My partner and I are not big fans of Indian food, not yet, anyway. We are still waiting to discover an Indian restaurant whose food will wow us. Based on reviews, we decided to try this place because it was highly rated. Located across the highway 215 from IKEA, and in a strip mall with many other restaurants, this place was a surprise.
First of all, we liked how bright and cheerful it was. They even have fresh flowers at every table, and real potted plants. The piped-in music was contemporary. No garish decoration,
They have the best garlic naan we've ever had. Wish we also ordered the butter naan. They had quite a selection of salads, fruits and vegetable dishes --- a vegetarian will truly appreciate the choices. As for the meats, I really liked the lamb curry and butter chicken. One of the vegetable pakoras was over-fried, however, and I couldn't enjoy it because it was too tough. We appreciated that the food was spiced at a level that the general public will appreciate, and not too spicy that it would burn our tongue.
Quite a find. Glad we went, and may even go back.
Why only 4 stars? They have a good wine selection but I probably should have asked if they have Lassi or chai. But the only menu we saw after we told them we were going to opt for the buffet, was the wine menu. It was only as we were leaving that we saw a complete menu.
Although the staff was attentive enough, it was a bit of a distraction to see one of the wait staff glued to her phone.
We decided that if we return, we should get there as soon as they opened so that the food would not be so cooked down that they looked like soup or gravy.
