An unassuming storefront right off the Homestead Greys Bridge, this still rather hidden gem is known for having the best chocolate chip cookie in Pittsburgh, and the hype is worthwhile. I went on a Tuesday morning to get some cookies as a surprise Valentines Day present for my wife with my 3 year old son in tow. The very nice cashier was patient as he reveled at the numerous cookies in the bakery case, and then let him pick an M&M cookie for both him and his sister (who was at school)- free of charge. My half dozen very large and very delicious chocolate chip cookies were only $10, which is quite a bargain considering the area popularity of the item, and the current price situation for many bakery ingredients. Overall, a very worthwhile stop, complete with wonderful customer service and delicious cookies- could you really ask for that much more?🍪

Stopped in this morning for warm delicious, but under priced chocolate chip cookies ($2/ each). Mike the owner is so nice and sends cookies weekly to the troops through the tips people leave. This week some lucky troops in the Philippines will be getting his delicious cookies.

I ran 4 miles to try their popular cookies, but when I arrived and ordered, I found out they only take cash, and I didn’t have any. Hands down the best chocolate chip cookie that I have ever eaten. Mike, one of the owners I believe, waited on my husband and I this morning and was so kind. We purchased a dozen chocolate chip cookies and they were still warm. 😋 We cannot wait until our next trip, as we will be stopping by Nancy B's Cookies for more deliciousness!

After trying this for the first time I almost have to restrain myself from stopping by there everyday. It's SO good. My favorite items were the Oatmeal cookie and blueberry frosted donut. The cookie was soft with just a touch of frosting which compliments it well. And the donut frosting wasn't your typical lathered on frosting, it sort of hardened and gave a little crunch to the donut. What I didn't get pictures of were the chocolate chip cookie, snickerdoodle and the frosted sprinkle donut. All of which I'd get again, I just ate too fast to get photos of. You walk in and it feels like you're in someone's kitchen. Small and cozy area to order from with just the right amount of options to choose from. Maybe about a dozen cookies and pastries. Staff was super helpful in helping pick out what to get and they gave a pamphlet on the way out to see all of the pies, cookies, pastries, etc they make. Really feels like these cookies were made from your mother's kitchen, with the same passion and joy.

Food was nothing to rave about the chocolate chip cookies were smaller than what I had before the taste wasn't good as what they were. The peanut butter cookies were not good at all. Service was service he asked what I wanted I told him then got aggressive about apple dumplings that I wanted ,but it's considered a special order item. It's a small cookie shop that sells cookies that's in the case and only takes cash or checks.

As always the best cookies ever especially if you microwave them for 10-15 seconds, however I bought 2 choc chip the other day and the clerk charged me $4, I gave him a $5 bill and open the register and pulled out a $1 for change and simply put it in his pocket. I didn't say keep it, plus there was a tip jar on the counter. Not sure if I'll ever stop back.

Near perfect Yelp and Google reviews had me venturing out this hole-in-the-wall type Pittsburgh area institution known for best chocolate chip cookies. Nancy B's Bakery is located in a very old building in an area of Homestead that you probably wouldn't be inclined to stop in unless you knew the area. The shop itself is cash only and very no frills with a counter/display case and not much room to move around in. We were only going to go with 2-3 cookies, but wound up going with half a dozen consisting of mostly their signature chocolate chip cookies and the oatmeal raisin for some variety. We were going to get some macaroons since they were listed on their website, but they didn't have any the day I went, and it was just mostly cookies on offer. Perhaps I was expecting much better considering the high ratings, but the cookies just didn't hit the mark with me. The chocolate chip cookie was large in size with plenty of chocolate chips (maybe a few too many), but had a soft interior that made it fall apart while eating and was neither overly crunchy, nor chewy like soft cookies. We both had the same comments after sampling them that they weren't bad, but just nothing above average in the taste, flavor, or texture department. Honestly, Doubletree hotels give out a better tasting chocolate chip cookie to their guests. No regrets in trying out Nancy B's, but they won't have me as a repeat customer.

I stopped in to Nancy B's Bakery today to get a famous chocolate chip cookie. It was such a good decision and I timed it just right. The chocolate chip cookies were warm out of the oven! I had to buy two (one for now and one for later). The employee was so kind and we had a great conversation also. Just what I needed this afternoon. No question I'll be back for some more of their famous cookies.

From what I've been told, this is a Pittsburgh institution. They have early hours so it has been hard for me to stop. I finally go a chance and I was not disappointed. They carry a number of different cookies, but make sure you get their chocolate chip. That is what they are known for. If you are lucky, they will pull them right off the cooling rack for you. They put a tiny bit of peanut butter in their chocolate chip cookies and because of that they taste amazing. They are also huge!

Recently saw a post on social media about Nancy B's chocolate chip cookies and knew it was a must. They close at 4:30 so it's been a feat to get off work and get there in time before they close, but I made it yesterday! They have a wide variety of cookie options, but I just went for the chocolate chip since that is what was raved about on Instagram and what they are most known for. I got there 5 minutes before closing and was hoping for a deal since I'm sure they make their cookies fresh daily, but no such luck. Bought a half dozen and took them home for an after dinner dessert. We didn't try them 'as is' but warmed them for 30 seconds in the microwave and they were SO good! Lots of chocolate chips, warm and gooey, with a glass of milk. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Pro tip: they are cash only, so he prepared. They also have an ATM inside of you need it.

