Google
Blown away by their biriyani, the flavors were rich and vibrant and the spice level was perfect, they provided a large supply of raita to cut the spice and it was sweet and creamy to perfectly compliment the spice. The restaurant itself is clean, modern and family run. Members of the family take turns waiting tables taking orders and handling the take away orders. The laughter of young children adds a nice ambience to the place. The food itself brings me back to my time living in India and the flavors and spice could transport you there even on the coldest of Chicago days. Will be back soon. :)

Google
We ordered takeout, the food was ready on time and every single thingy was carefully packed to avoid spilling. The food was very warm when we got home and very yummy too! Thank you!

Google
Quality decreased so much! This used to be one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the city. I hadn't ordered for a many months so I was very surprised at receiving the food (it was a delivery order). The pieces of naan were very hard, the mango lassi had lots of pulp bits in it (at least I think that's what they were). The lamb samosa was extremely salty and looked like it had been reheated. Unfortunately I will not order again from this restaurant.

nick D.

Google
Delicious food and a lovely little restaurant. Had great service, too. Tried a little bit of everything. Dishes can be prepared at different spice levels. I'd recommend the saag paneer and the cheese nan. Saffron in the mango lassi was a nice touch. Would definitely eat here again!

Google
I have always loved Indian food but can't handle the spicy flavor. This was the first restaurant that made it truly mild while still maintaining the delicious authentic and ethnic flavors of the food. I will definitely get food from here again! Highly recommended!

Emmanuel L.

Google
Came here for Mothers Day. I had a lamb dish and asked them to make it spicy because I usually like it that way. I still liked it but it was too spicy. My mom had the lentils and she enjoyed it. Good food. Would recommend.

Google
Thus is a to go indian/nepalese restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious. Service was outstanding and I recommend it and definitely will be back with family and friends. 10 of 10 stars!

Google
I went to dinner tonight with my partner and 4 other friends, and we absolutely loved the food! We all ordered appetizers and entrees to share. Tandoori Chicken was amazing, along with the Paneer Tiki Masala, and Chicken Briyani. We’ve come here before, but we keep coming back for the food. The service was good - folks were friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
So far the best reasonably priced Indian food I've had in Chicago. I'm not an Indian food snob, but can confidently recommend this place if you're looking for a middle of the road spot in terms of price. You could definitely find cheaper and definitely find more expensive, but for where it lands in price point the quality is unmatched. Fantastic samosas, great chicken tikka, great lamb saag. Portions are large with plenty of meat. Never had any issues with service or wait times, pickup is easy, and the vibe inside is also pleasant and appropriate for the price. Really no complaints, very solid option.

Yelp
First of all, the food seems to have a lot of food coloring. Second, it's rich and oily. We tried a few different dishes and can't say we would repeat any of them. It's standard fare but in a city with so much competition, we're unlikely to return here, unfortunately. On the plus side, quantities were generous and flavors were spot on.

Yelp
First time visiting this place for dinner. I think the food was just alright. The samosa chat was good but I didn't love that they had broken the samosa into pieces already. The noodles looked better than they tasted, to me, they were a little bland. Service was decent. The food came out pretty quickly. Not sure if I'd ever be back. TBD!
google avatar

Yelp
I can't speak to if it's authentic, but we enjoyed everything we ordered. It was our first time, and being a bit under the weather, I didn't want anything too spicy. The mild was basically no spice though, so next time we'll be sure to add! The Garlic Naan was fluffy and good with or without dipping. Chicken Makhani and Chicken Shahi Korma were both great, but in hindsight, a kick of spice was needed. Generous amounts of chicken, but rice was sold separately. Gobi Manchurin was good but it would've been better crisper. Glad this is close to home, so we'll order again.
google avatar

Kruti P.

