Where to Find the Best Tacos in Jacksonville, Florida | Eater Miami

"What started as a small taco stand is now one of Jacksonville’s top taco places, Corner Taco. Located in the Five Points neighborhood, tucked behind the main strip of restaurants, this small locale is dishing out some of the most creative tacos in the city with fillings like sour cherry tenderloin Asada, General Tso’s chicken, and Southern fried catfish. The Wednesday specials change weekly and are entirely up to the chef, which keeps locals returning frequently. A recent favorite has been the Smashburger taco, which is precisely what it sounds like, made with a thin burger patty and cheese loaded into a taco shell."

Jess: The tacos are fine. The ground beef is under seasoned and everything is meh. It doesn't seem like they care about their food. Not really. #cincodemayo2025 Mike: it was actually okay. I liked it. I enjoyed the food. I would like to try it in person.

Google
Really awesome taco spot. We tried the carne asada (steak) and pulled chicken tacos with Mexican rice and black beans about 13 bucks for the plate. The rice and beans were good but the salsas and tacos were amazing. We will be going back in the future to get many many more! They only had outdoor seating but with some picnic tables and some tables under a sunshade it was great for the nice weather!

Google
Good portions, average food. Service was nice and the food was ready quick, but a bit lacking. The salsa tasted like it was only tomatoes, chips didn't taste like they were salted. I ordered the Nacho Taco salad, with shredded chicken and a soda. $18 and change with a tip

This is a wonderful Hispanic restaurant that caters to everyone, from carnivores to those on plant-based diets. I've visited frequently and have tried the yuca fries, vegan chorizo tacos, vegan chorizo burrito, vegan beef burrito, and churros. The owner and staff are generally very friendly. It's a small establishment, but it’s well-presented, and they have seating benches outside. There is one employee who sometimes has an attitude and has made mistakes with my order; nonetheless, I always wish her a good day and hope she feels better. Most of the food tastes great, but occasionally the yuca mix can be more starchy than yuca and a bit oily. When you place an order, be sure to specify which sauces you want; once you receive your order, you cannot change the sauces even if you haven't left the store or opened it yet. The sauce options include red salsa, a thicker burrito red sauce (one of my favorites), queso (cheese), and verde sauce (green sauce typically served with tacos). I recommend to everyone.

Best taqueria I have come across in Jacksonville. Seating is outdoor, perfect stop for an afternoon taco or two. Carne Asada tacos were tender and delicious.

Google
I LOVE the street tacos, chicken tacos, nacho bowl, and the chirrohs. The ingredients are fresh and delicious. Everyone is friendly. Once your food is ready they bring it out to you right away. They don't wait for you to come back to the counter. I can show you better than I can tell you. We've been eating here since we found this place. Each time we eat here we're never disappointed.

Google
Loved the outside seating set up and the food was really good for a really reasonable price. Cute little spot if the weather is nice.

Google
Had really high hopes when driving by - wanted some authentic street tacos. Was so disappointed by what their tacos actually were. I got carnitas on corn tortillas, they were so dry, covered in tomatos lettuce sour cream and some cheese. At least the yucca fritters were good but you could tell the guacamole wasn’t even fresh, just repackaged from a box. I’ll just wait to get to No Manches Wey next time.

Yelp
This is my favorite taco spot in Five Points which says a lot considering there's a taco spot on every corner. And I've tried them all, yes it's better than Taquiera Cinco, Mossfire and Bar Taco. It's a no frill place with outdoor seating and parking lot. It's a hole in the wall place that feels like a food truck converted to a small restaurant. The chicken feels fresh and not rubbery or dry. I love the Lime chicken skewers but make sure to order a side of rice and beans because the portion can be small. The Cali burrito has shredded chicken and it's huge. Only complaint is pass on the queso: it's too watery. Otherwise a reasonably priced and delicious place!

Yelp
Had lunch here. Super tiny spot with only outdoor seating. Food was tasty and hit the spot. Hubby and I shared nachos. Daughter and son in law each had a two taco platter- different options and both enjoyed theirs. Will go back for sure- walking distance from my daughter's- that's a plus ;)

Yelp
I dont have any negative to say but ialso dont have a ton of positives either. It wws just ok to me. The order was packed to perfection 5 stars for that. My Cali Burrito should have been more flavorful. If you smother it with the salsa and Queso it's fine but I wanted it to knock my socks off as a standalone but it didnt. It was filled to the max but the majority of the rice inside the burrito was crunchy unfortunately. I give it a 6.5/10. Today was an off day because they are normally some of the best burritos around. Will try again next month.

