"Indian pizza has been a thing in the Bay Area for some time, and one of the stalwarts has long been Namaste Pizza. While you can get your run-of-the-mill Western pizzas here as well as the Cal-Italian variety, you really ought to try the wonderfully spiced, incredibly delicious Indian pizzas, especially the veggie-heavy ones like the aloo gobi pizza. Their vegan options are great, as well, and if you’re more of a meat eater you’ll definitely want to try the spicy gyro or the chicken pizza masala." - Dianne de Guzman, Noah Cho

Google
This is the best pizza I've ever had! I will definitely come back here. The butter chicken pizza was so flavorful and tasty! The gyro pizza was great and lamb was tender. The garlic sauce was so good that I want to get it in bulk.

Google
The menu had so many options that sounded good and we were trying to figure out a way to do a half and half - couldn’t do it on DoorDash, but when ordering directly from their website they have a half and half option! We got the chicken pizza masala and combination pizza 🍕 if you’re Indian and know of Nirula’s pizza, this comes so close to being that good. We enjoyed both halves of the pizza with pepper flakes, and would recommend the half and half if you want to try different ones because these pizzas are pretty big

Google
Hands down one of the best Indian pizzas I've ever had. We ordered the Spicy Bread, Chicken Pizza Masala & Mango Monsoon. I felt like I couldn't eat it fast enough! Definitely worth the food coma. Ty for the good vibes and delicious noms 🙏🍕

Google
I frequent Namaste so much that all I have to do is give my number they know my order. Vic is a great guy. And make sure that you get an honest pizza. I'm all about the chilifornia. A light spiced pizza with chicken and cherry tomatos. Comes with paneer or eggplant as well. 15 minute wait is convienant. Small business's need our support. Im pleased to be a loyal customer to this place. Im never disapointed.

Google
As a chef, I can say whole heartedly, this is the best pizza in the bay. Flavors are on point, dough is soft and crispy at the same time. Five stars, would highly recommend!!!

Google
Definitively the worst pizza I’ve ever had in my life. The entire pie was BURIED in garlic and onion, it was inedible. Couldn’t make it through one slice. Offered it to a friend who also couldn’t stomach it. Was this a joke?

Google
I ordered my pizza after watching a movie at AMC. Being vegetarian, I ordered paneer korma pizza and masala bread, both very close to indian taste (I am indian born)and equivalent to indian pizza local outlet. The pizza had good amount of paneer, too. Will try other pizzas and see if others are at same level of taste. I do feel that it might be a bit pricey, by just few dollars, but again this CA and SF area, being new here from FL this might be a norm here (my good guess). Sorry will take pics of my pizza next time for sure.

Google
Very good pizza. Had a ton of toppings, which was nice as a lot of times pizza places skimp on the toppings. Flavours were very good and the pizza was cooked perfectly. But the Ranch was the best part. I love good ranch with my pizza. And this one really hit the spot! Overall a very good place.

Matty G.

Yelp
This spot has this most unique flavors and very friendly staff. I always order my pie well done because I love the extra crisp. Highly recommend and we will revisit again and again.

Shaun D.

Yelp
Ordered the Chicken Pizza Masala... Wow! It was delicious! I will be back! I kind of wish I had gotten the half-half.

Marissa W.

Yelp
Ordered the butter chicken pizza and OMG! I couldn't have expected this but it was so good.

Leona F.

Yelp
The pizza is unique and a great fusion. I ordered the tikka masala pizza and gyro pizza. In regards to pricing, I think it's a bit overpriced for the size you're getting. I ordered a medium and large and it looked more like a small and medium. I wish the tikka masala had more sauce but the gyro pizza was purrrrrfecttttttt. There is no indoor seating so takeout is the best option. This spot is more suited for a quick bite or a stop before a night out.

