This cosy Japanese cafe, situated near Tate Modern, is definitely a popular spot, as there was already a long queue when we arrived around midday. Sadly, all the bagels were sold out by the time we reached the counter! Nonetheless, we were excited to try their signature Uji daifuku mochi bun, which had a texture similar to bagels, so I was still happy.
The bun is topped with red beans and butter, creating a delightful balance of sweetness and saltiness, and it's filled with a matcha paste in the centre that's almost like egg yolk, paired with a chewy mochi. The hojicha latte was a lovely addition to the meal, though not exactly a surprise.
Since indoor seating is limited it's definitely worth stopping by early if you want to sample more of their delicious offerings!
