My in laws always get their olive oil here. My mother in law passed and we went on a road trip with her car back to Chicago. This was one of our first stops. The owners were so lovely and welcoming. We enjoyed talking with them and sharing how meaningful this was. They gave us opinions on best road trip routes and then offered to take our picture as we were leaving. The olive oil has been serving us very well. We got two big jugs and we will need to get plenty more in the future. We also got some balsamic and some truffle olive oil. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Was in Calistoga and chatted it up with a person at a nearby restaurant. They told us about this hidden gem and they were right this place is awesome! We had so much fun looking through the store at all of the pastas, oils, and meats & cheese. We bought a variety of items made spaghetti that night pasta was delicious. Luckily we only live 30 minutes away. Definitely stop by if your around.

Google
I feel old writing this review. My first time at this store was 23 years ago. When we go to the 'wine country' we mean Calistoga, just so we can go to this store (and Farmstead down the street). Their olive oil is fantastic and we always have to buy for quite a few members of our family since we have been buying extra for Christmas gifts for years. I can't recommend this place enough, if you aren't close - make the extra effort to come and check it out.

Google
Love this place! Don't just go for the olive oil, there are so many products you get anywhere else. We love the one pot pasta dishes.

Google
A store that gives you the vibes of an old town. The store carries a variety of food items like cheese, cured beef, jams, imported pasta etc. We came here for their olive oil and it did not disappointed. The olives are produced in nearby orchards. There is a small parking lot and shaded picnic area.

Google
Definitely one of my favorite places to stop each week as a kid in the 80s. Always finding different cheeses and other goodies to try. Absolutely had to pick up a Molinari hot salami! So glad to see that this place is still the same

Google
If you like olive oil, fresh charcuterie or you want to build the perfect Italian picnic, do yourself a favor and come here. The olive oils are delicious and unique and you can taste them all. At the same time you'll be treated to recipe tips for how to use each. If you're like us with an obsession for oil and Italian meats you may get lost in this store. Fantastic people run the store and are always ready to help!

Great choice and variety of tasty jams, pastas, salamis and more

Yelp
Everything stated previous review still stands, but.... I've tried 4 other brands. 5 star on taste and quality... the olive oil is exceptional! 5 star on The blackberry jam also exceptional! Location: painful, inconvenient,.. Shipping expensive..... And yet....still worth it.

Yelp
This place is the embodiment of a hidden gem. We drove up to St. Helena just to explore and I spotted this on Apple Maps so I followed my nose and stopped in. It's been here for ages it felt like. They have a large, from the motherland olive oil press that was brought over by the grandparents I believe. Reminded me of ones we saw in Greece. Special. And inspired such reverence for our forefathers that emigrated. Such a different time! And that's what this store inspires. A bygone era. Beautiful glass bottles fill the store with jams, vinegars and oils. I sampled the olive oil & had to buy a bottle. I also collected a raspberry jam that I'm devouring rapidly because it's exquisite. My husband procured some of the hanging salami's and we had that on our ride home. Everything was great. The man at the counter check out gave us some history. I was so happy to have found this. As was my husband who promptly requested I find more stops like it... And undoubtedly there maybe but they're few and far between so let's keep these places open and continue to patron! I can attest this is a worthy stop on your Napa tour.

Yelp
A small hidden gem of a sweet Italian grocer in a barn-like setting in Napa Valley. From pastas, to cheeses and of course olive oil galore, and salami? Prices are reasonable with the nicest lady in the front. I'm always on the hunt for a great olive oil place and I found Napa Valley Oil to be such a wonderful find. No frills, and just simply a jewel of an Italian grocer in the wine country. I'll definitely be back for olive oil and balsamic vinegar refills.
google avatar

Yelp
Olive Oil Treasure Our friend recommended that we visit this historical Italian grocery store. Happy we did---as "we were" pleased to find a treasure chest of perfectly blended and flavored olive oils as well as plentiful selections of meats such as: prosciutto, salami, sausages. Not to mention --the huge selection of breads, cheeses, peppers, wine, and pastas imported from Italy. With so much to see --we had to buy a few olive oil flavors, cheeses, salami, and breads. We were on the go-but there is a convenient cozy picnic area right outside the store. Not much of a view-but you are surrounded by olive trees. If you love olives-- this Italian grocery store is a must stop! This Traditional grocery store as been family owned and in business since 1931 and---- is known for harvesting and creating uniquely flavored olives -which are founded on the same techniques since its beginning. Perk: Everything olive is here! Staff: Welcoming and knowledgeable.