Yelp
Stopped on a weeknight for dinner. We were seated right away and the food was hot as there were only a couple tables filled. We ordered Gobi Manchurian but wasn't impressed this time. It wasn't crispy like they made it last time, but still had good flavor. The chicken makhani was good delicious and spicy. The Matar paneer was so so good. The spicy naan is spicy for sure. Highly recommend these dishes! Overall, good food!

Yelp
Love love love Namaste. We have ordered it for the office a few times and it's always a hit and the food is fresh. Have yet to come in and eat but will be doing so soon. Highly recommend, everything is always flavorful, fresh, and delicious. 10's across the board

Yelp
So good! My boyfriend and I have come here a few times and it's always been a pleasant experience. I want to say this is the best Indian restaurant I've tried.
google avatar

Phillip R.

Yelp
The food is really good and the amount of meat they put into it is A LOT. I may have gotten more than 1 chicken breast in my Chicken Tikka Masala. My only issue was that the pieces were really large and I'm not sure if it was cooked in the sauce as an entire chicken breast but it's not really integrated into the meat. The pieces are massive. Like 2" x 1" so there's not a lot of flavor in the meat. Picture attached

Yelp
AMAZING Indian food. I'll admit I don't have a lot to compare Namaste to because I haven't tried many Indian restaurants, but if this is your first time trying Indian food I would say Namaste will give you a great first impression. I was very impressed!!!!! A group of my friends and I ordered so many things - butter naan, spicy naan, garlic naan, veggie samosas, veggie momo, chana masala, paneer tikka masala, ghosh biryani, chicken tikka masala, mixed spicy Indian pickles and rice. Overall, our favorites were the paneer tikka masala and garlic naan. Everyone thought the paneer tikka masala (which comes with cheese instead of meat) was better than the chicken one, so I would not skip this dish. I could drink the tikka masala sauce that came with both of them, it was so good. I poured it all over the naan and rice we got. We also all agreed the the garlic naan was the best out of all of them. The other two didn't have strong flavors and were more plain than the garlic naan. I loved the chana masala and samosas a lot too. The chana masala was just chickpeas cooked in some sort of tomato sauce with a bunch of spices. It was very simple, but so flavorful and delicious. To be honest, I don't even know what came on the samosas, but they reminded me of an Indian version of nachos and I loved them so much. The spicy Indian pickles were very interesting. They were not my favorite and I would not advise getting them. They had a very strong flavor that completely took over the flavor of everything else you ate them with. No one was really a fan of the ghosh biryani either - one of my friends said the lamb in it was good, but overall it was too oily and salty. I can't wait to order from here again to try more things!!!!!

Yelp
We ordered takeout this week and really enjoyed our food! We ordered a side of rice, which was a generous portion, shrimp & paneer tikka, and samosas. Everything was flavorful and hot, even though we ordered about 45-50 minutes before close. It was hot outside, and we'd been walking home, so the gentleman inside allowed us to sit while we waited for our takeout order and poured us a couple glasses of water. Very much appreciated that. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.
google avatar

Natasha P.

Yelp
Yes! I love this place and go OFTEN. I love the chicken tikka masala, beef simosas, garlic naan. I love it all! It's usually pretty empty with about 2-4 tables full at a time. I wish I had $1 every time I went because in these past 3 years I'd probably get over 600$ back

Rachel H.

Yelp
I don't recommend ordering from here, at least for delivery. First, there was pretty bad delivery service as the delivery person did not contact me when the food arrived. So the food sat on my doorstep for about 30 min until the status updated on Yelp to say that it had been delivered 30 minutes ago. Also the food isn't great. I ordered lamb vindaloo and chicken samosa, and after all the trouble with the delivery, it was only mediocre. In addition, you have to order the rice separately so it comes with a massive amount of rice, but then the actual entree is a little on the small side compared to other Indian restaurants that I've ordered from.
google avatar

Nicholas W.

Yelp
Still stellar! We have ordered takeout from Namaste upwards of 10 times at this point and they have never disappointed. It's always flavorful and when we order our food spicy, it is actually spicy. Was beginning to think there was no good Indian food in Chicago before we found this place. They rock!
google avatar

Leah C.

