Google
I've never ordered from NabiQ, but I'm glad that i did. I was expecting something "ok", but what i received was delicious. I ordered a Salmon Bento Box 🍱 and the Salmon was HUGE! Skin golden and slightly crispy, the inside not dry or over done - it was perfect. Staff are quite friendly, they all made eye contact with me and smiled. I appreciate the human connection. I'll be back for sure. The food hall here in Emeryville is great. I wish the seating was a little more comfortable, but overall an inviting place to gather.

Google
I’m very much enjoying this tofu bento box. A lot of rice, lot of tofu, yummy noodles very nice portion size compared to some of the other restaurants here. Thank you very much for the tofu platter.

Google
Possibly the worst "Korean" food I've ever had. Way overpriced and food that ranges from bland to just plain bad. There has been a huge decline in quality from this place after it switched management a few years back. There is no justification for the price, small portions of everything but the mediocre rice, everything else is poorly seasoned and overcooked. The staff are delightful and quick, but the management is cheap and greedy. Astonished that the place is still open.

Google
Get the salmon dinner! Omg everything is cooked and seasoned to perfection like way better than any seafood restaurant or any restaurant! And the salmon is large, veggies are yummy glass noodles are yummy and rice cooked perfectly! I’ll be back everytime I go to the bay and need a healthy hearty meal! Only $20!

Google
Bad quality food and for this price I would find a regular Korean BBQ place instead of eating from the plastics. Also when I asked for more kimchi, she was asking me to pay .50 for extra kimchi while she forced a 15% on the sale price for the tips. Basically you are here to pay restaurant price and getting horrible experience.

Google
kbbq here is delicious but the wait time was a bit long. ordered tofu bento box, would personally not recommend the tofu but everything else was good.

Roman Flintroy

Google
I went here for lunch with my sister because she thought it was gonna be good like the public market in San Francisco, but our surprise It was not. We had two bento boxes, one spicy chicken and one short rib and chicken. The food was room temperature and not freshly prepared. The kimchi was old. I cannot say that it was nasty, but I also cannot say it was very good. The biggest problem was it was not hot. We were very disappointed. The service was just ok as well. I will NOT be back. Oh and we have the bubbles too. Not ok.

Dave McGuinness

Google
Okay. Beef in the bulgogi was low quality even for bulgogi. It had so much sinew I could never eat half a slice and many pieces had grizzle. Sauce just okay.

Yelp
Had a bento box with chicken and beef from Nabi Q and it was really good although, as others have said, maybe a bit pricey. The combo bento box with the two different meats was $19.99 and included rice, chapchae, some veggies, and 3 pot stickers. There was also a bit of kimchee included. While the amount of food was substantial, it wasn't a huge portion for the money. Everything was tasty and seasoned pretty well. Service was good and the woman at the counter was friendly. I wish their water cups were bigger, though; when I asked for water, I got a paper cup with about 5 oz. of water! Being located in a food hall, there are lots of different options for food. To be competitive, Nabi Q might want to lower their prices a tad or increase the amount of food. I know times are hard right now, so I'm not sure this suggestion is feasible, but I think it would draw more people.

Yelp
I ordered the Teriyaki Bento Bowl. It didn't come with teriyaki sauce, it came with soy sauce that they then tried to convince me was a bbq sauce. It wasn't, and either way, the menu says teriyaki which they weren't able to provide when I asked. I then asked for hot sauce and the lady offered me hot sauce and some "sweet" sauce, neither of which were vegan when I inquired about the ingredients so I declined. $20 for some steamed veggies, raw veggies, tofu and rice... only seasoned with salt. It always baffles me when restaurants under-deliver and then don't try to rectify it but that's customer service these days. Containers aren't eco friendly at all which is an extra annoyance. At least the food was fresh and not drowning in oil.

