Udon Time, New Restaurant From Michelin-Starred Omakase Team, Is Open | Eater SF

"I learned that Agbayani toured and trained at the Sanuki Menki Noodle School in Kagawa before designing the Udon Time menu, which influenced his noodle technique and use of a Sanuki udon machine." - Caleb Pershan

You could try to make udon yourself here~ You could choose cooking the udon and eat it immediately or take away you udon. Booking required. I wish the teacher could try to have better communication with the non Japanese speaking clients.

My family and I had a great time learning to make, cook and eventually eat our own udon noodles. This was a fun time to spend the day.

**Excellent experience!** Knowing a little Japanese helped during the cooking and prep portion, but it's easy to follow along by watching others. This is definitely a spot geared toward local tourism for the Japanese population, but everyone is warmly welcomed — and I'm really grateful for that. All the food was delicious, with the chance to try various specialties from Kagawa Prefecture. Making our own Sanuki udon was a fantastic, hands-on experience. The staff were kind and accommodating — they even helped us change our reservation type when we asked. As a bonus, you get some nice souvenirs at the end. Highly recommended! Lastly, catch the right bus into the suburbs and back or just take a taxi.

What a fun experience! The lesson took 30 mins, then cooking and eating would take up whatever extra time you need. Early lessons would be less crowded as people try to schedule around lunch time.

I went to the Nakano Udon School Takamatsu in February 2025. This is the best part of my Japan Trip. Me and my mom really want to say Thank You to all the staff. The instructor is very friendly and the Udon Making Procedure is fun. The classroom is clean and well set up. The online reservation procedure is also easy and smooth. After making the udon, you can cook/ eat it on the second floor. (have to pay before attending the lesson at reception). You can add chicken leg and tempura at a additional cost. I will suggest to add something. When my lunch and lesson is finished. The reception helps me to call a taxi to the train station.

They have an English savvy lady who mans the ticketing counter (on the right side of the front entrance as you enter), and she checked us in as we already used the website to make a reservation. Our party of 3 were the only ones in the class, the instructor did his best to show us how to make the udon noodle from beginning to end (with occasional help from the lady); and it made it extremely fun for our family, primarily entertaining our son who can speak a lot more Japanese than us. A very unique experience overall, highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. You get to bring home what you make as well as some souvenirs!

Takamatsu is known for its udon, it would not complete without coming to an udon school. The step by step of udon making from scratch was so fun. We truly had some good times here. Ingredients for making udon and utensils are provided for. The udon school is situated on the upper floor while the ground floor is a shop that sells souvenirs and of course udon. As i am gluten intolerance, they were kind to serve a gluten free lunch bento.

We were on our road trip visiting different udon restaurants and came across this place and had a great time. They taught you how to make udon from scratch and you got to cook and eat the udon that you make. Had a blast!! Highly recommended.
