A Pair of French Landmarks Reopen in Winnetka and Eight More Openings - Eater Chicago

"The Indian street food mini-chain Naansense reopened this week in a new location roughly two years after the pandemic shuttered its eight-year-old outpost in the West Loop, according to the Trib. In the meantime, co-owners Hiran Patel and Viral Patel have tweaked the menu, but fans can expect many of the same bowls and wraps that made the brand a hit. The pair are also preparing to launch two new locations in suburban Oak Brook and Naperville in spaces large enough to offer dinner service and drinks, with options like whole and half tandoori chicken, a special assortment of curries, and cocktails. Naansense Loop, 178 N. Franklin Street, Open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily." - Naomi Waxman

I got this delivered to my hotel. Flavor was lacking and the bowl was not a very imaginative one. The tikka sauce was watery and not very flavorful either. Masala fries on the other hand were great. Definetly heavily seasoned which I appreciated, but made the bowl feel that much harder to eat.

Omg! Sooo good! The food is seriously amazing and fast! The naan bread is salty and I loved that. Love the free sauce options that they give you. The samosas were cooked perfectly and were my favorite park. Highly recommend!

NaanSense offers a delightful Indian Chipotle-style experience where the food is just delicious. The ambience creates a welcoming atmosphere, adding to the overall dining pleasure. With quick service and reasonable prices, it's a top choice for a satisfying meal. Highly recommend trying it out!

I loved the ambience of this restaurant, It’s pretty much like indian chipotle and I really loved their tikka bowl , It wasn’t bland but the tikka sauce needs improvement and their masala fries were too sour , Overall it’s good it’s a good place to grab lunch once in a while .

As a fan of Indian food, I highly recommend Naansense! The decor inside will transport you to India, the staff are so welcoming and helpful…and the food is absolutely delicious!!

Very good Indian food in the build a bowl format. Delicious flavors, spicy sauces, tender chicken fast service. Mango lassi to top it all off.

BEST SAMOSAS IN THE CITY!! I love Indian food, and the Franklin St location in the Loop is the perfect spot for a quick lunch. Amber and the other staff at Naansense are so incredibly helpful. My favorite is to mix rice, lamb, falafel, and chickpeas in a bowl, then go to town w all the various fresh toppings. Just wish they were open on Saturday’s as well!

Google
Great spot in the Loop for quick Indian food! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. You can select from an assortment of mains served in either a bowl with rice, as a salad, or in a naan as a wrap. Lots of fun toppings like beets, pickled radishes, toasted chickpeas, chopped figs, pickled onions, and many other items. I had a mixed vegetable and Chana masala bowl over white rice and opted for the mint chutney. Next time I’ll make sure to ask for hot sauce but it was tasty and very filling. Great for vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters.

Yelp
This is such a solid bowl place to add to your lunch rotation. You're welcomed by a fun interior with Indian inspired art as you enter. It's chipotle style make your own bowl, but if you don't know what you want they also have some pre-made bowls. I love that you can choose your protein and sauce separately. I've had the tikka masala and vindaloo; they taste authentic, like what you would get at a more traditional Indian restaurant. They also have so many fun topping and chutney options that it's quite easy to make this veggie forward and healthy. The ingredients are fresh and the space is kept tidy. It's also quite hearty and possibly just as filling as a chipotle bowl. Definitely will be back to try the other curries.

Yelp
I've been to naansense twice for lunch and both experiences have been great. I've tried the tikka bowl as well as madras. Both are amazing but liked madras more just because I like creamy-coconuty bases. Naansense is a new take on fast casual indian food and I would recommend checking out this place. It can get pretty busy during lunchtime so I'd also recommend ordering ahead online!

Yelp
Definitely adding this to my lunch order rotation! After eating sweetgreen for weeks once a week when I am in the office, I was starting to crave something new. I tried naansense because I saw they had bowls that you could make with romaine or kale. When I walked in, I thought the interior of the space was so fun and colorful! The staff was very kind in walking me through my options. I ordered the chicken tikka over romaine, and the chicken was so tasty! They also offer so many different toppings, all included in the $13 price of the bowl. It also comes with a delicious naan! The bowl kept me full for hours. highly recommend. I will be returning to try so many of their other items.

