Had a great time. It was raining so we did not sit on the patio but it looked nice. Food was excellent. Our server was outstanding. And it’s a fun place. I tried the Irish Red which was very tasty. We did the salmon appetizer - really good and I did the fish and chips for the main course. Lots of fresh hot chips and beer battered fish with home made tartar sauce. Nana’s is highly recommended.

Met up with a friend here. We got Doris Day parking. 😁 We had Irish coffee, which I never have had before. I liked it. I had the shepherd's pie. Excellent!! My friend had clam chowder which he liked. Service was excellent!! There is a charge if you use a credit card so remember to bring cash.

Google
One of our favorite places in Nye Beach. Food is good and we'll keep going back. It's a solid 4 star location. There are small issues here and there, but they keep trying and overall it's worth going. We have been here no less than 20x. Great Irish Soda Bread.

Google
Went here with my girlfriend and her friends :) They all got sandwiches and pies and loved them. The fries and soda bread were especially delicious. They also liked the drinks ! It was quite busy with only a couple servers, but they were kind and worked hard to make sure we all got our food. I didn't like the mashed potatoes that much, until I added a ton of pepper and some salt and butter. Didn't get to try a dessert but we WILL be coming back for the baked apples with ice cream.

Google
My dad and I had the fish and chips and clam chowder. We just stopped in for a late lunch and we're seated immediately. Ordered quickly and got out food quickly. The chowder was unique and quite good. Loved the potato and big chunks of clam. You could tell it was homemade. I did add a dash of salt. The fish and chips tasted fresh and the portion was good. Drawbacks: Homemade tartar sauce had sweet relish which was hard to stomach. Coleslaw needed a touch of vinegar and seasoning. Service was quick but not overly attentive. Top mention: The Irish soda bread was amazing. Best I've ever had.

Google
My go-to place for beers, cocktails, and food anytime I visit Newport. In the Nye beach area this place always has solid food, and of course Guinness on tap. I always have a snakebite drink which was a half Guinness and half cider. Try it! My wife always orders the scotch eggs because they’ve the best anywhere, the sausage coating is fantastic!

I didn’t know I loved Irish food this much. We ordered the meatloaf and shepherds pie. Both were like home cooked meals but better.

Scott Peterson

Google
I got there half an hour before closing and they graciously welcomed me in for dinner. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, peas and soda bread. The meatloaf was so tender and flavorful and the soda bread which I've never had before was really good. This is an authentic Irish Pub!

Yelp
This is more for myself but whenever I go I ask myself "have I tried the Reuben" now I have evidence and the answer for myself. The meat is delicious but a little dry. The cabbage is not too acidic so doesn't offend too much like sauerkraut in my opinion. I like the honey mustard instead of grain mustard. Call me a big child but I'm not a fan of mustard in general. I would probably order again but maybe do extra mustard or something to moisten it up.

Yelp
This Irish pub was a miss. The Irish soda bread was the star of the show, which says a lot. I ordered the Irish sausage rolls and while the puff pastry was flaky and decent (pretty sure it was frozen Pillsbury dough), the mash was just okay. The gravy was straight up disgusting and they hit me with a gargantuan amount of peas. The sausage itself? No sear, just a sad grey log. Service was rough. Our waitress seemed new and was genuinely confused by simple requests, like bringing appetizers and entrees at the same time. When it was time to pay, she dropped off the card reader and just left it at our table for 15 minutes which felt like an eternity. Maybe I am nitpicking but honestly this place just was not good.

Yelp
So we had a busy day in and around Newport Oregon, seeing the sights, enjoying the winter storm watching. Come evening we headed into Newport looking for a good but new to us dining experience and we found Nana's Irish Pub at 613 NW 3RD Street. It was a busy little Pub but we soon had our table and Natasha our server soon had us fixed up with drinks, a nice Harp Lager for myself. Natasha was not only our server but bartender as well, she is a friendly and always smiling lady keeping quite busy with her other patrons as well. She quickly had our dinner order placed for two Steak and Guinness pies. Now these Guinness Pies were very good on this wet and cold evening. Being full of steak and veggies with a nice dark great tasting gravy topped with a great flaky crust. It really hit the spot, great taste and a very quick serv. So if you are hungry and looking for a quick great meal, stop on by Nana's Irish Pub and try one of their great pies or other Irish fare, and please say Hello to Natasha for me.

