"From the creators of Tekka Bar, Nama Nama will offer made-to-order hand rolls, cut rolls, poke bowls, nitro matcha, and sake on-the-go as one of the Canteen Food Hall's concepts." - Janna Karel

Stopped in for a salmon and a yellowtail roll. Excellent quality, quick service, pleasantly surprised! If you like sushi, give it a try. Also, there are gluten free options

Google
Unique concept, never been to a casual sushi counter before. Only about 16 seats. Simple menu and great prices. We were blown away by the quaility of what we got. Service was quick and friendly, we watched each of our rolls be made and ordered more. We will be making this a regular dinner stop on our way to comedy cellar.

I ordered the spicy tuna roll. I thought it was good. I’ve never been to a sushi spot like this so I enjoyed the experience. It was cool to watch the chef make my dish- he was adorable. I dined solo and felt comfortable eating alone here.

Happened upon this gem at the Rio's Hotel and Casino's Canteen. Took a ride over to this part of the strip to play slots. This was one of the best quick, casual, quality, and tastey lunches I've had in Vegas. I will definitely be back. Thanks for the wonderful experience. 🤤🤤🥰

Google
Super underwhelming sushi, it’s not even really worth it in the slightest. I know it’s inside a casino but even with that, the prices are insanely high for the quality of food you’re getting. The hand rolls are an absolute joke with the size of them. It’s honestly cheaper to take an uber to a different spot for better quality sushi. On the upside, the staff is super nice and the location is convenient.

Google
Amazing place if you like sushi. Staff is very friendly and polite. The chef is just amazing. A must do if you are at Rio and love sushi.

Google
I LOVE the new food hall at the Rio. Having said that - Nama Nama is just okay. The sushi was ok, the service wasn't the greatest. I was there closer to the end of the night, and I know they were anxious to get out, but I definitely felt like I was in the way.

Google
Some of the most underwhelming sushi I have had. The rolls looked old and were not well presented. It was fast and accessible but not good otherwise. I've had grocery store sushi look and taste better.

Yelp
Some some solid solid sushi sushi. Nama Nama is a sometimes-open sushi roll spot in a circular stall at the Canteen Food Hall at the Rio. It's the last of their spots which I had yet to explore, and it actually turned out to be one of the better ones. Like the other food hall concepts, they accept Rio Rewards vouchers and points, which is why I was willing to try every single spot here. They do offer some poke bowls and an app that's probably newer style sashimi, but the main offerings are either hand rolls (dine-in only, i.e. you gotta sit at the counter) or simple cut rolls. Nigiri is way beyond the scope of Nama Nama, which is fine since they have machinery that helps cross-trained employees in the food hall with consistently making what they do serve. Lump Blue Crab cut roll ($14.00): kinda bland, even with soy sauce assistance. The crab isn't really lumpy, just minced-y bits that don't provide much texture. The lone miss of the proteins which I tried. Lobster cut roll ($16.00): a way better option. The lobster flavor is there, and the lemon juice is a perfect complement. I wish they'd added lemon to the crab roll too. This protein is a little on the chewy side, but not tougher than various mollusks and such that sometimes end up in sushi. It's actually worth giving this a try. Salmon hand roll ($7.00) and Yellowtail hand roll ($8.00): presented by the chef to you on a paper. Both cubed proteins are actually quite fresh and flavorful, the rice isn't dry, and the nori wrapper stays intact. The issue with both hand rolls is that they simply roll them up into cylinders, so when you bite in, you're also pushing the rice and fish out the other end. Hey, at least I learned firsthand why hand rolls at sushi spots. There is wordage on Yelp and on a postcard from Nama Nama that suggest that they used to have matcha on nitro tap, but this is no longer the case. You can get one or two alcohols on draft, various packaged sakes, or non-alcoholic beverages, but I asked for a simple cup of water and got it. I'm not saying that Nama Nama is the greatest sushi around, but for a casual spot for rolls, they did a pretty solid job. If you are staying at the Rio or have some sort of food comps, consider trying Nama Nama when it's actually open (maybe Fri-Sun... definitely closed most Mon/Wed lately).

Yelp
Small and efficient, but not delicious. No sushi, some rolls but only a single fish each. No specialty rolls. Poke bowl $21. We ordered two spicy tuna hand rolls $7 which had a weird spice - cumin? I don't know but they were not good. We also got the salmon cut roll $10.50 and yellowtail cut roll $12.50. They use warm rice in the rolls which was odd and a rolling machine to make the rolls. We won't be back.

