Nabe Sushi

Had a fantastic time at Nabe Sushi on 2222! Great quality, amazing service (we sat at the bar and watched the chefs make quality, yummy sushi)! Chefs and waitress + staff were so nice and gracious to us too. Portions were generous and so fresh! Love the restaurant environment there. Made our evening a very happy and pleasant one indeed! 🥰 sharing some yummy pics.! And yea we couldn't stop with just the set! Just kept ordering for more. Lol 😁 We will definitely be back!

Great little sushi spot off 2222. Our server, Brandon was very friendly and gave great service. Usually the restaurant is very nice and quiet. Their sushi and desserts are amazing 😋🍣! Would recommend having one of their chef specials if you’re dining with a group. The Aska special is equally delicious and filling. Love the tiramisu, best I’ve ever had.

Absolutely incomparable to other sushi places! The freshest sushi ever, fantastic taste. You will be addicted once you taste here. I can feel the owner's profession and integrity on sushi business from every dish. You will be pampered in this restaurant. Great!

Nabe Sushi on RM2222 in the northwest corner of Austin is one of those few places where I would rate six stars if possible. My experience here was outstanding. The level of culinary creativity is a notch above any sushi restaurant I’ve ever visited. Everything was fresh as if it was swimming yesterday. Service was fully attentive, friendly, and prompt. The decor here is a dark base of wood furniture and dividers which contrasts with the window walls and colorful lamp balls, the aesthetics of which lend to a very pleasant atmosphere. I started with the Jalapeño Crunch Avocado Ball which has a delightful contrast of textures and flavors, including crab meat and goat cheese - m’wah! Next up was the Tango Mango Roll. I pretty much enjoy anything with mango and this did not disappoint. My next adventure was the We Need Protein Roll which features a thin layer of Wagyu beef on top; OMG, an absolute pleasure. All of this went down with Black Tea and a bottle of Sake. What a way to welcome myself to Austin, Texas. Highly recommended.

Nabe Sushi is a must-visit in Austin! The sushi is incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Their omakase and signature rolls are top-notch, and the sashimi melts in your mouth. The warm atmosphere and friendly service make the experience even better.

Visited this restaurant many times and will continue to do so. They have a great selection that all tastes amazing and fresh, so you cant go wrong no matter what you order. The presentation and plating is beautifully done. And the service is friendly while the ambiance is warm and inviting. They have seasonal home made desserts that are delicious but not overly sweet. Come alone, with friends and family or coworkers this place will not disappoint. Im sure you will come again once you try you it once.

We tried it a couple time during our recent visit to "River Place" -- late lunch and dinner with a couple days apart. The restaurant is managed by a REAL Japanese Chef with high standards and aspirations. The quality is definitely on the top 10% range based on the value/quality. Got to try the garlic edamame, a different fusion twist... Sushi/Sashimi/Omakase -- you won't be wrong with any of the choices ...

I only like to give reviews for restaurants that are five stars and that I think are exceptional. This restaurant really impressed me with the Chicken Katsu. It was such a great breading and was really crispy. The inside was oh so moist. Even the kids fries were exceptional. We live in the River Place neighborhood and have been waiting for a great restaurant to pop up nearby!

The sushi was very fresh and tasty - I got two of the specials - the yellowtail collar and the toro/fatty tuna with caviar. Service was quick and on point, and I enjoyed a nice dry saki and then a Cakebread chard. It was my Christmas gift to myself. Would have preferred a mackerel selection of which there was none, but I know it's not popular, but I love the oiliness and depth of flavor in that fish. Anyway, a real gem in Four Points and the NW ATX area; I will be back

We have been to Nabe several times now during the week to enjoy their lunchtime bento boxes. I usually get Crispy Flounder w/mayo sauce, but have also had the Tempura Veggies, Tempura Shrimp, Crispy Calamari. All were very good. My husband sticks with the beef bulgogi. The food is plentiful, and we always have to take home left-overs. Starts with a good miso soup, and the bento box has fresh salad with citrus-ginger dressing, entree over rice, 2 types of sushi, and 3 fried won tons (?). Ginger and wasabi are also served. The food never disappoints. Service is excellent and attentive. The restaurant is clean, attractive, fresh. There is also an outside dining area. We are very happy to have Nabe in our neighborhood now.

