We’ve come many times for hibachi and that is always amazing! Tonight my husband and I decided to come for date night and were very very pleasantly surprised by the other menu items! The lychee martini is absolutely our favorite version we’ve had. Tuna tartar was an absolutely perfect balance of flavor. The tempura shrimp was on par with the tempura we had at an upscale chef tasting menu in Kyoto, Japan a few months ago. 😋

Google
It’s the best place i ever eaten. imo the miso ramen is the best ramen i ever had in a long time, might be because i find it nostalgic, It made me remember my grandmas soup. But anyways. The Kyoto roll is my favorite roll in here. It tastes so good it makes me want to lick the plate. And in addition to all this my fav appetizer is the crab puffs with that fantastic red sauce that it comes with. And the staff is very friendly and welcoming. 10/10✨ would come back again!

Google
Nagoya is my favorite sushi restaurant. The staff are experienced with their craft, the quality is superb and the environment is relaxing. Highly recommended!

Google
I recently dined at Nagoya Steak and Sushi and was absolutely blown away by their dishes. The noodles were perfectly cooked—smooth, savory, and full of flavor, with just the right balance of seasoning. The sushi rolls I tried were equally impressive—fresh, delicately crafted, and full of flavor in every bite. The combination of textures and the quality of the ingredients made each dish a standout. Highly recommend this place if you're craving delicious food! The price is also very good and very kid-friendly. I had the bartender CJ take my order; she was hilarious and friendly, making it a wonderful experience. Coming back for sure.

Google
We came here to celebrate my sister's graduation and we had a great time! The food that was made hibachi style was delicious! The sushi that we ordered could have been a little better, but the show was very fun, we will definitely be coming back in the future!

Google
Dont let the outside fool you. Although its not fancy or updated looking this place is well worth the stop. The staff was exceptionally accomodating and friendly. The service and food was great! We sat at the hibachi grill and had a mix of shrimp, steak, chicken fried rice, vegetables, sushi rolls, shrimp tempura roll, and even the fried tempura ice cream.

Google
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this place! The food tastes great, the ambiance is "homey" and relaxing, nothing superficial, and overall, the place is clean - which is really important for something like food 😉 We decided to sit at the Hibachi table and get the Dinner for 2, which is a combination of steak, chicken, and shrimp for the protein... and yes! I can truly say that we made the right choice! My boyfriend even cleaned his plate, nothing wasted! It was that good. It's definitely a good place to come back to for hibachi and maybe even sushi next time!

Google
Came here for a happy hour late lunch. I can recommend it, nice happy hour menu with $5 on apps and sushi, and $10 for some of their special rolls, and best of all, $4 hot sake. I got the yakitori and spicy tuna roll. The sauce on the yakitori was great but the chicken was dry. The spicy tuna roll was average, a bit bland. But still, I'd come back for this happy hour for sure!

Yelp
Old school hibachi feel like I get more veggies at this hibachi then the place down the street anyway great service nice neighborhood Jim

Yelp
Food was absolutely awful. Over salty, over cooked. Not fresh. Tasted like frozen seafood defrosted. Every thing was over salty. Even soup. Wine list low end. Place is very outdated and rundown looking inside. It's a no for me.

Michaela M.

Yelp
We have been coming to Nagoya for years. Their bento boxes are great, sushi is fresh, and hibachi is amazing. We also enjoy sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender, CJ (she has worked here for years and she is great!) You really can't go wrong with Nagoya.

Catie C.

Yelp
Please note that this review in only for hibachi. I cannot vouch for the sushi. We dine at Nagoya a few times per year and have been doing so the last 10 years. This is a great celebration place, as the grill/table seats 8-10 people. They make a big deal out of special occasions--they've banged a gong and had us pose with a katana for a birthday picture. All hibachi entrees are cooked on the grill in front of you. There are several proteins to choose from: chicken, scallops, shrimp, lobster, and various cuts of beef. The dinner entrees also include soup, salad, mixed vegetables, and two shrimp. Upgrade your rice to fried rice for an additional charge--must not miss. There is also a 10 and under kids menu with generous portions and great prices. Generally, there are three chefs that rotate amongst the tables. They each put on a show--flipping and tossing utensils and one of the chefs adds quite a bit of comedy and another level of skill. They also have everyone try to catch bits of shrimp that are launched through the air. Unfortunately, one of the chefs, who has been there for years, comes across as disinterested and, to make it worse, he doesn't season the food very much, so it comes out bland. That being said, recommend.

