Napa Valley Distillery

This is a great tour to learn about distilling alcohol. Don’t be fooled or turn away because of its residential surroundings. The tasting is awesome and Chris was so knowledgeable about the distilling process and Napa Valley Distillery products. Go as a walk in, and you will get a tour on the top of the hour. Don’t worry about booking before hand. The site said it was all booked, and it wasn’t. So go to this awesome tour on the hour without a reservation and pay for the tasting when you get there. You learn so much about their product and how to drink high proof alcohol. The booze yoga is no joke- all the tastings were smooth and delicious. We walked out of there with three bottles, and we don’t usually like hard alcohol without mixers. The tastings were so flavorful, you could taste the fruits, florals, and herbs mixed in all of them. The flavors stayed on your palate until the next alcohol was in your mouth. This tour and tasting was worth the money and a lot of fun! I recommend this for something different to do in Napa.

The distillery tour was great. The products they make and have are also great. Theodore was out tour guide, and was awesome and did a great job. Highly recommend to book this when in Napa. And don't forget to check out their awesome bar downtown, too. Amazing drinks!

We had a late afternoon reservation at Mumm Winery and before that we landed in downtown Napa to hang for a bit and do some walking/exploring of this little town. It was a bit rainy, so we didn't do too much walking. After a bit we decided we better grab a snack before drinking so we stopped into the Napa Distillery. What a great little spot! All of the cocktails here are handmade basically from scratch when ordered. We had a horchata drink that was full of flavor, really tasty! The sweet potato fries were surprisingly good, highly recommend this bar snack. Didn't see a whole lot of options for cocktails around Napa, so the next time we're back through this area we'll definitely be visiting Napa Distillery.

Great hidden gem offering tours and tastings of the distilled alcohol in a comfortable setting. Knowledgeable staff! Lots of unique craft offerings, bitters, and cocktails. Happy hour $5 house calls. Excited to try more! Handicap accessible restroom, parking, most of the location. Great place for a group, intimate areas for couples.

We've been on some winery tours during our trip, but this tour takes the cake. Chris has the charisma to be a tour guide, and he absolutely made it worth it. We got around 6 different spirits to try, he shared a tip to stop the burn of spirits (it totally worked), and I can't believe it, but we became club members. We then went down to the bar to try some more drinks, and the bartender, Kyle, was extremely friendly and skilled. He answered all of our pointless questions about bartending ins and outs along with how to make clear ice. To top it off, he gave us a drink on the House. Although the service deserves to be mentioned first, it certainly doesn't take away from the exceptional taste of the spirits. This place wouldn't be what it is or ranked the way it is on YELP (2nd in the country) without the spirits being above and beyond. Go to Napa for the wine, but don't miss the distillery.

This is the best distillery in Napa. Cone for a tasting and stay for a bite of nosh. If you Love the spirits, join the club! It includes free tastings and spirits with drink recipes packaged & complimentary merchandise drink at pick up. Today I enjoyed the deviled eggs and truffle chips with blue cheese 🧀

I found this spirit tasting experience on Groupon so I decided to surprise my fiance with it. The staff here was so knowledgeable, down to earth and welcoming! When we got upstairs for the tasting room with Theodore we were absolutely awe struck! It was beautifully lit and stocked, simple yet elegant art deco space. The spirits all had an interesting story. I have such a new found appreciation for the process it takes to create! We bought a bottle of the old Hollywood cocktail. We headed downstairs to the bar where we met Kent. A San Francisco native with over 20 years bartending experience. I asked him to indulge me with a custom cocktail. He asked a few questions about my likes and mixed me up a beautiful cocktail. Let me tell you he did not disappoint! Stunning and inovated presentation with very sophisticated flavors. Alexander was bar tending also and was so warm and hospital. This place is a true CLASS ACT and we will definitely be returning.

When you get tired of all the wine... Come here, seriously! The spirits are remarkable and the staff are amazing. The tour is short, but fun and educational. The tour guide and bartender are both fairly entertaining/funny people, and they will teach you extraordinary techniques to drinking you didn't know you needed to know!

