Very good experience. Food was very good and better than we were expecting. We had the caterpillar sushi roll (8 pieces & $12), the Bulgogi ($19) and the Spicy Tonkotsu ($15). The tonkotsu was huge and the other portions were good too. Portions are very good for the price. Staff was friendly and food came quickly. Went on a Monday afternoon and they were empty. Easy parking and good bathroom.

I’ve been to a number of Korean bbq places and this is unfortunately at the bottom of the list. A lot of restaurants have increased their prices but it was still worth it. This one had first, a small serving and second, the meat tastes OLD. It tastes like it has been sitting in the freezer for over a year and we were the first customers to order it. The meat was barely cooking even though we adjusted the fire from med to high. There was just no fat, even the sauce couldn’t hide the foul taste 🤢🥩 It looked like I was cooking those kids play food that they play with. The staff, though, were very pleasant. We were seated right away and she would check up on us from time to time. I normally get a couple of the fish cakes banchan but it was hard and just like the meat, tasted old. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED since I have been looking to trying new Korean bbq places. I have nothing to say about the rolls or the other Japanese food but as for the bbq, it is a 2/10. Got a score because of great customer service. The hot tea was good and there was only a little meat in the soup.

It was a pleasant experience dining here. I particularly liked the cleanliness of their place along with the service. I ordered bibimbap, which was very nice, served with three separate types of kimchi. One can mix the gochujang sauce as much as you'd like. We ordered multiple sushi dishes. All of them were exceptionally good. Their Udon is awesome probably better than the ramen. I'm still a bit conservative about the sashimi. Overall I am pretty satisfied.

Google
Worst restaurant in Ann Arbor. The chicken tastes off… it tastes gamely… and a weird taste. They can’t even figure out how to light up the fire for Budae-jjigae. They don’t know how to change it. And they even switched it with an empty one. Heaven knows how they organize the items they’re gonna to discard. They can’t tell the new ones from the used ones.

Oh my goodness, you MUST eat here! The food is so delicious and the service is great. We have never dined at a Korean restaurant before and it was a great experience. I can't tell you the names of the dishes we had, but they were very good. We also ordered sushi which came out quickly and was also very tasty. Their ramen was rich and wonderful and yum and I'm running out of adjectives to describe how good their food is. Mark Nagomi down on the "just go and enjoy" list.

I ordered takeout, 2 shrimp tempura rolls and vegetable tempura appetizer, from Nagomi on a weekday. My order was ready in about 15 minutes. The food was fresh and flavorful. I really liked the vegetable tempura and was surprised that broccoli was included in addition to the typical onion, potato, and carrot. The veggies or at least the broccoli were so soft and I think they are perhaps precooked prior to frying. I recommend the tempura appetizer for people to share as there was enough to share with another person. The shrimp tempura roll was just as I expected. Nagomi is a new place that I will be adding to my list of places to pick up lunch while working in Ann Arbor. I want to try other dishes as there are a lot of yummy options. The restaurant has ample seating to accommodate multiple small groups and large groups.

My daughter wanted Asian cuisine for her birthday so we drove to   Nagomi sushi and Korean BBQ  in Michigan. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time we went. The decor of the restaurant was nice  The spices and flavors of the different dishes delicious and the meats are cooked well.  Portions size was ok  and the cost a little high but that's to be expected. We order, chicken curry, katsu chicken curry, Nabeyaki, Tonkotsu, fried wings, Nagomi speciality wings, yum yum sushi, rainbow sushi, crab, shrimp sushi and donburi katsu.

Google
Food was very bland and not worth the price. Ramen broth was super watery. I could make it better on my first try. Bibimbap had no flavor after I squeezed tons of sauce on it. My boyfriend agreed and said it was the worst dining experience he had in the past year.

Yelp
Best sushi prices in Ann Arbor, hands-down it's all fresh phenomenal sushi. The Ramen is really good too Great atmosphere and you can always find a spot to sit. I can't vouch for the Korean barbecue because I haven't had it yet but everything off the menu has been sensational. Service is great the ladies are always so sweet to you when you go!