Yelp
Found myself near the public market for lunch and decided to give this place a chance. Service was fast and friendly. The food came out quickly it was fresh and hot. I got a bbq chicken plate and it came with steamed rice some garlicky noodles and fresh veggies. The chicken and rice were solid but the noodles had to much garlic for me, I did like it but didn't eat it all, those veggies were the biggest crime unseasoned boiled broccoli and carrots, just leave them out if you care that much about them. I love the food market and I always try to find a new spot to eat when I get a chance to go. Who doesn't like eating at big long tables with strangers am I right?

Yelp
THEY SENT A MAN TO THE HOSPITAL... I unfortunately witnessed serious mismanagement, particularly regarding food safety. One of the most alarming incidents involved a guest with a shellfish allergy being served Yukgaejang that contained a shellfish-based broth. The guest had a severe enough reaction to be hospitalized. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and taking responsibility, the manager denied that the dish contained any allergens--despite knowing that it did. This lack of accountability wasn't a one-time issue. Employees were not given clear guidance on handling allergens, and concerns about food safety were brushed off. The work environment itself was stressful, largely due to management's gaslighting and refusal to take responsibility for mistakes. While I understand that this was a relatively new business at the time, the sheer unwillingness to correct serious errors--especially those that could endanger customers--makes it a place I would not recommend dining at. Avoid this booth at all cost; it could literally save your very life.

Yelp
My daughter took me to lunch. We wanted to go to the Public Market and see the options. This place drew me with aromatics. I smelled the garlic and we started studying the menu. The space and open seating at the market was clean and busy as expected for lunchtime. I had Garlic Shrimp Plate with a side of tofu. My daughter had BBQ Chicken Plate with tempura shrimp as an added side. The food was hot however the shrimp was overcooked. The tofu was tender and tasty. My daughter said her food was pretty good but the chicken a little dry. We were looking for sauces. Good potions. I would return for the Tofu.

Yelp
Gotta love a bento box. Tried both the BBQ chicken and the short rib and chicken combo. The price point may be a little high but you do get a lot of food. All of the meat items were done well. The BBQ chicken was a home run, nicely spiced and moist, the short ribs and regular chicken were both yummy. The boxes come with rice and noodles, a little kimchi (a bit spicy for me) and pot stickers with sauce on the side. The only real miss was the broccoli and carrot side dish that seemed like it was just taking up space. It was not under seasoned, it was unseasoned and frankly didn't belong.

Yelp
My aunt took me to the marketplace around 7pm for dinner and not much was open so I chose this place. I wasn't expecting much from a togo bento, but essentially it was mall food. The quality was decent and the amount of meat was plenty, but it was also overly seasoned on the brink of being too salty. The rice had a lot of sauce on it, which I don't really like.
google avatar

Lucy N.

Yelp
The veggies were great. Not over cooked. My chicken was yummy. I think the short ribs were good too.
google avatar

Austin W.

Yelp
Incredibly average (to below average) Korean food. I ordered the meat plate with BBQ chicken for $12.99 plus tax. For this price, you get two pieces of chicken, a piece of brocolli, a giant scoop or rice, and a small scoop of japchae. Unless you order additional sauce for $.50., you are basically just getting your cooked meat un-sauced. My BBQ chicken was super overcooked and dry -- almost reminded me of jerky. Even if I had ordered the sauce, I'm not confident it would've helped the chicken taste that much better. Given the plethora of food options in the food court, I probably won't stop by again unless there's a compelling reason to, like a significant price drop.

Yelp
Located in Emeryville Public Market, there's parking behind and that's the closest entrance to NabiQ. Otherwise there's street parking and a parking lot in the front across the street. They are always very eager and willing to hand you a menu when you walk up. My plus one prefers the BBQ chicken box or combo vs the plate. The food came out quickly and we usually take it to go but there's plenty of seating inside the public market. This isn't the best Korean bbq I've every had but it's consistently good and it is a close proximity so very convenient for us. Good for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
NabiQ is the fast-casual Korean BBQ food stand at the Emeryville Public Market. On our last visit, it turned out to be our favorite lunch place ahead of Konarq and Jaynas. Our toddler loves simple grilled meats, and with Korean-style BBQ you often get a good balance of sweet and savory. Never bland for sure. We got the chicken and beef combo Bento box which had a bit of everything. Lots of meat, rice, Japchae, kimchi, and steamed veggies. Super convenient to pack all that Banchan along with your entree. One reason I love Korean food so much is the contrast of flavors. You have sweet and savory meats that's balanced by the rice. Then, the pickled tartness and spiciness with the kimchi to clean the palate. Definitely recommend NabiQ as a solid option in the Public Market.