Yelp
I have been here a dozen times, but not very recently, so I wanted to give it a try and base my review off of my most recent experience. I'd call this place a shack. It is a small building and only offers outdoor seating. The parking lot is also very small. Although, the outside of the building and seating area is very cute and well taken care of. I ordered the supreme nachos with vegan chicken. Yum! This has always been my go to. They offer vegan options for all the meats, cheese, queso, sour cream, even the desserts have a vegan alternative. What a dream!! What did I love? The queso has great flavor and the portions are huge! The supreme nachos could feed two people. The vegan chicken they use is the Gardein brand (I didn't ask, but after years of being vegan I can just tell). What I would change? I got grilled onions added onto my nachos, but I would skip that next time. They were grilled nicely but they were chopped in very big pieces so you'd just get a mouthful of onion. I did order for pick up and when I got home I saw that the chips, queso, toppings, and salsa were all packed separate. This is a great touch so you don't have soggy nachos when you get home. Overall, I definitely recommend! Especially if you are vegan or vegetarian, this place is a must try.

Yelp
These tacos were booty. Dry, unseasoned and overpriced. My ancestors are ashamed at these so called "tacos". I've had better with taco kits from the store.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool little spot and easy to order. I got the pulled pork rice bowl and some chips and queso! The pulled pork bowl was so filling I barely ate any of the chips/dip! All of it was very tasty and I would definitely recommend it for a quick service and easy lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a little hidden gem in a nice neighborhood. They have picnic tables outside. All food is made fresh to order. Staff is friendly. I ordered the Tuesday special 2 tacos, chips and salsa and drink. You can choose from beef chicken or pork. I liked the beef the best. Very fresh ingredients. The salsa and verde were good. My wife got the pork empanada that was crispy.
google avatar

Yelp
This is dine outside or take to go only. Customer service was great. I love nachos, I usually never order any meat on it. My son is a vegetarian and I should have followed his lead, he got the vegetarian chorizo ( I don't care for Chorizo) so I ordered mine, with no sort of meat or meat substitute. I tasted his! WOW This chorizo, had so much flavor, now mine is bland! lol, Yes, give this place a try!
google avatar

Tonjameka S.

Yelp
Definitely a small place with no inside seating area. The outside is set up for eating. You order at the counter and then wait for your food. It does have plenty of vegetarian options
google avatar

Blair C.

Yelp
Omg. The nacho taco chicken nachos are DELICIOUS! They look a little bland but they taste amazingly. These are the first nachos that I've ever eaten that didn't have beans which was a bit of a shock but I'm not complaining. They did their thing! The service was great and I was very pleased. I would absolutely be back again! I didn't even get a chance to take a picture because I ate them so quickly.
google avatar

Fay W.

Yelp
SOOOOOO GOOD! So my husband and I decided to try this based on a friend's recommendation and we are so glad we did. The portions were generous, the price was solid and I LOVED they put the beans and stuff in separate containers so everything didn't get mushy! I had the chicken chimichanga and my husband had asada tacos and both were delicious. We have since gone back a few times and are never disappointed!
google avatar

Yelp
For Matt, Whatever. What business owner leaves a comment like that. Well your non professional feedback has lost you many customers that I assure you.

Yelp
Nacho Taco has a special place in my heart. More specifically, their yuca fries have a place in my heart. I used to go here all the time when I lived in Riverside. Now that I live over in Mandarin, I still manage to make the trip over to Riverside from time to time. Especially when I'm craving their yuca fries and queso. Overall, Nacho Taco is a good spot for some good tacos and burritos. We usually have to wait quite awhile for our food (25-30 minutes for our order this time) and sometimes there are things missing (I was missing toppings on my tacos this time around) but overall, this place serves up good vibes and tasty food. I think the yuca fries might be the reason our food always takes so long to get outside to us. Regardless, I would recommend ordering ahead for pick up if you're in a rush. This is a busy spot and you can see from my photos that they're pretty small. Be patient or order ahead. I promise that the food is worth it!

