"The former La Boulangerie’s spacious patio is now home to a restaurant serving Nepalese, Indian, and Himalayan food. That means bhel puri, momos, naan, and vindaloo are all available at once, a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The patio truly is one of the best on College." - Clara Hogan, Eater Staff

Great food and friendly service, came on a Tuesday evening, it was not busy and plenty of tables, some outdoor seating also. Street parking was easy enough to find a spot. The staff were super friendly and guided us with our order, making sure we did not over order on things like appetizers and nans. The food arrived quickly and tasted amazing, defiantly none to come back to, highly recommend if in the area.

Google
The food has really good flavor and the service is super fast and kind! Only critique is that their spicy option left more to be desired. They did bring a hot sauce mix when I requested it afterwards. If you aren’t a diehard spice person, I’d say this is the best food you can possibly get.

Google
I want to like Namastey Patio, but the experience just doesn’t justify much more than 2.5/5 and I won’t be coming back. The staff was nice and sat us with less than an hour before closing, but they started to close up with more than 15 minutes to spare - chairs up, coats and bags on, ready to leave. It was nice to be served with smiling faces, but we were rushed out. What was more disappointing was the food. We’ve ordered out in the past, had our order messed up, but the food was still delicious. This time, the food was lacking significant quantity and the protein was nearly non-existent. An order of palak paneer came with 6 cubes of paneer, not nearly enough for an entree. The same could be said of the lamb and chicken tikka masala, which also had far more sauce and curry than protein. The highlight was the cauliflower special. It also irked me that the bathrooms had no hand soap - we had to put with whatever suds we could get from the watered down soap. We won’t be coming back.

Omg. Namastey is my new go-to favorite. It's so good. Had a delicious lunch special for multiple choices -- it was big. There are plenty of vegetarian options. The chicken tikka masala was also delicious, and I liked their take on samosa chat. The garlic naan is wonderful. My whole body feels good after eating here.

Google
Menu is full of delicious Indian choices. We ordered samosas (crispy, fresh), dahi chat (great shells, yum), palak paneer (full of soft paneer), dal makhani (lovely taste), jackfruit curry (skip this one), and chicken biryani (excellent). The goat cheese naan was ok, the plain naan is good. The food was served quickly, and tasted like it was all freshly cooked. Service was attentive and friendly.

We came for the momos and were not disappointed. The other dishes we tried were great too

Google
Excellent quality food. Great patio for warm days. We did take out during the pandemic but now that it is summertime it’s nice to sit outside. This spot has had large turnover, hopefully this restaurant will last! They have a lot of choices on the menu and wine and beer as well. I asked for extra spicy and it was a good level spice. Could be spicier but usually restaurants usually are hesitant in the USA.

Google
Mt boyfriend and I ordered online and the food was pretty bland. The mango Lassi tasted funky too. Now our stomachs feel funky as well haha....Not to sound rude, but I am surprised that this place has such a high rating 😅

Yelp
Namastey is a great place for Indian Food. All the staples such as Tika Masala, Lamb Korma, Aloo Gobi and naan! A must try!

Gerald H.

Yelp
Excellent bread service and the sauces were great! Beer selection great! The patio area is better than the indoor but more shade during the hot summer months would help.

Yelp
Remember when this used to be Pasta Pomodoro years and years ago. They have a beautiful sunny patio, but I opted to sit indoors. It was a very lovely and peaceful lunch, and everything was absolutely delicious. Came on a Tuesday afternoon since I was craving Nepalese food. My hunger admittedly got the better of me, and I ordered: 1. Jhol momo chicken stuffing 2. Chicken curry with garlic naan 3. Gulab jamun Yes, I ate EVERYTHING in one sitting, even though the portions ended up being bigger than I expected. The momos were flavorful and juicy, an absolute dumpling delight! Chicken curry was fantastic, and you can't go wrong with naan. For dessert, the gulab jamun was a sweet, syrupy indulgence. The staff was super nice, and they were really sweet with great customer service. A great gem in Rockridge!

