This is definitely one of my top five favorite Thai restaurants in the DFW area. I discovered this market back in 2021 and the food is fantastic. It's not your typical restaurant. It's a small Thai/Laos market with a kitchen, so that's how you know it's authentic.
You grab a menu by the door and enter the kitchen to place your order. I tried their nam khao, yellow curry, Laos sausages, pad Thai, holy basil stir fry, khao piek, sticky rice, and more. The dishes are so good and flavorful, and it really reminded me of downtown LA which is where I had the best Thai food of my life. The prices aren't crazy high either. Each dish costs around $9.99 which is much cheaper than other Thai restaurants that charge $14-16 per dish.
They recently changed the way they do spice levels. Before, I can ask to make the dish mild or medium spicy, but now, they don't let you adjust anything. They just make it plain and there are peppers on the table for you to adjust yourself. The flavors are still good, but it's not the same when I can dig in and burn my tongue from ordering spice levels I can't handle.
Their yellow curry is the best curry I've had. I really dislike the green and red peppers that most places make it with, but they offer either eggplants or bamboo shoots. I love bamboo shoots, so it was just chicken and bamboo shoots with nothing else, and that's perfect for me. Some people might prefer more ingredients, but I like my curry simple with an equal amount of meat/veggies to curry ratio.
Overall, you can't go wrong with any dishes here. It is a far drive for me, but I try to branch out and try different dishes with my boyfriend when we go. If we really like a dish, then we'll make sure to order that one as well (ex: Laos sausages). Once you're done, you pay at the register upfront. You can grab whatever groceries you need or their pandan dessert (banh lot in Vietnamese) before leaving. We always order a bunch of food but the total is usually around $40-50, which is SO cheap compared to other restaurants. Not to mention having delicious leftovers for the next couple of days.
