Repeated Disappointment and Shrinking Portions — Long-Time Loyal Customer Let Down: Naan N Curry has been a staple in our household for years — almost a cherished ritual. We've recommended it, praised it, and relied on it time and again. But sadly, the recent experiences have left us frustrated, disappointed, and feeling taken for granted. Over the past three weeks, we’ve ordered from Naan N Curry 5–6 times, and every single time the portion sizes — particularly the biryani — have drastically dropped. For context, we've consistently measured their biryani to be around 2 pounds, which was always satisfying and fair. Even when it occasionally dipped to 1.7 or 1.8 pounds, we let it go — understanding that minor fluctuations happen. But what's happening now is no minor issue — it’s a pattern of serious shortchanging. For the past few orders, the biryani portions have shockingly dropped to just 1.1–1.2 pounds — nearly half the usual size — with no explanation or adjustment in price. This is not a one-time occurrence, but a sustained decline that feels exploitative. Most disappointing of all: a few days ago, we had guests at our home and placed an order with full faith in Naan N Curry. What arrived were two embarrassingly small biryanis, totally inadequate for the occasion and incredibly frustrating. And today, yet again, I ordered three biryanis, and all came in at just 1.1 pounds each. That’s not just inconsistency — that’s a complete disregard for loyal customers. I’ve spent years making the 55-minute round trip from Redmond Ridge to Renton via I-405 because I believed in the quality and consistency of this restaurant. But if this trend continues, I’ll be left with no choice but to stop supporting Naan N Curry — not out of frustration, but out of principle. We deserve better than this. If things don’t change, I’ll be taking a break — at least 3 months of boycott — to avoid wasting my time, trust, and hard-earned money.

It's only take out and hard to find parking to even pick up to take out. It's pretty expensive at almost $20.00 for most entrees but nothing comes with it. Even rice or naan is extra. Why do they call it Naan-n-curry if nothing comes with a meal entree? It should be Naan OR curry. It's too overpriced and not worth the effort to try again. The food wasn't too bad but not all that great and portion size isn't great. A biryani dish had hardly any meat...most of it is rice. $24.95 for a pound of rice. The dishes are priced like a business that also has dine-in service with waiters, dishes to wash and other employees and expenses. Why the restaurant cost if you're just a kitchen? No one helps your order and the lady standing there reluctantly offers an answer.

We went to dine in, but they we open only for take out (temporary) We ordered vegetable dum biryani which was flavour-full but hardly any vegetables there (only cauliflower, peas & potatoes) We also had Tandoori paneer & cauliflower which came fried! After confirming if this is from the tandoor before placing the order, it turns out it is fried. The service was quick.

The one and only Pakistani restaurant in Renton area. I come here twice or thrice a year all the way from Soap Lake. It is the best available. My usual to go dishes are Chicken Dum Biryani, Chicken Nihari, Daal and Tandoori Fish. Their Naans are also the best and give me a feel of home (Pakistan) as they are soft and fluffy which I can only find at this restaurant. I wish they had a branch near my place and then I would be there every week. The staff is courteous and their prices are also very reasonable.

Biryani is just WOW at this place. It's a bit pricey but totally worth it. The portion size is huge and I'm never able to finish the entire plate. I like Biryanis a bit spicy and found medium spice level to be on the lower side. I have also tried their Pistachio Almond Kulfi and it was okay - would not recommend ordering it. My husband had masala chai and loved it. Veg kabab was okay.

This was on my go to list for a year. Only takeout is available right now. We got tandoori paneer, lamb biryani, chicken handi, garlic naan and gulab jamun. This is the best lamb biryani in seattle. I haven’t had this aromatic biryani in a long time. The chicken handi had a very earthy flavor and was just the right amount of spicy. Tandoori paneer was amazing. Witnessed a patron shed some tears. The gulab jamun is also the best I’ve had in seattle. It melted in the mouth and smelled of roses. Undeniable 10/10 place.