Yelp
Happy wedding anniversary. Great suggestion for killer Korean take out. You are my prize. We will have a romantic dinner at our 1st date location. Fernanda took her order. She was very pleasant and cordial. It was a special night for my wife and I and she was very pleased and happy to hear it. She made our experience very pleasant she was very professional but she was also very customer oriented. She made some suggestions we followed it and our meal was perfect. Thank you very much Fernanda and Team NabiQ.

Yelp
One of the many different cuisines in the Public Market. A great place to go if you can't decide what you want to eat. Show up and let your cravings decide. It's fast food kbb, so set your expectations there. I got the combination bento with chicken and beef. Everything tasted good. Meat was tender. Pot stickers were good. All my expectations were met

Yelp
Rating may depend on what you get but my 5 rating is for a fantastic salmon plate dish. I didn't do the bento so no dumplings but man was that gosh large and cooked well and seasoned superbly! The rice was fresh, the veggies also seasoned well and the glass noodles were delish! Only $20 for a healthy meal. I'll be back every time I go to the bay and need a healthy meal as this was fantastic!! Parking is easy in a large lot for the public market place! And free Lots of food options so a great place when with a group of hungry people trying to eat a bit faster than a restaurant. And desert is there too! Plenty of places to sit. Mostly all indoor. Open on weekends and good hour. Great service, fast and friendly. I'll be back for sure!!

Yelp
The food is really good, but it is a bit expensive. Maybe it's 10-15% more than it should be? We were all fine with it. They were fast and friendly, and the whole atmosphere in this upscale "food court" is fun and light. Lots of choices and this was a good one.

Yelp
7/29/23 This restaurant's in a large food court, and if you must, they got some average/sub-average takeout-style Korean food. Our friends got a box of galbi, noodles, and rice. I remember the galbi was okay tasting but subpar. Not charred, not really flavorful, and not particularly good meat. Don't remember much about the noodles or rice. 1/5 #emeryville #koreantakeout ##koreanfastfood #galbi

Yelp
Very good Korean food. I had the bbq chicken with Gochujang hot sauce, chapchae and rice. Flavorful and reasonably priced and my order came fast. This is one of the best places to eat at Emeryville Public Market.

Yelp
Overpriced and I'm fairly certain they overcharged as well. The Chicken Bento Box was listed at $14.99. I asked for only noodles (no rice), was fairly certain I saw her put that into her system (an up charge of $3 that I was fine with) and I ended up paying $19.50 with tax included. As seen in the photo, I did not get only noodles and mainly got rice. When I pointed out that I asked for only noodles and the price I paid, she first denied that I asked for them and then switched to saying she didn't charge me for it and didn't mark it. I continued to try to show her my receipt, but all it had was the final number- not an itemized list and she continued to dismiss me. Food itself was fine but it feels like a small portion of meat given the $15 charge. So, either the lady at the register ripped me off and then lied to me to try to avoid giving me the noodles I paid for, or the tax at this specific booth is over 30%, which is tax fraud. Either way, given this is a good hall with a lot of booths, I'd highly, highly recommend going to any of the other booths. My brother got a very good looking Gyro next door (and only had 10% tax but what do I know ‍).

Mario N.

Yelp
Service is fine... but the price is too much. Just adding protein (beef) is $6 extra. Just check the prices first before you add any extra protein.
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
Set in Public Market. Reasonably quick, good portion size. Carrots and broccoli were unseasoned, but at least not mushy. BBQ chicken was tasty, just spicy enough. My wife thought kimchee

Arnel S.

