mao but the noodles were nothing special. The crunch, crunchy sushi was a hit.

Delicious Pad Thai & they didn't make it too hot - just as I ordered. Staff was friendly and the service was quick, despite how busy the were from the Fourth Street Arts & Craft Festival.