Shmike Z.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for Indian x Pizza fusion, and Namaste is no exception. All pies packed with flavor. Perfect place to door dash, postmates, or Uber eats because they're constantly doing deals

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
I really like Indian pizzas but these were just a bit underwhelming. We got the gyro and tikka masala and both had a decent amount of toppings, but not much sauce and just not much flavor. I don't think I've ever said that something even remotely close to Indian cuisine was " bland ", but here we are! There are other, better Indian pizza places in SF and the East Bay.

Emma Y.

Yelp
This place had great pizzas to choose from! Priced moderately. There are good vegetarian and meat options. The pizzas are decently sliced. We got two pizzas for 4 people and it was more than enough. Pizza was made fast and quickly delivered.

Noel R.

Yelp
We've eaten Namaste Pizza for 7 years now and have never once been disappointed. It's truly the best. Their vegetarian options are fantastic, their ingredients are fresh, and the service is amazing. If you're looking for awesome pizza in East Bay, this is the place!

Yelp
Recommend chicken masala pizza. It was what I wanted and more. The guy there is super cute too.

Sivan G.

Yelp
The best thin crust 14" gluten free pizza in Oakland. I get the "build your own" with the tomato sauce, pepperoni, mushroom, and garlic! They douse it in garlic and it is so good forget about it #glutenfree #glutenfreepizza

MattyC 9.

Yelp
Amazing pizza!!! The pepperoni pizza was extremely tasty, and i love the unique flavors on the menu!! Service was amazing as well, was always checking in!!!

Anne C.

Yelp
This place is consistently delicious and crave worthy. Highly recommend the chicken pizza masala + the lime cilantro dressing on the side.

Krystal Z.

Yelp
We love the variety choice of pizza options and the great price! Not just pizza, the chicken wings and tacos are great too! It's my top choice meals after the gym workout.

Courteney C.

Yelp
YOU NEED TO GET THIS PIZZA. I had been wanting to try this place for a while and finally did-- IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I got a half and half pizza which an awesome feature they do. The mango monsoon pizza was insanely delicious. I got the artichoke pizza on the other half- also incredible. The sauce is amazing. The amount of toppings and their level of cooked-ness was perfect. Best pizza I've had maybe ever. Also I got the gluten free crust and it was the best I've had yet. Cannot wait to order again

julie t.

Yelp
Delicious. We got a boring American pizza, I look forward to trying the Indian ones soon.

Kate H.

Yelp
Excellent pizza, excellent service, and one of the few places you can get gf pizza without paying a ton more. I highly recommend the tikka masala pizza.

Michael C.

Yelp
I love Namaste Pizza and it has been my regular pizza spot for as long as I've been in Oakland. I first discovered Indian Pizza when I was living in San Jose and went up to Fremont to see a coworker. He ordered from Curry Pizza House and it was amazing. So amazing, another time I went up to Fremont I decided to order a pie to go - which was a mistake because for the next few weeks my car smelled like curry. Fast forward a few years and I'm in Oakland, thinking of ordering a pizza and looking at my options. Pizza is tough in the Bay: 1) Most pizzas are stupidly expensive. Most are between $20 to $30 for limited toppings. 2) Most pizzas are bad. I don't know why, but you can rarely get a good thin crust here, either the pizza will be flavorless, or the sauce will be off. Combine the two and you are in for a disappointing experience. So when I saw Indian Pizza that was highly rated, I was in. I typically get the Chicken Pizza Masala, their best seller and flagship pizza. And it is worth it: tender chicken, so many veggies like red onions, tomatoes & fresh cilantro, and the creamy garlic sauce adds so much. When Anthony Bourdain passed away, I ordered one of these in his honor because it was a meal I knew he would appreciate. I have since introduced my girlfriend to it, and as a pesto fan, we did a split pizza half Chicken Pizza Masala, half Chicken Pesto. The Chicken Pesto is likewise delicious. You have to get the creamy garlic sauce. I end up slathering this on my pizza, it is just so good.

Taylor T.