Yelp
food was good, ambiance was ok... it was uncomfortably warm (and i'm always cold). my friends ordered dal, saag paneer, samosas and naan/rice to share. we asked for recommendations/advice on portions and dishes and the server didn't really have anything to offer... we had ordered 2 orders of samosas since there were three of us and she put in the order wrong and when we questioned it, never followed up so we just let it pass. food was good but i'm not sure if the service colored my dining experience overall?
google avatar

Jordan L.

Yelp
This is a solid Indian spot in Logan Square. Since we ordered out, we didn't really get to fully experience the ambiance of the place. The people at the front counter were very friendly and triple checked that we had all parts of our order. Butter chicken: such a velvety rich flavor and I preferred this over the chicken tikka masala. Both were very tasty though We also has samosas which had a nice kick and weren't super heavy. The garlic naan did the damn thing, like garlic naan tends to do. We also ordered some palak paneer which was super flavorful and I would definitely order it again. All in all pretty good portion sizes. I'll definitely go back

Patricia C.

Yelp
Amazing ambience, decor, loved the chandelier. Quaint, not a lot of tables that's why reservation is necessary. They do a fantastic takeout as I was there and I know why. Server, host, everybody was very attentive. I had enough to bring some home and it's just like I'm right back in the restaurant. The lamb Samoa's without a doubt, hands-down I've never had such amazing Samoa's Then they have the sauce, tamarind, mint sauce, and then the spicy one that they serve. Cannot go wrong in this restaurant. Chicken Thali, just so good.

Yelp
This is some seriously good food you know what I'm saying, namaste. Portion is huge so huge that I could not finish it in one day but in a span of three days. The spice level is so spicy I underestimated it and was fire fire but so good. I really enjoy the naan a lot and I like how thin it was. The garlic was my favorite. I've live in Logan for years and finally got to explore what the neighborhood has to offer and this a great addition. Parking is neighborhood parking, free but can be hard to find.
google avatar

Neha M.

Yelp
We recently moved in the neighborhood and decided to try the Indian place down the street. Nice, cozy and comfortable ambience! We got a complimentary pappadum with chutneys. We ordered the veg vindaloo and chicken tikka masala along with tandoori roti and garlic naan. The curries tasted amazing and were the right spice level for ordering spicy food. The naan and roti were very well done and tasted awesome. We will be back soon!

Yelp
My go to for authentic Indian food in Chicago. I was sent here by a friend who lived in India, and claimed this was better than Devon. I was shocked to learn she was right. Absolutely eat here. In particular, I love the dahi puri, chicken makhani, and all of the naans. Phenomenal.

Yelp
I can't believe this place isn't more popular! Hidden away in a neighborhood on N California Avenue, this small unassuming restaurant serves AMAZING Indian/Nepalese food. Dropped by around peak dinner time, and before I could enter the restaurant, an employee came out to greet me and welcome me in. I sat outside; there are only two tables that sets four each on either side of the door. Luckily no one else was there (and surprisingly it stayed that was throughout my whole meal. However there were plenty of people who came by for pick up/delivery). Wait staff was friendly and attentive. When ordering, they even warned me of the spiciness of the chicken vindaloo. Appetizers came out first; samosa chaat and Bambay bhel puri were delicious. I'm not familiar with either of these two dishes but everything tasted so refreshing. The garlic naan came out at the same time as the main dishes (Lamb Shahi Korma and Chicken Vindaloo). They'll provide more rice if you ask. Both main dishes were great, and the Chicken Vindaloo was spicy as the waiter had said. I loved the garlic naan was hot and soft but not chewy. At the end, they brought out free mukhwas. I was unfamiliar with this as well so it was a nice surprise. Wild definitely recommend this place!

Jayana D.

