The 38 Best Restaurants in New Delhi, India | Eater

"Price Range: $$$ Delhi’s drinking culture has a long way to go, despite the city’s reputation for having India’s most devout party people. Bars are mostly expensive and gimmicky, while informal ones can be difficult to get to and from and often only accessible to men. That’s mainly why drinking with friends often takes place in restaurants that have a liquor license and serve Indian Chinese food. Nagaland’s Kitchen is not an Indo Chinese restaurant but has popular snacks from the cuisine on the menu as well as Naga snacks, which take everything up a notch. The restaurant, located in an old Delhi marketplace, retains a comfortable, well-lit atmosphere, and has a loyal clientele that makes this feel like a neighborhood bar. Here, get a Chinese or Nepalese starter (the Himalayan momos are especially good), but also dishes like pork ribs, smoked Naga chicken, and chicken wings with Raja Mircha (ghost chile pepper). Know before you go: As of late, the restaurant also has Thai food and a wine menu, plush offerings in Delhi but at affordable prices here." - Sharanya Deepak

In Delhi, there are many North Eastern restaurants to choose from, but when it comes to food quality, Nagaland’s Kitchen truly stands out. The flavors here are authentic, rich, and absolutely worth experiencing — though the prices are a little on the higher side. I ordered Fruit Beer, Smoked Pork with Axone Curry, Shrimp Chutney, and Rice. The smoked pork — ufff — so tender, smoky, and bursting with flavor. The shrimp chutney was equally amazing, with a perfect balance of spice and tang. And the fruit beer? Chilled, refreshing, and simply delightful. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but the taste and quality make it worth every bite. If you’re in New Delhi and want to try genuine Naga cuisine, Nagaland’s Kitchen is a must-visit.

Perfect place for a nice lunch with good ambience and good taste. Smoked chicken and fish with bamboo shoot was fab. They serve cocktails whole day and their preparation was awesome. If you go there, please try black rice pudding. It was yummy.

Nagaland's Kitchen is quite the hidden gem in green park. Located very close to the Green park metro, it is quite the place to try naga cuisine. They tried to recreate naga architecture in the restaurant by adding bamboo accents but the lighting is a tad bit too dim. The staff is quite polite and courteous. We got the steamed chicken momos which were so soft and juicy. The best part was their spring onion oil that was so delightful. We also had the spicy basil chicken which was quite spicy and delicious. We also got ourselves cocktails which went very well with the food and were quite potent. A must visit when in green park.

Located at Uphaar cinema complex at Green Park area, this restaurant gives you a true taste of Nagaland with its simple yet flavorful dishes. Finding parking is difficult here. The place is cozy, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant offers happy hours drinks and full day cocktails. We had Naga warrior (a cocktail), Pork thali, pan fried vegetable noodles, Pork bamboo shoot curry, Prawn thai green curry, Bamboo shoot chilli prawns, Smoked pork with anishi and black rice pudding. The preparations were full of earthy, smoky flavors and made with traditional local ingredients like bamboo shoot and herbs. Every bite feels like a warm journey into Naga culture. The place is a bit expensive but it’s a great spot to try something different and enjoy the richness of Northeast Indian food sitting at Delhi.

July 6, 2025 – Day 3 in India We’ve been traveling since June 5—cruising through Europe, staying in hotels, and eating mostly cruise or hotel meals along the way. It’s been a beautiful journey, but food hasn’t always felt personal or deeply satisfying. When we arrived in Delhi two days ago, my dearest friend Li told me I had to try Nagaland’s Kitchen. She even made a reservation for us that same evening, but I had a full-day salon appointment and couldn’t make it. The next day, I hoped we could finally go, but our kids were tired and preferred to stay in. So we ate at the hotel restaurant instead. Then today, same story—the kids just wanted to relax in the room, so we ordered room service for them. I was a little disappointed… but my husband lifted my spirits by offering to order delivery from Nagaland’s Kitchen for me. I was so excited. Li had mentioned that the restaurant delivers directly, which I really appreciated over using a third-party app. I called and asked for Ravi, as she had suggested. He wasn’t available, but Ashish kindly took over and helped us place the order. We got everything Li had recommended: pork ribs, fish wrapped in bamboo shoot, chicken raja mircha, two servings of rice, and a side of raja mircha chutney—because I’m a chilihead and couldn’t resist. Ashish said the food would arrive in about 40 minutes. While we waited, I was reminded of a special memory—over eight years ago, my other dear friend Yang had taken me to this very restaurant during our previous trip to India. We had spent the whole day together and shared a beautiful meal that I’ll never forget. It made me even more excited for dinner tonight. When the food arrived, Santosh called from the hotel lobby. Everything was packed with so much care—sealed securely, nothing had leaked, and everything was still piping hot. I was truly impressed. And the food? Absolutely incredible. The pork ribs were tender and flavorful, the fish in bamboo shoot had that signature tangy earthiness I’ve come to love in Naga cuisine, and the chicken raja mircha was bold, spicy, and deeply satisfying. The raja mircha chutney was pure fire—in the best way. Every bite was rich in flavor and comfort. My husband and I shared the meal. He finished quickly, while I took my time, savoring each bite. After so many hotel and cruise meals, this was the first one in weeks that truly felt soulful. It reminded me why I fell in love with Naga food in the first place. It felt like coming home—even though it’s not the food I grew up with, it’s the food my heart connects with. Deep gratitude to Ashish and Santosh for their warmth and care, and to the entire team at Nagaland Kitchen for maintaining such beautiful standards. And to my wonderful friends Li and Yang—thank you for leading me back to this experience. Tonight’s meal was more than just dinner. It was comfort, memory, and joy—all wrapped into one.

It's an adorable, cozy Northeastern food restaurant nestled in Green Park Extension. The staff is incredibly welcoming and adept at suggesting menu items. During Christmas, they beautifully decorate the entire establishment and prepare fresh mulled wine, a delightful treat for Delhi's winter. This restaurant has always been a favorite, particularly for its juicy and flavorful Himalayan dumplings. And of course, their spicy sauces are the perfect complement. Beyond that, I highly recommend the chili chicken (perfectly spiced), the incredibly juicy spicy fried wings (with a spicy kick), and the Thai-style fried chicken (slightly sweet and crispy) for those who prefer less spice. For a main course, I find the comforting vegetable pan-fried noodles to be a must-try. The vegetables and broth make it a perfect dish. I tried black rice pudding for the first time, and it was quite interesting. I was surprised by its sticky texture, which reminded me of chocolate brownie fudge. I'm very glad I tried this dessert; it's become one of my favorites! I adore this place, both its food and its cozy atmosphere.

Recommended by our hotel manager we tried some Eastern India cusine at Nagaland's Kitchen and we ordered this food via delivery. We ended up having the Pork Raja Mircha Dumpling and the Pork Ribs with Mild Raja Mircha Dip. The Pork Dumplings were really nice, great flavor while it had us feeling full and satisfied. The pork ribs flavor was nice but the meat was mostly fat, that was the downside to this. We ate some pieces because the flavoring was nice but it was just too much fat.