Yelp
My friend raved about this pizza and I had no idea what to expect when it came to pizza from an Indian restaurant. We ordered takeout which was ready pretty quickly and I was soooo excited once I caught a sniff of it. This is what we ordered: - Tikka chicken masala: okay, one, how can you not love this from its name alone. It's exactly what it is, chicken tikka masala on a pizza crust. The garlic sauce is delicious and the chicken is tender. Overall very flavourful. I loveee that they put cilantro all over so you can get cilantro in every bite. - Tandoorilicious with potatoes: this pizza was probably even more flavourful. I thought maybe having potatoes on a crust would be weird but no! It was well seasoned and not dry at all. It was like having fries on pizza but not as dry as that sounds haha. It was delicious! Overall, a really unique take on pizza and I will definitely be back to try more!

Yelp
Moved to Emeryville this yr. While searching pizza joints, found this little gem. Highly recommended.

Pedro G.

Yelp
Had some delicious Indian pizzas at a recent wedding and was hoping for a similar culinary experience here, but was disappointed. The pizzas weren't bad, but they weren't especially good either. Pretty standard but with some Indian flavors and unique ingredients on standard pizza dough with that basic commercial pizza cheese made to melt at lower temperatures.

Christopher W.

Yelp
Excellent! I ordered a medium chicken masala pizza from Namaste Pizza yesterday and it was delicious. My partner is South Asian and we've loved trying Indian fusion pizza. We usually order from an Indian fusion pizzeria in Emeryville but I came across Namaste Pizza on Yelp yesterday and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint and the owner, Vic, was really nice. I will definitely order their food again.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Highly recommend Namaste Pizza to anyone in the area! The chicken pizza masala is addictive! I've tried another attempt at Indian pizza in Berkeley and this place beats it without question. Perfect takeout option and totally different than any other pizza. Really friendly staff.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Namaste Pizza is a small little pizza restaurant on the border of Berkeley and Oakland. I am not the biggest pizza person, but I thought their concept was unique. I felt that their pizzas were a bit more cheesy compared to other spots that I had been to, which was great! The Masala Wings were pretty good, it was well marinated. I tried their Chicken Pizza Masala, Chillifornia, Greek Sheek, and Tandoorilicious. For their Chicken Pizza Masala, I enjoyed the chicken, as it was very juicy. Their Chillifornia was good, I like how cheesy it was and it had a nice spice to it, but I do not really like eggplant particularly. For their Greek Sheek, I enjoyed that it had pesto on it and although I usually do not like black olives, the taste of it was very subtle. Their Tandoorilicious had a cream sauce as a base, which I enjoy and prefer over red sauce. Overall, it was a unique experience, but I think I am too picky. I am not sure if they have DIY pizzas, but I am sure they would accommodate your preferences/request if you asked because the employees are friendly!

Kabita C.

Yelp
I ordered from doordash. The fusion of Indian flavors and pizza created a delightful twist on a beloved classic. If you're looking for a culinary adventure that combines the best of both worlds, I must say this placeis worth a visit. It's a place where you can indulge in innovative and mouthwatering pizzas that are sure to leave a lasting impression.

Renee F.

Yelp
I love the pizza here. The ingredients are fresh and service is quick. I decided to call in my order instead of using third parties so that they'd get all the profit. I tried the Tandoorilicious - spicy and it was delicious. I cant wait to try some more items off of the menu. I wish they had personal sizes, their smallest is alot of food but that's no big deal- I enjoyed it as leftovers reheated in the air fryer. The inside seemed super clean and parking in the evening was super easy.

Jay R.

Yelp
Excellent pizza and service. The location isn't ideal but they have fast delivery if you're in their area.

Austin W.

Yelp
I've wanted to try Namaste Pizza for a while since I really like the idea of fusion pizza and I'm glad I finally had a chance to this evening. Ordering through their website, I was immediately notified that my order would be ready in 15 minutes. Awesome! My wife and I ordered the chicken tikka masala pizza and a side of the minty bread. Though we were tempted to order a few sauces on the side - since they all sounded really tasty, we ultimately decided against it, just so we could appreciate the flavors of the pizza and bread on their own. Of the two, I definitely liked the minty bread more: the flavor was a lot more pronounced than the chicken tikka masala pizza, and the bread packed a good amount of heat. The chicken tikka masala flavor only really came through when I bit into a piece of chicken. Had it not been for the chicken, I might've thought I was having a barbecue chicken pizza. Price wise, $25 for the large pizza gets you a lot of food; I definitely had a lot of leftovers after our dinner this evening. I am eager to come back to try more pizza flavors.

