Two Restaurants With Michelin Star Cachet Will Open at Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts | Eater Houston

"The museum’s new addition, named for longtime donors Nancy and Rich Kinder, was designed by Steven Harris Architects and includes site-specific commissioned artwork and overhead Akari lanterns by Isamu Noguchi. The building will house multiple new food and beverage projects — including two full-service restaurants and a pastry/ice cream outpost — and serves as the latest expansion of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston." - Amy McCarthy

Recommend saving whole day to cover all 4 buildings(glassell, law, kinder, beck) and sculpture garden( included in the same ticket for $24, bayou bend house sold separately). There are too many exhibits and artifacts to see, even for someone like me not very familiar with arts. We parked in Glassell garage, passed through the glassell tunnel to ticket booth and started exploring kinder building. I liked sound/accoustic exhibit, decorative arts and mixed media arts. Then we spent some time at Cafe Leonelli, lots of food options here. Next we passed through Flores tunnel to law building explored islamic worlds exhibit( must see) and limited time exhibit, “pavia tapestries “ in the cullinan hall( another must see, but it’s only open for a month) . We ran out of time so we came back.

A MUST visit! The Kinder building has so much to offer for views of art in different forms and includes two gorgeous tunnels, one being an actual entrance to the museum! I come here every time the Museum of Fine Arts is free on Thursdays and it’s always worth it! I wonder if one day I could even work as a tour guide here with how much I visit LOL

Each gallery transports you to a different reality within art. You can expect to feel every emotion on the spectrum just by simply making your way through them. There was so much to see we will definitely be going back, and we missed the underground tunnels! We parked on the street not realizing there is underground attached parking, and it's part of the experience. Don't make our mistake! Enjoy our photo gallery and feel free to reach out if you or anyone you know needs help buying or selling real estate!

Let's assume there's no art on the walls here. The building itself is a work of art worthy of visiting. But then you look around and there's just so much interesting art everywhere. Almost something for everyone. Glad they have a wide variety of Latin American contemporary artists. Underground parking makes it even more convenient for super hot Houston summers and for cold or rainy days.

The newest addition to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston campus houses contemporary and photography art. The building is beautiful. A casual cafe plus a full service restaurant is on the main floor. Underground garage parking is available along with underground pedestrian tunnels to the other two buildings. Outdoors is a large sculpture garden with tables for outdoor eating or relaxing.

Excellent art with some of the finest pieces of contemporary and modern art. They have alot of the masters such as picasso, magritte, miro, edvard munch, rothko etc., But they have such a variety of sculpture , jewelry, furniture and it's very clean. Temperature checks before entry. Parking is available on Main street and there is free parking on the street if you can find it. Bathrooms are VERY CLEAN. There is hand sanitizer everywhere. The cafe and restaurant are not open yet but there are alot of good options nearby. A wonderful way to spend 2 to 3 hours. There are also interactive pieces.

They offer free admission on Thursday evenings. My wife and I stopped in on date night after dinner. We were there for about an hour and probably only saw 25% of what was on display. Parking was easy in the garage. Great place to visit, and we'll look forward to going again soon and seeing more!