Recommended to me by my Airbnb host. I had never gone to a distillery before so this was an awesome experience. Decor is outstanding and Chris walked me through the history of the distillery as well as the science behind taking shots (strange, I know, but incredibly insightful). I, myself, am not a huge whiskey person, but Chris tailored the experience to my flavor preferences! The pourings were more than adequate - you're not necessarily going to get hammered at 11:00. Their stuff tastes amazing! Would definitely recommend if you've got time in Napa and want a little break from the wine. =)

After posting my review last night, I got a call from the distillery. The gentleman I spoke with said he never got my emails (the same email I sent last night, that he called me from), and that he never got any of the phone messages I left. He said they recently got a new phone and computer system and there had been some issues. He was very apologetic and said that he would send me a order sheet which he did to modify my order. I just tried to call to do the modification and it went straight to voice mail again. I just sent another email and hope to hear from them as the club order is to still. If this is resolved I will change my review accordingly.

I'd heard so much about this distillery in Napa & was looking forward to giving it a try. They offer tours &/or cocktails. Upon our arrival, we were instructed to seat ourselves & we're quickly attended by a server. The ambiance was nice, they have an indoor outdoor setup & they had live music. They have a variety of cocktails, which were very pretty & flavor wise were good -- though I don't feel like they measured up to their price tag. Of the two drinks I ordered, I enjoyed the Passinho the most, the Playa Azul was a little too sweet for me.

My wife found this gem on Yelp and we are not disappointed. Our second visit and our hostess Ivette confirmed the fifth star. As soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated. The relaxed ambiance of the cocktail lounge is popular with guests. The dim lighting, soothing music, decor is a relaxing vibe and the mixers OOOMMGEEE for real. Refreshing and mixed just right. We definitely will be back.

In Distill of the Night Napa Valley's first distillery (2017) since Prohibition, that features a bevy of signature spirits that take from a Ginn and Brandy to Whisky and Bourbon. I was gifted a surprise visit by my love on a recent trip to Napa. Which is a really big give, considering she's not into spirits like I am. The Good: *Our Spirit guide, Theodore, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and generous with the tasting pours. *You might get lucky and visit when they're bottling their wares, and that's quite the adventure watching. *Get a Groupon to cut the tasting price in half from $90/2 to $45/2 and a $10 credit towards items purchased from the store on your visit. *I enjoyed all the spirits we sampled, but I surprisingly really enjoyed their ginn, which has a great juniper berry flavor. *Great décor, vibe, and atmosphere in their tasting room/speakeasy. The Meh: *Some of the prices are a little high for what you get, but it's not surprising given the locale. *All their spirits are bottles at 80 proof. I really don't care that much--altho I'd love to try some cask-strength stuff--but I know some people do. The Ugly: *Not surprisingly, the neighborhood they're located in is a lil' sus... TLDR: Great place to visit when touring Napa and are tired of looking at and tasting fermented grapes, and you're finally ready for some real alcohol. :-P

Our host Adan was nice and also very knowledgeable. Learning about the process of making and distilling spirits was really informative. The pourings were fair and tasted great. Be warned, while they are following state law with pour amounts, this is still a lot of booze. Make sure to have a sober driver, this tasting is not for the weak.

Amazing tour, great spirits that are unique. Very educational and fun. Definitely take the time to take the tour you will not be disappointed! You will find a new favorite drink!!

Our trip started a little stressful, no fault of Napa Valley Distillery. Google Maps took me to the back of the building. We did see some very very healthy large chickens but we were like, "this isn't the right place". We called and they had us go around to the other side of the building and we were off and running. Our tour guide was pretty awesome and we were lucky to be part of only three couples and the other couples added a lot of fun to the experience. We enjoyed many of the spirits but ended up with a bottle of Old Hollywood Cocktail. There were many bottles that we would have like to take home if we had a car but we flew in and we were taking the train home. Really enjoyed the tasting and would highly recommend the experience!

The service, the ambience, the white bearded gentleman, by the name of Pappy was knowledgeable and Amazing. Can't say enough nice things. This guy should be employee of the year, definitely deserves a raise. This is the Napa Valley Distillery at the Oxbow Public market.