Yelp
Incredibly ravenous, my family had a hankering for Indian food this past weekend. Knowing that Berkeley doesn't have many good Indian restaurants but still looking to satisfy our Indian-cuisine-seeking palates, we opted for the close second, Nepalese food, instead. After seeing Namastey's glowing reviews, we came here. Though we arrived at a good time (as there were no other customers in the dining area), it took a while to get our orders taken - perhaps the kitchen had a backlog of delivery orders? Whatever the case may be, when our waiter arrived at our tables, we immediately ordered. For a family of 4, we thought we ordered more than enough, but he urged us to order a side of rice. After our numerous declines, he relented and processed our orders. When the food arrived, everything was just decent (with the exception of the butter chicken which was very good). The tandoori chicken was extremely pale (instead of that crimson red) and lacked the spiced, smoky flavor that we were used to. Similarly, the aloo gobi was lackluster and simply tasted like steamed veg. The goat biryani, the dish we were most excited for, didn't have the piquant, cardamom-y profile that we desperately craved and every goat morsel was dry. Perhaps our mediocre experience resulted from the pretense that the familiar Indian dishes would be similar to their Nepalese counterparts or maybe this restaurant simply served bland food that day; whatever the case may be, we probably won't be back. Berkeley has an abundance of Nepalese establishments, so I'll probably check those out before I return here.

Yelp
Grabbed dinner with my friend here on a weeknight. Service was speedy and nice. We got butter chicken, palak paneer and lots of tasty garlic naan. Everything came out hot and flavorful! Lots of garlic naan (we got 2 orders, which was probably too much for us two). I'd definitely come back when in the mood for delicious, flavorful food!

Dana L.

Yelp
I love the ambiance. Good chill music and it's warm and inviting. Smells great too! Food tasted so good and I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Stopped by here for dinner last Thursday with my girlfriend - both of us were craving Indian Food and Momo's and this seemed to check both those boxes. The restaurant itself is very nice - plenty of outdoor seating and a nice interior as well. Food wise we split the Samosa Chaat, Chili Paneer, Jhol Momo, and Malai Kofta (with some Naan Of Course) The chili paneer was a highlight - I'm not a huge Paneer person in general but this stuff was * d i f f e r e n t *. Perfect texture/ bite and a nice taste that I wasn't normally used to. The Samosa chaat was also super good - standard Indian appetizer in rare form. For the the Entrées- the Malai Kofta was quite tasty. We had asked for it to be spicy but it definitely didn't seem to scratch that itch. Aside from that , I'd highly recommend it. The Jhol momo was slightly underwhelming- the Jhol (sauce) was delicious , but the filling for the veggie momos was slightly bitter. With all that being said - I had a great time here and would definitely be up for trying other things on the menu here some time soon. 4/5

Yelp
This was our first time trying to have a date night at this location. We have had lunch here in the past which was a nice experience. It has never been crowded but usually a lot of to-go orders. The service has never been very good, this time was an exception and was absolutely terrible. The young lady that served us was very unengaging and not very responsive to our good mood or questions about the food. There were no other patrons in the entire restaurant for most of the time and only about 20 mins in did a party sit out at the patio. We ordered two entrées and naan. The food took over 30 mins to come out and the only explanation we could think of is that they must have prioritized takeout orders over us. When the food finally came it was small portions and the Aloo palak my wife ordered was not good to be polite. It was bland and cold. We have both had Indian/Nepalese many times and this fell short in so many ways. The naan was warm and pretty good. The Navaratan Korma I ordered was fine but I asked for spicy and it was not. All said and done, we will not go back again. It is a shame, the location is nice and the lunch special is actually pretty good. The service has never been great and they charge quite a bit. Not recommended for dinner or if you like good Indian food.

Yelp
I looked forward to having a lovely lunch at this restaurant. Finally it happened when my friend and I met up here for a belated holiday lunch. We were excited as we have not seen each other in over a year and I thought that Namastey Patio would be a lovely venue to catch up. Lucky for us, the food was tasty. The presentation was lovely. The venue was also decorated nicely. Unluckily for us, the service was unfriendly and rude. The host who welcomed us was friendly but the servers were unhappy and need training in customer service. We got asked 3 times "are you done eating." It was only 2 pm and the restaurant only had a few customers. We were in the middle of our lunch. We did not know that the restaurant closes at 3 pm. The staff started having lunch and one of the servers faced me and stared contemptuously. LOL! I was wondering why. Now I get it, they were about to close but no one informed us. My friend and I assumed that they were open all day. If we had been reminded nicely, we would have apologized and left right away. We had saag paneer, rice and a pretty looking salad. This would not be considered the best Indian food in my book but I would have happily returned over and over again as I pass by Namastey Patio everyday. Sadly, because of the mean service I will not.

