NAIO HOTEL & VILLAS (Palomino, Colombia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Once a quiet fishing village untouched by tourism, Palomino has lately developed into a popular vacation spot. The setting, right at the point where the snowcapped Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains and the Río Palomino meet the Caribbean Sea, is a natural wonderland for surfing and river tubing. Many hotels have popped up to accommodate the influx of visitors, but Naio Hotel & Villas, with its modern design and gorgeously landscaped grounds, is one of the only luxury options." - Tablet Hotels

We had a fabulous weekend in one of the villas. A beautiful property and well appointed; the online pictures don’t do it justice. It was lovely to be able to enjoy the variety of places to relax: pools at the main house, the beach or even the private pool at the villa. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. They make a spectacular coco limonada!! We also did a hike in the mountains, organised by the hotel, which was stunning.

We booked to stay here as a family for five nights in April. Shortly after arrival it became apparent that the hotel is nowhere near as nice as the website shows - it's an average 3 star at best. We spoke to the manager who agreed to refund us for the remainder of our stay, and we left. On checkout, they promised that the refund would be processed within an hour. One month later, no refund has been received in my account and they still have not provided me with any evidence that the refund has even been processed. I am fairly sure that this is deliberate and have started legal action.

We stayed here for 10 days. Villa 70 was Absolutely beautiful, spacious and superclean. The whole area is green, lush an relaxing. Food and drink were good in all restaurants. Staff was friendly. Some minor things could be improved: Hairdryer on the room (you can ask from lobby). Do not disturb sign to door because otherwise cleaner will enter the villa whenever. Restaurants were sometimes slow and breakfast could be better.

NAIO is a hidden gem for friends seeking eco-tourism, fine dining, and authentic local experiences. The setting is beautiful, the food is exceptional, and the rum tasting was unforgettable—showcasing the best of Colombian spirits. Perfect blend of luxury and nature. Highly recommended!

The food isn’t outstanding but it’s not as bad as the reviews here will have you think. The one food item you should avoid is the fish and chips. The fries are delicious but the fish are really fish sticks and they’re so disgusting. Now there’s another item on the menu that’s an actual entire dish that’s fried and THAT item is great. I think it’s around 70,000 COP (~$17). The pizza, patacones, Cobb salad, club sandwich (hold the cheese), eggs (any style), pancakes, and all breakfast buffet items are delicious. Stick to those food items and you’ll have an enjoyable experience. The drinks are also great; nice wine and beer selection. The rooms are so nice, smell amazing, have AC and fans, and depending on your room you can hear the ocean waves. The pool is heated and beautiful and food is also served poolside if you’d like to eat there as well. Staff are overly friendly but I’d rather that than the opposite so it was fine. The hotel is well located. So peaceful and if you want to venture further down the beach there are a ton of other cute beach front bars you can order cheap drinks and food. Naio is by far the nicest hotel on the beach strip though. If you’re afraid of dogs, this isn’t the place for you. They have a lot of dogs there. They’re all so friendly and not scary at all but if youre not into dogs then be warned they have about four of them that roam around and take naps or come up to you to say hi. They’re so cute. Anyway, I look forward to returning again soon. It’s a beautiful place

Although the structure is amazing and someone spent a lot of money on it, I would not recommend staying here. There is no management and it seems the place is run by a few locals. Possibly if you are Columbian you would be happy, most of the clients were Columbian. It is not cheap and there was no atmosphere and no service and terrible food. We were hungry most of the time.

NAIO it’s a resort immersed in nature where you can experience a relaxed getaway with all the comforts of a luxury hotel. The Resort offers private houses with pool, living room, kitchen and hotel rooms where you can stay. It has 2 restaurants with full service and pools, one of the called Selva and one called Playa. The latter one is by the beach where you can enjoy a pool with beach views as well as have access to the beach with beach huts and restaurant service. There is also a bar by the beach that opens from Thursday to Saturday. They also have a small gym, tennis courts and mini market. Although it’s a great experience to walk through its pathways surrounded by nature you can ask for transport on a golf cart. In overall it’s a great place to stay and enjoy with friends and family.
