Namak Indian Cuisine

I went to Namak Indian cuisine place two weeks ago and it was very tasty. Service is always great and the music does need to be changed to Bollywood instead of lounge music. I visited on a very cold day during January and it was a bit of a challenge because every time someone would walk in the door the breath of cold would come inside in the restaurant. The dishes were mouthwatering, but acidic.

My son found this restaurant and we had lunch here. Best VadaPav in town. Bread is so fresh, soft and perfect patties. We ordered chana Bhatura, kadai chicken, chicken Tikka, kids meal, and masala chai. There nailed the side level perfectly. All dishes were flavorful without to much oil and butter. Bhatura was also so soft, my 19 month old grandson approved. Dhav our server was very sweet and friendly. Overall great Downtown location, clean restaurant, great food and fantastic service.

After the museum we walked down to give it a try & it did not disappoint. Hardeep was an amazing server with great hospitality. I ended up ordering a Lamb Vidaloo , Mild on the Spice level + butter , garlic & regular naans. Everything came out warm & fresh. They both complimented each other and the serving of rice just topped everything off. The mango lassi was so refreshing & tasty, you cannot forget to order one. I did try an Ras Malai dessert & it resembled to arroz & leche I personally loved it. Would recommend anyone to give it a try

I dined at Namak Indian Restaurant & Bar on August 30, 2025, at 10:02 PM CDT and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere with a lively ambience, and the service was exceptional—staff were attentive and friendly throughout. I sampled several dishes: • Bun Tikki and Salmon were the highlights, delivering outstanding flavors and quality. • Afghani and Sev Puri were also excellent, ranking just below the top picks. • Burrata and Murgh Badami were decent but less impressive compared to the others. I plan to return to explore more of the menu. Great job to the team—thank you for the wonderful service!

The food was hit or miss. The chicken lollipop was excellent, while the momos were overly spicy and the sauce tasted slightly raw. The chicken fried dish was outstanding; however, the goat biryani fell short—the goat was undercooked, and the rice lacked flavor.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Dallas, and that’s saying something. Interesting menu with everything served piping hot. Great spiciness and taste. Super friendly service and reasonable prices. Definitely worth the hassle of finding parking downtown.

I ordered tandoori veg momos, vadapavs, paneer biryani & mango lassi for to-go. Sakhi was very kind and helpful to tell me about the container sizes and portions. All the food & service is great - however they could do better with working out over rice of the biryani (personal opinion) which could have done far better making it ‘wow’ from ‘great’. Furthermore, some music would be like cherry over icing.

I’m disappointed with my recent experience. I ordered a combo non veg me that, according to your website, clearly includes both chicken curry and butter chicken for the listed price. However, I received the wrong item, and when I raised the issue, I was told I had made a mistake. I double-checked the website, and it clearly states what’s included—no where in the non-veg does it state daal. Please update your website if that has changed as it is misleading. Also I am including pictures of the ‘chicken’ curry that contained one piece of chicken. For $22 this is a disgrace! I also have no idea what that lumpy piece is in my dish. It would also be better to put different curries in different containers so they do not spill onto each other creating a non edible dish.

Kirtisri Did an excellent job taking care of us. The Mutter Paneer and Butter Chicken were superb. We enjoyed Buttered Naan, and Delicious Vegetable Samosas. the mango Lassi was on point. 5/5 Stars. I love Indian food!!!! I'm in Dallas and instead of brisket, I wanted SAMOSA. In my typical fashion, I Yelped Indian food in walking distance from my hotel. .2 miles walk and I find Namak. Vegetable Samosa. Chili Chicken. Gallic Naan. And a Paul Bunyan sized Taj Mahal lager. I apologize, no pics lol! As soon as he brought it out I was like an uncaged animal. Perfect, I mean perfect combination of spice and flavor. My lips are still tingly, but the heat didn't overshadow the flavor. Everything was perfect. I've not been disappointed much by Yelp reviews and this one was a hit with me. 5 stars