Yelp
Nacho Taco is absolutely delicious! They also have some of the best vegan/vegetarian options. Always excited to eat here!

Yelp
This place is incredible. I'd highly recommend this to anyone, some of the best tacos I've ate in Jacksonville!

Yelp
Amazing food, HUGE burritos!!!! Friendly staff, always a good time, never a disappointment.

Yelp
We ordered this food for delivery through Grubhub and were so impressed. I was excited to see how many vegetarian options they had right off the bat. I checked the Yelp reviews and decided to try it. My boyfriend ordered a burrito with beef, and it probably weighed 5 pounds. It was huge! I went with a burrito bowl with vegetarian beef crumbles. This literally fed me FOUR meals. The prices were right, and the food was fresh and delicious. We also tried chips, salsa, and guacamole. The only thing I didn't love was the guac, but the salsa was awesome. We definitely plan to visit the actual shop to eat at next time. Great first impression from a "new to us" Mexican restaurant.

Yelp
In love with there vegan options. My fav is the chimichangas (vegan beef). They also have vegan chicken, chorizo, and veggies. The employees are all super nice and services is very quick.
google avatar

Yelp
It's food. You can eat it...Don't order anything with chicken unless you like unseasoned pulled chicken breast. Nice location. Seems like lots of foot traffic. A "C" at best. Very meh.

Yelp
This is an AMAZING Mexican Restaurant. This is an AMAZING Vegan Restaurant. How can it be both? I am not sure, but the did it. First the Mexican food, so fresh, so tasty and as spicy as you want it. Chili Lime Skewer - was my lunch go to, perfect portion for lunch, tremendous flavor. Fajitas Nachos - flavor party in you mouth, enough for at least two people, my favorite. Cali- Burritto - when you want to impress your friends with how much you can eat. Enchilada Plate - was good, but no longer on the menu. Taco salad - one of the best I have had anywhere Salsa - you can make your choice - hot, mild, medium. Red, green, darker red. All fresh. No, since I have been eating vegan most of the time now, the menu took on a whole new meaning. Vegan Chicken - I thought it was real chicken, fabulous and diced. Vegan Burrito - oh my, I ate half and was stuffed. Vegan Cheese - this was fantastic, you can drink it. There are other vegan choices and I plan to get around to them. Things like vegan Chorizo and Vegan beef. Service is always so friendly and any request they try to meet if they can. Parking is on the street and there is not a ton of it. There is outside seating on the cooler days, most people seem to take out or get delivery. This is not one to miss, it really is that good.

Yelp
I was really disappointed with this visit. The food tasted fine, but the service was really disappointing, and I got sick from the food. The person taking the order wasn't very friendly, but normally I would not leave a review just for that. I saw on the board that it said I could have a free salsa if I checked in on Yelp. So I proceeded to check in, and I presented the coupon to the cashier. As I was showing it to him, he flippantly said We don't do that anymore. I pointed out that it was still advertised on the whiteboard and Yelp, and he simply shrugged. I understand that sometimes restaurants have to discontinue previous deals, but the flippant and rude way he responded to me, and the total unwillingness to offer anything to make up for it, was very frustrating.
google avatar

Kristian J.

Yelp
Such an amazing hole-in-the-wall I found them one day scrolling through DoorDash and didn't realize they were close by. The always separate everything when you do to-go orders and that's always a great thing for me. I always get the supreme nachos and they are the bomb! You can customize everything too!
google avatar

Yelp
I have never posted a Yelp review but I had to for Nacho Taco - let me get to rantin'! I have lived in Jacksonville for over 5 years now, and lived in Riverside for a spell, and when I say this place is the best Mexican food ever in the city, I promise I mean it. I don't even know why, I think it's a mix between locale, employees, food, and consistency. I love the vibe, and I love the location. Yeah it's outdoor only, which if that isn't your thing, you might need to look elsewhere, but nothing beats sipping on a cold Jarritos after walking around aesthetic little Riverside. You're right near Five Points, and the shops on Stockton are like two steps away. Prime real estate. Every time I come by here, no matter the day or time, the employees are so chill and match the vibe you'd expect the little taco shack to have. I wish I had the name of one of the folks who most regularly rings me out but they've got gauges and they're super cool so - thanks to them And lastly...the food. It's so good, always warm, always consistent, and the prices, while I'm sure they've gone up, I feel like the portions are appropriate for the price. All around, Nacho Taco reigns supreme.