Yelp
Outstanding ice cold Irish beer, Awesome Oysters, Scotch Eggs, Meatloaf, and everything else on the menu is Outstanding. Great service, worth a visit if your in Newport Oregon.

Yelp
Not being familiar with the area, I asked a local for a good place to eat. They referred me to Nana's Irish Pub. Wow! What a gem of a pub. Obviously a favorite among the locals. Natasha is the amazing server that keeps everything running smoothly. I had the baked cod au gratin, which comes smothered with this cheesy/creamy goodness and resting on a pillow of mashed potatoes, peas and a slice of soda bread. Washed that down with a pint of Harp ale. What a meal!

Yelp
The food is sooooo good at Nanas! I always have to get the spicy chicken tenders but the steak and Guinness pie is great and all the appetizers and desserts. So delicious!

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Friday and they were pretty busy. I got lucky and was able to catch a spot right when someone left so I got seated after a couple of minutes. I ordered the steak and guinness pie and it was pretty good. I really liked the crust of the pie since it had a good texture. I thought that the filling was just decent though.

Yelp
We wound up at Nana's pub because half of our party didn't eat seafood. I could not have been pleased! Everyone was able to order what they wanted and everything i tasted was really delicious! Mom had the chicken pot pie, i enjoyed the Cod au Gratin. Hubs opted for a salad and the birthday boy feasted on the meatloaf! Nana's soda bread is out of this world!! THE BEST i've ever had! The chocolate bread pudding was so delectable and yummy!! i'm not a huge fan of chocolate desserts sometimes - because they are heavy and/or dry. This was neither! this was the perfect chocolatety end to a fantastic meal! Service was friendly and attentive. We were there for a late lunch, so it wasn't too busy or too loud! We actually talked with a couple (or regulars) at the table next to us! Great place whether you live in newport or are just passing through!

Yelp
Just do it! This place has charm, great service and very yummy food! We loved our stroll in the neighborhood as well! The food was so good we intended on leaving with leftovers, but instead we rolled out of there lol. The bartender made us an orange ginger mule drink that was super tasty too! We ordered the Ruben, steak pie, and the baked Brie. The Ruben had cabbage instead of sauerkraut which was very yummy. The corned beef was cooked perfectly and there was plenty in the sandwich. The steak pie had lots of meat and veggies. It is definitely enough for two people. The pastry was nice and flaky. The baked Brie was oooey and gooey. Just perfect! We'll be back for sure!

Yelp
Alrighty. An Irish pub in Newport, Oregon? Yup! Inside is very small, quant but small. I'm not sure if the back opens up in the fall/winter but there is outside seating. I know this is totally cliché but we wanted a burger. A good one and that's what we got! The burger comes dry, no sauce at all and at first you might be like.. uhhht oh. But no. The burger doesn't need it. Juicy and completely cooked to your order. Mine was medium rare and perfect. The fries were just so-so but the beer was great!! I had a half and half. Half Guinness and half red. The bread pudding was a bourbon chocolate and it was divine. That's heavy whipped crème on top and I have to say I've never had it made better than this. Service was SLOW. Good but slooooow. It was completely packed though and the next time we go I'll be ordering some of the authentic Irish food.

Yelp
This place felt like we were back in Ireland. It's quaint; nothing fancy but it feels cozy and comfortable. We ordered meatloaf, shepard's pie and bangers and mash. Everything was amazing; lots of flavor, big portions. The service was uncertain at first. They were confused where to sit us even though we were only a party of 4 and at times, it was tough to flag someone down for basic things like water refills and for the bill. But I don't think that will deter us from going back there.