Yelp
I ordered the vegetarian lunch special for $19. I thought it was pricey for having to choose between several vegetables--just getting one, along with the other portions that come in a Thali type spread. The rice was completely flavorless, as was the papadam. The only items of the whole special that had any flavor was the Panak Paneer (my choice of vegetable) and the dal lentils. The salad was Americanized, and the yoghurt nothing special. Pretty bland food. I won't be back.

Yelp
If there is one thing I would strongly recommend at Namastey Patio, it is the biryani. This is the the best biryani I've had in the Bay Area, the best I've had since I was last in Hyderabad. Beware: it is spicy! As it should be. They've also got an expansive heated outdoor patio and a good supply of beers on tap, including one I regard as the world's best: Boont Amber. I'm not a huge fan of the momos here, and I don't recommend the jackfruit curry either - but it's 5 stars based solely on the strength of the biryani, and for that reason alone you should come here.

Yelp
F O O D + Chicken jhol momo (traditional Nepali Hog plum-based sauce) Vegetarian orders: + Namastey cauli special (IPA battered cauliflower tossed in sweet and sour chili sauce) + Navarathan korma (9 different mixed vegetables cooked in a sauce with cashew nuts) + Malai kofta (fried vegetable balls in tomato-based curry sauce) + Garlic naan: crispy with lots of tumeric yay! + Plain (basmati) rice + Achar (pickles): need to request, not listed on the menu + Chai: mild level of masala, they also offer honey packets for sweeteners S E R V I C E + Attentive + Friendly + Quick with seating us immediately and our food A M B I A N C E + Indoor and outdoor seating options + Clean + Not too crowded both times that I've been here + Ample street parking around the area + Easy to find restaurant with patio seating at the intersection T L ; D R (1) Navarathan korma and jhol momo are unique and a must! (2) Lots of great vegetarian options

Sherry G.

Yelp
I came here with two others recently, and we sat outside for dinner. Since it was cold, we ordered hot water and they turned on a heat lamp for us. The three of us shared a Lamb Korma, a Namastey Mixed Vegetable Curry, an Onion Naan (Khulcha), and a Garlic Naan. The Lamb Korma was delicious, and both naans were crisp at the bottom without being burnt. The Namastey Mixed Vegetable Curry was more like curried vegetables and didn't have as much liquid as the korma. Additionally, I felt that the flavor of the vegetable curry was a little boring (though it's hard for me to be jazzed about vegetables anyway). I would rate the food a 4, and the fact that they have such minimal dining waste (see Eco Notes below) pushes up my rating to a 5. ECO NOTES (Dine-In) Dine-In Dishware: Reusable dishes and baskets (baskets were lined with parchment paper) Napkins: Reusable cloth napkins Utensils: Metal fork, spoon, and knife Water cups: Glass cups

Yelp
We come here often and especially love the more traditional dishes like their curries that are not Westernized and made too sweet. Their food tastes fresh and delicious, their service warm and friendly. A treasure in Rockridge.

Dianna H.

Yelp
My friends and I picked this place because we wanted momos and were looking for a place with an outdoor patio. Figured we can't go wrong with a place with the word "patio" in the name! We came for dinner on a Moday evening around 6:30 pm and it wasn't crowded at all. We shared the following: Chilli momos ($15) - really good and not too spicy, despite the name. I didn't eat the accompanying veggies (most onions and bell peppers) but my friends who did really enjoyed them Malai kofta ($15) - asked for medium spicy but the curry was more sweet than anything else Spinach yellow daal ($13) - I love yellow daal in any form and thought the one here was good Lamb rogan josh ($17) - the curry was a bit too salty but the lamb was tender We also split some basmati rice, roti, and garlic naan to eat with the curries. Overall I thought the food was pretty average, but they let us sit around and chat for a while after we finished eating, so service was good!

Karen L.

Yelp
The food here was good but then again, I never really had bag Indian food. They also had Nepalese, which is nice. The service was very good and I will definitely come back.

Holly N B.

Yelp
I came here because it was a good location & because we wanted patio seating. Service: fine. We ordered a dish from the Indian side and a dish from the Nepalese side, and when the food came, they told us they were the same -- one had dairy & the other didn't -- but the base curries were identical. That might have been good to know when we ordered (different person took the order). Food: I mean. It was fine. I've had worse Indian food & I've had better. But I certainly have had far superior Nepalese cuisine than our dish. That was disappointing. The rice was good and the naan was fluffy. Will I return? Only if I need a Rockridge restaurant with a patio.