Yelp
I have sampled every olive up and down the coast of California. This is te best. Clean taste, not bitter,This is the best.Like liquid gold.

Yelp
Tucked away from the main road in Saint Helena you'll find a little market barn with a tree shrouded picnic area. Inside you'll find a well stocked old world Italian grocer with their signature Olive Oil and an impressive assortment of Italian grocery goods and a few old time sodas if you're a little thirsty. Even had an assortment of "Broken Thorn" de-alcoholized wines. A gem of Italian groceries in a rustic setting.

Yelp
The ONLY place for Olive Oil & Parm ..... 1. Good bread - preferably a locally baked baguette 2. Slice some parm and place on bread. 3. Drizzle with olive oil 4. Take a sip of red wine Now close your eyes and you are in Italy

Dave Z.

Yelp
The best hidden secret I have been going to since I was a kid - 50 years ago. If you want to have Italy - this is the place.

Ron H.

Yelp
We have been purchasing olive oil for years and is my preferred oil to cook with. They make both virgin and regular in sizes ranging from pint to gallon glass bottles. They have a huge selection of all sorts of dried pasta, salamis, jarred olives and Italian Morrello Cherries in a blue and white ceramic jars, a must for Manhattens. Friendly, feel good Place.
google avatar

Karmina S.

Yelp
Visiting here brought me right back to fond memories traveling abroad. You wouldn't think you're in Northern California. I tell everyone about this little gem. The staff is so friendly and eager to tell you about their shop and its history.
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
Run ‍ don't walk to this place. And buy everything. We stopped in bought some cheeses buy the fresh cut slab ("this good" "a bit too much" "how about this" "looks good"). Great prices the little old Italian lady did the math in her head. The Olive oil was divine. We sat in their picnic area and chowed done under the olive trees.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Pardon me, would you happen to have any California olive oil? Love, love, love this place! My good friend, Miklos Trumble grew up down the street from here and is always raving about how wonderful it is. His praise was not unfounded! Fun, funky, charming, and authentic - Napa Valley Olive Oil Company is a "must stop" when visiting Napa.
google avatar

George C.

Yelp
Love this place. We stop here every time we're in the area and have for many years.?We come for the EVOO, but there's something about the imported cheeses, cold meats, and pastas. We arrived in the morning shortly after it opened, so they had not received their fresh French bread delivery. When we grabbed a loaf from the bin, the Italian lady who works there let us know immediately that it was yesterday's bread. We decided to get it anyway so we didn't have to make another stop. Since it wasn't fresh, she didn't charge us for the bread. Nice gesture that was greatly appreciated. Their fresh Parmesan cheese is just the best, and so is the Molinari salami and imported coppa. A visit here is like a travel back in time to old North Beach San Francisco or Sonoma. It can make your whole day.
google avatar

Yelp
The best olive oil ever! My family has been coming here since my father was young. Phenomenal with old world charm. I drive 1.5 hours just to come for the nostalgia. You also can buy things online and have them shipped if you're not nearby.

Yelp
After reading about the olive oil selection at Napa Valley Olive Oil, the Mr & I made a special diversion in between tasting reservations to see what the hype was all about. Nice picnic area beside the small parking lot with lots of shade. This was be a great spot to go inside the general store, grab a few nibbles then enjoy the treasure But we had another wine reservation to get to and we're there for the olive oil......there was a table of different oils ranging from extra virgin to truffle & other infusions as well. The store had pasta and tomato sauces, jams & jellies & everything you would expect in a general store The oils were flavorful & reasonable priced & this def made us fans of this tucked away general store

Yelp
We drove to St. Helena many times over the years just to get their fresh pressed olive oil and outstanding vinegars. They make a difference in our cooking outcome (there is no turning back after you have used their EVO and chili EVO). As you walk into the "barn" you will feel like you stepped back in time. The aroma is created bread, pasta, flavored vinegars, flavored oils and jams. The staff including a sweet woman that creates an atmosphere of "home" and will answer any questions, give you input on their outstanding products and cooking suggestions. Grab some tapenade, cheese and bread and sit on their picnic tables and enjoy! We moved away from Northern California, and I ran out of my EVO. I called and discovered that you can order it online! We have been ordering online for gifts and our use. They are fast and efficient at shipping. Same quality product with ease!