I thought of trying this by looking at the reviews and ordered a couple of vegetarian recipes. And I didn’t like the taste and quantity of the food. Despite asking for higher level of spice the food tasted bland.

Food is always good never disappoints. Portion size are small compared to price. I feel pricing is on higher side. Achari boti kabab is must try

WOW WOW WOW Take Out ONLY at the time of the review. I was at a shop nearby and they told me I HAD to try Naan-N-Curry! I havnt had really any Indiana and that's because of not having a good recommendation. I was torn between Tikka masala or Vindaloo Since I've had Timka she recommended I try Vindaloo, oh my lawrd!!! Drooling! Not only was she kind when I ordered and so helpful it came out really fast! It came with rice and garlic Naan and I ordered a Mango Lassi. I still think of those potatoes. The Mango Lassi was gone in two seconds. It was incredible. I need to come back and I would bring east coast friends here!! At the time I went there was no seating and it was just a 15 minute wait so check about seating inside but might be worth it to do take out. Don't forget to bring your hot bags to keep it warm, pro move.

The saffron rice (5/5 stars) was the best saffron rice I have ever had in my entire life! The palek paneer (3.5/5) was fairly average, but I would eat it again the next time I was here. The naan (3/5) and garlic naan (3/5) were unfortunately less impressive - they nailed the crispy brown spots and it was the right texture, but the flavor was a lacking - it tasted a lot like white bread. The aloo gosht (5/5) was good and the lamb in it was incredibly tender! I'd come back if I was in the area for lunch but it wasn't worth the 60 minute drive unfortunately.

I've heard a lot about Naan n Curry and I wanted to check it out. They have this location in Renton and another one in Issaquah and currently they're doing take-out only. DUM BIRYANI LAMB ($17.99) - this is their most popular dish so I definitely had to get it. The portions were massive but I thought there could've been more lamb (it was very tender though). I thought it was good and standard. 4/5 TIKKA MASALA CHICKEN ($16.99) - they have the option for white or dark chicken; I chose the latter and I think it was the way to go. It was thick and sweet and went really well with the saffron rice. Note that it doesn't come with rice so you'll have to order it separately. 4.5/5 SAFFRON RICE ($3.25) - it's pretty much what is used in the biryanis as it's also cooked with saffron and spices. 4/5 GARLIC NAAN ($2.99) - this was just okay as I thought it could've used more garlic. 3/5 For the biryani and the curry you can choose your spice level from 0 to 4. I asked for level 2 but the two labels had "s1" on them so I think they got the spice level wrong? If these were actually level 1, it's not very spicy and I'd probably do 2 next time. If these were actually level 2, it's not as spicy for a "medium" as I thought and would go to level 3. This is a pretty good Indian restaurant and the dishes were flavorful.

This is one of my two fer places. I order several dishes and it turns into dinner for two days. It's still take out only. This place makes me eat my veggies. I like the eggplant and could eat the potato dish for days...literally. That's worth an extra star.

We went on Saturday, and learnt its takeout only. We stood there 15-20 mins while our food got ready The person at the counter raved so much about the dishes. We got home, boxes were 1/3rd oil floating. There was no flavor but just more oil underneath. This is not the great place it used to be. Save yourself

Roti paired with the BEST Dum Biryani, Tikka Masala, and Baalti Gosht Chicken, along with Mango Lassi, made for an unforgettable Friday night dinner! The Chicken Tikka Masala, with its creamy and flavorful goodness, perfectly complemented the Biryani and bread. Trying the Baalti Gosht Chicken for the first time left my family absolutely blown away by its taste, although I still hold a special place in my heart for the tikka masala.

Decent food with good ambience. Not many vegetarian options and they have only medium spice level for all the dishes. Overall our experience was mediocre .