Yelp
The food here is delicious! Everything was fresh and they were very generous with their portions as well. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down the best in Chicago. Fabulous flavors. You can tell nothing is rushed! The Chicken Makhani is the best I have had anywhere. Tender chicken that falls apart and the sauce is to die for!! The nanny is perfect warm and fresh. Like it came right to your table. In these trying times it's great to have food that tastes like it just came out of the kitchen. Namaste is a must

Carissa L.

Yelp
Very yummy. Ordered the Palak Paneer & Chicken Tikka Masala. Service was stellar & very appropriately priced. No complaints. Scrum diddly umptious.

Yelp
This is definitely my new favorite place to get Indian food! We called and ordered for pickup (cause COVID) and were able to get our food within 25 minutes. It seems like for now this place is a 1 man show, which amazed me even more. We ordered Paneer Tikka Masala, Chicken Shahi Korma, Garlic Naan, Vegetable Samosas, and Chicken Samosas. Everything was spiced perfectly and had an amazing flavor. Both the Paneer Tikka Masala & Chicken Shahi Korma came with sides of rice. The Garlic Naan was 2 big pieces per order, which we were pleasantly surprised by. All of the samosas were DELICIOUS. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Daniella P.

Yelp
The food is always good, and the service is always fast and friendly. We love the vegetable samosas, chicken tikka masala and vindaloo, butter and garlic naan and jasmine rice.
google avatar

Leah W.

Yelp
We ordered from here for delivery and it was very good. We tried the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, shrimp vindaloo and the chicken tandoori. Literally the only thing that was a little dissapointing was the chicken tandoori (though the spice level was amazing and it smelled great; they are definitely cooking it in a brick oven) - only because it was a little overcooked and dry. I don't know why people complain about paying like $4 bucks for rice, it was a huge amount of rice they sent, and I think customers should understand how costly ingredients and packaging are. We'll be making this a regular spot to order from.

Yelp
Was so thrilled to hear a new Indian spot was opening in Logan Square that I trekked my 8 month pregnant self out to go check it out. We went on a Sunday for dinner and it seems the word is getting out because more than half the restaurant was full. The restaurant is small-ish with a unique layout that looks into an outdoor space behind the bar. There is comfortable booth seating available. They may have been short of staff as there were only two servers working who also acted as hosts and bussers. Service was kind, but slow. We had the Paneer Tikka Masala and the Veg Thali. My masala was good with a ton of paneer cubes but I wished it had more vegetables so it wasn't paneer after paneer. The thali was sort of a combo plate that had dal, a cauliflower dish, greens and rice pudding. My husband who usually gobbles up Indian food like Cookie Monster gobbles up cookies was unimpressed by the thali. Overall, we expect amped up spices and flavors but everything we had was a bit timid. We're glad we checked it out and are always supportive of local businesses. Happy to see there's a new option in LS for Indian food.

Jasmine W.

Yelp
My new favorite Indian food place in Chicago. I have ordered in 3 times lately and the food is always hot and fresh. The veggie samosas are delicious and have some sort of seasoning on the outside. The chicken makhani is essentially a butter chicken and I'd order just a vat of the sauce if I could. Even with the chicken tikka masala. The flavor is so good. I sop it up with the garlic naan and order a side of rice which is generous (unlike other places). 5 stars.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
Fantastic Indian food in a cozy simple cafe. We shared an amazing Lamb Tikka Masala, some solid paneer, and naan bread that was incredible. We will be back!
google avatar

Madison S.

Yelp
Like many other comments I have no idea why this place doesn't have more hype - this is some of the best (more reasonably priced) Indian food that I have had since living in the Logan Square area. Nothing was lacking in flavor and the portion sizing were spot on. My husband and I shared 2 apps and 1 main dish and we were both incredibly full. The chicken tikka masala was definitely not spicy (but it usually isn't) - the gobi manchurian hit with spice in all the right ways. There is a few outdoor tables (the patio is quiet small) but the space indoors looked fairly big. The staff was also super friendly which is ALWAYS a plus in restaurants. I will absolutely be back. Also this place is BYOB - another reason to come!
google avatar

Kara K.

