"Forget classic salmon and tuna nigiri and temaki and surrender to a new Japanese experience. This prestigious establishment, which belongs to a group with another branch in São Paulo, introduces ingredients rarely used in most Japanese restaurants, seducing and surprising you with each dish. Begin with the white fish Ussuzukuri (cut into ultra-fine slices and served with ponzu sauce) and move on to Patagonian toothfish missoyaki, not forgetting the sashimi of sea urchin eggs in lemon." - Michelin Inspector

Excellent place for sushi in the Village Mall, a short drive if you are staying on the beach in Barra! Our servers helped our group select several rounds of different rolls and other favorites - everything was fantastic!

Great sushi restaurant in an upscale shopping mall top floor. The place is very relaxing and well decorated. The good quality is good and good choices of sushi, including toro, unagi and uni, that are not available in sushi restaurants in Brazil.

Excellent place to have very good sushi and Japanese food in generell. The mall is never packed and easy accessible, the stuff at Naga are very nice and did. I mention the amazing food before?! Def. a very good spot to have lunch and to take a break from shopping

The chef is so creative and offer TIER 1 quality Japanese food. I think he is so close to a Michelin star with respect to his foods. I personally like his food a lot. Not hard but not soft sushi rice with the perfect amount of the sushi vinegar, with sometimes his creativity with black truffle or caviar. The only reason I give four stars is because of the service. First, as a high quality restaurant, their waiters/waitresses can’t speak English, only the chef can speak. Second, the service is far away from Michelin star, not only the details but also the friendliness. I hope there will be some changes of the service and the chef will be rated with Michelin stars.

Elegant restaurant, beautiful decoration and very good Japanese food. Not traditional, but very tasty sushis and sashimis with fresh fish and good rice.

The most amazing Japanese restaurant in Rio!

Yelp
My wife and I experienced Naga for the first time and LOVED it. Located in a super-upscale mall in Barra da Tijuca, this restaurant is really excellent. First off, this is the freshest fish we've had in Rio in the last 20 years. For me, this is the single biggest factor in a sushi spot. Also, the menu is ample - loads of hit and cool Japanese foods. We started with Hana Nira - garlic sprouts. Warm with lovely teriyaki-type sauce. Then, we had grilled octopus. It was really good...perhaps a bit chewy. Our main course was a Combinagi platter of sushi, sashimi, and rolls. Five types of fish were on this combo platter. Everything was tasty and terrific. Little to no wasabi on the sushi so you might request more wasabi if you really want that heat. For dessert, we had the creme brulee crepe with apples and ice cream. Amazing. The golden-buttery sauce was off the charts delicious.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and really fresh tasting sashimi. The staff was really welcoming and were willing to give explanations about every plate. The prices were a little too salty but definitely worth it! A must go in Rio!

Yelp
you should try the bluefin toro... amazing. Yes, the price can be a little bit steep, but it's worthy. Great service and great ambient .