I have got many recommendations to try vegetarian or mutton biryani here. I finally got to try it out today. I had earlier tried chicken biryani and it was bad. It was kind of lacking in flavor and chicken was kind of over cooked. I thought may be today's order would be good. I ordered samosas, vegetable biryani and a chicken tikka roll. Overall I am kind of disappointed. I will give my rating below for each dish but will give an explanation here as in why I didn't like it. Samosas were decent. No complaints there. The roll was mediocre. It was given to me all deconstructed and even after I constructed it, it wasn't that good. The biryani quantity is enough for 2 people. I said I want spicy but it was bland and there was less salt. They didn't even give an raita or salad with it. I wouldn't recommend this place. Chicken biryani - 3/10 Samosas - 7/10 Chicken tikka roll - 6/10 Vegetable biryani - 5/10

The food is very good! 8.9/10 I have only ordered togo from this place. My order is always on the dot.

Consistently great takeout in Renton! Never disappoints, great quality, customer service, and delicious.

Incredibly amazing food! The most authentic Pakistani food I've tasted in the USA! Everything is excellent and good is on point! Even better service - the team and servers are incredible at making sure you're serviced and happy with the food. I've ordered from this place so many times and they recognize and appreciate their customers. Can't speak to the ambiance and the inside because ever since Covid, it's been take out only!

I accidentally order from the Renton location on UBER EATS or DOORDASH. Regardless, I only realized it was from the OG location when and after I ate my food and just sealed back what little left overs I kept for myself (it was hard not to demolish it all!) when I saw the professional sticker on each container showing RENTON. My point here is basically, I have only eaten for years now at the Issaquah location and I am glad I could not tell a difference in it all! That shows the Original location in Renton still holds its own and wherever you are east end or South end. You have a choice to make that is right and that is NAAN N CURRY! - Yum and thank you!

Simply the best! Our go-to ... but more important, their tikka masala is hands-down the favorite for our 3 boys. We have been eating here since moving to the Renton area almost 10 years ago. There has never been a dish that has left me disappointed. In the age of staffing challenges, I respect their decision to remain take-out until able to staff right. Every time I pick up an order, I feel welcome as "the tall guy."

To go only these days. We had the butter chicken, saffron rice. Very good. My only downside was finding a parking spot to pick it up!

I was craving for some lamb biryani and tiki masala. I have been here before. However, after paying $89 for three items was not worth it. The food was bland. No flavor or spice it was overall all the worse experience I've h that's with Indian food. I would not recommend and I don't think I'll be going back ever.

I have heard so much about this place. But my experience did not turn out to be good. I ordered pickup from uber eats. There is no dine in option open. The price turned out to be cheaper in restaurant menu on uber and Doordash, which made me felt wrong. Also the quantity of food was extremely less and the taste was average.

Food decent, customer service terrible. I watched the owner argue about time back and forth with a delivery driver. She was as very rude and seemed to be very busy when I walked in to pick up my order. The kitchen looked fairly messy in the back. I will not return.

Was visiting a friend in Renton and we ordered takeout. Food was a little late but we checked outside the door and there it was. We were right on the other side of the door the whole time. It was still hot though. He got the Daal soup, lamb chops, tandoor chicken, samosas, palak paneer and saffron rice. It was all very good and tasty. We also had garlic naan and puri. The last was not as tasty as I am use to but it was pleasantly chewy. Everything was very good and the serving sizes were enough for another meal for one of us, me! I wish they had one in Seattle.

We are HUGE naan n curry fans in my house! The food is always delicious, and their selection is wide. The servings are very large so we're always able to share and have plenty for leftovers. Top recommendations from my family are the chicken biryani, chana masala, daal, raita and garlic naan on the side and the mango lassis! The people are nice and efficient, so we always have a good experience.

Folks..... Naan-N-Curry is special. The chicken/lamb kabob rolls (I'm not sure if that's the official name) are my go-to for lunch. The service is very good too even though they've been take-out only since Covid started. The garlic naan is amazing. Mango juice is amazing. They have the best chicken. It is so tender and I can't imagine anyone having a bad thing to say about it!

Love this place. Glad they are still doing take out even if you can't eat in. Food is amazing. Service has always been great.