Being in Dallas for a seminar in early October, I went with some coworkers here after people were raving about this spot. To their credit, it's one of the better indian restaurants I've been to for value and taste, not to mention it's right in the downtown area! Each of us ordered something different. With the group being about 12 deep, I don't recall some of the items but the ones I ordered were the Veg Pakoda (fried veggie fritters), lamb curry, and the garlic naan. All were delicious, the curry was one of the most flavorful curries I've had and the lamb was very tender. Scoop that naan in there, OMG! Other items I recall tasting were the veggie samosas, the chicken biryani, and butter chicken; all of which are full of flavors and spices. Mixing those with the basmati rice, we were all so full afterwards. The interior is clean and it felt like we were the only people there although a couple other small groups were at other tables. I dig the yellow/orange colors of the dining area which gives a comfortable vibe. Look forward to more events in Dallas so I can eat here again!

What a great Indian restaurant right in the n middle of downtown Dallas. Namak has great his for this late night folk, staying open until 10pm weekdays and midnight on the weekends. Here you can find tasty authentic Indian food with pretty decent drinks. I've had times where the staff could be a bit better, but I would still return when the craving hits. Especially if it's later and I really want some good Indian food when I'm in the Dallas as downtown area after other places have closed.

I just ordered takeout and got it home. I ordered mild butter chicken, veggie samosas and garlic Naan. I know that's a super basic order but I've had it at several places. The samosas were great. Naan was ok and butter chicken doesn't taste right. The flavor is off and its way too spicy for mild. I can handle med level spice and often get medium spice at thai places...very disappointing and wont be back to this spot. The wait was also extremely long. I called to ask about my butter chicken since the container said hot on it. I was told that it was right but i couldn't really understand the person on the other end. After posting $35 for the food its quite a disappointment. Better indian food can be found at roti grill and mughlai fine indian cuisine.

The aroma of spice and all good things met me 50 yards away. Place was clean and modern. I was greeted at the door by a friendly face who showed me to a nicely appointed table. Indian beer to whet my appetite. Papadams to compliment the beer. Spiced lamb appetizer.....Fantastic. Standard chicken curry to follow. Nice but lacked seasoning. All in all a great Downtown Dallas Indian

Chicken 65, Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan Butter Chicken was great!! Really great sauce, super flavorful, decently tender chicken. The chicken 65 was okay, kind of fell flat. Garlic Naan was yummy!

Got their food to-go and they have very good portions. Got the butter chicken mild, lamb vindaloo medium, garlic naan, and rice. Don't be a fool like me- rice comes with each curry. I ended up with THREE cups of rice for two people... Butter chicken was your typical flavor. Buttery, sweet. Pretty basic but delish. Large chunks of chicken breast. Lamb vindaloo had a nice kick and tender lamb. Flavorful, acidic, spicy. Garlic naan was chewy and delish. Can't say anything bad about carbs and garlic. Overall hit the spot! Would definitely come back.

While it's hidden in a nook and took me a while to find, I am glad I found it. Great ambience as you enter... a mix of hole in the wall and elegance ... the food was awesome. I ordered masala tea and vada paav. The combo was awesome and the Vada had filling that was tasty af. It's seldom that vada ( of Vada pav combo) have such tasty filling with well Mashed potato and a medley of various spices dancing in your mouth. After that an order of Chole Bhature... the Bhature was exquisitely leavened and cooked and fluffy. The chile was not too spicy and yet melted in my mouth with every bite. I must say the service was fantastic too. My server was from Punjab and had a charming smile and listened well to my 'customizations' To the regular orders, and delivered it well. Overall FANTASTIC experience.