Went on a girls trip to Napa and one of my friends doesn't drink wine so I wanted to make sure we hit a distillery. The location is tucked away and hidden. But once you find it, you'll be pleasantly surprised. If you want a tour make sure you call and make a reservation. The outside as well as inside is just fabulous!!! The inside has cool 60's vintage going on. The mixologist Alexander is a pure gem, give that guy a raise!!! He made our drinks and our visit so wonderful. He surprised one of my friends with a drink, and it's one of the most stunning cocktails I have ever seen! It was topped with dried flowers, and a butterfly!!! It was almost too pretty to drink! We also had some other cocktails along with the truffle deviled eggs. I will be back here every time I go naps from now on! Thanks for the amazing experience!

If you like strong (creative) drinks, an educational tour, and spirit tasting... And no I am not talking about ghosts (lol), you should visit the Napa Valley Distillery. I wanted to plan a girl's event with my closest friends to experience a new city and try a tasting outside of wine. I happen to have found this place on Groupon ( $69.70 for 4 people) - not too bad. Be advised, that if you decide to participate in the spirit tasting, schedule a reservation on their website. The environment itself is a mix of retro / 60s vibe. The staff is beyond friendly and the drinks are strong!!! The food itself was alright. We enjoyed the charcuterie board and the artichoke. This location offers live music, which is also a great experience. Now.. The best part, is the tasting experience. I loved it! The host was AMAZING, knowledgeable and all-around friendly. The tasting room located on the second floor was beyond beautiful. He taught us how to properly taste/consume top-shelf spirits. The product itself was so delicious!!! I never in my drinking years experienced a spirit so delicious. Best believe we purchased a bottle To take home. Also, if you use Groupon, they take $20 off your purchase. I hope This review encourages you to visit!!

What a fun tasting! Our brand ambassador, Zach Harris opened our eyes to the distillery industry. You're treated like family! Delicious products and home-like feel! So much to see in Napa, but be sure to visit Napa Valley Distillery! Ask for Zach!

Loved everything about this place, the theme, vibe, and packaging of their bottles. The tour of their facility and the educational piece is unmatched. It was cool to see where they actually make their product and see how small their operation is. The full-lit bar upstairs and antique furniture made you feel like you were sent back to the roaring 20s. I loved the technique lesson on how to drink spirits and the demonstration of doing both ways and tasting the difference. Some of them were obviously a lot stronger than others but doable. Each of their bottles was very cute and petite and the labels are very unique. Everything is handmade. We were so impressed, we walked out with a membership haha! I won't tell you all the perks because you should go and experience it but it's worth it. We decided it will be our quarterly trip to Napa + I'm a sucker for unique packaging lol Do this tour! You won't regret it, one of a kind.

This unique place makes me love living in Napa even more. We started hanging out here to enjoy their cigar area-- essentially, it's a partially enclosed patio located outside of the main building. While they offer a decent selection of sticks, we've brought our own with no problems. The people who work at the Distillery start to feel like family after a short time, because they are genuinely warm and kind people. The cocktails are sublime. That said, we are usually beer people and they always have a small and well curated selection of beers on tap. We've enjoyed delicious snacks from their kitchen-- the fancy hard boiled eggs were a highlight-- and sometimes they have a pop-up vendor. We joined their club and now enjoy a free club cocktail each visit in addition to picking up a bag of lovely alcoholic beverages and mixers on a quarterly basis. I really like supporting a local family and enjoying their craftsmanship. It's fun to see how other visitors enjoy the main space-- they offer music, comedy, tastings, and more! Looks like it's a popular spot for dates and it's not uncommon to see people with well behaved dogs sitting at the outside tables.

Such a gem and a secret that needs to be shared! First and foremost, I went on the tour... stars out with a delicious old fashion... then to a really educated tour about the history of distilleries in California... then a proper training in how to drink gin and bourbon... it was outside my comfort zone but so Worth it! They make alcoholic bottles of your favorite which included lemon drops and limoncello! I was so impressed that I became a members...they have events, live music and a bar too! Such a unique place in wine country!!

Was looking forward to this as I had not done whiskey tasting before. Ambiance is weird & uninviting, dark cave upstairs to taste & $45 for barely a sip of 3 tastings?!? Seriously a sip in each glass. No one there & not busy, but Customer service very rigid. Wouldn't recommend.