This is the best Indian - Pakistani North Indian food in the greater seattle area in my opinion over the last 15 years. Their biryani, and actually all entrees are just fresh and have an amazing taste profile. They make their masala fresh at the restaurant. Their fish sizzler was one of the best desi sizzler ever had. Because they don't skimp on quality , the food may seem expensive. Also, they don't cater at a different rate. It's the same entree that they will put in a tray and you have to pick up. Unfortunately they don't have staff for sit down services at this time and so it's to go only. Also their sit down is not best of ambience. Having said that - if you wanna have true North Indian food, you must try this place!

Some of the most awesome tasting South Asian food. Just thinking about the food gets my salivary glands working. Price is a tad bit higher than other Indian places but the taste more than makes up for it. I have tried multiple dishes and they never disappoint. Recently tried the Chicken Kheema and Chicken Biryani. Both were great tasting, the Kheema portion was a bit small. Their biryani is nice and flavorful with a hint of fragrance. Portion size of the biryani is pretty good. Now for some reality. All that great taste is due to a helpful serving of oil and ghee. Kheema was literally dripping in oil. Don't expect this to be a low calorie food joint. For certain, it won't be featuring on any weight loss food kits. Spend an extra day in the gym if you're gorging here. If there's a (cooking) oil crisis, I know where one of the biggest caches will be.

There is nothing like a delivery after a long day of work - from Naan - n - Curry. The food is always amazing! The flavors fantastic! And they are now my go-to comfort food place. I've ordered from them multiple times, and I so appreciate the consistency. Always great. Always fresh. Thank you!

After moving back to Seattle area after 6 years, first stop was at Naan N Curry (but, we went to Issauqah one which was not there when we used to live here). After almost 4 months, we decided to pay the Renton outlet a visit. Got the following : Lamb Seekh Kebab- Excellent but, slightly on bland side. Balti Ghosth- My favorite dish but, I felt the one at Issauqah is little better. Lamb Biryani- Not sure if they serve Goat which I would prefer over lamb. This was very good as usual. Prices are quite steep but, that does not seem to deter their business. Cheers to good food !!

I ordered online for takeout. Chana Masala - I liked the taste (after I got rid (scooped it out) of the excess oil on top) but it was a little on the oilier side Prawn Vindaloo - good taste (although Twas my first time trying a vindaloo), it had 6 pieces of shrimps and 3 pieces of potatoes Paneer Tikka Masala - liked this A LOT! It had a sweet and buttery taste. Saffron rice - good rice Naan (regular) - good bread Entrees did not come with rice unlike other Indian restaurants I've ordered at. Takeout came in secure, tight containers.

Ordered for pick up/take out as that is all they are open for. We got there a little early and the food was already ready! It was piping hot. We ordered the chicken Tikka masala (butter chicken), 2 garlic naans, vegetable biryani, and plain lamb keema. The flavors were outstanding, though the portions on some of the dishes are on the smaller side, they pack all the flavor! The butter chicken is so creamy, it's amazing. The lamb was tender and delicious. Since we got two meats we got the vegetable biryani and it was a great choice. We had a little leftover of the biryani, that's one of the dishes that's a good portion size. The food is delicious and the service was quick. Highly recommend Naan-n-curry! They are on the pricey side, but it is totally worth it.

This is one of the best Indian food you get in Seattle. Lot of Flavors and aroma in their dishes make the curry heaven. Their vegetable biryani and balti gosht are must try dishes. you will get a pound up after eating this as it have a layer of oil in their curry which I remove to save extra calories Tip: parking is on road and limited but these days they have option for pickup which works good. They have now 2 location so make sure you order and reach at same place.

Takeout updates: - For a $17 dish, the serving size is very tiny, barely enough for an average person. They do not include rice/naan with the dish, so you'd expect more quantity for the price. - The tiny boxes were overfilled with oil and very little meat. Expect a greasy mess when you unbox. - Not going to order again.