We came in for a drink after seeing a live performance at the beautiful Majestic Theater (just a two minute walk away). You don't enter any of the office tower entrances to get to this restaurant. It's got its own, dedicated entrance. They had an impressive selection of liquor and cocktails. I just had an IPA on draft, but appreciated the other options. We'd already had dinner before the show, so we just ordered appetizers. We had chicken samosas and vada pav (fluffy buns with potatoes croquettes). Both were very good, but were authentically spicy. So be prepared for that! They had a beautiful assortment of desserts on display but we were too full to try them. The atmosphere in the restaurant is a bit casual, but enjoyable. And the service was great. Our waiter delivered us a level of service you only get in India, which is always very enjoyable, and is pretty rare in Dallas. He was dedicated to ensuring that we were well taken care of and he turned up the hospitality nicely. So, while the ambiance wasn't extremely authentic, the food and service definitely were. And next time I'm down town, I'll stop in again. I wouldn't come downtown just for this restaurant without knowing about parking. You can end up paying more for parking than for your meal, depending on when you come and where you park. But if you're in the area, it's a really nice option!

Definitely a 5star for both service and food. We were a very hungry group of 15 people who stopped by 20mins before closing last Sunday. We fully expected to be turned away because of how late it was, but the owner and his staff kindly accommodated us. We ordered a variety of food including chicken & lamb biryani, chicken vindaloo, samosas, momos, chili chicken, chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, butter naan, fried rice and mango lassi. Everything was amazing! I am very picky with my chicken biryani and theirs was the most authentic I have had since my time in the Middle East. They have big servings too. The samosas were on the tinier side but we did not mind it. Some of the people in our group have never had Indian food before and they all loved it too. If you're new to spicy food, I suggest not going higher than medium spice. Wish I had taken more pics of the food but we were all starving. We appreciate the owner's kindness and the great service from Raj and Vinketh. We will definitely be back the next time we are in downtown Dallas.

We went there because it was close to the hotel but found out: Food was very ordinary Servers were not present and when we finally got their attention, they was not too nice I will definitely take an uber to go to Shiva's next time when I am in town. It is night and day difference. The next day when I mentioned it to my coworkers. They all told me to not go there anymore.

Namak Indian Cuisine has quickly become my favorite Indian spot in downtown Dallas. Tucked away in plain sight, just a few steps down into the old underground walking paths of Dallas, you'll find this amazing Indian restaurant right across from an unassuming Starbucks. As you approach, the aroma of exotic spices draws you in, guiding you to the front door. We sampled the chicken samosa and lamb biryani--both dishes were truly flavorful and amazing. A word of caution: the lamb biryani comes in a large portion suitable for two or three people, and it packs quite a spicy punch! By definition, biryani is a spicy fried rice, and the mildest heat level they offer is still medium. Be sure to mix it with the accompanying yogurt to give your taste buds a break from the heat. For the quickest service, I recommend sitting at the bar (pro tip: this works well at most restaurants when feasible). Our bartender and server, Jagdish, was the kindest and most mellow bartender I've encountered. While we didn't try the cocktails this time, they looked fantastic, and I'm eager to sample them on my next visit. On the downside, like some authentic spots, Namak can be quite warm inside. Update: They added an extra air conditioning and while it was a bit stuffy and warm before, it's perfect now to overcome the Texas heat. Update: The beer taps had a temporary issue here but came back today (August 2024) and the modelo on draft is amazingly cold and has the draft flavor you want in a beer. Kudos!!

The quest for a quality Indian restaurant continues! My go to place downtown was closed and I saw Namak nearby as an option. Asked for butter chicken and ended up being served tikka masala. Pointed this out to my server and she proceeded to argue that it was butter chicken.... I didn't even bother to point out that the menu said it would be shredded chicken and I got large chunks ! The butter naan was drenched in butter. The papad and accompanying chutney was the best thing about this meal.