Yelp
Excellent Reuben sandwich with corned beef. Attentive friendly service! Located in wonderful Nye Beach

Yelp
The ambiance is great and the outdoor patio is ideal for a nice summer day but get ready to wait because it might randomly happen to you. We were visiting from out of town for our anniversary. It was also the first trip to Newport in about three years and we specifically came here to celebrate our day. Our waitress ignored us after seating us on the patio for an unknown-to-us reason. We brought our dog and the waitress from the adjacent section came to say hi to our dog three times, four other couples had been seated and were able to place an order, and our waitress seemed to make every effort to not walk by in the 30 minutes that we decided to wait at our table. We left having not talked to our waitress again and went someplace else. In past visits, while the food and service has been great, this was our first time with our dog and it definitely tainted any desire to want to return at a different time. It's deeply unfortunate. Talking with some locals and other visitors later in the day, they informed us that this is a sadly common experience: good food and slow service and go if you have no time constraints.

Yelp
A trip to Newport is not complete without a stop at Nana's Irish Pub. Even if you're not hungry,  stop in for their Irish soda bread and a cup of chowder.  We stopped in for dinner. Got the Donegal shrimp roll and the Shepherd's pie.  Big portions.  The shrimp roll had enough shrimp to fill the bread. I liked the spicy sauce. Always happy with the clam chowder.  The Shepherd's pie was delicious. Good flavor and hearty.  There are two entrances to Nana's. One door on the bar side, other door to their restaurant. Both rooms have tables to dine. Ok to enter at either door.  It is always busy when we go. On a Friday for dinner or a weekend lunch. The wait hasn't ever been too long. Just remember that you're there to support a local business cooking up good food.  Tip: You can order their pies unbaked. While I was waiting for our table, a customer put in a take out order and requested pies not be baked.

Yelp
Perfect appetizers after the drive from Portland. We had the scotch eggs and donegal shrimp. I forgot to take a picture until we had already dug in! We sat at the bar and everything was fast and delicious. Will be back for a coffee drink and dessert!!

Yelp
Minion #2 and I are looking around Oregon for new digs, because I had an epiphany that I could live anywhere in Oregon with my telecommute job and we can flee our expensive yet truly crappy Portland apartment, and so we landed in Newport on a wet blustery November Saturday night with Minion's new boyfriend in tow ( he popped over from his nearby college to see my kid) after looking at rentals. We were cold and damp and cranky. It is not the best season to be looking to move maybe. Oh well. Irish pub food sounded like just the thing. Warm, carby, hearty. Right? It really is a very nice little pub. The staff were overall friendly and attentive. Only the hostess kind of wasn't ecstatic to see us. I think she was having a long day. I am using a walker right now because my post chemo neuropathy has kicked up and navigating between the tables was tough, and she seemed annoyed with that, but our primary server was great and very bubbly even when we were not. They have tons of alcohol choices and Guinesss of course which makes my Irish heart happy. I wish I could have had a boozy Irish coffee but I was driving. Minion who turned 21 not long ago surprisingly ordered a Brandy Alexander. It was potent, delicious, nutmeggy, and the kid only managed half of it. The boyfriend and I had rootbeers. We shared a smoked salmon spread appetizer ( yum), the kid got a decadent codfish gratin over mashed potatoes, I had a lovely shepherd's pie ( add cheddar cheese for $1), and the boyfriend had a cup of clam chowder and fish and chips ( not pictured as he is new and I am behaving). The kids also shared an apple raspberry crumble with vanilla ice cream. I tried that and it was very good. All in all a good meal at about $120 + tip for the three of us. Next time I am bringing my designated driver so I can have libations, too.

Yelp
Waitress was so rude when we went in and ask for a table. Just after 7 and she wanted to leave by 8, so you could tell she drug her feel to take our order, messed up on drinks 2 x because she "forgot", and we had to wait for our check while she stood at the bar flirting. Such a BAD experience, and I have heard mixed reviews the last two years! What changed? New owners? what? It sucks now.
google avatar

Yelp
The steak pie was delicious! Big portion with nice beef perfectly cooked. Reasonable good price for the amount of food, good quality ingredients, and tasty flavor. Good service, friendly Irish restaurant environment.

