Myra's Salvadorian Cuisine

I give it only three stars because of the lack of parking and the food prices. The service was good, the restaurant was cozy, and the food was good. The pupusas were bigger and had more cheese than from restaurants. I'll be back, but not too often because of the prices.

Food made fresh. Can’t complain. Not the best pupusas I’ve had but they’re not that bad. Place is small. But clean.

El Salvadorian cooking. Made to order. Prices are very good. Family owned for a decade. Extremely clean facility and great parking. The staff is efficient and very polite. Pupusas con frijoles y queso (bean & cheese) and chicken sandwich highly recommend.

We've done phone orders and they are always ready at the allotted time they suggested

This time I was not satisfied at all i order 4 pupusas and got 1 little cup of curtido, and the dulce of the nuegados taste like water.😠 the pupusas are good but the curtido or the dulce not good at all.

Food is decent and was better before but to many hidden fees that they don't tell you about. Not coming back. Why do they need to charge you for extra cortillo if you're eating there

Alright everyone let me tell you something! If YOU have NOT tried these SALVADORIAN CHORIZOS, you MUST come RIGHT NOW and see/taste what I'm talking about. These are soo JUICY and FULL of flavor. They never fail me and I get to eat and bounce to the next adventure part of my day (work ). Today's music was Maná and it was definitely something I was able to enjoy my food to. OHHHHHH AND BEFORE I FORGET!!! I always order more beans because I heard they have no lard and they taste AMAZING! So I always have to get my fill of their refried beans

Best Pupusas I've ever had so far. I ordered the Plato Tipico Sample, which had a variety of different items to try (pastelito, platano, etc). Would recommend this option for first timers who are unsure of what specific item to try Shoutout to the kind waitress who gave me the recommendation and forgave my shoddy attempt at practicing my Spanish. Highly recommend!

I've driven by this restaurant all my life and finally tried it today. I've been to several Salvadoran restaurants and dined in El Salvador as I'm Salvadoran myself, so I can say the food was yummy. The location was super cute, clean and with great music. Service was also great! Only thing that threw me off were the beans. I've never been served pinto beans in Salvadoran cuisine.

Everything here is delicious! My favorites are the queso con loroco pupusas and their plátanos con crema. Highly recommend this place!

We ordered pupusas from this place, which my wife liked the most, but this time we were disappointed. The quality of the cheese was very bad, as if it had gone bad. We called to report it and change it, and they refused to do so. The owner should be more careful because they can make a customer sick, and the worst thing is the customer service. We will never order food from this place again.

Yummy yummy. The pupusas are so good here. If you know you know. It's hard to find some good Salvadoran food. Everything was right on. Gotta keep coming here. I just found my new spot come join me here.

I love this place. Never really tried Salvadorian food before except for the famed pupusas - i thought I was not a fan in past, because of how greasy they can get. But after eating at Myra's I see what I have been missing out on. I must explore this incredible food further, again and again "best pupusas ever". We are coming back for sure. Everything was perfect. The guac - amazing, salsa - just right with a pleasing heat but not to much. All the various fresh fruit drinks were so good. And the service was great. I have to mention, not many places get this accolade: it was spotless!, very clean. Give Myra's a try totally worth it.

I'm very disappointed with the place , I ordered by phone and they gave me the order incomplete and gave me a little cup of sauce for the big order and I ask for more,and they sell the sauce if people ask for more!!!!!

I've been a customer for a long time and I don't know if it's under new management but their food is no longer any good, their service is absolutely horrible and they measure the condiments + make you feel like your begging for something that you paid for. I most definitely not go back and do NOT recommend this place.

We always eat there, the negative comments are right the service is a little weak but the food is great. Either way I just ordered food for my office staff. People of all races and everyone fell in love with the food. Without a doubt good food brings people together.

The food has an okay taste to it however the quantity of the food is so unpleasing they serve really small portions and does match the price. The prices have gone up as well. The service is not the best they forgot half my order and we were the only people in the restaurant. Lastly it's EXTREMELY hot in there I wasn't able to enjoy my food because I was sweating a lot.

Their food is really good, their service is really poor. To be more specific, a girl with curly hair, I didn't get her name, was very curt. Not helpful, interjecting whenever we tried to say something. Again, nothing against their food, it is very delicious, but work on your customer service.

This place is so unprofessional, especially the OWNER'S DAUGHTER. I came in today to meet up with family members that were already here. I came in with a small coffee cup from another coffee shop and was told by the hostess that she would allow it today, but that next time that I refrain from bringing outside drinks otherwise they would ask me to throw it away. I apologized and thanked her for letting me know, as I didn't know. When I sat down the hostess came out again and told me that the owner's daughter was here and that she said that I needed throw that cup away. I said okay, and asked if I could have an extra cup to pour my coffee in and throw away my cup. They told me no, that they couldn't do that. Then they told me that if I was going to order something I needed to order a drink. I said no, I'll take some water. Which then they said they would CHARGE ME FOR WATER because I need to have a drink purchase along with my food otherwise they would not serve me. I said no, so they kicked me out. I have been coming here FOR YEARS and have been coming less and less due to the quality of service and food. The only reason I came today was to spend sometime with my family, but will not be coming here again. I understand that having a drink wasn't allowed, but the hostess lady said it was okay and made me aware of their policy. But to have the damn audacity to push me to throw my cup away and then force me to buy a beverage with a meal otherwise they weren't going to serve me? Even for a damn cup of water? They're completely out their minds. Do better, or your barely surviving business will end up being closed.

