"Restaurateur and Swedish MasterChef winner Jennie Walldén is behind this fun, energetic restaurant that blends Nordic ingredients with Jennie's South Korean heritage. Offering great value for money, the cooking is colourful, zingy and generous in both size and flavour; the signature flank steak served with an array of accompaniments is a highlight. Dishes are designed for sharing, with tasting menus available if you're feeling indecisive. Head next door to their Gaji cocktail bar to keep the party going." - Michelin Inspector

Namu is definitely an exciting place to visit. The South Korean fusion cuisine in the middle of Malmö makes the place even more exciting. The food here is both affordable and you still get enough food. Your taste buds will definitely be challenged here, but in a good way. I can absolutely recommend washing it all down with plenty of the good beer on site. Namu is definitely worth a visit.

I was a bit skeptical at first as i knew that the place was on the fancier side and pricy, which it definitely was. But the flavors were delicious we tried the 8 course set menu and it was so so good. Although I would expect to be full after 8 courses but this was not the case. It’s a shame that I didn’t feel that full, the portions are pretty small and this is coming from a not so big woman 😅 I would still recommend it but don’t go when starving.

The food was underwhelming but the service was the biggest issue as it felt very inhospitable to me, the servers didn't feel very welcoming. I went here for dinner, hoping for a special experience, to celebrate my birthday but I left very disappointed ☹️ This restaurant is in the Michelin guide, so it's supposed to be held to a higher standard, it specifically has the Bib Gurmand award which recognizes restaurants that serve high-quality food at great value. The value is quite high and the value isn't really worth it. I find it unfathomable that a restaurant like this qualified for such a prestige.

Good food and nice experience! They can adapt most of the dishes for vegetarian and gluten free. The staff was very friendly and helpful!

Good Food good Ambience. The vegetarian options felt a bit underwhelming and overpriced, it’s disappointing to get just slices of beetroot instead of a proper meat substitute.

We took the tasting menu Expeditionen with its pairing drinks. Each of the courses were delicious and the drinks tasty and perfectly assorted to the food. One of us has an egg allergy and the kitchen managed to replace most of the egg elements with egg free alternatives to keep the expedition complete. About the allergy, I recommend that you communicate at least a week in advice to the restaurant the allergy and the meal/menu you will order so that the kitchen can prepare at best in advance. It was overall a great culinary experience!

We like the atmosphere. The food was below our expectations of a Michelin restaurant; lacked flavour and kimchi was too sour. There was sand in the lettuce that came with the ssam dish.

Google
It's all about expectations, I had them too high and hence the 3 stars. The service and atmosphere were spot on. The quality of produce high, but nothing was particularly memorable that would make me want to go back. Korean chicken wings were my favourite bit but again have had better.

Yelp
Decided to just order from the menu rather than pick the set menu. Being from the bay area we usually eat Korean food and is one of my favorites. After ordering a bunch of items this is what our impressions were of these specific dishes: Oli gogi sauce is really good. Perfect fitting with the meat. The meat was not too special but the sauce made the difference. Song eo: not expecting fish in this dish from the description but not fishy in taste at all. Actually very delicious and the fish eggs and sauce with vegetables are the perfect pairing. Mandu: just ok. Something I've had before. More on salty side with sauce Gao bao: delicious and nice mixture. Reminds me of when you eat crispy duck at a Chinese restaurant except this is with pork belly. I like the addition of swedish pickle inside as well Yangnyeom tongdak:. I've had Korean fried chicken many times and I would say this is not something I would come back for. It was over gratuitously slathered over with the gochujang sauce which was really salty and spicy. I feel it would have been better on the side. Nice to be given the hand wipes to clean up. Beef Gangnam style: similar to what we usually get but the difference we noticed is the meat here is grilled then placed with sauce on top where we usually have the meat marinated in the sauce and then cooked. Pieces were deliciously cooked medium. Banchan: disappointed but truthfully because when we get them at home there are more varieties such as sweet potatoes or fish cakes. Was hoping to see some of those here. Ambience:. We came here in National Sweden day and it was raining intermittently that night but we still decided to sit outdoors under the awning and was able to enjoy being outdoors and the fresh feeling of rain with a heat lamp. The waitress was nice and attentive and the experience was definitely nice. Overall I give this place a 4 stars just because the yangnyeom tangdok was just way too salty and wished we were given the choice to use the sauce ourselves. My favorite dishes was the oli gogi and song eo and I can see if these were the only dishes I ate this place hands down would have been a 5 star.