Yelp
Looooove this wonderful family run Olive oil factory! I needed a gift for a friend who has everything... I know he loves olive oil & cheeses so I got him a Gift Certificate! He loved it! I highly recommend if you're in the Napa Valley area(St Helena) you've got to stop by. It's a hidden gem! They have Cheeses, Meats, Salami air drying.. Olive oils & lots of plain & flavored vinegars, Biscotti's, hunny's, pastas & sauces, Italian drinks and much much more. They have everything you'll need for a quaint Italian style picnic at their tables under the trees in the heart of the beautiful Napa Valley... Julie .
google avatar

Miggi D.

Yelp
Local people recommend me visit this place. It is nice to see the picnic table next to the shop so you can buy some cheese, olive, dried meat for picnic. A place not only sale olive oil. The door is very small.
google avatar

Brianna B.

Yelp
This tiny family owned business is off the charts!! You can find anything you need to make an authentic Italian dinner. We go here monthly to purchase fresh pressed olive oil and balsamic vinegar- after tasting the olive oil I would never purchase store bought again!!

Trisha T.

Yelp
Try the Mission olive oil.. it is amazing...very smooth and delicious. I love the taste, I like to take a teaspoon in the AM and a teaspoon in the PM...
google avatar

Susan S.

Yelp
It's like entering an old world market or a speakeasy either way you can find everything Italian when it comes to cuisine. There is a plethora of pasta in every shape imaginable. Stacks of sauces, canned or bottled, sweets galore, EVO, Vinegars, Giant Bread sticks, it's easy to get your picnic basket supplies here too, it's all there and more just waiting for you to pick & choose. Whenever I'm in Napa this is my go to grocery store and stop. I pick a few staple items that make my Italian meals sing. I suggest you bring an insulated bag for cold storage items like Parma cheese, pancetta or any other perishable items you may purchase. They do have a nice picnic area with tables just outside their store too.
google avatar

Helene G.

Yelp
Adorable little place run by the cutest Italian woman who let us taste a delicious Italian cake and was very pleasant to talk to. Olive oil was being purchased by the gallon and looked amazing. The fresh made olives, bread and dry salami were all amazing. Highly recommend a visit as the place is stocked with authentic Italian goods.
google avatar

Lana Y.

Yelp
Hands down, this is the BEST place to buy olive oil. I love their many flavors. They have more flavors in the store than what you can buy online. I highly recommend this little local store for all of your olive oil needs. Try out a new flavored olive oil. You won't regret it!
google avatar

Paddy O.

Yelp
This place needs 6 stars. An absolute must go to if your visiting. We buy a year supply of olive oil whenever we visit St Helena. Founded in 1931 family owned. They owner is a sweet older Italian grandma. Make sure you let here taste her flavored olive oil mixes.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little gem in Napa! Interesting vintage Italian small market. Great items available for a picnic. Big selection of cheese and salamis.

Norm N.

Yelp
Good olives and olive oils. Nice folks . Very helpful and informative. Will definitely stop in on the next trip.
google avatar

Karen B.

Yelp
Delish and authentic olive oil. I use it myself daily cooking but I also ordered some small bottles to give as hostess gifts in the future. I love going to the shop itself too to try more when I'm in the area.
google avatar

Debbie M.

Yelp
Always a must to visit this store and get olive oil, cheese and crackers...sit outside and enjoy a snack
google avatar

Anita M.

Yelp
It is nice to sit outside at the picnic tables under the shade of the trees. Get something to eat and drink at the store first.
google avatar

Joanne L.