Very good Indian in downtown dallas. Namak is located right in the heart of downtown so parking can be a challenge at times. We were fortunate enough to get street parking. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and it was not crowded at all. Maybe three or four other tables were occupied. We also had 2 little ones in town and they were accommodating to our little ones - brought their water out in to go cups which is always a nice touch. The service is great and the ambiance is casual. No real Indian decor but not really necessary. We ordered a ton of food and brought plenty home. We got the naan basket, the goat sukka, the chicken tikka masala, the malai kofta, and the chicken karai. All were delicious. They modify the spice levels to your taste so take the recommendations of the staff here. We did get a couple of dishes that we asked to be and they were! The naan basket was super tasty and we got the cheese naan to try it out and it was super airy and fun. All the other dishes were great as well. My youngest (5 years old) ran into a pole out front and wanted ice so our server brought her ice in a glove (those plastic kind) which I thought was a super nice touch. All in all a great spot in downtown dallas with delicious Indian food!

Excellent food and service. Chicken curry with garlic naan delicious. Very clean and the service was top notch.

It was a pretty quiet place. The waitress was nice the food was good. But I felt over charged for the portion of food they give you. Then it was three adults,myself and three kids. So they changed us a service fee because the party was six and over. So I'm like ok whatever. We were both charged $14.00.I can understand if the party was all adults. I will never be coming back. When I visit Texas again. Then I can tell the staff was talking about me cause they all kept looking over

Great Indian food that's decently priced for being right downtown! I went with a group of coworkers, we all ordered something different. I had the aloo palak, garlic naan, lentil soup and mango lassi. I also tried the butter chicken that my friend ordered. Everything was very tasty! The mango lassi was thicker than what I'm used to, but it was still really good. We dined in at dinner time and there were several other tables with patrons, but still plenty of room. I think the price is decent, considering it's downtown, but anywhere else it would be overpriced. My vegetarian meal was $18. They have a good selection of vegetarian options, as well as chicken, lamb, and shrimp.

I had the chicken curry, tandoori chicken momos, chicken tikki masala and the garlic naan. Both the momos and the masala I am still thinking about the next day. They were absolutely chefs kiss!! The flavors were on point. The curry and naan were good as well just not on the same level. I will definitely be back and bring friends

The aromas that emit from this restaurant all the way from across the street drew me in and I just could not resist trying the food. The staff is very attentive and make sure to keep the table and the restaurant clean. Cherry was my server and she was no less than fantastic! Their attention to detail was impecable! The food was amazing! The perfect amount of spice and flavor.

I would order the goat curry and the butter nan, if you ask the waitress she will tell you what is traditionally great Try a few different dishes

Flavor-wise, it was great! I ordered the Hariyali from the Tandoori grill. Marinated chicken chunks with mint dipping sauce. However, for $18, I was expecting it to come with a side of rice, at least. Maybe it's because I grabbed it to go and did not check my order. Maybe it is supposed to come with rice, or something. For $18 for lunch, I got 6 big chicken chunks over a tablespoon of cabbage slaw. Still, it was very tasty along with the dip. I had to supplement the chicken with something I'd brought from home as my lunch this day just so I could have a side dish. It is still my go to place for Indian food in downtown Dallas. The staff is great as well. Just make sure you check your order. Go there. Get some. Life is too short for boring food.

Key points (FYI this was a to-go order): 1. The food is very good. Very flavorful and currently my favorite place to get Indian food in Downtown. I liked everything I ordered, including the Gobi 65, Chicken 65, Butter chicken, and Prawn Biryani. 2. You get a LOT of food. I was really surprised how much food was in there. Usually you have to choose between quality or quantity but here you get both. 3. The food is very spicy, even when ordering "mild". If you like spicy, you will love it. It you can't tolerate spicy, be warned.

I grew up eating Indian cuisine, but baby !!! Lamb vindaloo was sooo tender. I didn't have to keep on chewing like some places. I didn't want mine spicy. They didn't make it hot for me. The samosas were good as well and the mango lassi. The customer service was great as well. Our server's name was Kitty. I have a review on Google as well. Just lovely !