Yelp
This was inside a very nice food court that was really spacious and clean! There was a lot of food places to choose from, but for this visit, NabiQ was the place I and my son tried out. And we were not disappointed. You place your order at the front and they prepare the order for you. It did not take long for them to prepare the food. It was reasonably priced and the serving size was huge! When our orders came, it was in a plastic bento container...salad, rice, a few gyoza pieces, and your main order. The order may not look big, but boy...I was stuffed after my meal! The food court was well looked after. There were always staff double checking all the tables...clearing out the leftovers from previous customers, spraying and wiping the table surfaces clean! And all the staff going around always kept busy. I did not see an idle person there during my visit. If you are not sure of what kind of food you are craving, this food court will probably have what you're after. Or at least, something very close to it.

Yelp
Lunch with collegue had shrimp combo, she had short rib, very tasty with portions was great too! The place looked a lot better than a few years back after renovation. Staff were friendly. Coming back for other dishes to try.
google avatar

Mariaté G.

Yelp
The pork was awful. It was very salty that it was hard to swallow. The name said 'spicy' so I asked the Person Taking The Order How Spicy It actually was and she told me that it was medium spicy. This dish is actually on the hot spicy end. I could handle the spiciness but it was hard to swallow with how salty it was. I was sad to have to throw away most of the meat and only ate a tiny bit of the pork and all of the rice and three pieces of broccoli that came in the order.
google avatar

Chadie G.

Yelp
Great service. Super friendly and patient people that work there. Decent options to chose from. A bit over priced but most Korean spots are pricey. Spicey pork was definitely spicey. Wasn't too impressed with their garlic shrimp, they over cooked the shrimp so it was definitely tough on the chew. Portions are small for the bento boxes. If you want a bigger portion go for the meals.
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
Overall very mediocre. It's a little too drenched in sauce and I don't know how to describe the pork consistency other than weird? The japchae also has no flavors but the rice was cooked well. Also the food came out really quick so that was great too if you need something asap before hopping on the AMTRAK.
google avatar

Yelp
Expectations: This is a straight forward, no frills, KBBQ express kitchen located inside of Public Market in Emeryville. Portions: HUGE. You definitely getting fully trying to finish this and it's best that they serve them in to go boxes even if you eating there. Service: I get Korean mom, Korean auntie, Korean neighbor vibe. Friendly, inviting and will go out of their way to take care of you - my personal experience. If you expecting 5 star tastes and flavor, please ride your a-- across the bay bridge or head over to Oakland or drive in further to Berkeley. I don't live in the area or make public market a destination meal spot if I had time and a choice. This is an "I'm passing through the area for work and don't want the typical fast food." They are a nice alternative to the typical fast food and if you are short on time and want to get full. Thank you for the good food and awesome, friendly service!
google avatar

Yelp
Found within the Emeryville Food Market, this is a good place for a quick bite. I wouldn't go here just for this restaurant, but if you're there and it's one of the places open ... when I was there, most of the restaurants were closed. I got the BBQ beef bento box. It wasn't the greatest, but it was good. The flavor was fine. Need to add your own spices. I can't eat very spicy food, so this was good for me. Pricing is a little expensive, but compares to other area food court pricing. Not sure if I will go back to this restaurant, but I know I can go here if I don't know what I want.
google avatar

Jared M.

Yelp
Told the lady I wanted shrimp and she suggested chicken so I took her advice... only to find out the reason she wanted me to buy it was they were about to close and she wanted me to pay for an order someone didn't pick up that was left on the counter. Cold food, tasted stale like it had been sitting for a while. I feel like I need to shower and run a few miles after how gross that food was.