Yelp
Such a unique tasting! We were in wine country but we're not really into wine, so this was quite an enjoyable alternative. We bought some breads and cheeses and then they allowed us to bring a few bottles of their olive oils out to sample at no extra charge! We got to sit at picnic tables under their olive trees and enjoy the weather and the food. The cheese was fantastic! My favorite of the olive oils we tried was the blood orange. So unique!
google avatar

Andre S.

Yelp
Am I in Italy or Sicily? authentic old school barn olive oil, balsamic tasting, yummy cheeses and breads! Pasta's sauces, olives and charcuterie! On a back street in St Helena? so glad places like this still exist, happy to support. I have driven by this place hundreds of times. So friendly old world Family feel. I bought a big bottle of extra virgin, tasted so fresh! For our health! Salute ''
google avatar

Trevor F.

Yelp
Best Olive Oil ever... been going for years and order it by the case! Love the cheeses too...
google avatar

Trish G.

Yelp
An absolutely amazing hidden gem. Not only for the oils and vinegar's. But the amazing selection of yummy cheese. You will find cute, functional gadgets and yummy Italian treasures. It's a messed up for me whenever I come to Napa.
google avatar

Therese F.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. Great olive oils and vinegars. Wonderful pepperoni. Folks that eat dairy tell me the cheese is "to die for." A great place to stop and have a picnic (they have tables outside) mid wine tasting trip, or just to stop in and stock up your kitchen. A true Napa valley treasure. [Cash and check only. They are old school like that.]
google avatar

Yelp
I found this place on yelp. It's location in the middle of a neighborhood that was a little weird. The parking was a good size. It look like the store was either an old garage or barn. It was a little store but everything they sold was very authentic. They did have a lot of olive oils & sausages. They also have cheese. It was a cute little store but not what I expect from Napa.
google avatar

Yelp
Some places have great food. Some have great prices. Some have great deals (pretty good food, pretty good price). This place has great atmosphere. I don't mean, like, the romantic candlelight kind, but literally the delicious aroma inside. The air in this little white barn results from about 90 years of thousands of wheels of Parmigiano-Reggiano, thousands of yards of cured salamis and pepperoni, untold numbers of loaves of fresh bread pastas olives tapenade, and of course olive oil. I began dropping in here during the 60s, regularly when I lived here in the 80s, and even today... things haven't changed much. Check this scene out, though admittedly it's something of a dream, an anachronism from days when Italians had made it to the west coast. Some left the city to do the same agrarian work they knew from back home, but they couldn't get certain food items in the valley they were accustomed to in the city. So the proprietor found the need and filled it, and with minor changes the need is still being filled. Except the customer base has changed considerably, meaning it's you needing to escape whatever you have to do in the city. And here's proof that life can be even better without a master's degree, except you can't take it home with you. Instead get a jug of olive oil, a loaf of bread and some take-out malfatti from Val's in Napa on your way home. And enjoy the atmosphere, air is free.

Yelp
Great spot for a variety of items! Glad we stopped by. I picked up 3 different types of olive oil, a variety of jams, some balsamic, and a stick of hot salami. The place was welcoming and the host was able to handle very inquisitive tourists who joked and asked plenty of questions!
google avatar

Adri L.

Yelp
This place was an interesting stop on a day full of wine tasting! It's tucked away in a neighborhood and a total find! We purchased some cheese, bread, crackers, and olive oil. All of it was outstanding an delicious. I would best describe this establishment and service as family run, old world charm. The building is old and really, really cool. We had to wait in line but it wasn't a problem because there was so much to explore. Outside the store there are tables all around so you can pick if you want to sit in shade or get some sun (depending on the weather... it was chilly when we went so we sat in the sun!) The ladies we encountered were really nice, they let us try the cheese before we purchased it and gave us a container to take the rest home. Next time I am going to see if we can drink some wine while we snack on food. Pros: Great variety of cheese, olives, olive oil, and more. Different feel from norm High quality and authentic foods at a good price Cons: The tables outside were dusty - not really a complaint but something to be aware of if you're dressed in white.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm Italian and this place is a goldmine of a find! This is legit Italian, with the real goods and very fair prices! Stumbled upon it after a recommendation from a friend for the best infused balsamics around.
google avatar

Lea M.