Came in with a group of five and was accommodated with a smile. Some of the best service I've had at an Indian restaurant. Will be sure to return when I'm back in town. Cauliflower Manchurian: 5/5 A must try Indo-Chinese appetizer. Melt in your mouth goodness. Chicken Tikka Masala: 5/5 An excellent rendition of a classic dish. Mild, creamy, delicious. Lam Rogan Josh: 3/5 Meat was a little dry, and I didn't find the flavor quite deep enough beyond the heat. Still, it was good with my rice. Garlic Naan: 4/5 Good but not amazing. Gulab Jamun: 2/5 Tasted too much of sugar, not enough of honey and rosewater. Skip.

Great food, prompt service & vibe of local indian restaurant! Visited over the weekend, even in rush hours they did best job!

Ragni was a lovely waitress and took great care of us. The food was flavorful and just the right amount of spice for a cooler day. It is well lit and the decor and music were added the right vibe. There is metered street parking. I enjoyed the spicer version of the chicken curry while my husband said the mild was his max spice level. We will definitely come back.

This hit the spot - definitely a comfort meal. The chicken tikka masala was delicious but I have to admit that it tasted more like butter chicken in my opinion. Don't know if they may have accidentally given us the wrong dish but I enjoyed it nonetheless. We ate that with some garlic naan which never fails to disappoint. The chicken hariyali was not my favorite. It was pretty dry but the flavors were on point. This was also the first time trying momos which really were so good - would def recommend. We closed the night out with gulab jamun. It had the perfect amount of sweetness and was warm which I appreciated. The ambiance was great - I loved hearing some of the classic Indian songs I hadn't heard since my childhood.

It was fairly easy to make a reservation online. We were 5 of us. The server was very attentive to our requests about milder food for the kids. We ordered a couple virgin mojitos, gobhi manchurian, veg pakodas, kadhai chicken, palak paneer, butter naan and garlic naan. The food was fine - nothing bad but nothing great. The appetizers were better than the entrees. The place was clean and spacious. That's all I have to say!

Yes, parking on the street and you walk to the restaurant. It's on the inside of an office building. Just keeping walking and you will not miss it. Now let's talk about the service. Very nice gentlemen greeted me and provided a table choice. It wasn't packed on a Sunday. Inside tables and surrounding areas were clean. I asked lots of questions and they were polite and answered about culture, spice level and food options. I know your waiting for me to tell you about the food. Give me a min, okay fine here we go. I went with the usual, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. We also tried the lamb curry, very spicy and a delight to the mouth. Very savory with the cheese naan. I was hesitant to try the cheese naan and boy am I glad that I did. Soft, pulls apart and the warm cheese is ohh so delicious. Each meal is reasonably priced and they offer alcohol should you choose. Our server offered us free desert and it was delicious. I will be back and totally urge you and your family and friends to visit this new establishment. It's only been open 2 months and it will continue to set a standard among nice restaurants in downtown Dallas.

This is my first time at this establishment and my first time eating Indian food. My girlfriend smelled the food from outside and had to go in. Cherry greeted us. She was friendly and accommodating. The staff kept the table clean and my water cup filled. I liked how they worked as a team. I enjoyed the Mango Lassi it was my first time having it. It was not too sweet and nice and creamy. I also had Lamb Biryani and the garlic Naan. The Lamb was tender and had some kick to it. Although it had some kick, it wasn't too spicy. The Naan was the perfect amount of garlic. It was also very soft and warm. I loved my entire experience and would consider eating Indian food again, especially at this establishment.

Food was amazing and full of flavor. The server was sweet and attentive and it wasn't too crowded (surprising, since it was dinner time and every other place was bustling, but it's a bit hidden). One of the reason we tried it. Little hidden gem ;). Everything seemed clean and quiet.

The server was okay, just not very helpful on helping select a dish. In order to enjoy the cuisine, you really have to study the menu in advance

The food is good and the service is outstanding! This is an unpretentious downtown spot you can rely on. This is not one of those places where "hot" really means mild! They bring on the heat, and it's delish!