We had such a great time at the Distillery. We found this distillery through a local guide book at our hotel, and we are so glad that we found the time to stop here! We got a great tour and tasting from Alexander - he was extremely knowledgeable, taught me the proper way to sip whiskey, and just gave us such a fun whiskey tasting. The tastings are done on their second floor in a little speakeasy type fashion that made the tasting that much more enjoyable! They also have the Hollywood Bar as part of their distillery, where you can also try cocktails with their whiskey. We wished it had been open when we were there, but we cannot wait to return one day to try it! A must stop in Napa. This distillery will make even the non-whiskey lover appreciate their whiskey.

Wanted to check out a distillery in the Napa Valley area, and I found this spot. We did a full tour of the building and also got some knowledge on how whiskey been made. employee is very friendly, we didn't eat anything but we did end up buying a bunch of liquor. LOL I'll be back again!

Walked in, ambiance was beautiful. Everyone was very nice and Chris was great! The Grand Salon Gallery was beautiful. Chris taught us how to drink the proper way . Who'd of thought someone in there 50's didn't know? Well I didn't made the tasting so great, I could taste the flavors of each alcohol without the burning nose . I'm not a fan of sweet, however the Lemon Drop was great and the Bourbon Cordial was as well. After tasting we enjoyed more drinks and food in the Hollywood room, so authentic, comfy, and welcoming. The decor was on point! Our party ordered deviled eggs, pepperoni pizza and Parmesan fries; very good. Excellent time and will return.

really enjoyed our tour and tasting. The folks at the distillery were knowledgeable and friendly, patiently explaining their process and products. Best part of course it the tasting, and I must say they have a very wide range of offerings and every single one was excellent in flavor and complexity. Every one of use in my group purchased something, can't wait to share the SOB Bourbon I bought when I get back home. I have been to other distillery tours, and this one was not only the best products for tasting, but their process and explanations were also high quality and worth the trip.

I used a Groupon for a tasting at the Napa Valley Distillery and it was a great deal! My group was a little late for the tasting, so we missed the tour but our guide was awesome and redid the tour for us once we finished our tasting! The tasting consisted of 6 different drinks and then we could try additional ones that are available for purchase (if you purchase a bottle, part of the Groupon goes towards the total). After the tasting, my friends and I got drinks down at the Hollywood room. They have a ton of different cocktails and mock tails. Would definitely recommend stopping here for a drink before or after the tour!

When he finally made it to this place. The wife and I have been waiting to go here for almost 2 years now. And we finally made it. It was worth the wait. Parking on a Monday was very easy and of course we made an appointment so we can sit down and chill out and get our drinks. Even though they were short staffed we still got what we ordered and it tasted great I got the mai tai and it was on point. I like the fact that you had options either sit outside on some tables and some stools or you can sit inside and the Hollywood Brown it was a nice little spot to sit and chill. The service was great even while being understaffed. We decided to look around and check things out and there are many options of stuff that you can buy here as well we will definitely be coming back.

Alexander was out tour guide his presentation was on point. This distillery has arrived you hear me it's beautiful and classy. The upstairs tasting room was my absolute favorite the set up was definitely impressive. Great for friends and with your love. You must join on the bar club because you will be sold on the whiskey and everything they have here. Christian made sure we had enough water and we were okay I am for the first time speechless about the distillery! #youguysrock #impressed You have passed the 5 star rating with me!

What is not to like about this place?! Excellent cocktails, cigars, bomb Japanese food. This place was kinda hard to find, but just so fun. We got there a bit too early around 2:20ish. If you go for the 3pm tour then the bar and restaurant will be open by 4pm. The tour tasting was great! We got to try so many things; we learned how to properly taste. Apparently, I've been drinking spirits wrong since I could drink. For the first time ever I have liked a whiskey, "ginn", wine vodka, brandy. The cocktails in the bar are top notch. So is the Japanese place.

LOVED LOVED LOVED IT HERE. Napa valley distillery. No something you'd expect from Napa. It's worth a stop hands not. The aesthetic is amazing! Friendly employees. Delicious drinks! You'll find things on their drink menu you've never seen before and they taste sooo good! You can get yourself a glass of brandy and smoke a cigar on the patio, what more would you ask for?? If you find yourself in the Napa area and are "wined out", this place is a must stop! Plus, If you live in the area, they're liquor subscription, is also worth it! With your quarterly payment you get free tastings each month!