Amanda H.

Yelp
Fantastic, fresh food on a spacious patio. We celebrated a graduation with a group and the host worked with me to plan an order in advance. Only thing that needs improvement is table servers-- they seem inexperienced and needed prompting around some basics. Overall, a delicious feast. We'll be back!

Min C.

Yelp
Absolutely a fantastic takeout experience. Perhaps it was because I arrived a bit too early for dinner time - or at least I want to believe that they are more populated other times - I was the only customer and spent leisurely time, thoroughly deciding my dinner for the day. All the positives: this Nepalese restaurant is a bit over half a year old (as of Sep 2021) so kudos to them for launching a business during a pandemic. Second, if I had time, patio seating would have been the way to go - there is PLENTY of space (remember La Boulangerie, this is the same location). Third, the staff were very kind to answer patiently all my culturally ignorant questions and even suggest recommendations as I was new to Johl (simmer sauce for momos) and Khasi (goat curry) - I got in medium heat, which had a kick. They explained to me that the Johl was something in between a sauce and soup and it's best to eat it drizzled over the momos rather than dipped like one would for a sauce. Also, the goat meat in the Khasi is melt-in-your-mouth soft, just beware that it is bone-in. Honestly the only "disappointment" (really, to my bad judgment) is that fact I made the wrong decision by not getting a lassi - I ate the second half with a mango lassi I later bought elsewhere and all the flavors balanced out so perfectly. P.S. A bit of advice for those who are a bit sensitive to the numbing spice like me - maybe ask the staff about the possibility of not adding numbing pepper. Not sure if it's already cooked that way, so it may not even be an option, but definitely something I might broach for my next visit.

Nancy P.

Yelp
Delish! Glad we tried out this place today for lunch. They offered both indoor and outdoor seating. Because we had the dog with us, we chose to sit outside on the spacious patio next to the warm fire pit. Hubby had the tandoori chicken which was moist, tender, juicy and flavorful. It came out sizzling hot with side vegetables, red and green bell peppers, spinach, and onions. Chicken came with both white and dark meat, sizable quantity and both cooked to perfection. My Avocado Bgel Puri salad with the curry spiced puffed rice and avocado was seasoned just right and was a nice accompaniment to the chicken. Bonus, they had cute doggy hook for our leash and my purse. Will be back!

Ray U.

Yelp
We've been here twice and both experiences have been delicious. The ambience inside isn't much to speak of, but the outdoor patio is great. If you go for lunch and get a table with an umbrella, it's perfect alfresco dining. (Inside is obviously warmer on cold days!) Dishes come out piping hot and savory, and we've never had anything bad off the menu. The garlic naan is buttery and delicious, and pairs wonderfully with the meat and veggie dishes. Try the chicken tandoori, grilled veggies, samosas, and aloo gobi. The flavors are unique. First and best experience with Nepalese food!!

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Such a lovely spot for afternoon/evening. The patio seating was spacious and clean with windowed walls so you can enjoy your meal outdoors with a sense of separation from sidewalk. The women who work here have excellent customer service and were friendly! I'd love to come back here again. The food was super filling, we had leftovers to enjoy for later.

Rohit K.

Yelp
Nice place for some Nepali food for lunch. The avocado BHEL was good but the tandoori offerings take the cake. Highly recommend the salmon and chicken!

Sachin S.

Yelp
Nice ambience and location. Great service Tea- 7/10 ( not warm we complained and they comped it) Pakor-9/10 Dahi puri: 8/10 Jackfruit curry:7/10 (savory) Chicken kadhai:8:10 (generous portion) Naan:9/10 Chicken momo: 6/10 ( very generous portion, momo is good, but being nepali we always expect more :) )

Tiff A.

Yelp
Pretty solid place! Lamb shank - 4.5/5 juicy and tender meat in a delicious savory sauce/curry. Not at all spicy. One of the pricier dishes on the menu but you get a good amount of meat! Goat biryani - 3.5/5 pretty good but lacking in oomph. Felt a touch dry and not quite as flavorful as some. Garlic naan also decent. I do wish it had more garlic but I realize I am an extreme garlic lover!

Mari H.