Yelp
There are certain benefits for having low expectations when going to a new place. You're saved from disappointment early on, and that you could be pleasantly surprised when the food turned out to be good. Mina K and I didn't have much expectation to begin with. We know the owner of this restaurant is a Swedish Master Chef winner, so she must know how to cook, but she's Swedish (despite her Asian roots) and that the restaurant declared itself as fusion Korean food and I'm not too trusting at the word "fusion" these days when it comes to food. We booked a table and got our seating at the Busan dining room (floor seating). Do book for western-style chair and table dining room if you're not used to sitting down on the floor for eating, you don't want to leave the restaurant with your legs feeling dead. We ordered Korean style beef tartar and gaobao (gua bao?) for appetizers and Rygbiff Gangnam style (that comes with banchan and rice - pretty good deal since the banchan set itself costs 125 kr without rice) that is for two people. I'm not an expert in Korean food, but Mina K is and she was pleasantly surprised on how the food tasted pretty authentic despite the fusion labelling. All I know was that the beef tartar tasted good and the gaobao? Much better than the baos I had in Copenhagen. The buns were small but the filling (marinated pork belly) was to die for! We didn't have to wait long until our main course arrived - the Gangnam style beef, with the banchan. The meat was cooked perfectly with pink colour on the inside and was very tasty. You eat it by wrapping it in lettuce and put the banchan ingredients on it, don't forget to top it with gochujang hot sauce and stuff the whole package in your mouth. We were definitely surprised on how great the food was. The service was pleasant as well. The waitress was attentive and friendly and chatted with us for awhile about the steel chopsticks used that could be quite a challenge for people who are not accustomed to using these kind of chopsticks. A downside is that this place could get little pricey here on the side of Øresund, but it's in Swedish kroner (ha!) and that the restaurant itself has nice decor so you could take your date, your friends or your colleagues here even for work dinner. I'm definitely going to come back and try out other stuff in the menu although a lot of them are with poultry (chicken, duck) that I don't eat, but do ask for vegetarian / vegan option, they offer tofu fillings for some of their items and this being a Swedish restaurant, they usually cater to the vegetarians.

Yelp
The best bet for a sit-down Korean (fusion) dinner in the Copenhagen and Malmö area. Unfortunately there isn't much in the way of Korean restaurants around here and the ones that I've been to are mostly disappointing. I don't hold them to the same standard as Korean establishments in Southern California but they still fall short in price, service, and taste. Namu is the first one here that has presented dishes that echo actual Korean flavours, albeit with a Swedish twist. If you're a fan of sour stuff, you should definitely get the yuzu cocktail! It was refreshing and a bit slushy. The beef tartare (145 sek) was probably the most authentic-tasting dish featuring pear, pinenuts, and gochujang. It tastes like yukhoe should, and although it is a simple dish they could have easily messed it up. This is a tiny dish so you will want to order at least one more or a bowl of rice. Next up was the bao (129 sek), which seemed small but it was only the bread that was on the slim side; there was a lot of filling and it was well-seasoned. There were two in the order so it was easy to share. Finally the showstopper arrived; The Gangnam Style! It is easy to see why there were so many of these flying out of the kitchen. The meat is cooked perfectly with a little pink in the middle, and it came with rice, lettuce, and a little of each of the 6 banchan. This is the dish that you have to get when you are here, and although it is a little expensive (295 sek) it comes with all that. You wrap the meat in the lettuce and add a gochujang-based sauce and, if you want, rice. I'm happy to report that the kimchi was good! There was also a little dish of what I think was chili mayo and I don't know what the hell that was doing there. Not all the banchan were traditional but they did have typical namul flavours. Thankfully the rice was short grain and NOT jasmine or basmati. See, people? I don't ask for much when it comes to Korean food! :P Eva K. and I ended up sitting at a table on the floor which can be tricky for many people, but we are used to it. I liked that we had to take off our shoes and that there is also "Western style" seating at high tables. And they have traditional flat metal chopsticks! These are notoriously hard to use so there is a knife and fork as well as the spoon that normally goes with it. I was impressed with the small details like that. The service was great; our server Mia thoroughly explained the concept to us and kept coming to see if everything was ok. The only reason that I didn't give the last star is because the price was quite high for what you get. But it is definitely worth visiting if you are craving Korean food. We shared three dishes and left feeling satisfied. Note: As of the date of this review, there are three vegetarian options and all the banchan seems to be as well.

Yelp
Arrived at 5:30 pm for a drink and appetizers. The hostess was incredibly rude informing us that "we are fully booked" there was not a single soul at tue place. We asked what time their first reservation was and she said 7:00!! Nasty rude. Walked away!! Wow

Yelp
This place is amazing! Had the tasting menu with a group of friends. Everyone was so delighted. The flavors are so delicious and the type you crave when you leave. The tasting menu also comes with wine/drink pairing-so delicious! Highly recommend and can't wait to come back.