Naveen Reddy K.

Yelp
We ordered a spicy tuna roll and lobster roll. Both didn't look fresh.when we were eating hesitantly we Found a dead bug in one of the roll. When we showed the bug to waiter/manager, he quietly took away without apologizing or anything. He even charged us the food.

Luis G.

Yelp
Super awesome experience! We showed up late evening time so we practically had the place to ourselves. The chef and server were both super friendly and provided a great experience. My girlfriend enjoyed the fire show haha. The food was actually really good and well priced! I got a Philly roll and a spicy tuna roll, and my girlfriend got the steak and shrimp hibachi dinner plate. I will be definitely be back to this spot. Super convenient and well placed off of 620. Pretty clean too and the chef cleans the grills after cooking so that was nice to see. The spot is roomy so I'm sure getting seated even during peak hours is probably very well managed. Highly recommend 5/5

Annie L.

Yelp
I would really give this place a 3.5 but will round up to 4. We came here Christmas night after some Christmas activities and were delighted to see that this restaurant was open. We only had the sushi and not the hibachi so this review is only on the sushi. But we could hear cheers and expressions of delight coming from the hibachi tables and it looked like fun with the show the grillers usually put on. The food here is quite good, but not stellar. We had 4 different sushi rolls, a calamari appetizer and the tempura appetizer. I was a little disappointed that the batter on the fried calamari wasn't lighter. It was ok, but a little on the thick side for me. Ditto with the tempura, the batter could have been lighter but the tempura was still good. I'll say the sushi rolls were nicely done and the ingredients very fresh. The service was very good but the server forgot to bring my soup. But all things considered, it was a good experience.

Mark D.

Yelp
This is a convenient spot to grab lunch or have the hibachi experience for dinner. The staff are friendly and recognize regulars. Pricing is fair and the cooks are happy to customize your order. The vibe is a little dated but adds to the experience.

Anastasia M.

Yelp
Great experience. First time stop here and I was hesitant thinking it was just a hibachi grill. I sat at the bar. Bartender was attentive land helpful from beginning to end. It wasn't busy on Monday so the restaurant was very quiet. I tried the spicy edamame and the crab puff for an appetizers and the mouth on fire sushi. Delicious! I will definitely be adding this to my list of sushi stops

Lauren W.

Yelp
We love going to Nagoya.. we spend every birthday in our family there. Today was one of our favorite days because Albert was our chef! Ask for him when you come in (and it isn't busy)... he's so great!! Thanks for the great time tonight Albert!!

Christine M.

Yelp
We decided on Nagoya after seeing positive reviews but unfortunately we did not have a positive experience. We had 8 people in our party and were seated immediately. However it was very hot in the restaurant and we waited over an hour to order. All of our bills were much higher than expected but we were rushed to pay and are not sure what the extra charges were (that is a little on us for not being more forceful about seeing the bill). The food was not good. Was overcooked and dry. I've had hibachi plenty of times and this was by far the worst I've ever had. The service was not good. We waited too long for refills and were rarely checked on. We definitely will not be back.

Sheldon S.

Yelp
Started out with fried calamari, oh man did that hit the spot. The sauce that was served along side the calamari was to die for. They work so perfectly together. Mouth on fire roll was next, doesn't it look beautiful? Guess how it taste? Beautiful. Service was phenomenal. Can't wait to go back. It will be my third time dining at Nagoya.

Jim F.

Yelp
Bar Area is great for hanging out while waiting for the rest of your group. This fella kept me company and was a great listener.

Nolwenn Marie W.

Yelp
Such a fun place , really good and fast service , went there for my kids bday and the hibachi is always so entertaining. Definitely recommend !

David P.

Yelp
We have been to Nagoya at least 6 times in the past without incident but last night was the last time due to poor service and management. We arrived as a party of four at 6pm on a Friday evening and it was very quiet, with only 2 tables (of the five) operating. When we arrived, 2 of the 3 tables were already finished and only one was available for seating so they at us there. But one the seats were off to the side (or behind) the cook with clean dishes piled up at one of the spots and only about 9 square inches of actual table space for that particular guest. Knowing that we were about to spend close to $200 for the meal, we wanted something a little more respectful than "back in the storage area". We asked the host if there were any other seats and he said "no". There were 3-4 other seating areas that were completely empty so this seemed strange. We asked to talk to the manager and she came over and told us the same thing, but rudely and as if we were bothering her. We then sat down and contemplated leaving the restaurant before ordering. Just then, another party of 6 came in and the host took them to the new seating area! We were in disbelief and went to talk to the manager again, asking why they were seated at a new area and not us. She gaves us an answer that made no sense and seemed confused herself. The only conclusion that we could make was that they were trying to fill up the last existing table with the exact number of seats left (4, which matched our party size). The restaurant doesn't take reservations, so it's not like the party of 6 that just walked in had reservations. Insulted at this point, we got up and left. I spoke to the manager on the way out and explained politely that we were leaving because of this treatment but she didn't seem to care. In the end, this worked out fine for us because we left and went to Kobe Steakhouse, 3 miles away and the food was better and the service was MUCH better. We found our new Japanese steakhouse for the future.

