"Chef Meherwan Irani, the mastermind behind the Chai Pani and Botiwalla concepts, took his enthusiasm for bold Indian flavors in an American comfort-food direction with the recent opening of Nani’s Rotisserie Chicken in downtown’s Grove Arcade. Open for both lunch and dinner, the linchpin of the straightforward, takeout-only menu is sustainably raised chicken sourced from Joyce Farms in Winston-Salem. The birds are rubbed with a choice of a delightfully complex and spicy piri-piri rub or herb de provence and served by the quarter (choice of light or dark meat), half or whole along with drippings and flatbread. The selection of six sides feels reassuringly familiar but is definitely not your average coleslaw and mashed potatoes. There’s herb-roasted potatoes and a simple corn pudding with poblanos and red peppers. But braised winter greens get an elegant lift from red wine, sultanas and pine nuts, and a hearty chilled grains dish dresses up black rice and farro with candied winter squash, greens and Champagne vinaigrette. There’s a green salad and pulled-chicken sandwich on the menu, too, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Order online through the website for pickup at the restaurant, or opt for delivery via locally owned company KickbackAVL." - Gina Smith

Great locally sourced, ethically raised chicken. It’s a really good price for all of the food you get. The corn pudding is amazing. When we went, it was “fried chicken Friday” so all of the plates came with a fried option as well. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I definitely recommend checking out this new spot.

Joyce Farms RULES! Eat local chicken! Great sandwiches. Love the slightly spicy chips! The potato salad is mayo heavy but totally delish, great texture. The dried cranberries in the chicken salad are a nice touch. Quick service, my order was ready in ten minutes with no waiting in line. My bf really enjoyed the Chicken Melt. Bonus points: recyclable bags & compostable containers

I ordered Nani's holiday dinner for Christmas Eve and I am so happy I did. The portions was generous, the instructions were dummy proof, and it all came beautifully packaged. It reheated well and looked professional while tasting like it was made with care: a full roasted bird, beautifully moist and liberally coated in spices 5/5 a sweet potato casserole with crunchy oat topping, not too sweet 5/5 a sausage chestnut stuffing (dressing) that didn't make it to the table due to the QA tester going overboard (me) 5/5 six beautiful rolls, golden and soft like round croissants 6/5 green bean casserole, but better 5/5 corn pudding, simply perfection 6/5 cranberry relish & cranberry sauce 5/5 i love to cook, but why bother when you can get food this good for $60 to feed four grown adults without the stress? more time for booze and enjoying the night. A+

can't say I know anything about piri piri chicken, but this was fantastic. chicken is extremely moist and flavorful all the way through. potato salad was nice and garlicky, corn pudding was super wet and eggy (how it should be). skipped breakfast today and was still full enough to have a hard time finishing my beer. and apparently the chicken is local too. considering all that, plus the fact that it's downtown, it's a pretty good deal too. I'll be back!

I am conflicted. Is this Mediterranean or Hindi? A mix of both? We visited Ash and my friend swore by this restaurant . We came and the health code was 99 or 100 so right off I got excited. Now! I ordered the dark meat chix for my kid and I. I know they cook with heavy spices but this looked and felt over cooked and the chicken did not taste fresh. My friend told me the same of her chicken. The corn casserole was delicious and the service very very friendly. Small but very clean place. I really wanted to like it but doubt Ill come back.

the young woman working the counter was very friendly, which is always a great start . . . . I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the delicious chicken burger is actually ground rather than just a chicken breast filet on a bun and the chips are homemade and very good also

Please disregard the bad quality photo, I took a quick picture just before devouring my spread because Nani’s NEVER misses. Love every single thing I’ve tried here, and always feel so warm and welcomed when I go in to pick up my orders! The chicken salad roll is just perfect. The roll is buttery & toasty yet pillowy soft at the same time. The chicken salad? Perfect spices and flavor. I love the addition of the cranberries on top for a little sweet addition. Every single side I have tried from the summer to fall sides are perfection. Right now I’m a huge fan of the green beans, orzo salad, and (pictured below) CORN PUDDING. Just how my grandma made (possibly better, shhh)! Also bonus points for the chili special. Divine flavors and so comforting on a chilly evening like tonight. I always make sure to grab a bag of their housemade Piri Piri chips—spicy, salty, & crispy crunchy. Hot tip: dip them (and everything else) in the homemade buttermilk dressing. If you’re ever in a pinch for time and want comforting and delicious takeout, look no further y’all! SO GOOD.

Dang! The this place was amazing, the chicken burger was so juicy and flavorful. Added the bacon and did not disappoint! The chips with that silky seasoning put bbq chips to shame!