Yelp
Finally made it back after few years for lunch with another friend. Got shrimp tempura, budae chigae and kalbi tang. Shrimp tempura looked soggy, lacked crispiness that you expect with any tempura and was very disappointed with the tempura dish. The kalbi tang looked like an egg drop soup with some short ribs in them. I also only found like 3 glass noodles in the soup. Both kalbi tang and budae chigae had a lot of beef dashida flavoring, which was bit overwhelming unfortunately. Service was decent, as it got busier, the two wait staff members were busy. The interior hasn't changed since my last visit... please work on the tempura and the Korean dishes, as they need a lot of TLC!

Yelp
Underrated for their Korean and Japanese food! I personally think their Korean food is better here, but there are a few Japanese dishes that are really great too. I ordered their soondubu and it was so flavorful and delicious, honestly the best soondubu I've had in Ann Arbor so far. Their Fancy Fancy roll is another favorite of mine (I'm a big salmon fan). I highly recommend this place if you're looking for decent local Asian food. The space is also quite clean and spacious and if you love jazz, they play a bunch of fire standards on the speakers.

Lisa L.

Yelp
Wow, the service was amazing and their Korean food quality was superb. The soup was authentic broth! We had Kalbitang and soondaegook. Because it was so good also took a tantamen to take out and their service was amazing. We are coming back tomorrow!

Yelp
I ordered sushi for delivery from Nagomi last night and was pretty impressed with the quality for the price. The menu is huge and a bit overwhelming - there are tons of rolls on offer, both specialty and traditional, as well as plenty of korean dishes and japanese dishes (like katsu) and hot pot. Slightly overwhelmed with the options, I chose two speciality rolls - one being the "Salmon on the beach" which came with avocado, cream cheese, and crab meat wrapped with salmon, flame torched - $8.50. I thought this roll was excellent and very large for the price. At under $10 it's much cheaper than speciality rolls at any other places in A2. The second roll I ordered was another one of the staff recommended rolls and was quite a bit more expensive at $16. It was called the "Jewel" and contained shrimp tempura, crab meat, avocado, and cucumber wrapped with tuna, salmon, and snapper topped with 3 kinds of tobiko, spicy mayo, eel sauce, spicy mayo, and wasabi mayo. It was definitely a large roll and was honestly even a bit difficult to eat as a result. It was tasty but idk if I'd order it again given the price and how the size created quite a mess when trying to eat it. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not but they also included some banchan in my bag for delivery which was a nice touch although none of the banchan were very good in my opinion. Not a bad option for sushi in the area but will keep searching.

Yelp
We tried the kalbi, bulgogi, and chicken teriyaki. Kalbi was good. Bulgogi was not as tender as some but it was ok and the chicken was a little bland. No japchae on the menu.

Yelp
Wife and I always make this a stop when at U of M taking son out to dinner. The service is unbelievable to watch they actually are running, fast walking moving and grooving to please their customers and they do. The sushi is out of bounds each and every time and their is so many to choose from. There is a Korean BBQ in this restaurant too if your in the mood for some good BBQ. Go Blue!

Therresa B.

Yelp
If I only got the soon doboo, I would give the place a 4 definitely. The soon doboo is so flavorful, I really enjoyed it! However, the salmon on the beach roll is too creamy for me, I thought it has too much cream cheese and mayo on it. There were also small pieces of salmon that were just overpowered by the sauce. I would come back for the soon doboo and the katsu donburi though!

Sonja M.

Yelp
i've been coming here since i was a kid- the staff are so nice and the food is delicious!! just tried the bibimbap and it was incredible. one of my all time favorite restaurants in ann arbor!

Pam C.

Yelp
Service was excellent! We had Korean bbq and it was a very generous amount of food. Resupplied several dishes of banchan as well. Overall great experience.

Yelp
Pretty good but mid quality fish. Salmon on the beach was good but a little overwhelming with the burnt sauce. It tasted a little strange after a few bites. Red dragon was good but the spicy tuna here is really weird. Kinda of wax like? Decent roll. King Kong pretty basic flavors but good. Eel roll was nice but not too much fish inside.
google avatar

Aminah K.