Yelp
It was our valentines dinner date night since I'm a nurse and work night shift. We called ahead to make reservations knowing Saturday night will be a crazy night. "no need to make a reservation for 2! We have plenty of room." WRONG!!!!!!!!! Get there and it's a massive wait!!! Now anywhere we go will have a massive wait time too. That ruined that for us. Now driving all the way across town to go to Fujiyama!!! We called and they could actually get us in. Better customer service and nicer inside too!

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
Not bad but not good for $50, great place for overcooked steak and weird crab puffs that look like chicken strips, and shrimp tempura with no tempura. Don't rely on pictures like I did

Kayla M.

Yelp
First things first, CJ is the best ever. I don't even care for the hibachi area, you can get it all at regular table. The drinks are strong, the food is so good. I love spicy tuna rolls, and they're one of the few places that make it actually spicy -- I love it! The service has always been great, just go. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy your sip & crunch !

Wendy Q.

Yelp
We came to eat with a friend after having our massage. Always drove by this place but I am thankful my friend insisted to come here. She had the longhorn roll and I had the rock and roll, all of it was delicious, also the appetizer with octopus was right on point. Long story short, please come here and experience it for yourself

Elvie H.

Yelp
It was delicious the staff very professional yet fun!!! Mitsubishi our cook a man of many names even Toyota was hilarious and talented!!!

Amberly F.

Yelp
First time here ! We came in on a Sunday afternoon on Father's Day and the place was noticeably slow. Service here was quick and accurate even had a very entertaining waiter (Delta) who enjoyed conversation as well as fun with the children. Atmosphere was great as per usual in these places but the food was lacking in flavor a bit. We did notice it was a tad bland and just not as great as we have had at hibachi before but still yummy. Our steaks were bland and a little dry the chef prepared everything how we ordered without issues. All the food seems fresh. We did enjoy the sushi very much especially the Longhorn roll. The spicy tuna was a bit more spicy that other places so the kids didn't enjoy it but it was good. I would recommend this place and our waiter Delta if your in for a good time and entertainment.

Amber M.

Yelp
We have a wonderful time every time we come here and LOVE supporting our local restaurants and businesses. Went for my sons graduation today and waiter showed my son how to cut tofu. Thank you for making our day special! One time we even witnessed someone proposing to their girlfriend at our table.

Brent G.

Yelp
The lady manager is very mean and not friendly. She stands behind the bar and looks at you when you arrive and doesn't move to come welcome you and seat guests. Instead of this they need a friendly host if she has no people skills. Very lazy and unwelcoming.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Nagoya is located close to Anderson Mill. Parking is plentiful, and Nagoya even has hibachi grills for those who want to be entertained by the art of making food. The food is moderately priced, and the service is decent too. Nagoya is pretty good for their lunch menus. Their ramen is freaking huge, and the broth is not too salty. I would recommend their appetizers rather than their sushi.

Jeremy T.

Yelp
I enjoyed this place. We were seated right away. Teppanyaki food was good. Good show at the hibachi. The waitress was very attentive. I had the rib eye. The chef cooked it to a good medium rare just as I asked. I will go back again.

Arica L.

Yelp
Delton is the best! Fast, attentive and witty! Thanks for a great meal! Food was great too!

Heather T.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite weeknight date places. We have never had a bad experience. The food is always fresh, the staff is hardworking and tries so hard to make get you what you need. I love the sushi and the habachi. I usually opt to sit at the regular tables instead of the specialty table and it comes out quickly.

Keely B.

Yelp
We walked in around 1pm on a Saturday and got seated right away, it wasn't too busy. I didn't get to take any pictures but man it was so good I tried sushi for the first time (cooked though) and had the hibachi fried rice and chicken and it was so delicious! Our server Delton was super attentive and funny and he made our sushi recommendations. It was a great experience over all, I'd definitely come back!

