A delicious treat in a delightful setting. The Ice cream is unique and Rich in flavor. You can't go wrong on whichever flavor you pick. Vegan options too. Definitely make it a point to stop here if you're in or near the Woodstock area.

Visited for an after hiking treat. Out of all the flavors we tried, our favorite is the goat cheese and blueberry swirl (photo uploaded). We also had the tahitian vanilla bean, buttered pecan and caramel swirl, and vanilla & fudge. Ice cream is creamy and not that sweet. ☺️

So nice, had to go twice! The Best Strawberry is a flavor that lives up to its name. I had a scoop my first time to Nancy's, made of local berries and seasonal. It was the best strawberry ice cream I've ever had! I also had the vegan mint chip which was delicious as well. The second time I went, I ordered the vegan chocolate and banana. I've never had banana ice cream and this was better than I even imagined. It paired very well with the chocolate. A "must stop" for anyone in the area. It's located inside a nice place, Bearsville, with restaurants, a pub, and outdoor seating areas and an entertainment venue next door.

We came for ice cream and found one of the best local made experience. We loved the apple pie ice cream! Coffee salty caramel and cookies and sweet cream.

The flavors were delicious. We got the mish mash, coffee and sour cream cherry. My only reason for giving a 4 and not a 5 is because the add-in’s were disproportionate overall. The mishmash had great amount of add ins, the coffee ice cream had too many chunks of brownie (never thought I’d say that!) and the sour cream cherry only had 1 1/2 cherries in the whole serving. Either way, the flavors were delicious, we just wanted many more cherries :)

Overall the person serving us was really nice, let us sample. However their smallest option the mini is quite large, but the caveat is that you can only get one flavor in it. They also have seasonal flavors so may not have everything listed on the menu. Was only one vegan option at the time, blueberry, but it was tasty. However my sister was disappointed that the sour cream cherry was not available. We were allowed to bring our dog in which was nice because it was pouring rain outside. We still kept dog on close leash. The ambiance is very nice.

Their ice cream is amazing! The owner is very friendly and lets you sample the flavors you want to try. Everyone should stop by here when they find themselves in the Woodstock area.

Nancy's at Woodstock is a true haven for ice cream lovers, and their Mexican ice cream is an absolute standout!

I know when it's hot outside there's only one way to keep my cool: and that's with a creamy ice cream. Honestly, any old ice cream just won't do- because it's all about the the silkiest and most flavorful. Away from busy Tinker St. in Woodstock, Nancy's artisanal ice cream and menu alone, will make your spine tingle. Named after the owner's mom, Nancy's is several steps above from the typical "ice cream parlor". It's an ice cream and literature relationship that you'll get since they've partnered with the Golden Notebook (a well-known, independent bookstore in Woodstock) offering reading material plus book readings and other events (double-check if they're still happening during COVID). Or just sit down and take in the atmosphere with your ice cream. Flavors represent her worldly travels and range from 'Popcorn', 'Sour Cherry', 'Peanut Butter & Blackberry Swirl', 'Stout'- to name a few. I think throwing in like a Bleu Cheese & Walnut ice cream into the mix would be cool. But hey...my Peruvian Chocolate was scrumptious and hubs enjoyed his Mango Sorbet- though I will say, it needed a bit more Mango oomph. He liked his Oatmeal cookies and my Chocolate Chip ones were too crispy. Prices for 2 very generous scoops are $10 and cookies are $1 a piece. Considering the ice cream quality and size, I almost get the $10 tag, but I also feel it's a bit much. But if you really want to try something different, this shop is golden.....for its flavors!

I have never had better ice cream and I have sampled ice cream in every state of the U.S over time. Generous portions, a very accommodating owner and an interesting combination of ice cream parlor, book shop and gallery. In Bearsville at the Grossman complex, the home of so much of the 60's music. A must visit.

Superb homemade ice cream with interesting flavors. I had the mish mash (vanilla with lots of crunchy things in it (cookie dough, brownie pieces, peanuts and more) and strawberry on a waffle cone. The strawberry was exceptional, too. Serving sizes are good, however if you want 2 flavors in your "single" (shown in my photo) there is a $3 upcharge. So it's $10 instead of $7. Not really sure why there is an extra charge. So for two of us having single size waffle cones with 2 flavors each we paid $22. It was expensive but also delicious. I wish it cost less but I would pay it again for the enjoyment. Photo taken after I had some of the ice cream because I couldn't wait/resist.