Yelp
Didn't have k-bbq but tried sushi and wings. The wings were very crispy and flavorful. When they initially brought them out they were cold inside but once we told our waitress she got us a new dish right away. The sushi tasted really good and fresh. Felt like the prices were pretty affordable compared to other sushi spots. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Highly recommend the Hawaiian and Lava specialty rolls from the sushi menu. My husband enjoyed the BiBimBap. In order to use the grill-it-yourself tables at least two people must order from the Korean BBQ menu. Staff was attentive, orders prepared quickly, prices reasonable for selection. Went on a Monday night, not too crowded, everything was clean.

Yelp
Food was a bit slow to come, but waitress extremely attentive gave complimentary miso soup. Be careful: the soup and takoyaki were served so hot it burned my tongue a bit! That seems to be a plus, IMHO, if you are careful. I was a bit chagrined when more takoyaki came as an item in my bento box: but bento is a bit of a grab bag anyway. The place had plenty of open tables (it was around 8 pm), but seemed to be doing a very brisk takeaway business.lots of ethnic Asians were dining there, which I usually interpret as a good sign. The sushi is not very high precision or tight (sushi chefs are clearly not Japanese masters). That said, the menu is exceptionally extensive. I plan to try Korean BBQ when I return.

Yelp
Ultimate winter comfort food The korean dishes taste so good. Also affordable for students

Yelp
I've been on a sushi roll lately and have tried quite a few via grubhub/name your favorite delivery service. I've operated on a whim not really reading reviews or anything and have actually been pleasantly surprised by Ann Arbor sushi...until I ordered from Nagomi. I ordered a chirashi bowl. It is $19 when you dine in and marked up to $23 on grubhub. I understand the markup given I'm sure grubhub takes a big cut, but I really cannot recommend the chirashi bowl here. The rice was stale, under seasoned. The fish was quite thick cut and didn't really have much taste. One piece was also quite chewy, not really what you expect from a sashimi. I probably wouldn't order from here again given other options in the AA area.

Yelp
Came here for kbbq. Think this place recently expanded - before seated you'll be asked whether you want to have the bbq or the noodles since the bbq you will be seated at the tables with the grills. There's combo options for meats or you can order a la cart. We went as 3 people and got Combo B which came with three types of meat. The meats were really yummy and there were large portions - plenty of food. The marinate was great! We also got a shoyu ramen - the broth was amazing, really liked this broth. I like that there are also a variety of side dishes that are served alongside the meal. I really liked the salad, kimchi, and the dried spiced tofu. Good local neighborhood Korean BBQ spot!

Yelp
This past Saturday my husband was gone for the day on a photo assignment so I was solo for dinner. I stared at the pantry, I stared at the fridge, and just didn't have it in me to make dinner for one. So I ordered delivery from Nagomi. GREAT decision! I went with the tonkatsu curry and it was sooooo good. They pack everything separate, the curry sauce, the rice, and the tonkatsu so everything stays fresh. The tonkatsu stayed nice and crispy and the rice didn't get soggy. The flavor was amazing and the curry sauce portion was MORE than generous. I still had half of it left and you could easily cook up some chicken or shrimp and have another meal. I also ordered the avocado bowl, my favorite item on the menu, and it was still soooo good. Creamy avocado, fresh buttery fish, and sauces with crispy panko on top make for one well balanced appetizer. I look forward to ordering from them again soon. Next time I'll definitely be doing sushi rolls, too.

Yelp
New Korean bbq section of the place! I absolutely recommend and I cannot wait to go back. What wow'd me: -the staff: they are all so nice, helpful, give tips about what to pair things with, AND they do most of the cooking for you so you don't mess it up or cook in the wrong order) -the sides: they continuously bring out extra sides and if you ever ask for more, they load it up really high! -the quality of meats: you could argue it's smaller portions, but the quality of each meat is amazing and blew all of us away. Every piece was amazing, perfectly marinated or tender. This is what solidified the 5 stars. Tips: -get the wings!!!! I need to order two of these next time, and they're so good that I considered just ordering these as a meal for next time -don't feel bad about asking for extra sides! -Combo C was great for 4 people (ordered 2 sides too) This was a trip where I went for the first time, loved it so much and can't wait to bring all of my friends and family back next time.

Yelp
Service was great but food quality was very poor. The pork was dry and cold. Wings were too large and not crispy.... Very soggy.

