The 13 Best Vegan Restaurants in Mexico City | Eater

"Focused on sustainability, traceable ingredients, and mindful eating — with little interest in creating vegetable-based substitutes for meat — chef Onna Ferrer brings regional, animal-free cooking from Oaxaca, Central Mexico, and Veracruz to the southern CDMX neighborhood of San Angel. The restaurant draws on those regions for fresh aromatic herbs like pápalo, quelites, and hoja santa; seasonal produce like squash blossoms, huitlacoche, and heirloom corn; and other crucial aspects of the milpa agricultural basket. Order the plantain molotes stuffed with huitlacoche in guajillo sauce, the green enmoladas with acoyote beans and pumpkin seeds, or the hoja santa tetela with Oaxacan mole and plant-based cheese. Na Tlali also has a small shop with organic produce and plastic-free products to stock your fridge and pantry." - Natalia de la Rosa

Wow! We flew in and essentially fasted much of the day. We dared not touch the airport stuff and we are glad we waited until we got settled in here in CDMX. This was our first time at Na Tlali and everything we tried was amazing! The staff was helpful and accommodating and we walked away very satisfied. We look forward to the vegan/ vegetarian scene in CDMX and this spot was all that…

We ate here for multiple meals. It’s a pretty space with very friendly staff and we loved everything we ate and drank from the menu. Great spot for a traditional breakfast. And read the story of the restaurant on the menu- it’s so inspiring!

I finally found a restaurant where I can experience fine pre-hispanic Mexican cuisine without cruelty. After almost 2 years in CDMX I was so tired of guacamole and tortillas stuffed with some plain veggies but this place is a game changer. Everything is delicious, the place feels very cozy and the service is super friendly. 100% recommended !

We were very impressed by the superb flavors and impressive selection of vegan choices. Everything was delicious! Their vegan Chiles en nogano was exceptional 👌 One of the nicest meals we had in Mexico City prepared by a friendly & talented team. Thank you!

A Vegan paradise 🌎 Humble, simple and elegant ambience that would connect you to the earth. The crockeries will make you feel so. The food is really tasty and your taste buds would be satisfied for sure. Very accommodating and friendly staff, who are ready to recommend as per your taste palette. Must try: Tacos cochinita, Tacos Baja, Naranjata + Maracuya special drink.

Na Tlali is a hidden gem. 💎 The most delicious Mexican food I’ve ever had! Super fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, exceptional service. Must try their mole and cakes 🍮 it was not walking distance from our hotel so we took an Uber there and back and it is was sooo worth it. If you’re looking for a vegan or vegetarian restaurant, no other restaurant will compare to this!

WOW! Na tlali restaurant was an absolute treasure! From the moment we stepped in, we knew we were in for something special. To start, the café de olla was a delightful surprise. I didn't need to add sugar because it was already perfectly sweetened, and the little bread with jam was simply delicious - the ideal way to kick off our culinary adventure. But the real showstopper was the tacos de birria, they were a delight to savor. However, the chicharrón en salsa verde tacos took me back to my childhood. They tasted just like the ones my mother used to make, and I was transported to those nostalgic moments. The handmade tortillas truly made a difference, adding an authentic touch that made the whole experience even better. The ambiance of the place felt like being in our own backyard, cozy and inviting. We decided to give Na Tlali a second visit and this time we tried the enfrijoladas and chilaquiles. Both were as good as the other dishes that we tried. Overall, Na tlali restaurant deserves a perfect 10/10. The flavors, textures, and the exceptional service - everything was spot-on. Oh, and here's the best part - even if you're not vegan, I highly recommend this place. The dishes are so delicious that you won't even notice they're vegan. It's a culinary journey that everyone should embark on. Friendly, warm, and utterly delightful - Na tlali restaurant won our hearts! 😊

Yelp
Best vegan food in Mexico City! Charming patio seating off the busy street. A proprietor helped us read the menu and select our entrées. We tried all three molés, and each was unique and delicious containing local delicacies like huitlacoche and a watercress green grown in the chinampras south of the city. Fabulous!

Yelp
Best vegan restaurant we ate at in Mexico City. By some margin. So glad we sound it. Beautiful courtyard and service. Inside the center - can't access from street.