I am a sucker for good food. I could care less about the ambiance and service if food is out of this world. That was my expectation when I walked into Naan and Curry. The place has no ambiance or friendly service but they are efficient. So efficient that before I could complete my check formalities, my table was cleaned for the next customer!! Seemed like butter chicken is one of their signature dishes so ordered that. It had the most unappealing look, however I have had some amazing food that didn't look so great. Well that wasn't the case here, the sauce was very mediocre with chunks of chicken in it. Garlic and plain naan were great. Also tried the chefs sizzling platter of paneer and cauliflower ($21) This wasn't good at all. Very oily, deep fried and lacked flavor. Maybe we ordered the wrong food. Maybe biryani and Kababs is their thing...

Take out only when I picked up dinner a few days ago. This was the most authentic "home made" type of chicken biryani and haleem I have tasted in the entire USA in the past decade. I avoid most "desi" restaurants because they tend to "TexMex" desi food. I am not sure how I get to eat here again as I live on the East coast. May have to get a job with Amazon so I can visit Seattle more often to drop in to Naan and Curry more haleem!

Amazing food, spice and flavors. We ordered the paneer, chicken biryani, and the chicken tikka boti. It was the most flavorful paneer I've had and it had some spice. You can't go wrong with the chicken biryani. It pairs well with the delicious mint sauce they give you. The chicken boti seemed a little over cooked, probably would order something else next time. I've also had better garlic Naan. Overall great authentic flavors and would come here again! The food was ready in 20 minutes, super fast!

Love this place. They're so generous with their portions. All the dishes taste so good. This is my favorite Indian place. Too bad they're located in Issaquah and Renton. Wish they were closer to where I live.

We've been going to Naan n Curry for many years and it's still one of our favorite Indian restaurants. They are currently (as of fall 2023) still doing takeout only. We generally get mutter paneer, dal, aloo gobi, and bengun bharta.

I tried Naan-n-Curry after reading reviews and recommendations from Indian colleagues. I had the eggplant (Bengun Bharta). I ordered four stars and with plain naan. The flavors were very mild almost bland. The dish normally has a smoky flavor but this was cooked out and needed some proper seasoning. It had a thick covering of oil which I poured off but that's a lot of mustard seed or ghee for no reason. The naan was supposed to be freshly made but was too perfectly shaped and lacking in that tanginess you get from the yogurt. After 15 years of traveling to India and enjoying the cuisine as a vegetarian, I was disappointed. It will take a lot to get me to try it again.

It pains me to give a two star review, especially to a place my beloved cousin said was his favorite. Walking in, the interior looked pretty nice, sorta weird dark ambiance although it was lunch. Seemed nice enough though, no complaints. I'm by no means an Indian food connoisseur, but I've had my fair share around the country and abroad. I've never had questionable or not-so-good Indian food until now. The first thing I thought was odd was they didn't have samosas on the menu. I've never been to an Indian restaurant that didn't have them. I asked the waitress, and she gave me a smug look and said "we don't know how to make them". We were sitting directly in front of the open kitchen window, and I could see 4 cooks from south of the border, and I don't mean India's. That was also another first. I've never been to an Indian restaurant before that wasn't owned and ran (and cooking) by Indians. I know the owners here are, but they aren't cooking. The owner or manager did come by and see if we were ok during the meal, which I commend. I can't say the food was good or not good due to the cooks' homeland, it was just an observation. When asking about naan, we were told the choices were plain or garlic. Another weird thing to me. Never been to a place that only offered two options. Thought I would ask if they had peshwari naan (just in case), she looked at me like I was crazy. Asking for two things that weren't on the menu, yikes. Started with the mango lassi, which was really good. To be fair, I have never had a bad one my entire life. Perhaps even a bad lassi is still a good lassi. The rice was pretty good, but as others have said in their reviews, sorta pricey and stingy of the place not to offer it as part of the meal. You are paying a somewhat high price IMO for the entree, rice would normally come with it. I know chicken tikka masala is the chicken teriyaki of the Indian World, but that's what was recommended, so I thought I would give it a shot. This is another dish I have never had done poorly before today. I was shocked, it looked like tomato soup with about 5 tiny chunks in it. The meat to curry ratio was like 98 to 2. Very bizarre. For the price of the dish, surely chicken can't be that expensive to hold back on. I've never had a chicken-less chicken tikka masala before. Now I can say I have. I actually had to order a second order of rice just to try and finish the curry- it was just liquid. I feel horrible that this spot was so disappointing. I had wanted to like it so much more than I did. I guess the one good thing, is now I know I can show my cousin some really good Indian food next time he visits me.