Yelp
I dined in with a few friends on a Saturday. We ordered the samosa chat, chicken tikka, mutter paneer, and garlic naan. The portion sizes were good, the server was attentive, and the food was sooo good. I can't wait to return!
google avatar

Fernando S.

Yelp
Extra spicy paneeer was delicious! They had just the right amount of spice to keep the flavor but give it a good kick.
google avatar

Ryan P.

Yelp
Fantastic food, great vibe, polite service. It's byob but if you're going on foot there's nothing that close by to the north where you can grab stuff, so buy your drinks before you head out. Everything on the menu we had was amazing. Chicken saag, garlic naan, cheese naan, pakora appetizer, it all tasted amazing. Definitely start out with the pakora if you're hungry.
google avatar

Lynn M.

Yelp
We ordered take out from here on a Monday night. The amount of food is large and they pack it very secure so nothing spilled. We got the following Chicken curry: this came with boneless chicken and a side of white rice. This was not as flavorful as I was excepting based on the reviews. Chicken biryani: I asked for it to be spicy and it was not at all. The chicken tasted bland and barley any seasoning for the dish. I ended up adding some spices to the dish from home. Samosa chaat: this is what we were most excited to try but it was more like soup and less of the samosa which was a bummer. Overall If we were to order from this place I would try going in person it might be better.

Lauren O.

Yelp
Paneer masala with butter naan was easily all I thought about for an entire week after I had it for the first time. I waited desperately for enough time to pass to let myself order it again. Fresh and full of flavor. Ordered for delivery. Only complaint is price. Almost $20 for a small soup container worth of deliciousness is almost criminal.

Chris M.

Yelp
Stopped in for an early lunch, 11:30. We were the only folks in the dining room. The service was prompt. We had the vegetable mo-mos, palak paneer and vegetable jalfrezi. All were hot and delightful. Very tasteful and pleasing decor. Dining room and restroom were very clean. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Shoo wee!! This place is the bomb dot and COM !!! Yes!!!!! Really good and well made good. Loved it very part of it.
google avatar

Hailey F.

Yelp
First and last time. Service from the waitress was unacceptable. I ordered biryani and naan and she literally responded "naan? No! No naan that does not go with biryani!" Her attitude and tone was absolutely shocking. I ordered both anyway because I like naan on its own. Do not tell customers what they can and cannot order when it's something from your menu? Made my partner and I feel self conscious and judged the entire time we ate.
google avatar

Haley W.

Yelp
Spotted this place when getting sushi next door (shout-out to Volcano sushi, delicious all you can eat!) and decided to check it out. So happy I did! I've noticed Indian food in Chicago is insanely pricey and was pleasantly surprised that the prices here seemed fairly reasonable, lower than average. Placed a phone order and when I showed up 20 minutes later (warning, parking is a nightmare) it was ready. I specifically said NO CILANTRO on anything, and emphasized that I cannot eat it AT ALL. When I checked the bag before I left I saw the naan was covered in cilantro. I notified the host and he apologized profusely and had the cook make me a new one. The cook then came out and further apologized, it was unnecessary but very kind. I appreciate the attentiveness and care. The mekhani was delicious, so rich and the chicken had killer char flavor. The tikka was good, but not nearly as good as the mekhani. I love that the entrees come with rice instead of having to purchase separate. I also LOVE that they individually plastic wrapped every single item, absolutely NO chance of spillage on the way home. Overll I'm really impressed with Namaste, a restaurant that puts a lot of thought into what they do.
google avatar

Thea G.

