The 26 Best Restaurants in Medellín, Colombia | Eater

"A pop Indian aesthetic pervades this Laureles restaurant (which has two additional locations), which introduced Indian flavors to Medellín’s then-conservative culinary scene more than a decade ago. Colorful illustrations, concrete walls, plants, and natural light create a fun atmosphere. Although there are recipes steeped in tradition like tikka masala, samosas, or curries, chef Maria Teresa Vélez also take liberties, such as in one of Naan’s best sellers, an interpretation of pakoras made with crispy spinach, tamarind reduction, yogurt, onion, and tomatoes." - Liliana López Sorzano

It’s been nearly a year since I last had Indian food and this lovely restaurant is a great place to get back into it. The waiter Milo was kind and helpful. I enjoyed the superb chicken tikka masala and the delicious garlic naan. They also offered two different spicy chutneys that unfortunately didn’t make it into the photos. You’ll also find plenty of Indian music playing throughout the restaurant.

We spent 4 days in Medellin and this place has the best food hands down! We started with a chai frio and a mango lassi. The chai was flavorful and delicious and the lassi was perfectly sweet, tart, and refreshing! We ordered the lamb madras, safrani pistachio rice, mango and rad chutney, and 3 garlic naan. The food didn’t take long to come and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! We shared and it was enough for us both but if you have a bigger appetite I recommend getting 2 entrees. The flavors were incredible, everything went so well together for the perfect bite. We left so satisfied with the restaurant. It’s on the main restaurant road and the decor is beautiful.

Naan is a restaurant with India food cooked in a Colombian way with Colombian chef. It will be fine for someone exploring Indian food with Colombian touch. But anyone craving for Indian food in Medellin will not be gratified as most curries are heavy curd based and too tangy for Indian palette. The prices are on the higher side with comparatively smaller dish size especially for people coming from US. We ordered Chicken tikka - too heavy on curd, Yellow daal which was not yellow in any sense, naan and rice. Pros: the restaurant is in Provenza and can help on quick meals as compared to bread based food found around. The restaurant could mention on the menu about fusion and authentic food, so that guests can get true sense of Indian cuisine which has extremely huge variety as well know for its mesmerising taste, colours and presentation.

We had a delicious meal here. They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options and each dish we ordered was great including the rice and naan. We were served by Milo who had great English.

We ordered one chicken curry with naan which was good but the chicken biryani was far away from biryani. It was rice boiled with rose water and the same chicken pieces that we got in gravy and were assembled in 2 layers. Would suggest not to order biryani from them. Rest all was good.

I was initially skeptical of the bad reviews people left for the food saying it’s not authentic with very low ratings but decided to try it out after a lot of local food. The food was pretty good (and spicy), yes not authentic Indian but still enough to satisfy your craving especially if you have been traveling for a while. The service was good and we do recommend coming here