Yelp
Great service and sushi. I love the variety and also they have some good main entrees.

Yelp
Easy and fast. Fresh fish. Last time I got a free bowl of soup. This is my favorite place to grab lunch.

Yelp
Nagomi was a great place to satisfy my sushi craving for a cheap price. I got the tonkatsu, mackerel nigiri, nagomi spicy tuna, and the complimentary side salad. The salad was good, and similar to that you would get in most Japanese restaurants. The tonkatsu was crisp and plentiful, but wished the meat was juicier. The nagomi spicy tuna had a great balance of flavors in a piece that looks so simple. The mackerel nigiri was good, but not sure if it was worth the $2 per piece. Of note, this place does not serve otoro or uni, despite what the menu may suggest. Overall, this was a good place to fulfill your sushi craving for a good price, but not one to write home about. Would come again though.

Gena T.

Yelp
The sushi was not that fresh. The service was very slow and not caring at all. Don't get the snow day roll with the baked mozzarella, it wasn't good at all. The takoyaki balls tasted like they were from a frozen bag. If you're going to go here, I guess I would aim for the korean bbq. I would say next time but there won't be a next time.

Yelp
Great service, amazing food! The bibimbap was incredible and the sushi as well. very affordable and clean.

Yelp
This was hands down the best sushi I have had in a while. I came to Ann Arbor for ISO training and have been back here twice to date, with a third trip planned the 25th of this month! Can't wait .

Yelp
I'm fairly new to Ann Arbor and this is my early pick for favorite restaurant in town. My first visit I made the mistake of ordering a chirashi bowl. Why would I expect sashimi to be fresh in the Midwest? Those were unrealistic expectations so instead of writing a middling review I decided to give Nagomi a second chance, in part because the employees are very nice, and in part because it's very close to my place. Round two was a stellar success. I had the Michigan roll, and split a veggie yakisoba, avocado roll, and black mushroom roll with my wife. The Michigan Roll was great: shrimp tempura and tuna topped with unagi and avocado. The avocado maki was standard, and the black mushroom maki was oddly sweet from a generous dousing if teriyaki sauce. The yakisoba was maybe the best I have ever had!!! It was sweet with a hint of what tasted like tomcats I sauce, oily in the best way, and packed with veggies and just enough nori. I will order this every time I come here, for sure. My main takeaways is that if you don't order something with raw fish as the centerpiece (chirashi, sashimi), you will be fine, and you won't go wrong with a little raw fish in your rolls. Overall, Nagomi is a "go" for "mi" (sorry sorry sorry but honestly it is good).

Yelp
This is one of my favorite sushi places in town! I love to order the sushi or sashimi platter (super fresh!) as well as noodle soups when I get takeout here. Nagomi also recently renovated - the interior is really nice and they've now added seating for Korean BBQ. The wait times have also been reasonable and I've usually been able to find a parking spot which personally makes it a more favorable option to getting sushi around campus. Love Nagomi. Recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
My friend and I were both very impressed with the food as well as the service. The prices were fair as well.

Yelp
This restaurant has become a scam as of March 2022. I have been eating there since 2019. Not sure if management has changed or they just completely gave up on quality, but my order today will be my last. I got a salmon on the beach roll, unagi bowl, and two firecracker rolls. I placed my order based on the photos on the menu on their website. The salmon roll was basically devoid of any salmon, and in the description it states it is "wrapped in salmon". It legitimately had a centimeter wide strip of salmon laid on top. I wouldn't call that "wrapped" by any stretch, and it does not match their menu photo. The most egregious was the unagi bowl. It was $21, and the website made it look like it had lots of eel. My bowl had 5 super thin strips. FOR 21 DOLLARS! They should not be misrepresenting their entree photos on their online menu, accepting payment, then delivering a grossly subpar item- that's the definition of a scam. The firecracker roll was mostly inoffensive but the crunch bits were so stale that it ruined the taste. Overall waste of $60, but as I'll never be back, maybe it'll save me money in the long run. Shame on you for scamming your loyal customers Nagomi Sushi, you're out of chances, at least with me.

Hanh T.