Yelp
Hands down, my favorite Saag I may have ever had. They even have my personal favorite to make, Chicken Saag. I rolled the dice on this place just because it had this dish. This was a Caviar delivery, and they got it out super fast. The flavors were incredible. Maybe three chicken thighs is a creamy spinach sauce. I put it over some cauliflower rice and it was still the best! I will be back! Maybe to the restaurant. Thank you! I'm so excited to find a good Indian cuisine restaurant again. All the others I'd previously been to had lost their shine, delivering under seasoned foods. That's just no fun!

Topher C.

Yelp
In my previous review, I suggested that we were looking forward to coming back once we were able to dine in or enjoy the patio. We were going to try the latter last week and have dinner out with our dog, but it was far too cold that evening. Luckily, inside dining has resumed, with restrictions of course, and we were able to snag a comfy table in the back after dropping the dog off at home. We're soooo glad to have come back. All three owners were there, and they couldn't seem happier and more welcoming. It really is so heartwarming to be greeted with such genuine joy. So, as you'll recall (or can read below), the only reason I "demoted" my review to four stars was because of the plastic to-go containers. I'm now upping my review to SIX stars! Oh wait, five is the limit? Hmmm... well, you may see only five, but there are six in my heart. Service was prompt, friendly, and helpful, and the presentation was phenomenal! Everything looked amazing, and the taste was just as stellar. As we were digging in to both the Avocado Bhel Puri Salad and the Bhaktapure Mixed Vegetable Curry, we just continued to shake our heads with amazement! Such flavors so perfectly balanced . . . We ate as much as we could, but still had a little left over. I was reluctant to ask to take the rest with us, but it turns out that they even upgraded their to-go containers and now have paper-based containers! Joy joy joy! Thank you so much for hearing my former feedback, and taking it to heart. Thank you so much, Sim, Tej, and Kailash! You continue to knock it out of the park with your food and hospitality, and your presentation is art. We are hooked, and we are looking forward to working through your menu!

Monica B.

Yelp
Friendly service, tasty food with a kick, and lovely, spacious outdoor patio! We tried the choila chicken, jhol chicken momo dumplings, aloo (potato) naan, and gobi (cauliflower) naan. We also got a mango lassi and a beer! The choila chicken was actually a cold dish served with many spices and green onions on top of some greens, maybe spinach and others. It was a little spicy haha so heads up! My partner really enjoyed this one and I thought it was pretty good as well. Then I had the momos! The sauce with the jhol momos is so yummy. We specifically ordered more naan so we could soak up all the sauce. The naans were super fluffy and tasty. The service was friendly. They also have a few beers/wines to drink up and enjoy! We went on a sunny Sunday and got quite warm on the patio. I also noticed heating lamps - good for chillier times!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
I love the food and the giant outdoor patio at Namastey! I met up with a couple friends so we got to try a variety off the menu. I really enjoyed the chicken chili momos and the okra. I would say the portions are a good size for 2 people. The servers were very friendly and I will be frequenting this lovely place often.

Victor G.

Yelp
Namastey Patio offers mostly Indian options with just a few Nepalese ones. looked at the entirety of the online menu. counting all the monos leaves me with only an handful of Nepalese choices. eats: chana masala (12) -medium spicy flavored garbanzo beans with some indian spices. wasn't just chili, there were other Indian spices that makes this masala special. -didn't wolf the sauce quickly. found "seeds" in the sauce that may be shells of spices used. outside dining in the hot sun didn't look inviting.

Erica P.

Yelp
This has become my go-to spot on College Ave. Who can beat the ambiance of their patio on a warm summer evening? Food is 5 stars and consistently amazing. We crave their veggie momos all the time. Service is 5 stars and the staff including the owner is a very sweet and sincere.

Desiree D.

Yelp
Great food and I appreciated the ambiance. However, caution to those ordering, spicy is subjective. What is spicy to me may be very spicy to my partner, or not spicy at all to the owner. We ordered butter chicken with 0 spice and it had a significant kick to it, which I didn't mind. However, my partner doesn't eat spicy foods and had to muscle through it. The samosas were amazing and the winner of all that we ordered was the goat in the reduction sauce. Truly, was delicious. I'd def. eat here again, but wouldn't bring my spice sensitive partner.

Melissa V.