Stop in here today for lunch-first time. Had a business meeting, and it was in the same parking lot. I sat at the sushi bar-everything was fine until my order came. There was 4 sushi chefs on the line, and the one to the far left was sneezing into his hands, rubbing his nose, and even bend down under the counter to blow his nose & NEVER washed his hands!! I watched him from my peripheral for 5 minutes, he just went right on to making orders. Then! The next sushi chef to his right-who seemed to be the one in charge sneezed into his hands & same thing!! Didn't wash his hands, and went right back to making orders! I wasn't so grossed out, I warned the lady next to me who had sat down after all this went down, flagged my server down, paid and left Beware

Nabe is a much needed addition to the Four Points area. We went on a Friday night around 7pm and it was extremely busy. Waiting at the hostess stand was chaotic as there was no dedicated hostess and we stood around for about 10 minutes with no one even acknowledging us. Someone eventually came up with a random piece of paper and said to write our name down, which we did, but she didn't tell anyone else behind us to do it which was weird. There were actually people standing behind us that left because no one checked them in. There's also not much space to stand and wait for the table. They could definitely benefit from either a buzzer system so people can wait outside, or just yelp wait list or something to receive a text notification. Inside the restaurant is very nicely decorated which you would think makes it a good date night restaurant, but almost everyone inside was wearing athletic clothes and there were a ton of kids which is a bummer when you want to go to a nice restaurant and everyone treats it like something casual. The food was great, but incredibly slow to come out. We started off with the calamari appetizer which had a delicious honey wasabi sauce. It was cooked perfectly. We enjoyed 5 rolls, but the best one by far was the "We Need Protein" roll. It took about an hour and a half to get all of our rolls which is not typical for a sushi restaurant. The staff kept coming out and apologizing and then someone brought us complimentary edamame (which was so good), but it was brought out at the end of our meal. It would've been nice to have brought it out during all the time we spent waiting with nothing to eat. If they can get the hostess stand worked out and a better organization system to receiving food, it would be a 5 star for me because the food was outstanding.

I decided to visit this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. Although it's a bit of a drive from my place, I usually come to this area once every three months. The restaurant is spacious, and they have an outdoor patio. However, I wouldn't recommend sitting there during the summer because it's not covered. The chicken katsu was decent, but not particularly impressive. The fry on it was uneven in color and some of the pieces were quite dry. The scallop was just okay. It lacked flavor even though it was stir-fry with garlic and other ingredients. The service was average. It was their soft opening when I visited, so I can understand that they were still learning.

Nice addition to the Japanese/Sushi scene around the Four Points area. Went there for lunch and found the food to be very good. The lunch specials were varied and covered all the bases with many Bento and Sushi combination options. The food is very good. Sushi was fresh and tasted great. We really enjoyed the Karaage and Tempura Bento boxes. Delicious sampling of many Japanese favorites. Service was friendly and prompt.

Fantastic addition to the four points area. They claim to be upscale sushi and they are. The bento box lunch is about $20 but a good value. The salad was fresh, everything was delicious, and it was plenty of food. I will be coming back for dinner!

Came here on their 3rd day of opening and they did not disappoint. The lunch menu had quite a lot to choose from and prices were fair (between $16-28). The food was delicious! There were still some kinks to be worked out such as the rice was a bit undercooked, miso soup was way too salty and luke warm. But other than that, really can't complain since it was their 3rd day of business. Servers were attentive and owner was nice. Ambiance was on point. This is a much needed restaurant for the River Place area and I'll definitely be back.

Food was really good, but don't go after 8:00. Even though we were offered and served another glass of wine at 8:50, the check was dropped immediately, the lights went up, music went off, and the table behind us filled with chatty staff. I asked to speak with the manager upon our exit and asked why they even let people in past 8 if they wanted them all out the door before 9. He said that they "close" at 9. I mentioned that when I waited tables in college, we respected the last customers who came in as any others, and he replied, "Well it's not that way anymore". I won't be back.