Best chocolate chip cookies I ever had at a bakery in Pittsburgh. Also it's nice to know a portion of the proceeds go to vets. Tried the peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, and snickerdoodle as well. All were ok, but the chocolate is so much better than the rest it's hard wasting time on any of the others.

This cookie is special. Super small spot and it looks like they do a TON of special and large orders. Must have been 20-30 packages waiting for pick up. Grabbed a peanut butter cookie. It was fine. Nothing extraordinary. Definitely good but nothing I needed to sit down in order to eat. The chocolate chip cookie is LOADED with chips, it's warm. It's large. It's epic. I spoke to two people from the area who hadn't heard of it and I couldn't believe it. No chance there is a better cookie in the area. Well worth it and super reasonable prices.

Experience: went with my friends after finals and it was exactly the treat we needed. I feel like I got one of everything for a steal! Everything was $0.75 with exception to the JUMBO (delicious, scone-y) chocolate chip cookie, which was $1.25. What I got: chocolate chip, buckeye, chocolate crinkle, pumpkin walnut. Would I get them again? Oh yeah! Other notes: bring cash! They have an atm but it's easier if you have cash on you.

It wasn't until an overhyped and way overpriced cookie chain moved into the East Suburbs that somebody mentioned Nancy B's cookies. WOW!!!! Undoubtedly, THE BEST, cookies I've ever eaten. The chocolate chips and centers of these cookies are always soft and gooey. Please go and try this place. I wouldn't steer you wrong !!!

This place was located very close to the hotel I was staying at and from my research, it is a local staple. Understandably so. The cookies I had were delicious and were a good size too. The guy behind the counter was super informative and friendly. I would return when back in the area.

It is small and with limited offerings, but it's definitely not to be missed! Those cookies are massive, gooey, crispy on the outside, and oh so tasty!! I had read that they have peanut butter in the dough which you get a very subtle flavor of it at the and- I might not have noticed if I hadn't read about that prior. I'd put them head to head with even gourmet cookies from some of the NYC bakeries like Levain! Definitely worth a try when I'm Pittsburgh!

I came here with an empty stomach and boy was that a mistake! I got six chocolate chip cookies and nine assorted cookies for $20. That chocolate chip cookie was sooo good. I got it when it just came out of the oven and it just melted in my mouth. There was limited parking and the store front is small. It definitely feels like a hole in the wall kind of place. The staff was very friendly and helped me pick out my cookies. Will definitely come back for more, maybe after a meal next time.

Nancy B's is without question home of the 'Burgh's best chocolate chip cookies. You would barely notice this little spot coming off of E. 8th Ave. in Homestead, though this sweet mural helps! You'd never guess these amazing cookies are behind this unassuming door. And when you walk in, well, the case is filled with pretty confections, but what they're known for isn't there. That's because those enormous chocolate chips are in the back, just waiting for you to ask, and they're brought out to you warm. It's cash-only and there's an ATM on site. I never carry cash but my four gigantic cookies ran me $6 at $1.25 apiece, which even I had on me. Their secret ingredient is a little bit of peanut butter, which explains why I love these so much, but something to be aware of if you have an allergy or don't like PB. Note that you can find these cookies at a few other spots locally, including Page Dairy Mart on E. Carson St. where they're part of a phenomenal chocolate chip cookie sundae.

Chocolate chip cookie, or the triple C in my books: For a very reasonable price, you will be able to treat yourself to an enormous, decadent cookie. Soft, little gooey, nutty (tastes like peanut butter that creates the savory-sweet flavor and soft texture), delicious with milk. It's the ultimate comfort chocolate chip cookie for bringing to gatherings, warming up at home on a cold winter night, or topping with ice cream for the iconic hot-cold pairing. As for the other cookies, I was not so impressed. The snickerdoodle was a bit bland and caky for me. I also tried a large, peanut butter bar with caramel, and I had mixed opinions. The caramel on top was delicious and really complemented the dry/caky bar, which I could barely taste the peanut butter. Overall, I was so impressed by their CCC that I could not care about the other underwhelming cookies that I got. It truly is a hidden gem of chocolate chip cookies!

Nancy B's chocolate chip cookies are to die for! They are massive, most likely the serving side of a Betty Crocker's cookie mix x4. To eat one is an extravagant, decadent, indulgent treat. We got 2 dozen! Walking into the kitchen to that delicious smell coming from two giant bakery boxes made me feel like it was Christmas morning! (Don't worry, we got our two dozen to split among two families.) Make sure to call ahead to Nancy B's ahead of time if you need a certain amount of a specific item. They are a small family owned local business so need your advance notice.

Tucked in a little store in Homestead is this amazing family owned bakery. They have lots of goodies to try but the chocolate chip cookie is huge, thick, and delicious! Best when they come right out of the oven

My husband had read that Nancy B's has incredible pastries and they are soooo good, they often sell out of them very quickly. He had to call in to place an order for half a dozen of chocolate chip cookies (I love chocolate chip cookies), so they would hold them for him. As I bit into this cookie, it crumbled in my mouth and tasted amazing! Easily one of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. And, at $1.25 a piece, what a bargain! Nancy Bs puts the chocolate chip cookies at Starbucks, Sally Fields, Dunkin Donuts (just to name a few) to shame. I cannot wait to try their other treats.