Terry P.

Yelp
I have visited the place for tacos. They were outstanding. Few days ago ordered a beef burrito on Monday Worst tasting . Hopefully a bad day.
google avatar

Chelsea R.

Yelp
UH YES. I ordered from here off of Grubhub. I've had more bad experiences from Grubhub than good ones-to be honest. But this meal was so awesome I had to come on here and make a review. First off, my food arrived faster than quoted from Grubhub! That like, NEVER happens. Also, everything I ordered came, the way I ordered it! Woo! Crazy pickled jalapeños, xtra guacamole and all! Woo! And then of course, the entire reason I came to write this review-WOW! The food was DELICIOUS! Sometimes I feel that somehow, delivery really degrades the taste of food. The taste, the presentation, typically goes to shit for the people that order delivery. But not here!! It's like we were eating right there! I ordered the fajita nachos which were EXCELLENT! Tonsss of topping to cover every chip. And I got two tacos. The El Pastor and a Carne Asada. Both equally delicious! I got chips with both entrees! I got plenty of napkins and silverware. They really take care of their delivery patrons. I can't wait to take my hubby here when he gets home from deployment. He's going to LOVE it!
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
SO GOOD! I like their taco salads and burritos and I love that they have vegan options as well. They're good for going there or if you order delivery on an app. Probably my favorite for quick and easy "mexican" style food!
google avatar

Jamie W.

Yelp
I love this taco spot. We've been before and I swore I wrote a review, but alas I must have snoozed on that. Terrific tiny spot with only outdoor seating of two picnic tables. They are covered so you are shaded from the sun if you come midday. Order at the window and they bring it out to you to go or to your table. I've only had the tacos, but let me tell you, they are so flavorful. Their chorizo taco is one of my all-time faves. It has a nice kick to it. Their pork tacos are so juicy and delicious too. They also have a green chili sauce that is amazing. Staff is so friendly and always come out to the tables to chat for a bit. I've got to come and try some of the other offerings, but it's so hard when you know the tacos are crazy good.
google avatar

Rashad H.

Yelp
I've driven past this restaurant for years and I've never tried it before until today. I was starving so I got the steak burrito, which was recommended by the cashier who rung me up. It was pretty good, my only beef (get it, beef?) is if y'all gonna charge me 15 for a burrito at least make sure it doesn't unravel. Other than that it's a pretty decent spot.

Yelp
So last night I stopped by for a quick bite while totally forgetting it was Taco Tuesday! Oh yes Oh yes! That's why this place is packed this late at night, or is it always this way????who knows ...but all I know is Chicken soft tacos are coming my way. I usually order the combo plate with the beans and rice, but this evening I just got the chicken soft tacos, which were loaded with cheese and tomatoes and I guess they call them all the way. They Taco Tuesday meal also comes with a bag of chips and salsas. I decided to order a side of guacamole to go with my chips, because #1, I love me some guacamole and #2, I had never tried their guacamole. Holy Guacamole was a this stuff good. It's creamy and so smooth with just a few chunks here and there. It's not overly seasoned with onion or cilantro for those who avoid because of spicy conditions. I dipped my chips in the guacamole buttery goodness before I even took a bite of the tacos. I can see guacamole will now be a must have on my future visits, it's that good! The chicken soft tacos were as usual, amazingly delicious. I love that they give you slices of lime to squeeze on your tacos. This just makes for another flavor dimension. So good-So good-So good!
google avatar

Chris J.

Yelp
I love this place because it is no frills which allows them to focus on the quality of the food. I love their chimichangas and queso. My only complaint is that I cannot get the more often because of my schedule. The staff are always nice and are great at giving recommendations. Kudos!
google avatar

Elyse S.

Yelp
We've been coming here for 2 years. It's one of our go-to's due to their great selection (dairy free cheese and sour cream and vegan options)! Great for vegans and omnivores alike. However, our visit today was a huge disappointment. We ordered chips and salsa and guac with our meal. The chips were cold and stale, and the guac was no longer fresh/ homemade. If this is what we can expect going forward, we will not be back. :(
google avatar

Gary M.

