Google
Ive never had better authentic vegetarian Indian food, even after visiting several states. This is THE best place for amazing food and authentic grocery items. Everyone here is very kind and always willing to explain different food items. Please give this local place a try you won't be disappointed.

Willie Abreu

Google
The staff was outstanding, offering exceptional service with a friendly and helpful attitude. The food was all vegan, bursting with flavor, though it does lean on the spicier side, so be prepared! They were kind enough to let me sample a few dishes before ordering, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in the area. Some gluten free options too.

Google
Absolutely love Namaste Spiceland- especially for their pav bhaji and chole bhature! Very delicious and filling. I’ve started coming here once a week to enjoy the food in the outside eating area. Grocery store has good variety. Staff is great -efficient and friendly!

Google
To be able to have some Indian vegetarian food like Idli, Dosa and Chole Bhature is great. Many other items can be ordered and will come in 5 minutes. All kinds of Indian groceries and vegetables, Fruits are available here. They also have very good service. Kapil is amazing and knows everyone by name!

Google
This is first and foremost, an Indian spice shop. They do serve food, cafeteria style. Huge selection of spices and vegetables. Even though the menu for eating is limited, it's all very good.

River Moore

Google
The food is some of the best I've ever had, and will never forget my experience here, would give a much higher review if I could. 10/10 would recommend l.

Yelp
Yummy! Almost all vegan options for the buffet. It is lot self serve. The ambience is very nice, the outside has trees and is very cute. It's also a grocery store! We loved it!

Yelp
Really cool spot inside an Indian grocery store, serving up vegetarian Indian dishes. There's a good variety of options, and for the lunch combos, you get to choose from different breads--both fried and baked--to go with your curries/vegetables. They also include rice, pickles, and other sides like samosas if you go for a larger combo. Friendly people and great food.

Yelp
My family and I continue to come here regularly for food and groceries. My parents and I dropped by last night for dinner and groceries. As we came after 7 pm on a Saturday night, the place was packed. However, we managed to grab a table inside. My mom and I shared a dosa, and my dad got a paratha. We all enjoyed our dinner. The menu is completely vegetarian, and they also offer vegan items. In addition to indoor seating, there is also outdoor seating available. They also do catering for events. Customer service is always friendly. They offer a nice variety of groceries including mithai and kulfi. The vegetable section isn't very vast though. There is always plenty of parking.

Kumar M.

Yelp
The food is well spiced and the team is friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the decorations that are outside.

Yelp
This was my first time at Namaste, and I was really impressed by the large menu, selection in the grocery store section, and the friendly staff. I had my heart set on trying dosa, since I had heard that they were delicious. The size of the dosa was massive, and it came with 2 spicy sauces and a side of lentil soup. The dosa is filled with a spicy potato mixture. Very flavorful with a crispy yet soft texture. It's like a huge rolled crepe. I ended up taking half of it home since it is very filling. At $9, it was also a great value! I also ordered a paneer curry to take home- very delicious. What's cool is that they offer samples from their hot bar. The menu also has a section of South Indian dishes. I'm not knowledgeable about the nuances of Indian cuisine, but I am excited to come back and try more things!

Yelp
When they were at their previous location East on Thousand Oaks Boulevard near skyline, I ate there regularly and shopped their store. Ever since they moved to their location near the 23 freeway the quality of the food they serve has decreased and many of the items I purchased from their store are no longer available. Recently I ordered a combo special with a masala dosa. A Dosa is thin crispy and tortilla like wrapped around flavored potato. What I got was a large pancake nothing like I used to get from them or what you would actually receive in southern india. The Currys were all right but not equal in quality or taste to other Indian restaurants. The flavored rice was extremely disappointing. I won't return for food but I occasionally make shop their store.

Yelp
Since I was in the area and had time to kill before an appointment, I stopped by hoping to find some food. And yes, apart from being an Indian grocery store they have an indoor restaurant too. There is vegetarian North and South Indian freshly made hot food and snacks. So I chose one medhu vada and one lentil patty. Both are deep fried and were superb with the in house coconut chutney. You can also order food combos and specific dishes, that are served either from the hot food case or made to order. The selections looked fresh and appetizing. Apart from the indoor seating there is patio seating too. Service is cordial, friendly and excellent. I will come here again, before my next appointment.