Yelp
** The following review reflects my delivery experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** Coming here well over two decades, I definitely feel for all the vendors in the Emeryville Public Market because it was designed and eventually redesigned to be a gathering place for hungry people to eat at community tables. I'm sure the latest wave of necessary restrictions has made it a ghost town and consequently left the vendors with delivery services their only option for survival. I'm happy to oblige as I never tried the Korean BBQ served here before the pandemic. Jamie W. and I went for a couple of rice plates without eating the rice because I appreciated the fact that they listed the calorie count with each dish. The $13.50 Garlic Shrimp was only 220 calories (photo: https://bit.ly/2Vg4SEj), while the $13.50 Wild Alaska Salmon was 250 (photo: https://bit.ly/37mVAMa). Both came with sides of steamed broccoli florets, japchae noodles, and a lot of rice. Even dumping the rice, we found the amount of food satisfying, especially the $3 extra for the side of tofu which was placed on both plates. Nice touch. FOOD - 4 stars...solid rice-optional plates full of Korean goodness AMBIANCE - n/a...the Public Market is a distant memory now SERVICE - 4 stars...pretty quick and easy TOTAL - 4 stars...good to see this business make it through this godforsaken plague RELATED - Exploring Emeryville? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/3fMN0dD

Yelp
I keep coming back to this place, mostly for their glass noodles! We always get the beef bulgogi box - a generous portion of tasty meat, steamed vegetables, white rice, and yummy glass noodles. I went 4 stars out of 5 because for the price, I'd love to see less rice and more noodles - I feel like the portion of noodles is on the smaller side and they compensate by packing a whole bunch of white rice in there that we don't end up finishing. Totally understand why food is priced the way it is right now - especially in this area, but I do consider it a bit of a splurge at one meal for $14. The ordering area is separate from the pick up area (just off to the left) and they have great safety measures in place. Since there's no indoor dining right now in Public Market, the space is wide open and super easy to keep your distance while waiting.
google avatar

Tiena L.

Yelp
I love Korean food so I wanted to give this spot a try. It was decent for fast food Korean but wasn't amazing. I wish it would come with kimchi and the glass noodles could use more flavor. The bulgogi wasn't overly sweet which was nice but it was still missing something. The spicy chicken looked really good and I would like to try that.
google avatar

Alex W.

Yelp
DO NOT COME HERE LOL. Insanely overpriced food with VERY small portions. I walked around public market and every restaurant had a line so I decided to try this place. Now I know why it didn't have any customers. I ordered the bulgogi plate with rice for 15.99 and the side of short rib. I thought I was getting at least 2 pieces for $6.99 but I got a dry, tiny strip. Title was $27 for this TINY plate of food. Save your money. Go eat ayce somewhere for almost the same price and way more meat.
google avatar

Tanya M.

Yelp
Hubby and I shared a bento box and it was just ok. The chicken was dry but had a good sauce with it, kim chee and short rib were my fav and it came fried gyoza, rice and jap chae noodles which we liked. Hubby and I were just glad we shared the box instead of getting our own. The food did its job to quench the hunger but we seriously were not satisfied. So we headed out and got some desserts elsewhere to make up for it and that time we didn't share LOL.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here once before and wasn't impressed with the quality or quantity of food. Service was poor and the food . . . was just O.K. This time I went with something a little bit more risqué. What I mean by that is usually when you order a dish that is not as popular as the rest, you might just come out with something you didn't want. I ordered the mackerel. I wasn't sure if it would be a small piece or a decent-sized piece. To my surprise, it was a full-size portion!! The fish was wonderful, so juicy and fatty and full of flavor. The only seasoning on it was salt. I was pleasantly surprised this time around. So for that, I have to give them a 4. Other wise they would have gotten a 3.
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
The chicken plate is always a solid choice at the public market. It comes with rice, glass noodles, and fresh broccoli and carrots.
google avatar

Jax A.

Yelp
Ordered the Short Rib & Chicken Bento Box yesterday. It was extremely bland and dry. They should have kept Sorabol @ the Public Market. A waste of $22...

Darrell L.

Yelp
Meh. Ordered the BBQ Chicken plate - it came back it in less than 5 mins! The chicken was warm (not hot) and dry AF! Definitely pre-made and had been sitting under the warmer. Last time you're getting my business. And, there was any anything "Korean" about this food either! Just run of the mill teriyaki chicken. Ya'll been warned!
google avatar

Samatar J.