Nice distillery. We came on a Thursday afternoon to pick up our club order. We wanted to do a tasting but no reservations were available at the time we needed. So we went to the Hollywood room for our "free" cocktails. It's been a while since our last visit and to be honest, it seemed a little disappointing. It seems so much more commercialized than before. Cocktails were ok. And one of the drinks we ordered the sazerac just did not measure up to its price tag $30!!! But our bartender was nice and offered suggestions and since we were sitting at the bar we got to see the drinks as they were being crafted.

Yesterday was our first time here and definitely will not be our last! We bought the Groupon for the tour & tasting and definitely will say it was worth the money! My boyfriend and I are newbies to the alcohol world (freshly 21&22) and wanted to try things we normally wouldn't buy at the store or bar. I am not a whiskey or brandy drinker but that Manhattan certainly converted me! Our tour guide was very informative and explained everything in a way we would understand it. Our favorites from the tastings would be the sacrilege & Manhattan! Definitely recommend those two. Our only complaints would be feeling pressured to buy something after the tasting (which we would've bought but the Rye Manhattan wouldn't come in for another month) & the fact that the Hollywood room was closed. Other than that, we had an amazing time and definitely will be back!

As soon as we walked in, we were immediately welcomed with open arms. You can truly tell how much the staff values the customer's experience!! The bartender Alexander was absolutely attentive and great at balancing the foot traffic. Despite things getting busy, I still felt that he tended to us above the standard. We were always getting checked up on & taken care of which is truly rare to find! 10/10 recommend coming here. The service is beyond exceptional & the vibe is immaculate!!!

First time here but won't be the last. The entrance takes you to the distillery but we decided to go to the Hollywood room to have some drinks. The drinks were just delicious! I don't like my drinks very sweet and they make them just right here. Also the waiters are very knowledgeable we asked for recommendations and I loved both that they recommended. Started with the Strawberry coast it had a sweet and tart flavor and just the right amount of alcohol. Then I got the Portofino which I actually preferred because it was a bit more tart but just as delicious. We saw they also have some food & saw others getting some and it looked really good so we will definetly try those next. Prices are reasonable for what you get in the drinks. Restrooms were very clean.

The Hollywood Room is a true hidden gem drowning in the sea of wine. Since I don't love wine, but still love heading up to Napa/Sonoma, I wanted to try something different to spice up the day. Enter the Hollywood Room. It was super nondescript - like in a dead end alley with a giant bbq truck in front of it. I was a little skeptical, but once we got our drinks I was soo happy that we ended up here. The bartender is truly amazing.

I had a friend from home visit from out of town and Napa used to be her stomping grounds to go out. Her younger sister recommended hitting up the Hollywood Room at the Napa Valley Distillery. I've never really heard of it or seen it on social media but I looked it up online to make a reservation for 2 on a Thursday evening after Thanksgiving. There was a reservation available after 7pm and it's located not too far from downtown but while you're on your way there you might feel like you're about to head into a tow truck place but don't worry you're in the right area. It's tucked in a corner and they do offer tours but we just booked a tasting in the Hollywood Room. The staff are very friendly and there were only a couple of other people there. Their cocktails are handcrafted and super good and strong!! All of the servers recommended different drinks for us to try based upon what we usually like to drink. I think we got the Flamenco and Playa Azul to start and had another round but I couldn't remember what the other drinks were but all so good. Comes with complimentary water bottles and we were hungry and ordered their deviled eggs and pepperoni pizza which was also really good! Their Hollywood Room is a nice room to sit and take pics in and they have an area connected to outdoor seating. I would definitely recommend making a reservation and bringing some friends for catching up over a drink here.

Comedy night at the Distillery. How fun is that! 50 people ready for laughter! This is our first visit and we will return. The appetizer deviled eggs were great!

This place is one of the great gems of Napa Valley! Tucked away in an unsuspecting location you are greeted with a space reminiscent of old Hollywood. Everyone from the tasting room attendants to the bartenders and servers are warm, friendly, and ready to help you choose a favorite spirit. Napa Valley Distillery can be seen at three locations; in the Oxbow Marketplace, downtown at their chic bar, the Arbaretum, and at this location which feels more where locals come to have a few cocktails, listen to amazing live music on Friday and Saturday nights and nosh on some nibbles (I highly recommend the Cajun dusted sweet potato fries!). My husband and I instantly became members and look forward to spending time here on a weekly basis! If you're looking for something unique and local this is a MUST try! We bring all our friends and family whenever they're in town and it's always a crowd favorite.