Dominick R.

Yelp
I've heard nothing but good things about this establishment and they were right. I ordered the butter chicken pizza ( lrg size which is the same price of a round table medium pizza score for the consumer). Its a cute mom and pop nice friendly staff, i'll definitely be back for other yummy things that were on the fun fusion menu

Tamika H.

Yelp
Soooo good. I ordered the chicken garlic personal size and do you hear the crunch!!! The toppings had good flavor and it was hot and tasted fresh. This is my go to pizza spot.

Goku U.

Yelp
Indian flavored pizza...yum! Previous to finding Namaste, I had only know Atlas in San Bruno. The prices for Indian pizza at Namaste are comparable to the price of pizza at other pizza joints in the bay area. I had ordered a Togo order for Saturday pickup around 11:30am. My order included the aloo gobi and the minty cheesey bread (free with check-in!). I arrived slightly before the 15 min quoted time and the pizza needed a bit longer in the oven. The pizza crust was very good, it's fluffy and thicker than a thin crust pizza. The flavors of the aloo gobi topping was fantastic and had a nice little spice kick. The minty cheesey bread was also good. Similar to other reviewers, definitely recommend eating this first while it's hot! Next time, I'd probably request a little bit less cheese. The tomato dipping sauce was also very flavorful. Overall, I'd recommend this place. The pizza tasted good and was very fresh. I can't wait to try the other pizzas. Service was friendly and quick. There are a couple of extra coupons in their take-out menu if you're looking to save a couple of extra bucks.

Eddy K.

Yelp
Delicious fusion of indian cuisine on top of pizza dough. The crust is relatively thin, though not quite thin-crust, which was a good balance to focus more on the indian flavors. Chicken Pizza Masala (4.5 out of 5): Really good mix of tikka masala spices on the chicken brings out a bold flavor. Got it medium spiciness level, which was not actually that spicy. Tandoorilicious (4.5 out of 5): Another solid indian flavor of tandoori grill flavor with deep bold grill flavoring and a good mix of indian spices. Mango Monsoon (3.75 out of 5): We got this one for our vegan friend, topped with vegan cheese. The vegan cheese, which as a category is usually quite bad, was actually decently good here which is quite a dificult feat to pull off. As a vegan pizza, it was actually quite great, but compared to the other non-vegan dishes I mentioned above, I think the others were more flavorful.

Joanne T.

Yelp
Pretty dang good! I was surprised to find Indian Pizza in Oakland. I only knew of a place in Fremont, but now I got a place in my backyard! TIP: if you check in you get a free minty or cheese bread. I read a review that the minty bread was more enjoyable than the pizza, I have to say... I agree! The minty bread was bomb, especially with the marinara sauce they provided. Spicy though so watch out if you can't take the heat. I got a medium chicken pizza masala and a medium spicy kebab. The chicken tasted almost just like a regular pizza. I think I was expecting more masala flavor. The kebab was good, lots of cumin. Would go again for the minty bread!

Francesca S.

Yelp
When it comes to fusion food, I'm always a bit skeptical. However, Namaste Pizza has restored a bit of my faith in fusion cuisine. Their chicken pizza masala was absolutely addicting to eat. It had a beautiful light and airy dough, topped with flavorful spiced chicken and a creamy garlic sauce base. Put together, the strong flavor from the chicken was complimented perfectly with the creaminess of the garlic sauce. It's a beautiful pizza. Definitely give it a try!

Anthony M.