Yelp
Small location with outdoor seating. Buffalo-Texans football game in television. T.V. uses rabbit ears, bladt from the past! I had a chicken and beef empanada. Both were tasty with plenty of chicken and beef in the empanada. Tasty along with ime Jarrito soda. Will be back to try all the rest on a varied menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place!! The Food is delicious!! Nachos, tacos, burritos, everything I have tried is so good!!!

Yelp
Super fun place in Riverside. There is a small place to order j side at a counter then go outside to sit and wait for tacos. They have multiple vegan options to pick from! We were the only "dine in" orders but seemed to be a lot of to-go orders...our order took a lot longer than I expected for being the only ones eating in. BUT once the food come it was delicious and there is a ton of protein in each taco. We got the plates with beans and rice. Rice wasn't that good but beans were yummy! It also came with chips and 2 salsa which was a surprise but they were very good also. Can't wait to go back and try different options!
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
Always consistent with no surprises! I'm a regular at this place. Authentic place and the service is always on time. Refried beans just right

Yelp
Amazing vegan options with delicious tacos, burritos, chips, and snacks for any occasion

Yelp
This place is very good! The food and services is excellent. They are very dog friendly. The staff even brought out water for my dog. We will definitely be back...

Yelp
I've eaten here several times but always got tacos , I wanted to try the Cali burrito this time which was yummy to flavor , but who ever stuffs the burritos should take some notes from chipotle bc their rolling skills sucked ass , I had to continue to grasp it to where it wouldn't fall apart then all the cheese was literally at the bottom . All the ingredients were poorly layered. Just terrible . And they didn't put no napkins in the bag , who eats a sloppy burrito with no napkins

Yelp
I ordered delivery through Doordash.....not necessarily due to Covid, but I was simply too lazy to get out of my pajamas. I pored over the reviews beforehand, and was delighted to see so many people rant and rave about the food, so I was expecting nothing less than a 4-5 star experience. Regrettably, that's not the case. I ordered the Chimichanga, and paid $1 extra for Carne Asada. It comes with a side of Mexican Salad, Refried Beans, Chips, Salsa, and Queso. When I first opened the container, everything seemed in order. The salad is pretty basic, with shredded iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes, and crumbled cheese. I sampled the Refried Beans, they had a smooth, creamy consistency, and were quite enjoyable. The Chimichangas, however....ugh. I cannot. I just.....ok so I cut into it and instead of sumptuous shreds of Carne Asada, there were what I can only describe as dehydrated ground beef crumbles. It was a total "WTF?....." moment. Great....I paid extra for steak and got jerky. Being that I was famished and not wanting to waste food, I tried it anyways. The tortilla had a nice crispness to it, but from there it's all downhill. Not a hint of seasoning was noted and the dry, crumbly texture of the beef was too off-putting. Needless to say, I didn't finish. I don't get it. I mean really, what the f*ck was THAT? When are the refried beans ever better than the main course??? Even the chips and melty queso were decent (add a star for the sides). Obviously there's a ton of you out there that were served fresh, flavorful, potentially life-altering dishes, but sadly, I have to disagree. Perhaps if I was given the right dish in the first place, then this review would be completely different. Till next time, my fellow Yeeps, thanks for reading, stay safe, and as always....SYOY!

Yelp
I have enjoyed the Nacho Taco Salad from the Stockton Street location in Jacksonville, FL with black beans and extra sour cream since I was introduced in 2019. In the last year I moved to the Southside, yet had someone go get the order and the ALWAYS left off the "extra sour cream". It happened so often I would call back to tell them about BUT kept going. Today, 23 AUG21 was the final mistake. I called on the order, it was repeated back, and I learned they raised the price from $8.99 to $9.99... no problem instead of just being assured they would put "extra" sour cream "on" the salad they upsold me two little containers of sour cream. It arrived I called back as no blackbeans were on it. I was told the kitchen said they remembered putting blackbeans on the salad ( which are normally placed in the bowl first, therefore on the BOTTOM. I asked how many of those salads has the kitchen made, in other words, so they claim to SPECIFICALLY remember my order? I asked for a number to send pic. The manager gets on the phone and says she will send me "more" beans but they see black beans in the picture. I said, No,, you're NOT sending me more of anything,, you're sending the blackbeans I PAID for. She sent the same picture back with a shadow circled, as my picture was taken too closely. I asked her if she was crazy and thought I would send a picture that included what I'm saying is missing. I then sent 3 more pictures where I dug through the salad in several areas to the bottom to show NO BLACKBEANS were on the salad. I told her I would NEVER order again. When the driver got here I showed the driver. I'm so over inferior serve and these managers who have no customer service skills. The proof was in the pictures and the eye witness. I pay for what I want and REFUSE to be questioned about what a picture proves.