Amazing food here. Ice cold beers and SUPER hot spicy curry. I just loved it and the service and ambiance were also top notch. If you're in downtown Dallas and like Indian Food go check this place out for sure !!

I absolutely love their chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Everything is so flavorful. Generous portions so it's like getting two meals for the price of one. I always get it delivered and they do a great job packing everything so it doesn't spill.

Not a fan of where the place is located if you're coming from outside of downtown since it's difficult to find parking but the inside is wonderful and smelled amazing. We ordered their chicken 65 for our appetizer which are pieces of crispy chicken smothered in a sauce filled with Indian spices. They were bursting with flavor and it tasted like a spicy Thai noodle soup. For our curries, we got the butter chicken and the matar paneer. The butter chicken was pretty good but it was a little too sweet. They were generous on the protein. The matar paneer had lots of cottage cheese and the curry was packed with spicy flavor. I loved this one a lot. I would recommend this vegan dish! The basmati that came with the curry wasn't the best we've had before. It was a bit dry but was still enjoyable with the curry. We also got the garlic naan, which was plenty for one order. Some parts of it were burnt but the taste and texture of it wasn't too bad. Service was fantastic. The lady we had was very helpful and gave us full attention. I would say this place is really good for someplace located in downtown and I do recommend this place if you're in Dallas.

A decent place for Indian food in downtown Dallas. The smell of the food was very captivating (while walking on the streets). The service was quick and polite. Their vadapav and masala papad were good. The goat biryani was good and the portion was huge. Overall a good place.

Right away when walking in you are met with the intriguing aroma of a multitude of spices. The food was very flavorful and aromatic with just the right amount of heat. The server Rajni was nice and but not super attentive. I received my only drink refill after I finished my food and my wife never got one. My biggest issue was every single price on the receipt was higher than what was shown on the menu. The other issue was the drinking water was warm and straight from the sink.

Great place for lunch. Service could be faster given the short time period. Paneer Butter Masala tasted fresh with less butter/cream. Naan was average and as a result, overpriced.

I've been here twice. The butter chicken, tandoori chicken, and the garlic Naan are delicious. Today I asked for just water and apparently I need to specify with ice because it was warm, not room temperature warm but it was on a stove 15 minutes ago warm. That aside, the food is one of the best Indian Restaurants around.

The BEST Indian food in DFW. This new restaurant has delicious food and amazing food. A very attentive staff take their cue from a super friendly owner, Parish. We had the Grilled Sampler that was freshly prepared and tasted great. The lamb chops with naan bread were the best we have ever had at an Indian restaurant. But our favorite was the vegetarian dish, Spinach n Chickpeas. This Mumbai style food is spicy, so don't get adventurous and order 'HOT' level of spice Highly recommended. We will be back again and again.

Ordered online for takeaway and everything was ready on time. We ordered chicken korma, dal tadkewali and garlic naan. The chicken korma was creamy and tasty and the dal was perfectly comforting. One order of garlic naan was plenty for both of us to share. I ordered medium on spice and probably could've gone one level higher. We are excited to have a solid Indian option near us!

Really good food and large servings of it. The food is made fresh and their service quick. This place is my go-to lunch spot in downtown Dallas.

Food was amazing. Some of the absolute best Indian fare I've ever had. Tandoori chicken was succulent, spicy, and flavorful. The onion kulcha had an excellent carmelization, giving it an unexpected but welcome sweetness. And I tried a reasonable price Indian Whiskey for the first time ever. The Amrut single malt had a suprising fruitiness that went well with its strong oak flavors and paired the tandoori chicken really well. Maybe I lucked out and ordered the best offerings they have. But I'm guessing their other plates are as high a quality as my meal. I'm only in Dallas for a week, but I suspect I might be eating at least one more meal at Namak before I depart for home.

The food was AMAZING! I ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan. I'm definitely coming back. The service was great too.
