N28 Wine and Kitchen

Walked past N28 countless times thanks to its proximity to Pullman Budapest — always packed, always intriguing, and that Bib Gourmand plaque quietly flexing. Finally secured a table and now I understand the hype. Warm, friendly service with effortless English communication. The team handled my food allergies with genuine care, and the sommelier nailed a lovely red wine recommendation. Shrimp & Avocado was fresh and enjoyable… but let’s be honest, the real headline act was the Goose Leg with Beetroot and Cabbage Lasagne. The goose was excellent, but that cabbage lasagne? Rich, clever, and dangerously good. Supposedly a side dish, yet I’d return and order it as a main without a second thought. N28 is absolutely a must-try in Budapest - brilliant cooking and awesome staff.

Generally speaking, I can see that the food can be very nice for some people, but some food pairing styles are just not really my taste. The foie gras is very nice, and the fried shrimp is also tasty. But the main dish of pork is too salty with too much fat, and the lentil soup (which has a heavy flavor) at the side does not complement the oily pork well. The fish is very good by itself, but the paring with the dumping (with cheese and probably spinach) does not go very well in my opinion. The service is great. We ordered wine paring, and the staff member explained the wine nicely.

N28 in Budapest is the best restaurant I’ve visited in Hungary. From the very first moment, we felt truly welcome – as if we were old friends returning home. The cuisine is exceptional and unique, an excellence I haven’t experienced in a long time. The goose and the crème brûlée with foie gras were absolute highlights, unlike anything I’ve ever tasted elsewhere. The wine selection is outstanding and perfectly curated. The host and the sommelier are among the most welcoming and passionate gastronomes I’ve ever met – warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to their craft. I can only give five stars, but I’d gladly give ten. Stay exactly as you are! It was an absolute pleasure dining with you. Every moment felt like a celebration of taste and hospitality that will stay in our hearts forever.

Our trip to Budapest was all about visiting several Michelin-starred restaurants. Therefore, N28 Wine and Kitchen had to be on our list 😉. The menu is very interesting, there's something for everyone. And the dishes served are pure poetry at their finest. The composition of the individual dishes... and desserts!... make our taste buds go wild... wooow. I highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates exquisite cuisine. The service is very friendly and professional at every turn, bravo...

Wow! Absolutely recommend N28: Service was excellent, charming and warm. Very knowledgeable about Hungarian wines and more than happy to share the experience. Food was delicious. We had the shrimp and black pudding to start followed by veal and lamb, and a poppy seed creme caramel. All accompanied by local wines -- just brilliant..!

This restaurant is a must-try when in Budapest. It takes very high-quality ingredients and cooks them to perfection. Each dish we tried was amazing and was definitely one of the trip's highlights. If I were to make one suggestion, it would be to turn the music down a little.

I’d give 6 if I could. Exquisite food (the artichoke soup is a must). The staff is lovely and incredibly fun, adding to the experience. Excellent selection of wine.

Excellent food ranging from beautiful Hungarian classics like goulash to European style cooking like a well seared pork chop and English trifle. The wine recommendations from the friendly staff are also spot on. Prices are certainly higher than the typical Budapest establishment but not too bad for the quality you’re getting.