Yelp
My husband and I ordered takeout from here since we lived nearby and never tried before. The short story: This food that we ordered was edible. The long story: We ordered the yakisoba, Alaskan roll, Godzilla roll, and the Fancy Fancy. The yakisoba seemed like it was just drenched in sauce and the noodles were mushy and overcooked. The rice on the sushi was mushy that was the most flavorful part of the sushi itself. The fish and the avocado in all of the rolls were bland. Our fancy fancy roll was cut improperly, which resulted in 7 pieces instead of 8.

Yelp
GUYS! This place is turning into a KBBQ area and it's SO GOOD! The grand opening is TODAY! Don't miss out! There will be free apps :) My fiancé and I happened upon this place last week because we saw the KBBQ coming soon signs and to our surprise the owner let us try it out before its official opening! IT WAS SO DELICIOUS like better than Tomokun! We hail from the Nova area where KBBQ is best in country and though the price point here obviously isn't what it is over there (lack of competition) the quality was on par! We tried the pork belly and ended with probably the most amazing nangmyeon in the city. Whoever is running the Korean dishes at this joint can really cook! I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Zhao C.

Yelp
I came here to try their sushi and I will say that I've had much better in town. However, their prices for the basic rolls range from $3-5 so it's definitely a good deal. You also get a side of salad or miso soup if you order a minimum of 2 rolls. The restaurant inside is clean with both regular and Korean BBQ tables. If you're looking for relatively cheap sushi and aren't too picky about the quality, then this place would suit you well!
google avatar

Danielle W.

Yelp
My husband and I have been looking for a great sushi place and I think we found it! There was so many other options on the menu also so it was hard to pick. The ramen looked amazing and we may get that next time. But we got the Katsu curry which tasted like a blend of middle eastern and Japanese curry... it was not too spicy so I enjoyed it too. It came with rice and perfectly fried chicken. I am a huge fan of salmon so I got two rolls with salmon on it (Salmon on the Beach which has torched salmon and Princess Roll which is light and has a light sauce on it) and they were both great. We also got the tuna tataki for an appetizer but didn't take a pic... it's pretty much raw tuna but they sear the edges. It was pretty good but I think my fav was the Yum Yum roll. It's fried and so delicious

Yelp
Great spot in north campus for Korean and Japanese food - offering delivery, takeout and, as of 9/13, limited dine-in. Prices are super reasonable ($3 for a salmon roll, $10 for an udon, $13 for a soondubu, etc.) We has a Sunday special jajangmyeon, a firecracker roll, a salmon roll, and an eel avo roll - all tasted pretty good. The hostess was extremely kind and so excited to have patrons again that she brought extra Korean side-dishes for us. We'll be returning soon!

Yelp
I don't wanna be choked to the other world yet. I found this in the spicy beef soup. How could this happen?

Yelp
Honestly not a fan. Had the waiter forget to put our order in and never came to see us once. We had to talk to four other servers before someone actually got the the bottom of our "missed" order. They took 30% off of our bill price to accommodate but the 45 minute wait until our issue was solved was not enjoyable. Download the app and get a free appetizer with your first purchase, decent deals and coupons with it too. Sushi and edamame are pretty good. Sad to have had such awful service or else we'd be back. Dim lit restaurant and wood seating and booths that make it an intimate and fun spot for a date. One bathroom for males and another for females, usually a bit of a line but very spacious. No parking near by, just cross your fingers a meter is open down the street.
google avatar

Teresa K.

Yelp
I'm so sad about how bad the service at Nagomi has become. We've ordered from them twice in the past two weeks, and both times we had issues. The first time the wait was incredibly long, and our order was completely wrong. The second time we ordered online and were told it would be ready in 30 minutes, but an hour and 15 minutes later, we still didn't have our food. We looked at the order before we left, but when we arrived home, we discovered they shorted us 3 pieces of nigiri We'll be trying other sushi restaurants in the area.

Tang J.

Yelp
Delicious food. Highly recommend bolgogi and tofu soup. Very authentic Korean food! Like the one I had in Seoul

Jenna B.

Yelp
The best Japanese style curry I've found in Michigan, honestly. I've never liked sushi, but even enjoyed the Las Vegas roll from here. Always friendly and fast service. They do Korean BBQ too which is a great experience with delicious and seemingly endless amounts of food!

