"Nanahoshi manages to be inconspicuous in the middle of Soho. This tiny sushi bar off Wardour Street, formerly called Jugemu, requires a degree of both patience and persistence. Enter through the curtain, take a seat at the wooden counter, and watch Nanahoshi’s owner and chef carefully sculpt each piece of nigiri. This family-run feeling may not be for everyone but the quality of the small plates and fish will be. Miso aubergine, takoyaki, and agedashi tofu are all delicate but deeply flavoured. If you’re looking for a proper catch-up or date spot with a difference, settle in for the omakase menu." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, daisy meager
It was outstanding, finally a cosy and authentic Japanese restaurant.
The two Japanese chef working in front of you are superb, they truly bring to your table the real art of sushi.
The manager was brilliant, he was really professional and he was always available to respond to any requests.
Quality of food: really great, the freshness of the sea food was impressive.
TO TRY...!

Wanted to like this place so much, but disappointed in the end. Fish wasn't very fresh, nobody wants to be chewing sashimi like wine gums. Gyoza were overcooked. Maybe just a bad night but I've definitely had better sushi in the area, especially at this price.
Nice ambience and staff who served us were lovely. Limited wine menu at the moment as they're changing apparently.

Our small group of three had an amazing dinner here. The restaurant is very small and cosy which also makes it great for dates. The food was really tasty and well presented. We were served by super friendly and accommodating staff.

Fairly good. The sushi is certainly the highlight.
We had nigiri, maki, carpaccio and they were all very high quality. The price is also reasonable, so great choice for those. We also had the tempura which was underwhelming, best avoided.
Service was meh at best, but didn't take away fom the food.

Yelp
this place is so underrated! I love yelp so was hesitant when I saw there was only a few reviews. We didn't order from the menu, they had specials up on a board and went from there. I barely took pictures because we were really enjoying the food and our time. Our server was amazing and made awesome suggestions from our wine to our meals! These guys know what they're talking about so ask for their advice when ordering. I can't help it but the playlist was so good... coming from a 90s baby!

Yelp
Best sushi I've had in a while !! Kind of a hidden gem as it is a smaller restaurant just right off of the road. Look down for one second and you will miss it ! Really great sushi and sushi rolls. However, when they get busy the service slows down by a lot more than it should. I once came with a few friends and it took 25 minutes for someone to even get us a water and ask what drinks we were interested in starting with. Again, the food is amazing so it is worth it even if the service slows. Desserts are also delicious if you have enough room !