Yelp
We had catering through Namaste Spiceland for an event in our home with 50 guests and I would highly recommend!! We really loved all the food and drinks. Our parents also approved! The chai actually had an authentic flavor and not bland like every other restaurant. Mango lassi was well balanced and a hit. They make any dish even if it's not on the menu. We had Dabeli for brunch and everyone loved it (non-Indians and even the picky Gujaratis). Palak paneer was perfect with lots of paneer. Chole masala was delicious. Jeera rice was so flavorful. The best part was definitely the live Pani Puri station. All our guests were raving about the pani puri afterwards and the tasty waters (spicy and sweet). Better than the food was their service! Jitesh was very helpful in coming up with the menu and reassuring us that he would be able to work with whatever space we had. From start to end, they were SO kind. The delivery/set-up was perfectly on time and so seamless. They also did not hurry to leave after the meal ended and ensured everyone had eaten before packing up. I spoke with all the other Indian restaurants in Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village for catering and found them to be rude and not flexible. I would highly recommend Namaste spiceland for their delicious food and service.

Yelp
It's starting to get a little expensive, but always really good and filling They're getting better with stocking the grocery side too
google avatar

Daniela A.

Yelp
The food service is fast and friendly. The setting is great! They have indoor and outdoor seating and you can browse the store while you are waiting for your food! The Mysore Dosa & Vada Pav we're amazing! We'll definitely be back for more!
google avatar

Yelp
Food is good here! All vegetarian. Love it. But groceries are highly marked, very pricey! and they don't have any reward points or discount if any sort. Most of the time, vegetables are not that fresh, but manageable. No complains!

K T.

Yelp
Great casual marketplace with items that are hard to find elsewhere!! Order Buffet line style from amazing veg/ vegan/ meat options. Highly recommend! Outdoor patio is charming

Yelp
Just updating a star because it has become quite the standby and I also appreciate the market section.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for years but never got around to it until today I was in the neighborhood. The service was prompt and friendly. It's a little cafeteria set up inside a small grocery store. The food was really good. I got a paneer dish and a chickpea one. I got the plain bread which personally I'm not a huge fan of. It was whole wheat. Next time I will upgrade to naan. I'll def be back.
google avatar

Janelle J.

Yelp
This "Ready to serve food" restaurant is located inside of market with plenty of indoor and outdoor sitting. I got the two veggies plate combo with garlic naan. I loved their naan. It was extremely delicious. When you walk into the store they will take your order and have you pay after you finish eating if you choose to eat their. At the end of my meal I got one of their ice creams and my total was very reasonable considering everything I ate. I can't really say much on service but everyone was nice.

Yelp
Food is fantastic, very authentic and delicious. Service is kind and friendly. The ambiance is okay but the food is phenomenal.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place!! I love that they have a fresh, hot dish counter so you can order from what's hot and ready that day. I'm a regular of their samosas but I've also had the mango lassi, tikka masala, and tried a bunch of other curries and masala's that I don't even know their names. The customer service is quick and friendly. The store portion is fun to wander and great for buying ingredients if you want to try your hand at cooking Indian dishes yourself at home. Although I haven't tried it yet I often see people order things that aren't on the published menu (as far as I can tell) like today when I saw someone getting pav bjarti. I can't wait to try that some time! The prices are really reasonable and great for picking up some take-out for dinner without having to call ahead! I love it!!!

Yelp
I have never been in here what a nice friendly place. I needed some candle containers and incense and a mala for a funeral and I found it all. The people were so nice Thank you Om Sat Nam
google avatar

Hui Koon K.

Yelp
Tried their party trays of spinach pakora and samosa. Ordered by phone when they opened for pickup at 1pm (my order was for small trays). The trays were ready when I picked up and they helped to carry to my vehicle. The food was well packed and they provided a good amount of sauce to go with it. Everyone at my work party was happy to try the food. Will definitely use them again as it was easy, and good value.

Yelp
Delicious Southern Indian food and a local gem! I have been searching for a place for good and authentic dosa and I was so glad to have them in Namaste Spiceland! Located on Thousand Oaks Boulevard near Armstrong Garden, this eatery is both a grocery store and a restaurant. Parking is ample on street and in the parking lot outside the eatery. This eatery offers a good selection of dosa and the serving size is very generous. I had the spring dosa, which was like a wrapped Indian pancake with tomatoes and green peppers inside. The dosa also came with a side of lentil soup, but I found it slightly too salty. The serving size was so generous that you could have split the dosa into two meals. The eatery is also a grocery store and it carries a large selection of ethnic Indian food. Coming from an Asian culture, I love the availability of such a rich selection of varieties of rice. I also found a good selection of British snacks, which is hard to find in most US supermarkets. Overall, this is a must-try eatery. This has become my go-to place for good authentic dosa!

Yelp
Namaste is great with their buffet offerings and offer you samples of their delicious food. Some of their dishes are very spicy so it's nice to get a small taste. Additionally, they have an adjacent grocery shop with fresh produce, dry food, and many spices in small and large amounts.
google avatar

Rob W.