Not sure what's sad or reportable about my review - it's an honest account of my experience here: there wasn't really room to move through, as a result we broke something and then paid for it, and then were not treated with respect by the staff and subsequently the owner when attempting to voice concern. I've walked by since and noticed some rocking chairs that were contributing to the egress pinch points we struggled with have been rotated. Not sure if that's a coincidence, but it looks like there's more room to walk now.

I'm not sure how long this has been here or we just didn't know about it years ago. One of the best chocolate malted shakes ever! Plus what an adorable place. Chocolate chip cookies are amazing too.

Great ice cream and outstanding (and enormous) sundaes, especially the chocolate/chocolate.

I came in and got a single scoop of the sweet cream crunch (sweet cream ice cream with chocolate and peanut butter crunch). The sweet cream ice cream was nice and creamy, with good sweet cream flavor. The crunch pieces were very good. However, not so distributed... there were little pieces and huge chunks but not a big deal at all. Warning, the "single" scoop is really a large in most other places!

Really tasty ice cream! Had the mishmash which was deliciously crunchy. Worth a trip.

11/10 we LOVED the ice cream here. I went with the sweet cream ice cream with chocolate chip cookies inside and in a waffle cone. One scoop was PLENTY and was amazing. The ice cream was so creamy and the chocolate chip cookie chunks were so big and fresh and DELISH. My fiance went with two scoops of the chocolate in a cup with whipped cream and sprinkles- he absolutely loved it and said it was one of the best chocolate ice creams he has ever had.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Nancy's! The ice cream is so creamy and comes in so many unique flavors. Delicious pastries made in house. Ordered my son's custom ice cream cake for his birthday and it was a hit with the whole picky family. There is truly something for everyone here. To top it all off it's in a beautiful, clean building with a lovely staff. The owner Kathryn has a true eye for details, making sure every item coming out of her establishment is perfect.

Visited Nancy's twice over a two-day September weekend trip to Woodstock... and that's how you know. The first trip, I got a scoop of the carrot cake on a homemade waffle cone. A cream cheese base as well as a carrot base were swirled together, with generous chunks of carrot cake mixed in throughout. This as a great cone. On my second trip, I got a scoop of the cherry chocolate, which had chunks of extremely rich gluten free chocolate brownies in it. This flavor was even creamier than the carrot cake flavor, and because the brownies were flourless, they maintained a ganache-like fudginess that made for a perfect ice cream mix-in. My only complaint about the offerings at Nancy's was that there was no free cone -- it was either the homemade waffle cone which was offered at an up-charge (worth it!) or a cup. It would be nice to at least give customers the option to eat out of a cheap cake/sugar cone at no additional charge. The owner was extremely generous with samples, and on our second visit, remembered who within the group was vegan, which was am impressive feat. There isn't seating indoors, but as we were sitting at the table out front, the owner came out and offered our group samples of the pumpkin pie flavor that had been freshly churned. Nancy's is a must-go stop for a Woodstock Visit.

Came here last year & got the pumpkin ice cream! It tastes like a pumpkin pie in ice cream form! Loved it. The other flavors are great as well & Kathryn is so friendly. You can see the hard work & love she puts into this place! The decor is modern, clean & classy. The patties are gorgeous as well (as you can see in the pics!) My friend got a sundae & it looks SO good- I'm jealous! Amazing place, definitely a MUST to stop by when you're in Woodstock!

The carrot cake sundae was so incredible that even though I split it with my ex who broke up with me only yesterday it was still a very enjoyable experience.

This place was wonderful !! Our large group was treated badly down the road at "Taco Juans" see my review of that place. So we found our way down the street to this great place. The homemade Ice Cream and toppings were delicious and the service was top notch and provided with a smile even though we walked in right after they opened with over 20 people and kids in tow.

A local ice-cream joint with interesting flavors. You can enjoy the sweets at their outdoor seatings. I ordered the brownie sundae with carrot cake which was pretty good. Maybe next time I will try the blackberry basil flavor!

BEST ice cream I've had all summer.! We were blown away by the amazing flavor combinations - Honey/Fig, Sour Cream Cherry which was so lightly sour and creamy. Their Peruvian chocolate was deep and rich. Thinking of stopping for another taste before we leave Woodstock!!