Yelp
We are visiting from Springfield for the weekend and came here tonight for dinner. We are so glad we did! Our waitress was super nice, and the service was fast. We started with the soup if the day, Split pea and vegetable. It was hearty and full of tender veggies and came with a thick slice of the best Irish soda bread I've ever had. Then we had the Curried Veggie Pot Pie. This was worth the drive from home! Tender vegetables, sweet raisins, an amazing curry sauce and flaky puff pastry, also served with soda bread. It was so good my wife wanted to meet Nana! The server thought we had issue with the raisins, but we said we wanted to compliment the food. What my wife left out is that I'm a classically trained chef, and really good food is a passion for us. This was an incredible meal. The atmosphere was charming and decorated for Christmas, everyone was nice. The food stole the show. We will absolutely be back for more if that amazing pot pie!!

Yelp
No wait. We sat outside and I ordered a Caramel Irish Coffee and hubby ordered Coffee Nudge.

Yelp
This place was absolutely delicious. I love that the outdoor patio allows dogs as well. Authentic comfort food with the friendliest staff. Patricia was our waitress and she was soo sweet. 6/5 stars

Yelp
First off I have to say this the bartender/server was great it was kinda busy when my wife and I came in we waited for about 15 minutes to get a table no big deal when we were walking up we seen the people standing outside and I sorta figured there was going to be a wait time we sat at the bar and ordered some drinks while we waited when a table came open we were sat I had the steak and Guinness pie and my wife had the shepherds pie and the flavors that came through was AMAZING the bartender/server was on top of her game I would recommend this place to anyone that is passing through

Yelp
We were visiting Newport for a few days and went walking to find a place to eat. We found this place, saw it had relatively good reviews. How wrong we were! We were sat inside and didn't get water or any drinks for 25 minutes. My spouse and I kept trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because there were no other nearby options for food. Another couple sat at the table next to us 10 minutes after we had arrived and even they were looking around, wondering when the waiter was coming by. The food was alright, nothing extraordinary. I got the Shrimp Roll which was bland aside from the small drizzle of spicy mayo sauce they add on, and the shrimp are big so they fall off the sandwich bun every time you bite into it. The interior of the restaurant is small, very close together and loud. They do have an outside area which probably would've been better for us due to the volume inside. Overall, won't go back. Newport needs more restaurants with a solid service and food options.
google avatar

Katie Z.

Yelp
Pretty fun little joint with plenty of drink options! The food menu was OK, typical pub style with an Irish flare. The service was somewhat disappointing. We sat at the bar for awhile until we were served, and while it was busy, there were people who sat next to us, after us that were repeatedly attended to. We planned to order food but decided to leave after a drink as we felt ignored. Oh well, I'd give it another try to see if this was just a fluke!
google avatar

Shannon S.

Yelp
Super disappointing. It's getting by on old reviews and an outdated reputation. It's been a few years since I've eaten here and the website states that it's changed ownership. It's not good. The ambience, service, and food quality have fallen apart. The cocktails are on par with a chain restaurant, weak and overly sweet. The food was bad. We started with the scotch eggs. They were overcooked and under seasoned. My boyfriend has a true dairy allergy and the server had zero knowledge of the menu. He went with fish and chips. The fish was frozen and super soggy. I ordered the shepherds pie, which I've had many times. It was under seasoned and greasy. I was excited for the house hot sauce. I've bought multiple bottles every visit. Nope. Sorry to say, it's not good. Nana's was sold. The new owners seem to be cutting every corner. Sad to see a local institution fall apart.
google avatar

Sharon C.

Yelp
A nice little Irish pub with a small interior so patio seating is recommended. Bring a jacket! They do have patio heaters, but our group is coming from 104 degrees and 62 was a tad chilly. The menu is interesting along with the usual Irish pub fare, they had some cool stuff like the pastrami and cheese fries, baked Brie with apples and chutney. All delicious! Friendly staff is very hardworking and we're handling a crowded Friday night like champs. We will definitely come back, maybe on a less crowded night so we can sit inside where it's warm. The restaurant is in a mixed residential/business neighborhood and there is no view of the water from here. Doesn't matter. Come for the food!
google avatar

Wade N.