Yelp
Best nachos in Jax hands down! Chicken nachos are the best of the options. For protein. You won't regret it and you will crave it.
google avatar

Veronica M.

Yelp
From the outside, this looks similar to an authentic Mexican taco stand, and the menu looked promising. We were very disappointed. Where we live in Georgia, there are numerous options for authentic tacos, so I'm not sure how this place missed the mark so badly. Of our tacos, only the chicken ones were passable. The asada meat was grey, unseasoned, and tasted old. The pastor was not real pastor; the meat was ground pork, and the seasoning was way off. We also got a cheese quesadilla and the cheese was clumpy and barely melted. For the price, this is ridiculous. I would not recommend this place. I would put zero stars if I could.

Yelp
Always a good meal feom Nacho Taco. Im a sucker for their vegan chorizo nachos. It is very flavorful and a filling meal that always leave me happy and full. Im not vegan but enjoyed the nacho all the way vegan from cheese to spur cream. Their team is friendly and helpful. Whatelse could you ask for.

Yelp
Smells good, great local place and just opened up. Easy access from 95, and great specials. Check these guys out for a great tasting mexiamerican food in jax

Yelp
It USE to be soooo good. Not sure what happened but I just picked up dinner from there and it was so disappointing. My burrito was bland and my Queso chips were so stale I couldn't eat them. I paid almost $20 for this so I won't be back! AND they completely left out the refried beans I asked for! NEVER AGAIN

Anita H.

Yelp
The fact that they're in walking distance is dangerous. This place is so good! Love the nachos and dessert chimichangas!
google avatar

Pete M.

Yelp
Outstanding! Lots of vegan and gluten-free options within all the nice options already to choose from. There are multiple tables outside that are fairly well spaced out and it's underneath a shaded canopy. The staff is very friendly and your food will be brought out to the table where you can wait. There are several flavored sodas to choose from so be ready for some sugar! We chose to eat here this time, but we have mostly taken it to go. We will definitely be back....

Yelp
Nacho Taco is a hidden gem in Jax! It's a walk-up to-go restaurant. They do have some outdoor seating, but I consider this a to-go joint through and through. I am a big fan of their menu, prices, and their vegan options! My favorite order is the vegan chorizo burrito made cali style. I can't recommend it enough! I do feel they shortchange you on chips, but maybe it's better for me that they limit my chip intake... This place has definitely been hit by COVID and is short-staffed at the moment. Be patient and show them love when you go!

Yelp
A wise man once said, "don't judge a book by its cover." Tonight, on Oct. 19th, 2017 I'm making my own bold proclamation, which is more of a light-hearted threat... If you're not a fan of Nacho Taco, I'm not a fan of you! It sounds harsh, but my adoration for local taco shops is through the roof. Everyone nowadays is a self-proclaimed taco expert. Do you make authentic tacos from home? Do you hand press your own corn tortillas? Do you cook meats low and slow for several hours? Probs not. Good thing for us, Nacho Taco, the little hole-in-the-wall taco shop on Stockton, delivers bona fide street food. It's not cheaply seasoned or sloppily thrown together. The sauces, tacos, and sides are bonkers. Holla, holla to the Refried Beans prepared by angels from up above. If these were sold in a ten pound bucket, I would've strutted home with seven buckets. The tacos are double wrapped, topped with onion and cilantro, and filled with tender Al Pastor. *Nacho Taco like a pro by parking street side, ordering pick up, or dining outside, since there's no indoor seating. Get on it, taco fanatics!