Yelp
I really liked this spot and would highly recommend. Friendly staff and food was solid especially for the price. I had a couple of the veggie dishes (I think that they're all veggie) and both were great, but I don't remember exactly which ones they were. One was the Korma, which was tasty. The naan was good as was the rice and the portions were just right. I went to a similar spot in Culver and this one was way better, cheaper and bigger portions. Outdoor seating in a nice little closed area and plenty of parking.
google avatar

Yasmin A.

Yelp
came here once for fresh veggie shopping and couldn't find everything I needed to make Sambar....so I wish there were more selection of fresh vegetables. Their prepared food section is nice and affordable. They have a wide variety of options to chose from. Everything is vegetarian.
google avatar

Wendy P.

Yelp
Visiting from San Diego and saw that there was food inside this shop. Got a two item plate to go, along with samosas, a sweet lassi, and some jalebi. Took it back to the hotel and devoured the food. So, so good.
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
Come on now... it doesn't get better than this. Pick your food and grab a seat inside the grocery store or outside on nice days. All vegetarian but they always have several vegan options. Soooo good. I always stop here when I'm in town for work.

Shannon M.

Yelp
Came for pani puri and am so so satisfied! It was so yummy and spicy (for once). Ordered first then paid afterwards.

Yelp
I have been coming to Namaste Spice-land located in Thousand Oaks for a couple of years now. They cater to Indian food, groceries, spices, fresh & frozen vegetables, seasonal fruits, Indian desserts, eggless cakes & festival items too. Food served here is pure vegetarian & vegan, tastes super delicious, fresh and hot with perfect spice level. Chaats are so tasty, Parathas are delicious, Mango Lassi is thick & yum! They have both indoor and outdoor patio seating. Customer service is good with helpful staff. Parking lot is available on the side & behind the store. Would definitely recommend this place!
google avatar

Adam F.

Yelp
Easy parking. Good vibes. A lot of stuff is Vegan and some things are gluten free. All things are Vegetarian. The sauces are a bit on the spicy side but, not very. I ordered 2 combos of yellow curry and a potato thing as well as palak paneer and a garbanzo bean thing. I got vegetable and white rice with both. I got th sweet carrot pudding with cashews, pistachios, and almonds. I also ordered a slice of eggless mango cake. They were all tasty and good as left overs too. The guy who helped me was very calm and nice. He also found some mango chutney for me, in the store section. I recommend this spot. The menu changes weekly, so things are probably different a lot. But I will try it again.

Yelp
If I could give 10 stars I would! This is one of our favorite local vegetarian places to eat it. The service is friendly, they always put in my husband's go to favorite order in when we arrive! The food is hot, flavorful and the options for the combos are always plentiful! I always try something new when I go and I have never been disappointed. This past year they made one meal here for us super memorable when I mentioned our son chose this place for his birthday dinner, they brought out a small plate of yummy desserts to share. What a treat! If you want fresh authentic Indian food, this is the place!
google avatar

Christine Y.

Yelp
Lots of groceries and Indian food supplies. Nice deli service hot food. Decent prices. But it's just not my style of Indian food. It was very bland and not many spice under flavors. It felt very safe for a more bland American or child's palette. I was disappointed . I'll just stick to buying spices and herbs there.
google avatar

Pra S.

Yelp
Excellent vegetarian food with decent place to sit in the patio. Food quality is good and quite reasonable. Additionally you can buy Indian sweets and other groceries.
google avatar

Pam C.

Yelp
Mostly a review for the food takeout section. Great selection of vegetarian curries out in the glass display as well as dosas, breads and samosas for order on the menu. Prices are really affordable. Can get tubs of single curries for takeout as well as platters of mixed items as a set meal. There's a large desert selection as well in a separate display case. Eating space is pretty ample with a nicely decorated patio. Staff is very friendly and food comes out very quickly. The convenience / grocery store section has a lot of staples for cooking as well as a large frozen area. Store is very clean and feels spacious. Would recommend if you're looking for some quick and tasty food at good price and quantity
google avatar

Lis V.

Yelp
The service was outstanding! A friend recommended I'd go here and it turned out that I already knew the owner from a previous location. He and his whole staff was so courteous and they even handed me a basket to do more grocery shopping. I enjoyed the outside patio dining area since you can order food to eat there. I also liked the selection of their drinks such as basil drinks and Rose flavored drinks. It's a very clean and organized market and it is so easy to get to as well. I plan to dine there the next time I visit.
google avatar

Jammie B.