Nick E.

Yelp
Food awful, service was even worst. The busser threw away my food the minute I went to the bathroom. I wasn't close to being done with my food

Lauren L.

Yelp
Went there last night 1/27 and the waitstaff was incredibly kind. I'm originally from Davis, CA and the young woman who was our waiter was so kind! She might not have known, but I was actually on a grad school recruitment trip and had my final dinner with the department chair of the program I'm applying to. To say I was exceedingly nervous would be an understatement, but this young woman was so kind and said I had a beautiful voice, which I thought was super kind and gave me a little bit of confidence I needed to talk to this professor for over two hours! Great service, tasty food, and, most importantly, kind people!

Yelp
I had one of the most bizarre dining experiences here and only give this location 3 stars because the waitress (actually from the downtown location) was super apologetic and the fact that it was a holiday (4th of July) so I guess they were understaffed. For starters, out of seven people at my table, four ordered alcoholic beverages. They were out of margarita mix, tonic water and orange juice. Luckily, the liquor was fully stocked, but we had to get creative with the mixers. One person was late arriving to the table and was never given a menu or silverware/chopsticks, but at least was offered water. My "veggie" roll had mock crab in it, which I swear was not on the menu, but it was labeled vegetarian. I inquired about it, but I'm certain most mock crab is actually made out of fish. They brought me a new roll, but my table ended up sharing the other, so not to waste. It took forever to make the new one, though. Again understaffed. The rolls are a decent size and the prizes are reasonable, but a more organized dining experience would have been preferred.

Yelp
Slow service, old sashimi, okay tasting sushi, a little overpriced. Ordered sashimi and some speciality rolls. Food was made at a reasonable time, but was left sitting on the counter for our waitress to give us for 10+ minutes. After calling the owner for our food, our waitress brought us our food. Our bad waitress combined with the mediocre at be sushi ensures we probably won't come back here again.

Jamal E.

Yelp
Spicy California roll was bad. Worst sushi my gf has had and she's had a lot. Spicy Mayo was too watery and the miso soup was too salty. Service was good fine though but expected better. I would go back for the kbbq but not the sushi Should have gone to the Shell across the parking lot

Yelp
Great service great food fresh ingredients good sushi owners are very friendly you can tell their hard-working and run a good ship I would come here again anytime

Yelp
I'm from the West Coast and travel to the East Coast (mainly NYC) every month so I think I know good Japanese food. I have been frequenting Nagomi since I am in A2 and I've never had a bad meal there. This family-run operation is small but has a loyal following. I prefer to dine at Nagomi for lunch. Their lunch specials (there are always two) are real values and you can't go wrong with either on any given day. Their roll combos are highly recommended as well. Dinner is good too but it gets really crowded, there's always cheezy sports shows on the HDTVs, and they've got the darn HDTVs cranked up and you can't hear your dining companions speak (but maybe that's a good thing given the stone-faced couples who come in there to eat...) The staff is always friendly and willing to suggest new things to try. Enjoy this north campus gem! (I cannot speak authoritatively about the downtown location. Even though it is down the street from my office, I've never been there)...

Yelp
Solidly 3-star experience. They have huge TV's which were showing HGTV, so that was not great for ambiance. They have a nice selection of draft beers which is not always common for sushi places, so that was a plus. It was kid-friendly enough, and in fact there were a decent number of kids here and they were all behaving! Hooray! The rolls were not wrapped tightly enough in my opinion. I also was charged for a bottle of wine instead of the glass that I had! I did notice it and had it changed, but that was a pretty big mistake. If you are tired of fighting A2 traffic and just want some damn sushi, come here! It is A-OK and you can park right in front of the place! :)

Yelp
This is a great option for sushi in the Ann Arbor area. There are a great variety of dishes, including rolls, noodle dishes, skewers, etc. most of his are pretty good, well done and tasty. I bought the Ramen noodle dish and it was a lot of Ramen in a huge bowl! Prices are pretty reasonable. Service can be a little bit slow though, even when there aren't many customers around. The location is convenient and there's plenty of parking in their lot.