Yelp
Grabbed a quick lunch while downtown the other day. I had the Chicken Vindaloo Naan Wrap with all a bunch of fresh vegetables. Really tasty flavors and textures. Quick customizable service in a clean colorful space.

Yelp
The naan burrito was stuffed to the brim. Super creative spot for easy grab and go bowls or burritos. Definitely will be adding this to my lunch rotation.

Yelp
Found this place in the Loop that was pretty cool. It's one of those places only open at lunch. Naansense is good to go to for downtown workers. Convenient for a lunch break. The menu is pretty casual Indian inspired. Came in at lunch. It's a small place so it's not good for big groups, maybe only bring a few people. The menu is pretty much Indian except that it cooks a lot faster than the authentic stuff. Also they have Indian pop. They have the cola Thumbs Up. Good to pair. Has bowls and wraps. It's $10 for the wraps. Get these with meats or vegetables. I had the vegan wrap. Comes with chickpeas and vegetables, and you can add more to it. This was stuffed pretty full and it was a pretty big meal. Good place close to a lot of businesses so if you work around here it's easy to get to at lunch. It's the only time to come though. This is also only open Mondays to Fridays and is closed on weekends.

Yelp
Naansense is back!! I first had Naansense back in 2015 when I was working downtown Chicago. They had closed their Clinton location, which was a bummer! Anyway, I'm so glad they reopened again! Different location, but same deliciousness! The Masala fries are just as I remember them! Sooooo good and worth the extra calories! The Tika Masala bowl is fresh, delicious, and filling!

Yelp
Came here for the first time this week. So glad my coworker told me about it! I had the Tikka Bowl. Details below. Tikka Bowl Savory and mildly spiced. Served with pickled onions, kachumber, chana dal, cilantro, green mint and yogurt chutney They also give you a piece of Naan with the dish. I thought it was so good. Very flavorful. I absolutely wanna go back. Am already craving it again!

Yelp
Down to one location? No problem. Naansense has been in the lunch rotation for almost a decade. Chicken bowl with that spicy sauce is filling.

Yelp
This is some of the best most consistent fast food/fast casual you can get out there. It is seriously phenomenal. If you like chipotle, or NafNaf, this should definitely be something you go after. It is definitely a couple steps above a fast casual and has incredible flavors. You would expect at a great restaurant. The head chef is just amazing and has incredible inspiration. Amber at the front is awesome. She is so nice and friendly and always a good conversation. The whole staff in general is great. I've had bowls, wraps, Samosa, and the fries. All are seriously amazing. The best part is that you were able to pick and choose what you want on anything, and there are a ton of options. Highly-highly recommend.

Yelp
This is the welcome return of the excellent pre-CVD lunch spot that used to be a few blocks away. https://www.yelp.com/biz/naansense-chicago Everything is the same high quality as before.

Yelp
How does this place not have more reviews?? If you like lunch "bowls" (Naf Naf, Chipotle) or Indian food than you gotta add this to your rotation. I am currently eating more plant- based and the root vegetables and chickpeas in my bowl were cooked to perfection. 10/10 would order again. But of course they have meat options as well. They also have an amazing variety of toppings and sauces, so you can definitely go crazy doctoring your specific bowl to your own tastes. The store definitely has more charming decor than other places in the area and the employees were very kind. Come here and support an excellent local business in the heart of Chicago!

Yelp
Cold fries I have been here three times now and I'm sad to say my food is always cold. I work very close so it doesn't take me longer than 5minutes to go pick up my food and it's very cold by the time I get there. I always get the fries because I love the sauce they come with but it's a huge disappointment that they are always cold. I would avoid ordering for pick up if I were you. I won't go back.

Yelp
I am here every week at least once. Food is always delicious. The Masala fries are really good