This place is excellent! The ice cream is perfection in almost every way. They do an amazing job and I loved the experience. My biggest gripe is the flavor list is located by the front door so if there is a line you may not remember what you wanted. Not to mention none of the ice cream is visible...( I know it's not a necessity, but it makes a big difference when you don't have a flavor list where you order AND you can't see the flavors physically) Overall I will be back next time I'm in the area! Keep up the great work Nancy! The Guinness flavor was yummy, but the shining star was sour cream and cherry!

Last month after looking for a place to get ice cream with our kids, we found ourselves at Nancy's. Kathryn, who owns the store, is SO kind and very passionate about her craft. It comes through in how delicious everything is! We've tried the vegan mint chocolate chip, Tahitian vanilla, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, regular and carrot cake sundaes and all have been incredible! We've already been back 3 times. Totally worth a stop if you're ever in the area. Since the shop sits at the top of Woodstock, it's out of the way of the hustle and bustle so safe for the kids to walk/lounge around in front while still being close enough for an enjoyable walk into town.

I walked by this plain nondescript in the artist community of New York....Went by this Main Street level building 3 times thinking it was another art center. Matter of fact.. I was walking on route toward the Woodstock main street intersection to an ice cream store that had a lot of people lined up when I walked by it earlier. I saw Nancy's sign ....it read ......artisinal ice cream. Now in Woodstock New York that could mean vegetarian radioactive healthy or maybe it has hash in it. I didn't know what to expect Believe me, this is the best ice cream you're going to get in New York state, and that includes New York City .....only second to my favorite ice cream ....Das Creamory.... in Budd Lake nj. My chocolate malted was a rich blast of what seemed like the best ... Most heavenly malted I ever tasted with gobs of velvety hot fudge in it. Even though I'm full, I'm thinking about going back to Nancy's ... I've got one artery left that isn't blocked.... Otherwise.. . It's a long ride for some ice cream but Nancy's of Woodstock is worth it

Nancy's did not disappoint. Perfectly creamy ice cream comes in a wide variety of flavors. The staff are easygoing, helpful, and decisive. (They're happy to serve a mini-scoop in a cone.) The most popular flavor is sour cream and cherry, I loved that and the chocolate marshmallow. Group consensus is that we need to go back again before the weekend's over.

One star because of the old man troll in glasses behind the counter. Your line signs make NO SENSE!! 'Front of the line' 'back of the line', there's no where to actually wait. Then when your waiting that guy is rude to everyone and makes you move to the front of the store but there's NOWHERE to stand to wait to be served for ice cream. Seriously, EVERYONE that walked in there to wait for ice was told by this guy to move. FIGURE IT OUT, YOUR SIGNS AND SYSTEM AREN'T WORKING! The ice cream is good, but this place is doomed if they don't figure out a better way to serve their customers.

While the flavors aren't your run of the mill vanilla and chocolate, what they offer isn't exactly mind blowing either. We ordered lemon lavender, peanut butter, and blueberry. They all tasted good; just not great. The lemon overpowered the lavender, the peanut butter and blueberry were nice but not very creamy. The service was very friendly and lovely though.

The most amazing ice cream. So inspiring that I'm tempted to get a job here just so I can eat this all the time.

Best banana ice cream ever! The flavors are inventive and taste true to their ingredients. And very reasonable for generous serving.

This wonderful creamery was close to our air bnb and I'm so glad it was. I had the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. WOW!!! The best vanilla ice cream I've ever had. Creamy and delicious. The people in the shop were extremely friendly and I loved every moment, as well as every bit.

Awesome spot for homemade ice cream. Decent price for fresh made stuff. Staff is friendly and the ice cream is so different but so awesome. Will definitely be visiting again in the future.

The Peruvian Chocolate, Honey & Fig, Peanut Butter and Jelly - were outstanding. The menu was large and had a great variety of flavor options.

Nothing says Woodstock more than a jaywalking tourist eating an ice cream cone. Trouble was the only ice cream available was found at a local taco place at rip off prices. Nancys is not cheap but the homemade ice cream and imaginative flavors really fill the ice cream void. Large waffle cones were toasty and crisp; a wonderful cradle for my banana and salted caramel ice cream (at least I think that's what it was). As in any tourist town ice cream places get mobbed and I've seen the pedestrian traffic and line while driving by. But the times I went it was pretty quiet and still the service was s-l-o-w. If they can figure out a way to serve their customers better I'd be happy to give them another star.