Yelp
BEST INDIAN FOOD HANDS DOWN. Nothing I've had can even compare to the quality and taste at Namastey. I'm no stranger to Indian food either, so I am beyond excited to find such an amazing place. Two of us shared the chicken tikka masala and palak paneer. We also got a side of rice and garlic naan. All of it was DELICIOUS!! The entrees were full of spices and jam packed with flavor. The tikka masala was by far the best I've had and the palak paneer was really really tasty. And don't forget the naan - YUM!! Again, it was the best naan I've ever had. The servings are large, so we left stuffed with leftovers to take home. Don't forget to try the mango lassi! It's sweet and creamy with a good touch of spice. Tasted very authentic, unlike ones I usually get at restaurants. To top the already incredible food, the service is top notch. Our waiters were very attentive and eager to answer any questions we had. They checked how we were doing regularly, providing a really enjoyable dining experience. The menu is big so there's lot more I want to try soon. This is my new go to restaurant when I'm craving Nepalese and Indian food!

Jen T.

Yelp
Everything was so fresh and delicious! The naan with jackfruit curry was a spicy delight--love the crispness of the naan and the flavor of the curry, which I ordered a bit too spicy (my own fault) but it burned so good! Husband enjoyed his tandoori chicken, which was flavorful and juicy. Loved the veggie pakoras, which were crisp and weren't too oily, and came with a tasty sweet dipping chutney. And service was great. An employee saw that we were cold, so when the neighboring table left, he rolled the heater over without asking. Lots of seating. If everything else is packed in Rockridge, come here!

Kai L.

Yelp
Delicious food and rich flavors. We really enjoy coming to eat at Namastey and their curries are flavorful and fragrant. We like ordering the regular momos with chutney, the fried ones lose the juiciness of the meat inside. Our favorites are the Nepalese Goat Curry, Palak Paneer, and and Chicken Tikka Masala. It's a small kitchen so sometimes it gets backed up when it's busy, but the food is worth the wait! Staff are friendly and we always have this as a top choice when coming to Rockridge.

Irene C.

Yelp
We took advantage of a sunny afternoon and dined outside on the patio. It felt very Covid-safe, as our table had a glass partition/wall right next to it, thus nicely blocked off from pedestrians walking by. The menu offered a lot of options, and I decided to try something that was different than the usual chicken tikka masala. I'm still fairly new to Indian/Nepalese food. We tried the avocado bhel puri salad, chicken chili, garlic naan and pork jhol momos. These were all good-sized dishes, that we had leftovers to take home. Everything was delicious! For sure I will be coming back and bringing family/friends so we can share a variety of dishes!

Damali R.

Yelp
I stopped in today because another restaurant in the neighborhood was closed because of the holiday. I wanted to love this place because I am a fan of Nepalese and Indian cuisine. I ordered several items in hopes of taking leftovers home for later. Unfortunately the naan, palak paneer, and rice all came to the table room temperature, borderline cold. The samosas were the only warm items. Add to that, no one ever checked in to ask how things were (and the restaurant was not crowded). I was disappointed, to say the least.

Chris C.

Yelp
I told the waiter "Medium Spice" but the dishes I got were extremely spicy hot. Not even close to medium spice, and I've been to a lot of Indian restaurants. When I told the waiter that it was really hot he just shrugged it off. So hot that a day later my tongue was still numb. The food is okay, nothing to write home about, it is just decent. I didn't really feel welcome by the owner or workers here. Kinda awkward that he would just stare and stand in front of the place. And the prices are really high. I don't mind if it was great but there are so many good Indian restaurants near Berkeley. I much rather go there for tastier food and a much more comfortable and friendlier ambiance.

Yelp
The food was insanely good, and I want to try even more! We got the tikka masala, garlic naan, chaat, and chili spicy momos. Wow, it was incredible. The service was so friendly and attentive. And the indoor space was so beautiful and the patio looked welcoming and lovely too.

Yelp
Three of us decided to stop by for a quick bite. We ordered some chai and several appetizers (including a healthy version of Indian street food called "bhel"). The samosa and the appetizers were tasty, fresh, and not very spicy. None of us were big fans of their chai - thought it could have been hotter (though we all agreed most people wouldn't have that problem, we love our chai extra hot), and stronger in flavor. There's lots of outdoor seating with heating, the service was timely & professional, parking was easy to find closeby. Would love to drop by again to try some vegetarian entrees.

