My husband and I had dinner here last night. We've been several times before, but it had been a while since we were in last. It's never been a favorite of mine, but my husband is a craft beer lover, so he has always enjoyed going.
Since our last visit here, they've changed the way you order. You order through your phone. My husband handled it and it was easy enough, but felt odd. You have to space out your ordering so that everything doesn't come at once, which, for me, feels like part of why you tip. There were only two servers working the restaurant. It's not a huge place by any means, but the only reason they can get by on two servers is because ordering is a large part of the job of a server, but here the customers do it themselves. You also pay from your phone. The suggested tip percentages given were 20%, 25%, and 30%. Of course, you can also leave a custom amount of your choosing, but the assumption that the service provided here was worth those percentages, was off putting to me. It's like doing self-checkout at a store then being asked to tip for maybe 60 seconds of a server's time.
The food was ok. I had the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, and my husband had the pastrami sandwich with French fries. Both kinds of fries were tasty! My sandwich was fine, but the piece of chicken was tiny and couldn't even be seen until I looked under the bun. My husband liked his pastrami sandwich.
Overall, I just didn't love the experience, and I don't think we'll be rushing back anytime soon.