So glad to have an upscale sushi restaurant close by. Decorated traditionally inside with a very nice ambiance. We went on a Friday, around 7:30pm and it was very busy, but the gentleman assisted very quickly, getting a table ready for us. The wait was not long at all. There is plenty of seating , booths, low tops and high tops and large tables for larger groups. There are also several spots at the sushi bar to sit at. By 8:20 it had simmered down inside and many tables open by that point. Although it was busy, the staff kept up and was very fast with service. The food was amazing. The truffle garlic edamame was good. I personally like a very strong truffle flavor, this one was mild, so if you like mild, you will love it. I got the tuna tower as my meal and it was so good, very fresh and love the combination. The server deconstructed the tuna tower for us and was like a little table presentation. The sashimi was fresh, great taste, very good. The menu itself is pretty extensive for a new place and being sushi. They do offer options other than sushi, and they have several starters, salads etc. They also have a good alcohol list and drink specials. Can't wait to go back!

Quality of the fish is great, and incredibly consistent. The restaurant and kitchen are very clean, and the ambiance is comfortable. Service is good. All around, this is our go-to sushi spot.

Very fresh, very authentic sushi along with other hot and cold dishes. The Hamachi Collar Sashimi was amazing! Collin was very attentive and took care of our party with professionalism and had a very friendly demeanor. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the mood for fresh and tasty Japanese cuisine in an intimate environment.

WOW! Just Wow! Am I in Austin? Nabe is a true hidden Jem ! Walk in and sit at the sushi bar or reserve a table. You will not be disappointed or depart hungry. Excellent service and peaceful calm Ambiance.

"I'm not that hungry" I said as I walked into Nabe for the first time. That was, until I saw their incredible menu. I couldn't resist the We Need Protein Roll. I'm not exactly a sushi connoisseur, but that roll is the best sushi I have ever eaten! Their miso soup was also a great starter, as I prepared to indulge in some tasty sushi. Whenever in the Lake Travis area, I like to try out different sushi restaurants. Well not anymore, I will only be going to Nabe each time I'm in the area from now on! Service was great (shoutout Katie K!) and everyone was so nice and helpful. Super fun place that just opened recently!

Really enjoyed this sushi spot! I'm a sushi lover and I'm happy to have this place close to home and I will be back! The nigiri was good and fresh. I really enjoyed the sea bass, flounder and salmon nigiri most. My favorite bite is typically madai (sea bream) but I felt like the fish on mine was cut a little thin. I did not order any rolls but the options on the menu were extensive and I'm looking forward to trying some in the future! I sat at the sushi bar and saw them being prepared and all of them looked great. I also ordered the chicken karrage appetizer (it was alright, nothing to write home about; next time I'll try the calamari or edamame). I am hoping that they add a simple Hotate nigiri (non-spicy version) and perhaps a crispy rice with spicy tuna, avocado and eel sauce appetizer to the menu soon! Overall service was quick and efficient... they are still working out kinks for everything due to it being brand new but in time I do think they will thrive! Staff was friendly and very accommodating. I am happy to have this place in the area so I can stop going to HEB to satisfy my sushi craving when I don't want to head to cedar park (KANE/Soto), westlake (Yuki) or downtown (Uchi).

I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could. The sea bass was out of this world, crispiest fresh dumplings and the sushi rolls were perfection. To top it all off, our server, Aaliyah was incredibly helpful, patient and filled with suggestions. The atmosphere and decor was a breath of fresh air. We'll be back. Probably next week!

Outstanding! Excellent quality and attention to detail. They just opened up and are working out some hiccups operationally but be patient and enjoy. Thought the owner was from Kyoto (due to the beer selection and the particular spin on the scallop nigiri). Will be back again...

This place is phenomenal!! We went when it was only open for a day or so and everything was perfect Highly recommend wonderful staff delicious food, peaceful ambiance, and just a really great experience.

Wow! A++++ this restaurant has incredible and fresh selection of fish. Sushi rolls, cold and hot apps -- everything is made with thoughtfulness and care. Delicious, great service, and family owned. We celebrated a birthday here and asked for an omakase style with a few dietary restrictions, Tim delivered! They receive several shipments of fresh fish per week and you can taste it. MARVELOUS EXPERIENCE!!!

