Nan Hotpot - Review - Chinatown - London - The Infatuation

"Nan Hotpot looks like a Cyberdog from the outside, but inside it’s an homage to traditional Chinese Ming dynasty design with yoke back wood benches and vintage signs. It’s packed—students chasing the early bird dinner discount, theatre-goers fuelling up before curtain call, and rowdy groups settling in for the long haul. Tucked just off Leicester Square, this Chongqing spot stays open until the early hours Monday to Saturday, serving food and full-on energy until 3am. Let Nan take the wheel and drive for you—their set menu includes unlimited visits to the sauce station, a platter of sliced beef short ribs, king prawns, sweet potato noodles, and enoki mushrooms in a luxurious half-and-half mushroom and tomato broth. Don’t leave without trying the brown sugar glutinous rice cake and the adorable strawberry panda shaved ice, too." - Angela Hui

Nan Hotpot delivers a fantastic and authentic hotpot experience right in the heart of London. From the moment you step in, the lively atmosphere and efficient QR-code ordering set the stage for a modern, no-fuss dining experience. The star of the show is definitely the broth—rich, flavorful, and simmered to perfection. Whether you go for the comforting mushroom or the punchy spicy beef tallow, you’re in for a treat. I especially loved how the noodles soaked up all the delicious flavors—springy, chewy, and deeply satisfying. There’s a great variety of ingredients to choose from, and the sauce station lets you customize every bite. I also appreciated the little details, like their signature rice cakes and fun desserts like panda-shaped shaved ice—cute and tasty! The vibe is upbeat, and it’s clear Nan Hotpot caters well to groups, late-night diners, and anyone looking for a flavorful, interactive meal. It’s a great spot whether you’re a hotpot veteran or trying it for the first time. Highly recommended for anyone craving comfort food with bold flavors, especially on a cold night or after a long day out in the city. I’ll definitely be returning for another round!

I enjoyed the experience so much! They have full Halal menu! Tried mushroom and the medium spicy broth, the spicy one was really good! I also ordered noodles, beef slices, were delicious with the spicy broth! Also you have to try the dipping sauce ( chili oil, sesame seeds, sesame oil, chili flakes, green onions, coriander and garlic) to dip the beef in! If you want a delicious Chinese food I highly recommend it! Thanks to the nice staff for the great service 👍🏻

After watching a show at Covent Garden today, I suddenly caught a whiff of an amazing hotpot aroma! Following the scent, I stumbled upon the hugely popular **Nan Hotpot** from back home in China! This place is a viral sensation in China, with wait times of at least two hours—I couldn’t believe I found it in London! We arrived around 5 PM and luckily didn’t have to wait, but by 6:30 PM when we left, the place was packed and there was already a queue. Pro tip: come early! Three of us spent around £90, including a 12.5% service charge. With the **student discount (20% off, available before 6 PM)**, it came down to just £25 per person! 💰 While it’s slightly more expensive than in China, the authentic Sichuan-style hotpot experience in London is totally worth it. Perfect for when you’re craving a spontaneous hotpot fix! 🍲 The flavors were incredibly authentic! The spicy beef tallow broth was rich and aromatic, and the sesame oil dipping sauce was spot-on. The biggest surprises were their **glutinous rice balls in brown sugar shaved ice (bing tang yuan)** and **fried rice with egg**! The bing tang yuan wasn’t just plain ice water with rice balls—it had small glutinous rice balls paired with brown sugar shaved ice, which was absolutely delicious! The fried rice was also perfectly seasoned and made for an amazing pairing with the hotpot. 😋 The beef tripe was super crispy, and the portions were generous! Overall, Nan Hotpot is a must-visit in London’s Chinatown. If you’re missing authentic Chinese hotpot, this is the place to go! 💃 📍Address: 1 Leicester PI, London WC2H 7BP 💰Price: Around £25 per person (with student discount before 6 PM) 🌟Recommendations: Beef tallow broth, bing tang yuan, fried rice with egg, beef tripe #LondonFoodie #NanHotpot #SichuanHotpot #LondonChinatown #CoventGarden

Panda Bingsu 🐼 and Strawberry Bingsu 🍓 How cute are these? 🧾ORDERED Drinks Pistachio Cream and Coconut Milk £4.80 Herbal Tea £3.80 Desserts Strawberry Bingsu £8.80 Panda Bingsu £6.80 Main Halal double flavour soup base half mushroom broth, half medium spicy brooth. Toppings £70 Chilli flakes tender beef, spinach, stem lettuce, shredded potatoes, enoki mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, instant noodles, coriander, plain rice. Dipping Sauce £3.20 Bit on the pricey side as toppings added to 70£ which is very expensive for a hotpot unless you eat in a group of 4 or more. That is definitely too much food for two and we could not eat it all.

Very good hot pot. Very authentic and just like in China. Very good halal options, a whole separate menu in fact. The base soup was amazing. Meat was fresh. Sesame sauce was amazing. Waiters are really friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Average price per head was £30.

It’s a local favourite for those craving bold, traditional flavours. Their signature beef tallow spicy broth has just the right amount of heat and a good aroma. If you want something lighter, the mushroom broth is fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. The restaurant’s standout feature is bringing the true essence of Chongqing hotpot to London, with great attention to both flavor and ingredients. You’ll really feel like you’ve been transported straight to Chongqing! The setting mixes traditional vibes with a modern touch, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy. Recommended dishes: ① Fresh duck blood (a must-have in Chongqing hotpot) ② Freshly sliced beef (super tender) ③ Braised beef tendon (chewy and flavourful) ④ Spicy beef slices (packed with flavour) Just a heads-up: it’s not the cheapest option to use especially I love hotpot, and the dipping sauce is charged separately at £3.2 per person. Expect to spend around £50 per head. If you’re craving authentic Sichuan hotpot in London, this place is definitely worth a visit! Spicy hotpot lovers—this is your spot to cure homesickness.

This is from Saudi Eats in London, with 80k+ followers across social platforms. Instagram & Tiktok: saudieats.ksa You must visit this new halal hotpot in London. It truly captures the essence of a Chongqing Hotpot restaurant in China. The atmosphere and decoration were very lively. We loved customizing the meal with a variety of thinly sliced meats, king prawns, smashed prawn, and whatnot. We went all out with the flavorful dipping sauces. But the highlight for us was the dessert—they are just to die for. The mango iced-shaved 🥭 and strawberry pingchoo were divine. My friends and I literally couldn’t stop devouring them. We would honestly come back just for the desserts. So make sure to save this video and check it out for yourself!

I recently dined at Nan Hotpot in London’s Chinatown and had an exceptional experience. The restaurant offers a variety of flavorful broths; I particularly enjoyed the pork tripe and special beef. The beef slices were tender, and the shrimp 🦐 fish ball absorbed the broth’s rich flavors beautifully. To conclude the meal, the Chiense ice green tea drinks was the best options. The staff were attentive and ensured a pleasant dining experience. For those seeking an authentic hotpot experience in London, Nan Hotpot is a must-visit.