Yelp
There are two locations. One on the main street and this is hidden away. So glad I found this place. It is truly a hidden gem of Napa Valley. Pretty surprised with how little I can walk away with but be so happy with it all. The place is a run down barn but the cheese options are fantastic. The have this large plethora of balsamic vinegar and olive oils, which is always a plus in my book, along with dried and aged salami. The picnic tables outside are perfect for a small quiet lunch area with plenty of shade. Limited parking.

Yelp
This is a MUST go! A great place with a charm that is unbeatable! The olive oil, red wine vinegar, and balsamic vinegars are ALL OF THEM unbelievable and flavorful and robust and delicate and SMOOTH! Even those with a bite are oh so smooth. Go. Talk with the family. You will fall in love.
google avatar

Yelp
I truly believe this is a very hidden gem in Wine Country that's been around for years for those who know about it. The Lucchesi Family has been in this location for years(Wifey went to school with their daughters) and quality and consistency in their product hasn't changed since day one. Aside from some of the tastiest extra virgin olive oils, and balsamic vinegars of different sizes and flavors, you can find just about anything and everything to create a tasty Italian feast. Cheeses, Salami, Olives, Pastas, Polenta, canned items, beverages and many, many more. Local residents have continuously supported this family run business year after year, and once you've sampled the goods here, you may just forget about other similar shops and delis in the area. After sampling their oils and vinegars, I went with a killer threesome of their Truffle Oil, Blood Orange Oil, and ADDICTING Peach Balsamic Vinegar. All I need now is a nice baguette to enjoy them as is. Cash and personal checks only...ALOHA!!! Shaka Meter: \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ 5 YELP 365 CHALLENGE 2014-(30/365) "St. Helena's Hidden Gem"

Yelp
This is a charming little store in St. Helena that we discovered on one of our trips to Wine Country. It is chock full of lots of Italian imports and a great place to go and get all the fixins for a picnic. As the name states, they make olive oil and it is wonderful. We visit it every time we are in the area. When we thought about what we wanted our wedding favor to be, we wanted something that we loved and represented us well. We immediately thought olive oil and why not get it from one of our favorite places. We happened to be in Napa a few months before the wedding so went into the store to inquire about whether they did small favor bottles and lucky for us they did. The woman we needed to speak to was unfortunately on vacation, so I needed to call her once we got back to NY. Narcisa was a pleasure to deal with. She even mailed me samples of the bottles and oil to make sure I ordered exactly what I wanted. Narcisa worked hard to ensure that everything arrived on time even with a UPS issue. It all worked out and the olive oil is delicious and was a big hit among our guests.

Yelp
This place is like an old grocery store. It does not look clean at all... Who knows?! It has a lot of Italian specialty food items. Prices are on the higher end. They sell food and people seem to like it. I visit to get truffle oil. I wonder if they make it there? I am afraid of how the kitchen would look like. I hope its cleaner than the store front and bathroom. Staff is friendly.

Yelp
First experience in this golden gem. Customer service, products and history = amazing. There's an antique olive press in the middle of the shop , be sure to ask for details. I bought wonderful products: made fresh pizza ready to take and bake, salami & pepperoni sticks, gorgeous selection of pasta, sauces, and olive oil. Be sure to check out the olive oil sampling. This place is very worthy to shop - just don't forget to bring cash, credit cards & ATM cards aren't accepted. May be a good spot to put an ATM machine-hint HINT bankers.

Yelp
I love olive oil and definitely wanted to try something local, and I read several positive reviews about this place and their oil tastings, so I went with my family. We walked in and were promptly ignored by the staff. One guy was very friendly, but kept deferring to the lady in charge, who kept stocking shelves and continued to ignore us. I had to ask twice to try some of the oils, and was told "help yourself" even though there was no bread, just a metal countertop and no cups. After a third ask, the lady came and cut us some bread and poured some oil out on some wax paper for us to try. My mom really liked the blood orange, and after trying some other oils, asked to try it again, only to be told "that was the first oil you had, you had it already". Look, the oil is good, and we came there to buy, and we walked out with about $50 worth of product. But any more of that kind of reception and we would've walked. The aunties kept saying it's because we're Asian, and I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but the one other negative review here warning people of color doesn't reassure me.