Yelp
This is to me the best Indian/Nepalese place in the Bay Area... delicious! And I found it by chance. Strongly recommend the Dal Makani, the Aloo Palak, Palak Paneer, Aloo Gobhi, Chicken Korma and etc... most dishes are really, really good. The Service and folks that work there are really nice and helpful and the overall design of the place is really nice. The Patio is awesome and if you can have your dog if well behaved!! I am very happy with this place and I strongly recommend it.

Yelp
Great place for lunch! Really nice large outdoor patio area where you can dine under umbrellas and watch the passers by. It was interesting to me that more people didn't want to be outside on this sunny day. Our lunch consisted of the lamb Vindaloo, chicken curry, basmati, and naan. All very good and fresh. I definitely recommend coming here for a meal.

Yelp
Made a reservation for inside seating on OpenTable that was accepted by the restaurant. When we got to the restaurant, the server looked around the room and informed us there was no indoor seating. Did not have an answer for why they made a reservation if they didn't have space. We figured we would sit outside but it was cold and we requested two heaters. Server informed us we could only have one heater. It was too cold for us to sit outside without adequate heat, so we left.

Yelp
7/8/22 This was a #doordash order and man, it was sooooooo good after a whole rash of flops... Firstly, I'll note, everything came HOT. Like almost as if someone just cooked it in our kitchen. Impressive. 1. Chicken Biryani $21.75: The chicken appears to be cooked into the rice, so I'd say it was relatively "juicy" for this kind of cooking method. Only way to make it truly juicy is to cook it separately for the right temp and time. So, that's nice... cause I HATE dry chicken. The rice itself was very flavorful and SPICY HOT. Get this... last night my 2.5yr old kid asked me, "I want sp..cey..." I was like huh? "Sp....cey...." Um okay you show me. So we went to the fridge and he pointed to the rice. THAT?--but it's hot! Well, I figured he'd just take a bite and spit it out.... nope, he ate most of what I gave him (and washed it down with a ton of milk.) I tasted his leftovers and yeah man, honestly this is too hot for most people in America. That's my kid. My only gripe: I think the rice can be fluffier. Btw, they're really generous with the chicken helpings (but so they should be at $22). 9/10 2. Yellow Lentil Soup $9.75: Beware--this is NOT like the typical India stew-soups. This is really a soupy soup with lentils floating around, along with a variety of other vegetables.. It's okay, but not what we were expecting. I did think it was flavorful for what I assume to be vegetarian. 6/10 3. Everyday Goat Curry (Khasi) $24.75: This is one of The Best goat curries I've ever had at a restaurant, if not THE best. Unlike most places, the goat pieces here are REALLY meaty. Usually the goats are skinny and have no meat, and it's like 80% bones. Not this one. Like the chicken dish, there's many pieces, and they are great chunks of meat! And juicy, tender meat too! Cooked as well as any Indian place has cooked any kind of braised meat. Of course, the curry was super tasty too. 10/10 3a. Naan: Very standard naan. It was the size of a medium pizza though, so I'm glad the portions are big. Soft, chewy, good. 6/10 Thank thank thank you Namastey for not sucking! 5/5 #napalesefood #indianfood #napalesecuisine #indiancuisine #goatcurry #chickenbiryani

Yelp
Unfortunately, the service here is not as good as the food. I'm disappointed. As a long-term customer, I expected better service.

Yelp
Delicious food! We ordered the cheese naan, plain naan, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, and rice. It was so good we cleaned the plate off! Coming back for sure!

Yelp
Order takeout today. Decided to try bass fish this time, and was I quite disappointed. There was barely enough fish to fill 1/3 of a plate all for 25$, what a rip-off..and yet the 3 other veggies plates i ordered had smaller containers and more portions. The palak paneer...salty and quite sour like it might be old spinach. Again, also disappointed. Though the palak I ate a month ago from here was certainly better and was just okay tasting. Probably the only decent dish was the okra (bhindi bhaji) which maybe a little salty but enjoyable. The cauli special...well that was just okay, tasted like Chinese food to me.

Yelp
The elevated patio with heat lamps caught our eyes when we were seeking night dining on a cool-ish weekend. The signature momo dumplings are a must, and the lamb shank did not disappoint -- fall off the bone, and perfectly sauced. The choice of different curry sauces for the dumplings is a nice choice, so you can pretty much pick your heat level. Biriyani portion was huge, and the goat-cheese Naan was yum. Bring your appetite! Excellent service as well, btw.