I am a regular a this place for many years now - the place is family owned - prices are modest and food although not the same as my grandma's - it does pass the test to keep coming back - Don't expect fancy service but servers try to be as friendly as they can

Ordered take out today and the food was delicious. The pupusas were Delicious and was the Pastelitos really Good loved them@ the Plantains was exceptional. Thank you for such a delicious lunch that me and my family enjoyed. We will return. Forgot to take a picture. But take my word the food is amazing plus the Staff were professional and courteous. The yuca con chicharrón and the Pupusas are good the rest of the food not so much. I gave them a 1 because their customer service sucks. I bought a chip salsa to go with my chicharrón con yucca and they ended up selling me a different size without noticed of how smaller it would be for the same price as before; such a rip off!

They are very friendly and provide great service. The food is really great. I always come for the breakfast. I recommend the super breakfast if you want a typical breakfast. They have plenty of parking space

My top favorite popusas, one of two. I love the atmosphere and I'm my experience pretty authentic. Now I'm not an expert, second generation Salvadoran but just love it here. I stick to what I know popusas and plátanos fritos and they are always bomb, only thing to make it better is if they had a spicy salsa. I love there Tuesday or Wednesday special but they don't offer it. Overall totally recommend this place either with a small group or large group!!!

I've been going to Myra's since I was kid maybe around 12 years old I can't remember. I'm now 30 years old I always come here when I want pupusas because they have the best tasting pupusas . They have the gold standard in tamales Salvadorian and pupusas . I come here almost every month and always for my birthday and I'm never disappointed and the lady servers always treat me with care and remember me everytime I visit.

THE WORST SERVICE! The ambiance is heavy and horrible. Same exact environment 1st time I went their, I figured I'd give them a second chance. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me...

My bff and I were searching for a spot in her new neighborhood we came upon this spot and it was the best thing that happened to us that day. We ordered Pupusas revueltas and queso con loroco. They weren't salty it was just perfect! As I am writing this post I want some! We also got pan con pollo, and empanadas de crema. To drink we had the ensalada. We will make this place our sport because it was clean, delicious and affordable. Plenty of parking too. I didn't take pics because I was starving. I will update the review with pics next time I go.

The food is simply perfection! The staff are very friendly and pleasant. The restaurant is clean and had a nice vibe to it. I had the Cameron's Rancheros and the zucchini Pupusa. It was delicious and left me full. Can't wait to go back! Yum!

My mom loves this place, so I finally went to go try it with her after work. We gotta the yuca fritta con chicharrone, the mojarra fritta Al mojo de ajo (my personal favorite) , pupusa con queso y lorocco, pupusa de frijol, pupusa revuelta, curtido, ensalada bebiba, and Salvadorian horchata. You gotta eat the fried fish whole at least once before you die. It's seriously one of my all time favs. I never had the ensalada drink before, it's so sweet and refreshing. It's delicious. Idk why they call it that. It taste like juice, not salad. I will definitely be going back. It was delicious and so cute inside, very cultural and authentic. The food came out fast and hot, and the service was good. They have a large menu and serve breakfast all day. Very Clean restrooms and dining area. Small parking in the back.

Customer service extremely poor. Not willing to understand the customers point of complaint. Charging for the trays when food is taking out. I asked for the owner and her daughter gave me a phone number that is asking for a code to leave a message. Which obviously, the code is not given to the customer. Therefore, it is not way to leave a message. My last visit to this place was very bad experience. I was a Customer of many many years. First time having this type of bad experience.

This place is the spot if you're looking for delicious authentic Salvi food. I drive over 45 min just to eat here; it's that good!

The fried fish is delish as well as the yucca and chicharon. However the albonigas soup could do with much less salt. Make sure to ask for extra salsa as its not provided unless asked for.

I love the food, but hate the customer service. In addition, if you get there at 7:00pm, they'll refuse to serve you because they close at 7:30 pm.

Pupusas are definitely recommend! They're pretty big so it's worth it and the price is good

I am sad to say I was disappointed from the service to the food. The yucca was dry, I was exited to try the sampler plate, but when it arrived my disappointment . I thought i was served left overs. Not worth what you pay. I really had high hopes and wanted to find an authentic Salvadorian Restaurant. So sad and disappointed.

Have driven past many times and finally tried it out. The Beef Stew with rice, beans, mixed veggies and tortillas was fantastic!! Beef cubes were so soft and tender. GF had pupusas which were also good. AND, great & super friendly service!! Will be back ad it's right around the corner!

We've been coming to this great Salvadorian Cuisine for years now and now that I'm an official Yelper, I need to tell you! what wonderful delicious food they serve here and their service is top notch they also have a rewards program so make sure you register! I mean the place is not very big but it nice and cozy and good thing's come in small packages, so when your in Downey Ca pay them a visit and you will most likely agree with!