Yelp
This is a hard pizza to review, because it's like nothing else I've had. First, it doesn't look like the menu pictures, which are more pizza-like. I ordered a Neapolitan pizza and added Italian sausage, mushroom and green pepper. The amount of toppings was great. I know there was a sauce under there, but it's subtle. The crust is unusual, not a true pizza crust and while it has little flavor, it was good....I can't explain it. Other than needing a bit more salt, this pizza was delicious.

Parag B.

Yelp
I was looking for a new pizza place that I haven't been to... Then I found this place, Namaste, on Yelp! I got the chicken pizza. The food was delicious. I was happy that I got a chance to use the free mint bread coupon that is on Yelp. My GF love the pizza too. We willre glad to eat pizza that was unique and tasty.

Clover L.

Yelp
Love their pizza, been a favorite of mine since I moved nearby a few years ago. I'd recommend the butter chicken Indian pizza.

Michael J.

Yelp
I picked up a chicken pizza and they gave me the wrong pizza, it had different meat on it from what I usually order, didn't notify me to tell me if they were out. Seemed like there was only one other person working in the back as well, doesn't seem like they have good business practice

Tien N.

Yelp
I've had at least 1-3 pizzas a month over the past 37 years so I've probably eaten enough pizza to fill the circumference of the earth (provided we're high enough longitudally) The chicken tikka pizza here absolutely ranks up there as far as uniqueness and flavorfulness goes, and your taste buds don't know if it's in Florence of New Delhi. If you've never had an Indian inspired pizza--it's essentially what you think it'd be, and it's glorious.

Eric W.

Yelp
Really tasty and good Indian pizza. We got the chicken tikka masala. It had a lot of flavor but was missing any tikka masala sauce. The only other time I've had Indian pizza was in India and it always had masala sauce instead of a tomato sauce. No sauce was a bit unexpected but still had enough flavor that it was great. The garlic bread was amazing. Don't forget to add it. You won't be sorry.

J S.

Yelp
Downgrading to a 1. Place sucks. Not seasoned well. Chicken tikka Masala pizza has no sauce Not salty enough Best one in the area is at a bar in Berkeley. This was flavorless, bland , and bready.

Arika N.

Yelp
My fiance and I love Indian food and always talk about the curry buzz. Well now we can get our curry buzz in the form of pizza. I am sad I could not order directly from the restaurant but unfortunately I live outside of the delivery area. DD to the rescue. Sadly for me I can not get the butter chicken on DD. Next time I am in the Emeryville area I will have to head there to get the butter chicken pizza. Since I could not get the butter chicken, I ordered a create your own pizza with mild, that was spicier than I expect mild to be, but not too spicy, slow-cooked curry sauce, tandoori chicken and red onions. Before my fiance was home from work I ate two slices and I felt that wonderful curry buzz that makes us so happy. As for the rest of the pizza the chicken was well seasoned and juicy. The red onions add a nice little crunch and bite of brightness. Oh and the cheese was just the right amount. The crust was good, perfect texture but a bit lacking in that extra bit of flavor. However it wasn't enough of a detractor to make me think I don't want more or I don't want to try more and different pizzas, or the Minty Namaste Bread. Oh and I want to try the desserts especially since Gulab Jamun is a favorite of mine. Next time when I don't have leftover birthday cake to satisfy my sweet tooth. Oh and Yelp why can't we do half stars because honestly I want my star rating to read 4.5 stars. Edited: January 23rd... So today I went back to DD and ordered the Butter Chicken Pizza. Because of that pizza I changed my review to five stars, well that, and the Gulab Jamun. I am looking forward to trying more now, or just getting the butter chicken pizza again and again.

David S.

Yelp
Tonight 5 stars, up from 4 last time. Totally delicious, both the artichoke and the tikka Marsala! On time, super yummy!

Jairo B.

Yelp
The pizza is amazing!!! The crust is just so perfect. Pricey but it sure makes up for it. The wings were really good as well!

Nora C.

Yelp
Wow! I liked the tandoorlicipus pizza but it did not compare at all with how delicious Zantes is. I had one bite of the butter chicken pizza that's all.

Lynda P.