Yelp
Got the spicy chicken bento box that comes with potstickers, veggies, rice, chap chae aka glass noodles, and kimchi. Highlight was probably the kimchi and glass noodles and they were just alright. The amount of chicken you get is kind of small and it's just overly coated in a very mediocre spicy sauce. Rice was just plain white rice and veggies needed more cooking. Potstickers were okay but I only ate 1 of the 3 bc I wasn't feeling them. It's kind of pricey for what you actually get and the quality is just okay, not worthwhile to go back if you ask me. Staff was friendly at least, a redeeming factor. The food came out within like 30 seconds, which was odd to me as fast foods aren't even that fast, so that should've been the first clue tbh. The places at the public market are all pretty mediocre and pricey and this kind of continues that streak.
google avatar

Don H.

Yelp
The Public Market in Emeryville has clearly improved over the years and there are many fine little dining establishments to choose from. NabiQ is a nice blend of Korean and Japanese food that was very delicious. The Bento boxes are a great deal and there kimchi was awesome.
google avatar

Jacqueline F.

Yelp
There used to be a spot here that served Korean food and it was on point! I absolutely loved it. It was sooooo good. And we really miss it. This is not that spot. But it's not horrible. We came here for a meal and he ordered and I nibbled a bit. It was fine, but not as good as the previous spot. I'd need to have the details on the full ingredients to make sure there's no seafood or gluten lurking in their foods, now that I'm allergic. But, they are fine enough for those without such restrictions.
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
Really really good!!! Everything i ordered was fresh, well seasoned, cooked perfect. I got the Bento box with Bulgogi beef. The beef was sliced very thin and just melted in your mouth. The rice was perfect and the vegetables were steamed thoroughly but still crunchy. The noodles were delicious as well, and, the Kimchi was spicy and crispy. It's like when, you just have a flavor in your mouth and you expect the food to have a certain taste? Yeah that's this restaurant. The offerings also include seafood, chicken, spicy chicken, tofu, and beef stew. #yelpelite #isupportasianowned #eatlocal

Yelp
First time trying since they just opened about a month ago. Didn't really know what I wanted but knew I didn't want sushi, Peruvian, asian fusion, Mexican, Indian, fried chicken....hmmm, I guess it's Korean today! Ordered the combo which comes with 2 meats (opted for the chicken and pork) and is accompanied with rice, japchae (clear noodles), 3 gyozas, kimchi and some steamed carrots and broccoli. Pricing not bad at $13.50 which is almost standard for lunch these days. - Nicely marinated meats, not dry - Japchae - okay, not the best I've had but decent - Gyozas - mini potstickers- not bad - Service - Quick and efficient - order at counter, handed a buzzer to alert you. About 5 mins I would definitely return to try the short ribs as that's usually some good stuff....and I see Karen K (First to Review) said it's "BOMBTASTIC" so approved and gotta get now!

Yelp
I visited the Emeryville Public Market for the first time in quite a while recently, and decided on NabiQ Korean BBQ for dinner. They have a fairly large menu, and after a while of deciding, I finally went with the spicy pork plate. It comes with spicy pork, veggies, japchae, and rice. I have to say that the spicy pork was very tasty! The japchae was as well. It initially didn't look like a lot of food in the plate when I first got it, but it definitely filled me up! The service was quick and friendly as well! I definitely recommend trying this spot out if you're at the Emeryville Public Market!
google avatar

Mary F.

Yelp
Quick, easy, and a better bang for your buck compared to some of the other vendors around... NabiQ was awesome. I enjoyed the spicy bbq chicken meal, which comes with rice, jap chae noodles, and some steamed veggies, with a good portion of meat (little over $10). They even have items on the menu under the category "lunch box" which are cheaper, depending on what you get. I have to check this place out again for that, because the lunch box items come with the above, and potstickers/gyoza. You get a buzzer after you order and pay, and get your meal from the counter, where you can also get water!