Yelp
Is this fast food sushi? Yes. Is this in the food court at the Rio hotel & casino? Yes. Is this good tasting sushi? Yes! I was staying at the Rio and wanted to give this a shot, and I was not disappointed. The menu is limited and the service is great. I went there a total of 3 times during my stay and I enjoyed every time. The Yellow Tail roll was my favorite. They charge extra for the rolls that are cut, but the uncut rolls can be a little tricky to eat without making a mess.

Yelp
So glad that I found this place! I'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to Sushi and I saw this place and the sushi is very reasonably priced and super fresh not to mention how accommodating the employees were to us. Just an all around vibe with this place. The two people that were working who were just incredibly sweet were Heidi and Robert! We will definitely be coming back to this place when we visit again!

Yelp
I come here every time I'm in Vegas! They have the freshest most well put together omakase style lunch experience. Honestly, in a different setting, they would convince me to pay even triple the price because that's how tasty the sushi is every time I come I see a lot of Vegas locals so you know it's the perfect go to spot. I watched like 10+ people order the sushi poke bowl however I always like to get the royal flush since I like variety. Being a Maryland girl myself the blue crab is my absolute favorite. It is extremely fresh and meaty. They did a great job incorporating true crab flavor into sushi.

Yelp
The area was clean and warming the service was great. We had Tun and Jazz and they made sure we got everything the way we ordered, their conversation was pleasing and entertaining. The food was good for a fast kind of sushi place, I wish they had tempura but the poke bowl was amazing.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch while waiting for our room to become available. There were a number of people there so looked promising. We ordered a California roll and Spicy tuna roll. Hands down some of the worst sushi I've ever had. The California roll was tolerable with enough ginger but my neither my husband or I could eat the spicy tuna roll. It had a very weird flavor to it. Just hoping we aren't having stomach issues later. Seriously the sushi at Sam's club tastes better.

Yelp
Pretty good sushi. It's fast food so don't get your expectations too high. But it definitely doesn't disappoint. Lobster cut roll was my favorite.

Yelp
The hand rolls were delicious the sashimi was great the price was affordable. The service was excellent along with sitting area. The food court is a must good. They did a great job transforming this into a food hall. It had great vibes wish they were busier but it's a must go. I think over time it will get busier. It's a great concept and great for locals. I definitely will go back.

Yelp
Poor sushi rolls, not the best service, they didn't even roll the sushi by hand - they used a machine. Look at this picture.

Yelp
Stood in line under the "Sushi To Go" sign for several minutes waiting for someone to assist us, decided to walk around to where a cashier was actually paying attention to customers, only to be directed BACK to the Sushi To Go location. Took about 8 minutes for the food to be prepared. Food was horribly disappointing, yellowtail had no flavor, spicy tuna has an unidentifiable spice that was not pleasant, and the California roll was saved only by the tasty avocado.

S Q.

Yelp
Worst sushi ever. Gas station sushi is an upgrade from whatever this was. Ordered spicy tuna roll and California roll as the roll selection is extremely limited. Came to $32.00 with tip and we ended up throwing half of the order away as it was that bad. California roll was completely tasteless. Just tasted like unseasoned rice and fake crab. The worst though was the spicy tuna roll that had some crunchy onion in it and zero other flavors. All you could taste was the unseasoned rice and onion. We tried to pick out some spicy tuna so we could taste it without the onion and all you got was a strong cracked pepper flavor, but no tuna or other spices you associate with spicy tuna rolls. They also have a flawed ordering system if you use the kiosk. There were no other customers at lunch time and one guy behind the counter making my sushi. Kiosk says it will text you when order is ready. I watched the guy finish my order and box it, he then walked away. The girl behind the counter was focused on her phone. The guy didn't say anything to her before he left. I was waiting for my text and finally after ten minutes walked over to her and asked if that was my order. She looked surprised there was an order ready (again, face buried in her phone). She then lies and said the guy just finished making it. Five minutes after I picked up the order I received a text saying it was ready.

Yelp
For a Canteen Sushi place, the food was great! The Tuna Chille Crunch was Excellent! Service was fantastic! Would definitely eat here again!

Yelp
I came in to get a poke bowl, the food was great as always but there was a girl named mikayla or something like that... provided terrible service. her energy was very negative and it seemed like she didnt want us there.

Yelp
I came to Rio as I heard they are remodeling the hotel. We used to come here all the time so I was excited to see the changes. I did lunch at Nama Nama and had a great experience. Their hand rolls were so delicious and the seaweed had a nice crispy texture to it. I loved the lump crab roll the most. I also tried the tuna crunch as I love sashimi. The sauce was delicious and it had pieces of garlic and cilantro which balanced so well. I'm excited to check out some of the other stalls.