Best Indian/Pakistani food in Seattle! Most authentic flavor and spice you will find

Naan n curry I'm Renton is really good food. Some of its dishes like Biryani, Keena & Haleem are very authentic. However of the occasions that I have gone there, I have noticed the owner being extremely rude to a certain ethnicity, so that's the watch out in this place. They used to be a proper sit down place, but now is a takeaway only place, so the chances that you run into the owner are less.

I'm obsessed with this spot! It's like homemade Indian food! The biryani is so delicious!!! I'm picky about takeout (the foods not as fresh) & even take out comes out perfect at home, as if I was there! I've been a loyal customer & love their service & quality! I'm drooling just thinking about their food lol

We have been living near Renton for about 4 months now and we have been to Naan-N-Curry at least 8 times. This place is our absolutely favorite restaurant to visit when we decide to go out and eat. We are huge fans of Indian curry however, the menu options at this place had options we have never heard of before. So, naturally, we asked our server for his opinion. He introduced us to some amazing dishes that we crave on a weekly basis. He continued to recommend dishes to us the next 4 times we went in. We have tried about half the menu at this point and we are continually surprised by how great they all are. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I was at an elite event at Boon Boona coffee that's right across from Naan n Curry. Having heard everyone rave about their biryani, I decided to order dinner to go. I am sorry to say but am really disappointed with the food. I got garlic naan, paneer tikka masala, mughlai korma with paneer and veg dum biryani. The naan was cooked well, but each was as thick as a pizza base with a burnt bottom. There was hardly any garlic in it. The paneer tikka masala was blended too smooth and lacked any texture. Also tasted like roasted red pepper tomato soup. Mughlai korma was better of the two. The veg biryani was pretty average too. Lacked all the colors. I didn't realize it doesn't come with raita. The person when taking my order didn't even ask if I would like to order raita on the side. The curries didn't come with any rice too. There were no cut onions, chilies or lemon slices on the side that usually comes with biryani. Not worth the $$$ for what you get.

Best Indian food in Seattle! You have to get the butter chicken. Make sure to call ahead to order also!

Best Indian food especially when it comes to Biryani. Too bad (or maybe good for my weight ) that it's far from Seattle

I am hooooked to this place..Yes the price is a bit higher but man, they just keep outdoing themselves. This time I got Green chilli chicken curry and it was really yummy. It had a dense minty flavor but it was really savory. I again orderd the usual chicken biryani. The portion size was really nice on the biryani. Green chilli chicken portion size was more than the kheema that I had ordered last week. I am afraid I might be a regular here !!

My favorite Indian place of all time. Hands down. I absolutely love this restaurant. It is perfectly authentic, the service is great, and the food is indescribably delicious. I come here every chance I get. I came here for the first time with a group of coworkers for a team lunch. Several of my coworkers were originally from India and they said Naan and Curry was the best, most authentic Indian food around. They were right. My team even said that although the partner overseeing our project is incredibly busy, when we schedule a meeting at Naan and Curry, he's always the first to RSVP. I've come here with my family a few times since and it never disappoints. All the dishes we've had are amazing. We're talking incredible flavor. Our favorite is the butter chicken, it's a classic, you have to get it. We also loved the Balti Gosht (a sort of lamb curry?). The garlic naan and jasmine rice are amazing too. By the end of the meal we were practically licking the bowls. The restaurant is unassuming but pleasant. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. It is located downtown in Renton, there's not a ton of parking but I've found spots on the street each time I've come. Take it from me and my coworkers, best Indian around!