Yelp
Excellent find. The reviews of their fish and chips were what brought us in. They were good. But, Debi ordered the Shepherds Pie and it was out of this world. Best we've ever had. We actually returned the following day to purchase some of their original hot sauce. It too was amazing. We will definitely return often. Delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Nanna's Meatloaf was melt in your mouth amazing. Peas popped, and the mashed taters played their support role so well. My Lady really enjoyed her Shepherd's Pie.

Yelp
Great food, as close to Dublin as possible in Oregon! Love the food, service and atmosphere.

Yelp
Visiting Newport and decided to have cocktails and appetizers at Nana's Pub. Ordered the oysters and Donegal shrimp. Should have known $13 for oysters, you get what you pay for. Dry, over cooked, right out the freezer bagged oysters. They had the texture like jalapeño poppers. The Donegal shrimp were just slightly better. Some pieces were good while others were undercooked and doughy because they were stuck together. Wouldn't recommend either. Service was minimal. Server only took our order. Other person delivered the appetizers. Server never came back. When she finally came around she asked if we wanted another round of drinks. I so badly wanted to say, yes "fifteen minutes" ago. Asked for our bill. Apparently they have a new digital bill system they just started to use. So I paid with a credit card. Mistake.... After I paid I saw that they charge a fee for using a credit card. Wish I knew as I had cash on me. Still tipped 18 %, but shouldn't have. Won't be returning.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Newport, OR. Feels just like an authentic Irish pub, especially on nights when they have live Irish music from bands like St. James' Gate. We like the Irish food, especially the fish & chips, the sausage rolls, and the corned beef. The chocolate brandy bread pudding is rich and decadent -- so rich that we usually share one 2-3 ways. The servers are fun and efficient. Come in for a pint of Guinness, and you'll be glad you did.

Sue M.

Yelp
Disappointing No servers or personnel interacted or were even cheerful. Our waitress never came back to see if our food was good. Fish and chips was 2 pieces fish, which were good, warm coleslaw, and cold soggy French fries. Corned beef was fairly warm with good flavor. Potato was cold, cabbage was cold, both had a white sauce with no flavor. The root vegetables were good. Soda bread was excellent, but I would have asked for more butter if we could have caught our waitress's eye to ask. All in all, quite disappointing. I would give a 2.5 rating if I could. Cute pub with outside seating area.

Carolyn F.

Yelp
Food, service and Ambiance outstanding! It brings back wonderful memories of my Ireland trip. I always like to hit Monday for the epic Colcannon soup! My husband swears by the Dublin Burger!
google avatar

Betsy T.

Yelp
Was pretty noise when we visited. Our table was a bit wobbly. I accidentally spilled my husbands beer because of it. Thankfully it didn't spill too much. Food was decent. I ordered clanceys chicken without the bun or cheese due to allergies I have. I was surprised how large the side salad was. My husband ordered the clam sandwich and didn't have any complaints.
google avatar

Janes K.

Yelp
Food was great. Service was poor due to short staffing. Waters were fast as possible i really objected to dessert. It was 3 tablespoons of the apple berry crisp. For the money I paid, it was disappointing! I left a 25% tip anyway for the waitresses effort. Caveat emporium on dessert.
google avatar

Whitney W.

Yelp
Came in tonight and was greeted and immediately sat at a 2 top with my husband. Waitress brought over waters quickly and got our drink orders, snake bite and Guinness, can't go wrong! We then ordered the scotch eggs as an appetizer, I would not recommend, dry, lack luster flavor, we didn't even eat the second one. I ordered the nanas meatloaf for which came with peas and mashers, all was great, the sauce on nanas meatloaf is delicious. My hubs got the bangers and mashers, a classic that never disappoints. We had to get boxes to go as the portions were hearty. The server was pretty slow, we waited patiently with empty drinks, i was finally able to order a shandy and my hubs a scotch. We boxed our food up, drank our beverages went to the bathroom, all while having our card on the table waiting for our check. We would have ordered another round of drinks but were tired of waiting, my husband had to go up to the bar and pay because no one ever came back to our table with the check.

Kathleen N.