All wined out? Look no further. Napa Valley Distillery is the place to be for some uplifting spirits! My bf loves craft cocktails, so NVD was right up his alley! We arrived a bit early and were welcomed by Arthur at the newly opened Hollywood bar in front of the building. Decorated totally retro, it's a blast from the past! The Hollywood has a pretty extensive craft cocktail menu, so it was hard to narrow it down, but we settled on two house creations: the Portofino and the Reservoir dog. Not only were they eye-catching, they were so delicious! Arthur stopped by to check in on us and mentioned the pretty little bits floating on top of my Portofino were dried hibiscus and anise. Such nice, thoughtful touches. I absolutely LOVED my drink! Arthur is a mixology magician! The tour and tasting by Theodore and Antony was informative. It's cool they bottle some of their concoctions so they're ready to enjoy straight away. No need to do all that measuring and mixing yourself! I can't wait to try our loot at home...and return to Napa Valley Distillery for more house creations!

What a fun experience! The Hollywood Room was intimate and the drinks were amazing! Our mixologist created perfect cocktails (based on a few simple questions!) while we waited for our Distillery Tour. The Tour was a blast! Not only did we sample some delicious spirits but the hosts were hilarious, knowledgeable and super laid back! If you are looking for a break from wine tastings, or just a really fun night out ... I highly recommend!

This place closes at 10 pm not 9 pm. Awesome drinks, great atmosphere. They have live music on the weekend.

The Hollywood Room at the Napa Valley Distillery embodies hospitality and quality at it's core. Living in Napa for most of my life, I can assure you this is a gem. It's kind of like a "hole in the wall" (or "Napa's best kept secret") kind of deal which makes it all that more magical. I am a club member and It's worth very penny! This location has everything that keeps you craving more. The hospitality you receive from the staff, the quality of the ingredients they use, the creativity and passion that goes into every cocktail and food menu item. It's the pinnacle of perfection. Antonia, Jorge, Ivette, and Alexander have all been extraordinary in their very unique ways. Whenever I'm greeted by them it's like coming home. What they have is something you can't teach; genuineness. Antonia is the most amazing mixologist I've ever encountered. Even when I could only have mocktails she nailed it every time. You simply can't go wrong. Jorge and Alexander are the kindest humans you'll ever encounter. Alexander will also craft the cocktails of your dreams and brush it off as if he was just "messing around". You will never feel like you're a burden and on the contrary, these two will make it their priority to make sure your experience is memorable. Ivette is like a long lost cousin. It's a guaranteed great time and she's always there to make you laugh. It's hard to describe but she definitely makes you feel "at home". The quality of the food (try the pizza with pepperoni and the deviled eggs with the tapenade!) and the beverages are not any different to the service. You can tell, see, and taste that they do not shy away from providing the best quality for their guest. It's very obvious that the standard of greatness is high in any of these establishments (Napastäk, Arbaretum, Napa Valley Distillery & The Hollywood Room). I'm very grateful, supportive and encouraging of others to visit and indulge in the experience of one of their locations. I already can't wait to visit again, and hope they know how deserving they are of all the success.

Started our day trip in Napa sparking wine tasting, wine tasting and topped it off with spirits. As soon as we got there, we were by the outdoor seating of the "The Hollywood Room". So pretty! A necessary during post covid era. We embarked our tour with Alexander where he shared history and progress of their hand-crafted drinks. Went upstairs to the Grand Tasting Salon and it was so beautiful! Starting our way with a flight of 6 drinks, taken away by the variety of tasty drinks and even learned the life-changing "Booze Yoga" (WHY ISN'T THIS TAUGHT everywhere?!?). A couple of the people from my party joined the Club and we definitely took advantage of the member's discount--purchased everything we tasted. Will definitely come back again, can't wait to stun our home guests with our "own" handcrafted drinks. ;)

This is a wonderful place for trying out different kinds of distilled spirits! There is one particular drink that is outstanding! Alexander makes a particular drink here using lavender that is out of this world! You need to try it and ask him for it when you get here because it is one of his specialties that he concocted himself. He is also very helpful and amicable when presenting you with different drinks from the Hollywood room. Come try this place out, you will not regret it.