Lubo S.

Yelp
If you want to be ignored and never have the chance to order food, go to Nagoya off of 620 in North Austin. My wife and I were greeted by the host and seated very quickly, that was the end of the positives. 15 minutes later a table was sat next to us and the server took their order immediately. By minute 20 , it was time to leave. TLDR: Nagoya is the best place to be ignored. Luckily, there is a Mexican restaurant named Dos Mary's next door with infinity better service. This was the first and only time I will look to visit Nagoya.

Ashlee P.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem off 620. There is t a happy hour menu, but the food is good enough it doesn't matter. The service was awesome and the atmosphere was nice. We had sushi, but we'll return for the hibachi.

Wendi B.

Yelp
Exactly what kind of place we were looking for! We went in on a Sunday at 7:00 PM, we're sat and served promptly, then 2 more people joined us before the cooking started. The food was delicious and the chef was charming. We will be back and we will recommend!

Sonia F.

Yelp
This is the WORST sushi I've ever had; rice is dry, rolls are sloppy and ingredients freshness are questionable. We ordered online and when we got there the woman was so rude. Pointed to the bag at the bar and signaled "it's there go get it". The doors to the place were filthy.... I wouldn't recommend it under any circumstance, unfortunately.

Brian G.

Yelp
This place is great, especially with kids. I took my picky 7 and 9 year olds here for lunch, and they had a blast sitting at the hibachi. We had shrimp, salmon, and scallops, and they liked all of that. They even ate some of the veggies. I was really happy with all the food as well, and the hibachi show is always a good time.

Megan H.

Yelp
Great place to grab a delicious steak! I'm sure other things are great too, but I have never gotten anything else, ha! That buttery steak just melts in my mouth and I make it a point to stop in anytime I'm in town. Good food, nice employees, and a clean and inviting atmosphere great for date night.

Kendyl W.

Yelp
This place is very decent! The rolls are good sizes and tasty. They are quick and always get the order right. Nagoya is convenient for us and consistent with quality, but nothing to rant and rave about. I wouldn't drive across town for it, but it's definitely not bad and we come 1-2 times a month. My favorite specialty rolls are the tiger the and cedar park roll.

Eric S.

Yelp
I completely agree with many other Yelpers on this place! Excellent mid-week date night location, no wait at 7:45pm on a Thursday. Delton was an amazing, fun, funny, and punny waiter who was also an expert on the menu--even helping my gluten free wife and immediately providing the GF soy sauce without asking! (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DELTON WHEN YOU GO, as noted by others.) Then Chef Gabriel topped it off with his fun flaming hibachi. The Nagoya hibachi for two was ample portion of shrimp, steak, chicken, and veggies (shrimp was the best), plus two soups, two salads, and two rice bowls--all for under $60! And a large bottle of hot saki was just $9 to accompany it. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that I was not as impressed with the sushi. We had the Austin roll without the crab (to make it gluten free, as some immigration crab products used in restaurants have gluten binders). My wife and I agreed we've had better sushi at Sushi Bang Bang or Ebisu. With that said, this was an overall excellent experience, and we intend to come back for future date nights and perhaps her birthday next month (Delton says they put on quite a show!).

Brandi M.

Yelp
Great service, quick preparation, good sushi! Pretty ces are very reasonable. Extensive menu with many different options! I consider this a hidden gem... been by it many times without realizing what a great option it is! Look forward to returning and trying other options!

Jonathan O.

Yelp
Great service, such good fun energy is exactly what a night out with strangers requires! Good habachi, decor seemed a little lack luster but we were still dazzled.

Jim O.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the place. Was on a dad and daughter date. She wanted to try the place out and we had a lot of fun. Table spaces were small and my daughter kept feeling her booth back move every time the patron behind her adjusted themselves. Staff was virtuous and prompt. Place seems like it had not been freshened in ten or so years so things looked worn. Food was good and bill was very reasonable. We would go back. Maybe for the table with the flames and personal chef.

Adolf S.

Yelp
Great food! A little understaffed but all things considered the service was good as well.

Megan E.

