Myrtos Beach is without a doubt one of the most stunning beaches in Greece and the Mediterranean. From the top of the mountain, the view of the turquoise sea against the white cliffs is absolutely breathtaking, like a perfect postcard. To actually reach the beach, you need to drive down the mountain, as walking would take many hours. The road is winding, but the views as you descend are truly spectacular.
The beach itself is made of pebbles rather than sand, so bringing water shoes makes entering the sea much easier. The water is crystal clear but can often have waves and strong currents, so caution is advised when swimming. There’s very little natural shade, so it’s best to bring an umbrella, water, and sunscreen. An iconic and unmissable spot in Kefalonia.