Yelp
Quick Summary: - They provide the tracker machine - Wait time was around ten minutes or less - Portion was good for a bowl of fried rice I ordered ramen from one place, but I knew I won't be full after eating it, so I came to NabiQ. For me, who has only visited the Public Market three times, this was a new restaurant. I love Korean BBQ, so the name caught my attention immediately upon entering the food cafeteria. When I approached the cashier, they handed me a menu with pictures. When it came to my turn, although the garlic shrimp did sound very appealing to me, I ordered the pork fried rice. They handed me the tracking machine, so I was able to go back to my seat and wait until the machine beeped and blinked. This only took around ten minutes or less, so I got the order piping hot. When I opened it, I was surprised by the almost equal ratio of the pork versus the rice. It was like eating a meal of pork and rice! The meat pieces were large but also quite tender when I bit into them. There were some charred parts, so some made dry crunchy noises. I liked the rice flavor too. The salt content was just right, so I was able to eat this without wanting cups of water. I would like to come back again to try the garlic shrimp for sure.

Yelp
I've visited NabiQ a couple of times within the last 6 months and usually enjoy the Chicken Bento Box with a shrimp tempura side. I placed the same order tonight and there wasn't a line and my order was ready relatively quick, but I ordered to go. Unfortunately, the shrimp tempura I received this evening was undercooked. It was not fresh as if not fully thawed. The chicken was ok, a couple of pieces were a bit stringy to me. I haven't had an issue in the past with my orders, so this time was a bit disappointing after spending $20+ tip and not being able to fully enjoy or finish the meal once home. With the exception of the rice and noodles and veggies, I had to scrap most of the plate. Tempura Shrimp Bento Box Chick Short Rib

Yelp
Ordered the spicy BBQ pork plate. Between how dry and tough the meat was and the excessively salty dark brown sauce slathered over, the pork was for all purposes inedible. I don't like to waste food but I had to toss it. The only redeeming portion was that the japchae, which was pretty good relative to what was on the plate.

Yelp
I used to work at this stand at this booth of the Public Market--I'm not sure if I even should post a review for this place, but I'll just share the one story I think the customer should be aware of: I was a cashier and I took a gentleman's order and he ended up choosing a tofu stew after asking the manager of a vegetarian dish he could eat. About ten minutes later, I see an ambulance outside, which is a little distracting because at my station, I face the entrance. The gentleman's friend came by and it was up to me to answer her questions about said manager like name and restaurant info. I asked what was wrong and she filled me in on what had happened: the customer had a pretty severe allergic reaction to something in the soup, so they asked if we used peanut butter or shellfish in the dish. The manager had then joined the conversation and then defensively LIED when she said there was no seafood in the dish...but there was shrimp in the dish... What bothers me most about this event is she felt ZERO remorse. She didn't even apologize or take responsibility when it was clearly her fault for having MADE the dish that almost killed him. Meanwhile, I felt so guilty about it that I was a little scared FOR her. I expected some sort of legal ramification out of this, but evidently, she is still in business. That's one of the biggest reasons why I left. She was only interested in saving her own ass rather than being a professional and sticking to the mantra, "The customer is always right." Well, guess what, they were right and I can vouch for them. And for those of you negative reviewers who noticed that the pot stickers were frozen, I can confirm that you are right. They were bought in bulk and stuck in the freezer until someone orders it. Not homemade at all.

Yelp
My friend and I ordered 2 BBQ chicken plates with extra noodles (for an extra $3 each). When we got home, we realized that we were not given the right plates (no extra noodles). When I called to see if I could get the price adjusted, they first said that they did include extra noodles, which was false, and then proceeded to tell me that the only way to get the price adjusted would be to drive all the way back to emeryville so they could see the plate. I asked to talk to the manager, but was informed that they wouldn't be in until 8PM, two hours after closing. Still haven't heard back from them. I used to like coming here, but after this I don't think I'll be back.