Yelp
It was a rainy night in January, and Nana's welcomed us with warmth and courtesy. I was in a wheelchair and everyone was gracious about helping me. We had shepherd's pie (delicious!) And a burger (I obviously had a mental lapse, but it was also delicious). We finished with the incredible marionberry Cobbler, which I would visit just for it! Warm with three scoops of ice cream!

Yelp
Cool spot, nice patio. Food was rather good, drinks were too. Would like to return and try more items. The chicken and veggie soup was AMAZING.

Yelp
My favorite stop in Newport. I love the Galway cod dish and their clam chowder Wonderful servers always make me feel welcome

Yelp
A great stop in Newport for some unique Irish food. We ordered the shepherds pie, steak and Guinness pie and the kid's meatloaf (secret off-menu option). We all agreed the meatloaf was the best. Super flavorful on the outside and cooked just right on the inside with a delicious gravy over it. The shepherds pie was a little bland for me, I like it with lots of Worcestershire flavor in the sauce and this was lacking but still good. The steak and Guinness was our least favorite, kinda reminder me of just a beef stew in terms of texture and not really steak. The Irish beer sampler was a highlight, fun way to try lots of different Irish beers. All in all a fun stop and a change of pace from all the seafood restaurants in Newport.

Paul F.

Yelp
Excellent Irish cuisine and friendly staff. When you're in Newport, definitely go here.

Yelp
On a day trip to Newport and a late lunch was needed. We'd seen this spot on several visits and finally decided to give it a try. It looked fairly busy when we arrived but Travis assured us the wait would only be 10 to 15 minutes. We were seated 9 minutes later. The restaurant is clean and has a pub vibe to it. The prices are reasonable for a sit down establishment. Our bill for 4 people including a couple beers and a bread pudding came to $85 plus tip. Overall the food was great. One of the children ordered the burger and the patty was not seasoned as she normally likes it. A bit of a disappointment for her but it was not a bad burger by my standard. The Cod au Gratin was delicious and a good sized portion. I especially enjoyed the sauce and the soda bread to clean the plate. The cheese steak was tasty and filling and the lady enjoyed the baked Bree... it's one of her favorites and this one did not disappoint. The chocolate brandy bread pudding was delicious, albeit small compared to some I've had. Jill, our server was patient and attentive and kept our water glasses full. We enjoyed our experience at Nana's and we thing if you like the flavors of Ireland you probably will too.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Authentic food, great location, dog friendly, who could ask for more? Irish coffee choices are the best.

Terry F.

Yelp
Fun place and good comfort food. Stopped in before our dinner reservations across the street for a pint. The Guinness pour was proper. The place got packed quickly after we got there and seating is family style in pub area. The steak and Guinness pie was good. My wife enjoyed her Eisenhower essentially an amaretto sour with crown. The reason they were getting packed was incoming live Irish trio. The music was great and on a rainy, brisk, king tide night the hearty tasty dishes provided here coupled with a good drink is just what the doctor ordered. Great Pub definitely should check it out.

Yelp
You will not be disappointed with their food! It is Ireland in Oregon. We had the Scotch eggs, TAIGUE'S DELIGHT, Irish sausage rolls, and the best dessert on their menu, the BANOFFEE PIE . All were amazing portions and could not beat the price! We had our dogs with us and they were so attentive to us and them, they are HUGE dog lovers! Water bowls are available on the patio, and would make something up for your pups if asked! They do offer beef or chicken patty's for them as well. Which is what we did opted for. This place is accommodating, clean and lovely! It is on the corner of a intersection, parking can be limited but there are plenty of parking areas to access (we parked by the art building a few blocks down) there is also the "air garage" a block away. We went around 230 and it wasn't too busy, however the best times would be 2-4 if you want to beat any lunch/dinner rushes! If you are in Newport, give them your business. You won't regret it!

Yelp
We had some great food and the service was wonderful. We went two nights in a row. The Shepards pie was to die for.

Yelp
Cute place, food is great! Irish soda bread and scotch eggs for the win! In the summer you can sit out on the patio and eat and bring you pooch. Friendly staff, quick service.

Yelp
I love this spot. Nice little Irish pub near Nye Beach. Good food friendly staff one of my favorite spots in Newport.