Solid ice cream. Bummed they didn't have the pistachio I was looking for (the menu has an added "not yet" next to the flavor.) I ended up going with the salted caramel in a waffle cone, which was very good. However, there was something wrong with their freezers and I basically had ice cream soup. Would have rather they just said they couldn't serve that flavor.

Vanilla ice cream was good so said hubby i had a cone of cherry with brownie chunks -- ice cream was very smooth , creamy and delicious -- limited seating inside where it was cooler and the outside where we sat was limited seating and what they did have available was dirty and a broken chair unusable -- the ice cream was delicious such a nice town just get it to go

Warmly greeted by the owners and their adorable dogs, I very much enjoyed the banana ice cream with the oat streusel topping. Such an incredible combo! Appreciated that they seem to really love what they do. Will definitely come back!

Please go here and give them your money because if it ever closes I don't know what I'll do. best strawberry ice cream I have ever had. best chocolate ice cream I have ever had (I HATE chocolate ice cream, but love Nancy's). to completely change the game on these generic flavors really says something about the quality. I live and die for the sour cream cherry flavor. the milk stout is unbelievable. I have had EVERY flavor they offer (except for the new late summer flavors - they change some flavors depending on the season - because I just haven't had a chance to get there yet...maybe tonight...) and I have loved every one. EVEN CHOCOLATE. their sorbets are also off the hook. the only 2 negatives are that they run out of cones sometimes and that hurts my soul and that I have gained several pounds.

Delicious and charming! Great counter service, too! The ingredients are locally sourced and the unique flavors are utterly delicious (no pun intended)!

I'm always a proponent of small business. I'd love to say this place is great but unfortunately my experience wasn't. The "one scoop" portion was so lean that by the time I finished paying and walked outside and sat down....it was practically soup. I understand eating ice cream not completely frozen is the the best way, but melted is melted. Also, having kids running the counter is not their best idea.

I'd love to love this place, but they have yet to win me over. Flavors are diverse and imaginative, and ingredients seem to be of high quality. But either I've had bad luck, or many Yelpers are way more forgiving of poorly made/stored ice cream. On two visits, I've had ice cream that was either just this side of melted or, worse, icy. Today, in fact, I had the buttered popcorn flavor: tasty for a few spponfuls, but very icy, even to the point of a couple sizable chunks. I'd really like to see them up their game, and they should at these price points.

I am a big ice cream fan and Nancy's is one of my favorite spots in Woodstock. Everything is of premium quality which is reflected in the price. They are now expanding their home made baked goods and serving brunch. They have recently transitioned from a Very popular walk-up ice cream spot in town to a sit down ice cream parlor in Bearsville. I'm looking forward to many scoops to come!

Just slightly down the road from the main drag of Woodstock, but well worth an even longer trek. Everything is made fresh on premises (even the sprinkles and cones!) - we tried 7 different flavors (banana, chocolate marshmallow, butter pecan were especially awesome) before deciding. The service was very friendly and I really appreciated that they're using wooden tasting spoons (the owner told us with chagrin they used 1400lbs of plastic ones last year - never again!). I fully appreciate a local business wanting to do even more for the community and environment. Bravo, Nancy's! Looking forward to our next visit!

WOW!!! I am a vegan so finding ice cream that is rich, creamy and delicious is not an easy task. Nancy's covers all of that and more. They offer three flavors...chocolate, mint chip and vanilla. Truth be told I am not a vanilla girl on any level so I didn't even try it. Chocolate is life for me so I went with a scoop of the chocolate and the mint chip which had huge chunks of chocolate in it. For me that's a huge win. It tasted just the way ice cream should. The ladies that work there are lovely and we met the owner who was super nice. If you're in this area and need a vegan ice cream fix-or dairy ice cream which they also sell-check it out.

Some of the best homemade ice cream I've ever had. I had a scoop of the peanut butter cup and it was incredible. My girlfriend had the Tahitian vanilla with cookie, also very good. This place is right up the street from the main strip of bars/shops/restaurants. I would definitely stop in again.

A place that justifiably can use the word "artisanal". We went in with a large group and every flavor we left with left us amazed at how delicious it was. EVERYTHING is made fresh, by hand- not just the ice cream, but the whipped cream, the fudge, THE CONES. Simply delicious.

Nancy's has amazing ice cream, vegan ice cream and gelato. Even the flavors which sound odd (like blackberry- basil) are amazing. We have enjoyed everything we have had here. I recommend this place very highly!