This place is a pure delight. The Toro salmon, tuna, and Hamachi were stellar. The striped jack was excellent and very very fresh. The Unagi was a delightful topper to end the meal. Great wine, selection and fantastic service.

Very fresh sushi and good portions. We tried their dragon roll, spider roll, salmon harmony roll, and the wild flower roll. All were delicious and fresh. The wild flower was my favorite. The honey wasabi was really good. They also have an outdoor patio but the waiter was unsure if they were dog friendly. We'll definitely be back!

We loved our date night out here. Our server was kind and helpful identifying which fish was which on our large platter. The fish is fresh and the selection is great.

Well this place was delicious!! Fresh sushi and other options for people who don't like sushi. The side of honey with Thai Chili is amazing. The Salmon was so fresh! Brian P was lovely and took great care of us.

Just went here with my family this weekend and had a great experience, top to bottom. Food, service, ambiance all excellent for a neighborhood sushi place. We have needed a spot like this in the area for a long time! Our kid loved the chicken gyoza app, and the tuna tower was a fun BYO interactive experience. The Nabe, carrot top, and asparagus rolls were all great as well. The yakisoba our neighbor table ordered looked good, but we were too full and will have to come back for it Service was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and there was a great family owned vibe to the place. The dishes came out TOO fast, leaving me little time to enjoy my hot sake but I doubt that will continue to be a problem as the place gets more popular. Just a couple of minor notes to the mgmt, not worth docking a star. - Our app plates were never cleared, so we accumulated empty plates and the table got cluttered quickly. - When closing out, they ran our card at the table, which was great. But I always appreciate getting a paper receipt ahead of paying, or some way to review the bill to make sure it's correct without the server standing over my shoulder. Having the option to scan a QR code to pay from my phone would be ideal, but that's probably a higher fee for the restaurant.

I am a big sushi snob, eating at some of the best places. I was blown away at how great this place is. The fish was FRESH, rolls were great and everything was 10/10 for me, not one fishy bite of anything and I ordered a lot. The ambiance is nice, very clean, and the waitress was sweet and accommodating. The sushi chefs are also so nice! Welcoming you in with a cheerful shout! Loved it here! Thank god for a good sushi place in four points!

Wonderful new addition to the River Place area. High quality, fast and friendly service and good value for the money. Upscale but casual atmosphere fitting for a quick lunch or special event. We will definitely be back!

The food was amazing! As a vegetarian sushi doesn't give me much options and usually restaurants have boring vegetarian sushis, but this place had delicious, flavorful, and fresh rolls. They had amazing appetizers like Brussel sprouts and Edamame. The service was amazing everything was great. The ambience was very modern and inviting. I definitely recommend the sushi's were amazing, everything was amazing! They have something for everyone!

Definitely the best I've had in four points, Lakeway area and northwest austin. The small plates are delicious and so is the sushi. Bye bye Cho.

Everything from salad, sake, starters, and rolls was awesome. Very fresh; nice blend of flavors, and great variety. We will be coming back frequently.

Our first experience at Nabe exceeded all expectations! The food surpassed anything we've had in this area. The Yakisoba was particularly outstanding, and the Yellowtail Lovers roll rivaled sushi spots downtown that charge much more. The restaurant itself was impeccably clean and beautifully designed. We're already looking forward to our next visit! Our only complaint is they were not open on Sunday so we could come back for more :-)

This place is amazing! Stunning food and service. This is a must visit in the river place/steiner area. The ambiance is of a true Japanese sushi house.

WOW. That was definitely some of the best sushi I have ever had! Joanne and Tim are the owners of this amazing restaurant, and take the time to get to know their customers and make sure that everyone is happy. Food was absolutely delicious, service was outstanding, ambiance was amazing and I can't wait to come back soon! This place is a must try!

Excellent service, delicious fresh sushi. The "Itamae" was superb at his craft and greated everyone as they arrived. And the homemade cheese cake had no rivals