Yelp
This review is one I'm bummed to have to make, yet again. They have great sushi. However, I've never been treated so poorly by someone on the end of the line as I was just now. I called to place an order for pickup, and the phone was cutting out so it was hard to hear. Rather than just being polite, the person on the line yelled (and it was RUDELY) back at me as though I was inconveniencing them by placing my order. I said "sorry I think the phone is cutting out," to which they replied, again angrily "Well it's not my phone so it's your phone!" I ended it by thanking them for their 'kindness' because I refuse to stoop to the level of someone so wholly unconcerned with being respectful to one another as human beings. I've been a service industry worker and I'm not going to waste my time speaking so poorly as they did to me. What the hell Nagoya? You have always been one of my favorite places. Whoever was answering calls on 3/14 at 3:30pm, should NOT be answering calls.

Angie Z.

Yelp
Disappointing! If you're going to pay for an expensive dinner, we should walk away feeling it was worth it but we left entirely disappointed. First, we called ahead to make sure they weren't busy and could accommodate a family for my husband's bday. When we arrived I mentioned to hostess/manager on duty I had called. She seemed busy and bothered. When we were seated, we ordered Drinks and sushi. Our sushi roll arrived mid-dinner. I was brought a Pinot noir instead of the Grigio I ordered (not a big deal but the noir was more expensive and error wasn't fixed). My son couldn't get a refill for his water but my daughter kept getting refills for soda (which you are charged for). As for the dinner, the chef rushed through the "show" on the grill, he wasn't engaged, didn't pay attention to his guests and was completely impersonal. The steak and chicken lacked flavor and were tough. The soup tasted like dirty, warm water. The end of the dinner was what really bothered ruined the evening, we had told the chef, the waitress the hostess it was my husband birthday and it was never recognized. We came in with our kids to experience hibachi. As we walked out, the table next to us was brought a complimentary dessert, a gong and sung happy birthday...wow! $175 later I'd say service, taste and experience were all less than acceptable. We won't be back

Michael B.

Yelp
I came back to Nagoya's specifically for some shrimp tempura and some sushi. So while I can talk about the sushi, I *still* can't rate the steak side of things! Nagoya's is an interesting mix between a sushi bar, regular 'we serve drinks' bar, a sit-down restaurant, and teppanyaki joint. Service has been fast in my experience, though the staff needs a refresher course on making sure the booths are properly wiped down. The sushi quality is good, and the tempura is very good. An interesting detail is how this restaurant serves steaming-hot tempura sauce on the side. Once again, the rolls were solid, if unprepossessing. The shrimp tempura and eel rolls were properly done, and the only quibble is the over-use of eel sauce. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and in the mood for a bit of sushi. This place continues to score a 3 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK being seen eating here by Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

Flathers M.

Yelp
One of my all-time favorite Teppanyaki places. Everything is awesome from the service to the food. My only critique is they put way too much sauce on their sushi rolls.

Tom J.

Yelp
"Hidden Gem of Hibachi Restaurants" Price: Average ($50-$80) Food: 3.7/5.0 Portion Size: 4.0/5.0 Drinks: 3.5/5.0 Appearance: 3.0/5.0 Bathroom Cleanliness: 3.3/5.0 Parking: 4.0/5.0 Dietary Accommodations: Yes This location really took us by surprise. Great food. Simple location and easily accessible with plenty of parking to spare. Might be a challenge to find during the evening due to the lack of signage on main road. Staff was friendly and accommodating from the moment we walked in till our departure. Any Hibachi restaurant will have their appearance flaws both inside and out, but we decided to see past any of that and had a great experience overall. Worth a visit. Tom J Rating: 3.6/5.0

Raquel A.

Yelp
Tasty food and great service! The chef made the time a pleasant experience while he was showing off his skills

Emma E.

Yelp
I LOVE Nagoya. I been going here for roughly 4 years the happy hours was great which they sadly got rid of. But even tho I love the service and people here. The music they play is so amazing. It's just such a homie vibe. Everyone here's is cool and food is pretty good. I wouldn't see this as a super nice place to go out to eat but as a place to have a good time yes. It's enjoyable and one of my favorite places to spend time

Sean W.

Yelp
The meal was great and our chef was skilled entertainment. Now for the disappointment... Our family got there at 7pm and was told the wait was 20 minutes...57 minutes later were sat at at our table. I went to the manager 47 minutes later because we still had not gotten our meal. She said our order was only taken 20 minutes ago and it takes time to prepare our meal...no apologies just excuses. Its now 9pm and our chef starts cooking. Let's just say it will be another year 1 or 2 before we come back. Good food, but poor management.

Angela M.

Yelp
This was a great experience and great food and service. The sushi was fresh with a good presentation. The portion sizes were awesome. Staff was attentive and personable. I would definitely recommend the hibachi grill experience.
