Lobster rolls, chowders, and other seafood classics from ghost kitchen
"Its inaugural Nantucket Clam Shack ghost kitchen plans to make a comeback in the spring with lobster rolls, chowders, and other seafood dishes." - Tierney Plumb
"Operating as a ghost kitchen inside I'm Eddie Cano at 5014 Connecticut Avenue NW, I found a takeout-and-delivery menu of Hamptons- and Cape Cod–style seafood that aims to deliver a beachside treat: jumbo peel-and-eat shrimp cocktail; two clam chowders (a tomato-based Portuguese stew packed with linguiça and a creamy New England style with bacon); and lobster rolls named Montauk (Long Island style, served warm with celery butter) and Madaket (New England style, chilled with aioli and celery salt). The $27.95 lobster-roll meal includes coleslaw and Cape Cod brand chips, with each component packed separately — quarter-pound tubs of Maine lobster meat and rolls from a local Panorama bakery made with a splash of IPA. Additional offerings include a beer-battered fluke sandwich or a fried chicken sandwich with pickled ramps on toasted brioche with waffle fries; a whole key lime pie with a graham cracker crust for dessert; and a drink list featuring six-packs, growlers, wine, White Claw, and a dark-and-stormy cocktail for two. Fried whole-belly clams will be added when a Maine vendor is available. Meal kits for four (24-hour notice) supply everything for a lobster-roll feast or a Nantucket clam bake — steamer clams, mussels, shrimp, smoked sausage, potatoes, fresh corn, drawn butter, garlic bread, coleslaw, clam chowder, and key lime pie. Orders open at 3 p.m. and stop after 8:15 p.m.; customers can order online for curbside pickup, and delivery is available via DoorDash and Starship Robots within a 1.5-mile radius." - Tierney Plumb
