A 101 Guide to Ko Samui: A Tropical Paradise of Leisure and Culinary Delights

"A great spot to enjoy this part of the island is Napasai, A Belmond Hotel, which stakes out its private corner of the island. The villas and residences are slightly elevated, set on a hillside above the slither of the beach, which does wonders for the views. The interiors are sedate, eminently palatable, and place comfort above all else – it’s not a hotel for design junkies, but luxury hotel aficionados will feel right at home." - James Whiting

The most amazing hotel! The staff here are absolutely exceptional. Everyone so willing to help and friendly - we had a lovely flower making session with a staff member who was so sweet. The breakfast buffet food was always fresh and delicious however I just wished the buffet went until 11am! The rooms are great - we had a sea view villa and the bed was big and the room spacious with a fantastic view. The pool area is lovely and always clean. I appreciated the free water that is brought to you as you sunbathe. We didn’t eat at either of the restaurants as they were insanely expensive for Thailand but we enjoyed some room service occasionally and it was very tasty. Truly a hidden gem resort and on a beautiful part of the island - Bin Tai beach just next door was so incredible. You’ll have to get taxis or hire a moped to go to the more busy parts of the island or for some dinners but this wasn’t a problem for us. We will definitely return! Thank you Napasai for a wonderful trip.

I have been going to the north of Koh Samui for 25 years and I discovered this resort by chance. You could say that I have been to all the 5 star hotels there are, but this one is absolutely amazing in terms of price-performance ratio. The food is absolutely great, the accommodation is also great, and there are many activities to do. However, what really stands out is the fantastic and great staff, starting from the reception, through the restaurant staff and ending with the very funny guys at the beach bar. This is definitely not the last time I will be here and I recommend it to everyone. Finally, I have to highly praise the Russian lady at the reception, I don't know her name, but she is incredibly emotional and nice, like all the staff here. For me, the best hotel in the north of Samui Daniel

I visited the hotel at the beginning of July to find time for relaxation. The property is spacious and ideally located on its own beach, and it has a pool. I stayed in a lake-view villa – spacious and well equipped (e.g. air conditioning). The two restaurants offer good cuisine and use local ingredients. Excellent food and drinks. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I can highly recommend a visit.

Recently stayed 9 nights with our grown up children across 3 villas. The hotel is in a beautiful location on Koh Samui tastefully laid out with the villas being perfect for a relaxing stay. |A private beach and plenty of beds by the pool meant there was always somewhere to relax. The spa was great too - offering many different types of treatments. Prices for food and drinks were also very reasonable considering it was a five star hotel.|Buffet breakfast included everything you’d expect with fresh eggs, waffles etc cooked to order. There was a choice of two restaurants to eat at on an evening although most people seemed to go off site or eat in their rooms as they were very quiet when we were there.|Lots of taxis available to get to local markets, shops and sights and plenty of activities and trips that could be booked by the hotel too - so it was a perfect balance of relaxing & sightseeing.

An amazing hotel for spending a few days in family. The views are unforgettable. Thanks to Mauricio, the chef; to Zackie at the restaurant; and to Kit, with the buggy and taxi, for their attention. They were amazing with us. I recommend the hotel for a family looking for peace.

5 star resort with 5 star service. It has a luxury meets nature feel (my fave) and you feel like you are in Thailand. It’s not just another luxury resort plopped in an exotic location. This resort feels unique, Thai, and looks like paradise. ||I loved my Sea View Villa. It had an amazing view, a beautiful Thai style design, and privacy. I appreciated that the resort was not overcrowded. It was easy to find shaded seating on the beach and by the pool, and I always felt like I had my own personal space. The pool is massive and beautiful. There is easy access to included ocean equipment like SUPs, kayaks, and windsurfers. Food was very high quality and I appreciated having 2 onsite restaurants to choose from (one directly on the beach.) Ultimately, I felt as if I had the ability to have the privacy and peace of a private luxury villa with the amenities of an absolutely beautiful 5 star resort. ||I can’t not mention the service. The staff are friendly, attentive, and work to create an individualized experience. Napasai has a useful app that has all needed info and allows you to text staff with requests or concerns which are quickly addressed. I was able to arrange 2 excursions and a private cooking class easily. There was no up-charge on these activities (I compared similar options online before booking through the hotel) and their recommendations were better than what I found on my own. I was able to book a trip through the hotel that was listed as sold out online.||I also appreciated all the little touches, such as a Thai fruit and a nighttime candy-like snack delivered to the room each day. They even sent me home with a personalized thank you gift. I highly recommend this resort.||Of note, I was the only solo traveler that I saw during my stay. Other visitors were families or couples. I never felt uncomfortable, but it is helpful to know the average clientele.

Napasai was truly one of the most amazing hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well looked after. The personal touches, like coconut ice cream upon arrival, and the hand-woven bracelets on departure were so special. The hotel offers a really great range of complimentary activities, like Muay Thai sessions, Thai cooking classes and flower-bracelet making, so you’re never short of things to do. On the hotel grounds there are tennis courts, bikes, kayaks and paddle boards that you can use at any time, which we did and really enjoyed. The pool and beach are absolutely stunning, the rooms were spacious and very luxurious, with king size beds and a large bath. The breakfast buffet was also excellent and we looked forward to it every day. Thank you to the whole Napasai team for making our stay so memorable ❤️

Staying here was a fantastic experience. From arrival, service was exemplary and the hotel facilities are amazing - from the infinity pool (great size and perfect temperature) to the tennis courts, gym, private beach. We stayed in a sea view villa, which has everything you need and which has a nice terrace space for relaxing. The location is great for peace and quiet, yet only a short taxi ride away from Bophut and other places on the north coast. There are also a few restaurants a short walk away from the hotel.