Yelp
Duuuude, how have I not tried Namaste before? We ordered two large pizzas and they let us split the pizza into 4 flavors because, how do you decide!? We tried chicken tikka, chicken korma, okie dokie artichoke and the eggplant chilifornia. Wow, I really loved the artichoke and eggplant pizza more than the meat ones! Be careful, the chilifornia is pretty spicy but sooo good. And delicious crust! Not too far by, thin chewy yet crispy.

Chris W.

Yelp
I don't eat cheese. I wrote in the instructions (no cheese) that supposedly didn't make it from the notes from Uber Eats to them. It arrived with cheese in both items. Called the restaurant and they were not helpful and HUNG THE PHONE UP ON ME when I mentioned their poor customer service (I own a pizzeria) HUNG THE PHONE UP ON ME! This place has the most terrible customer service for overpriced conveyor belt pizza made on screens. If you want some Indian lady hanging up the phone on you when you're unhappy with an entire order arriving wrong go to this place you'll have fun losing over $50 for a 12" pizza and some bread with cheese all over it. I'll be spreading the word about the terrible customer service and I know a lot of people in the industry. So sad that I'm supporting a local restaurant at this time of crisis and get hung up on. Blows my mind

Andrew P.

Yelp
My family decided to hit the easy button and order some delivery after finishing our holiday quarantine. We had never tried Namaste Pizza before, but after seeing their delicious-looking Indian pizza options, and that they had a gluten-free option for a member of our household who is sensitive to gluten, we were sold. We ordered a GF Chicken Pizza Masala for the grown-ups, and a standard crust cheese pizza for the kiddos. The delivery came almost unbelievably quickly, before even the early time window estimate. Very impressive. We were starving and ready to dig in. We unboxed the cheese pizza; so far so good. But when we unboxed what was supposed to be the Chicken Pizza Masala, we were greeted with the unpleasant (to us) odor of bell peppers. Hmm, we hadn't ordered bell peppers we thought? We were so hungry we just picked off the peppers and took a bite ... and had our heads blown off by how spicy it was! I mean, we literally couldn't eat it. Something had obviously gone sideways with the order because it really didn't resemble what we thought we were getting. When we called the restaurant to see what could be done, the staff was very polite despite being obviously super busy. They looked at our order and saw that the receipt said we had ordered the Korma pizza! So whether it was user error or a glitch in the system, something had gone wrong. We were processing our disappointment and hangry-ness and trying to figure out next steps when the phone line went dead. Had we been hung up on??? Nope! Namaste called us back and said that regardless of how the error occurred that they would make it right at no further cost to us. Less than a half hour later another knock at the door announced the arrival of our Chicken Pizza Masala! Not only was our order DELICIOUS once the mixup was sorted out, but the customer service we experienced was above and beyond anything we've seen during the madness of pandemic delivery operations. I will definitely be ordering from Namaste Pizza again soon, and can wholeheartedly recommend them to all Yelpers for super tasty pizza and fantastically friendly customer care.

Ellen S.

Yelp
I tried the vegan gluten free versions of the aloo gobi and mango monsoon pizzas and I'm honestly so excited to try some of the other ones. The food is fresh, delicious, and an awesome flavor profile. It'd be sad to be in the area and miss out on this one. They also deliver!

Peridot X.

Yelp
First Timer Verdict: Delicious, fresh, gluten free* and not tiny. (Sometimes even with allergies you just want the same size food as everyone else.) () Specialty pizzas were by far the winners. Chilifornia with paneer + chicken pizza masala. Specs: Ordered 3x GF 12" pizzas through Doordash. Food was ready quickly. Added special instructions re: "WHEAT ALLERGY: Please cook on pan" for each item. Always check the bottom of the pizza to make sure - no unwanted wheat flour to report. Looking forward to this being a regular thing, Namaste. ;) Personal Rating System: 4 Stars: Expectations met with flying colors, but haven't frequented enough to comment on consistency. Definitely looking to add this to my repertoire. Quality, reliability (got what I asked for without errors or difficulty), service, flavor.