Yelp
A great place to have dinner, whether it's with a date or by yourself after work. It's a business casual atmosphere with elegant interior, peaceful music, and richly spiced food. It's moderately pricy for the portion, but don't be fooled -- you'll be full faster than you think. The vibes, attentive service, and cuisine are worth the check (I rang up around $40 by myself). You can tell that they take great care in preparing each dish from scratch. That type of honor in cooking and presentation takes a little time, though I didn't find myself waiting more than 15 minutes. I left happy, with a full bag of leftovers. The next time I come here with friends, we're for sure getting the veg thali to share.
google avatar

Tino B.

Yelp
Ambiance is quiet interesting: it makes you feel transported to some far away place. Food was fine, a bit of a hit and miss, depending on the items in the menu (lentils not that great). Service was slow but personalized.
google avatar

Artie B.

Yelp
I have ordered from this restaurant over 100 times easily. My previous Yelp review I raved how amazing this place was. Well today I tried to order my usual veggie samosas, chicken Tikka and chicken curry. To my surprise it now says entrees do not include rice. Like how are we supposed to eat this like a soup? Just the basic thing like rice is not included? Just tells me everything I need to know about this place. They have become greedy. Sad because I really loved this place and I have ordered from here for a long time. However I will rather support other family owned businesses in the area that don't charge you extra for what supposed to be included!! Just basic principles, would you buy a sandwich then pay for the bun separately? Obviously No.
google avatar

Audrey L.

Yelp
From the outside this looks like a pretty unassuming place, but this is a solid spot for Indian food! The dishes we tried were very flavorful but not too spicy. We got the butter chicken, chicken korma, and garlic naan. Everything was delicious! The butter chicken had a bit more tomato flavor than I usually expect, but it was still very good. The chicken korma had the right touch of sweetness and was very creamy. I liked how the chicken in both dishes were cooked tender. The garlic naan was also nice surprise; one order came with 2 full pieces. Overall a great spot for tasty Indian food. Takeout is a good option here!
google avatar

Jeannie L.

Yelp
This is our new go to Indian restaurant now. We ordered the Mutter Panner, Chicken Briyani and Veg Samosa. It was all amazing and spiced right. Echoing all other reviews on hidden gem! We carried out but the food was well packed and quality was equally amazing. We will be back!
google avatar

Alice K.

Yelp
Loved our meal here. And have gotten take out since then. We had the daal, lamb korma and especially loved the samosas. We also had the chicken tikka masala which was fine but we didn't love.
google avatar

Cary C.

Yelp
I found the food to be rather bland for our taste. Everything was prepared nicely, just not exciting. They did do an amazing job packaging the food for a to go order. And when we got the food home it was absolutely piping hot, so kudos for that!
google avatar

Celia O.

Yelp
We had such a great experience at Namaste. The food was delicious - we tried three different vegetarian options along with the garlic naan. The service was also great! The staff was very friendly and attentive. We're from out of town, but we will be back our next time in Chicago!

Tom C.

Yelp
Came highly recommended.....and reviews are good. I have one complaint....update the menu. I ordered a dish that was offered as a half chicken or a whole....so we opted for the whole chicken....24 dollars!! When it came out on a sizzling dish....nice presentation. Chicken was extremely dry....if not for the sauce on the side it would not be able to swallow it. The the best part is my wife asked....How many legs does a chicken have....we were give 4 legs and 4 thighs....no wings and no breast!! Lol We were told that they only serve legs and thighs....so why does the menu say half chicken or whole chicken? AND why am I the jerk for asking??!! ....oh yeah $2.50 for a can of diet coke? Weak at best...definitely nothing special and felt ripped off.....not the best experience. We will try another place.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
I ordered extra spicy, but I did not expect for all the spiciness to be derived from Tabasco. I ordered saag paneer and chicken makhani extra spicy, but it only tasted like vinegar and spice. I was very disappointed because overall it had a lot of potential for good flavor and I understand Northern Indian food is not as spicy, but Tabasco really clashes with the flavors. Usually I do not complain, but I spent $80 on this order for 2 of the 5 dishes to mostly taste of Tabasco