Yelp
The Masala Dosa is the best! Eating at Namaste Spiceland is never a gamble on whether the food is going to be good quality and flavorful because it's always great.
google avatar

Michelle F.

Yelp
Just went here for the first time. Has no idea what to order. He has me try a bite of everything! It was all delicious! I chose the rice w peas, a lentil dish and mixed vegetables. It was so good! I'm definitely coming back to try some other dishes! Super friendly and helpful! A ton of food for $10. Wow!
google avatar

Neelu Y.

Yelp
I don't know how I haven't written a review for Namaste Spiceland yet! For over a year, this has been one of my go-to's for a quick lunch. The food here is always delicious and I love that they change it up every day. The employees are very friendly and the service is quick. For around $10 you can't go wrong with their small (EK) combo plate! It's a very generous portion and always lasts me two meals. I also recommend trying their samosas with the tamarind chutney as they are absolutely delicious.

Shelbot B.

Yelp
I came during their opening hours, but the doors were locked. When the guy came to unlock the store a little late, it seemed like they were annoyed that someone was there waiting. I was excited to shop here because of all the good reviews so I went in and got what I needed and went to the checkout. I think three people walked past me at the register and just looked at me, and didnt ask if I needed to be checked out, didn't get someone to help etc. definitely not a good experience.
google avatar

Celeste D.

Yelp
Best Indian food in Ventura county! They offer a variety of vegetarian/vegan dishes throughout the week, all taste fantastic. If you're a meat eater, don't let their plant based options deter you from going! You're able to sample the food if you're unsure or curious about an unfamiliar dish. This is a market, not a restaurant, but you can still dine in. Service is great and the people are so kind. Positive experience all around!

Yelp
Food is great Service is outstanding Ambiance is lovely. About pation is one of the best outdoor sitting areas

Yelp
First time back since Covid and the food and service are just as wonderful as ever! Called ahead to ask about the cooked food choices for the day and the gentleman who took my call was so helpful. He patiently answered all of my questions, describing the dishes in detail. Additionally, he asked if I wanted groceries also. We chose two of the three vegan specials, which also included lentil rice. Food was neatly packaged in individual containers. Since it had been a while, a dosa was also ordered to satisfy our craving, Everything was delish with the spice levels just as described. We will be back soon...it was as though we were once again reacquainted with an old friend.

Mrugesh R.

Yelp
Friendly staff, great place to round up your grocery while enjoying delicious food.. they work very hard to keep ambiance active as per each Indian festival.. must visit if you are around

Madhumitha R.

Yelp
Yummy food! Great quick groceries!! A neighborhood favorite spot, a true gem. Quick service also!
google avatar

Debbie G.

Yelp
My favorite go to spot!! Always fresh and clean. I can pick up some groceries and get lunch!
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
The second time I went, the staff seemed rushed and gave me a sit-down meal despite asking for to-go. Still great food thus 5/5.

Lo B.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Loads of products from spices (of course), to all kinds of lentils and beans and rice, to soaps, incense and small ceramics. Nice produce as well. We were excited to see they had bitter melon and durian! We got lunch at the counter and it was so delicious. 2 item combo with large portions for a very reasonable price, almost all the options were vegan, and the whole wheat bread was warm and perfect for scooping all the tasty food. House made pickles on the side included bitter melon and lime peel. So so good. The outdoor patio is covered and decorated nicely and it's a really pleasant place to enjoy a healthy, vibrant, delicious vegan lunch. The employees we met were friendly, kind and prompt. Don't wait to try this gem on TO Blvd!!

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite restaurant in California. They cook up a dozen or more different curries, classic rice and then a colorful rice that is different every day. The lack of predictablity is a delight. They do have classics on repeat too so you cannot go wrong if you come in knowing what you want. For folks who like Indian sweets this is a destination Love their mango lassi but for me no matter how my day is going their chai always always makes it better. They have a grocery store which has a huge array of hard-to-find Indian projects so that adds to the charm. Their outdoor seating makes this a dreamy destination for great conversations, engaging children or even a first date. Happiness on a plate.

M O.

Yelp
Steam table is fantastic. The selection was top notch. I went in for specific grocery items and came out with delicious dinner
google avatar

Waran V.

Yelp
Good indian market and food place in north La. Taste is authentic and the market has most things you would need to cook Indian food.

Brian K.

Yelp
The food was very good. Luckily we had a friend with us who is from southern India, because I didn't recognize anything on the menu. We ordered from the menu instead of picking from the trays at the counter. I had masala dosa. I think the food is all vegetarian. We will go back but I will likely look up some items on the menu so I know what I'm ordering. It's pretty casual. We sat outside on a picnic table.
