No fuss, no muss Cantonese bakery with sticky floors & cash only policy & you better know what you already want. It hits the spot if you're looking for cheap prices. Along with some of the buns & breads, all I could remember was trying both the traditional Cantonese & Portuguese style egg tarts; both good, but I've had better.

A local’s favorite. Located in the heart of Oakland Chinatown. This bakery has been around for a long time, serving favorites like pineapple, custard buns, cocktail buns, BBQ, pork buns, and many other options. Most buns starts at $1-$3 each so It’s very affordable, and delicious. There’s always a line in front of the store, which means the pastries will run out before 3 PM so come get your hot buns, fresh buns for breakfast or brunch or lunch it’s a quick snack under five dollars. **Don’t forget to follow me on IG and Yelp for more great foodie places to check out Follow... @Only1ChristineLu **

Update, as result of the increasing egg price, as of April 5th, 2025, the egg tart price increased to $2.00. And cake roll price increased to $9.00. There is a sign said check the change before you leaving the store! The egg tarts are the best. The currently price, as July 7th, is $1.75. Was $1.50. Cash only place.

If you like Don tat (egg tart). Go. Now. That is all. I used to hate egg tarts as a kid. Napolean changed all that for me. Flaky, buttery, pure deliciousness with a balanced, sweet egg custard filling baked to absolute perfection. Never dry, always fattening, always delicious.

Google
Always a line but that's how good they are! Possibly the best chinese egg tarts in the bay - smooth filing, super flaky pastry shell, mild eggy flavor, not super sweet. They have a dozen different types of baked goods. Tried their custard buns that looked like an apple turnover - 4/5 too little filing, but good fluffiness. No seats, service is pretty quick. Cash only.

Found Napoleon Super Bakery off of Yelp and so glad I did :D Most part of downtown Oakland aren't the best. Napoleon is in Chinatown. Streets are a bit dirty, and doesn't smell too great. Be aware of your surroundings. Street parking and be sure to read the signs! Now on to the good parts! I was a bit unsure how it would actually taste, so I first ordered 2 egg tarts and a pineapple bun. Went back to the car to eat (since the smells of the street were potent) and devoured both quickly. The egg tart is made well. Although not hot, it still had a great ratio of crust to custard. My comparison would be to Golden Gate Bakery. If you eat the egg tart from Golden Gate Bakery, they are still usually hot/warm when you eat it...but Napoleon's tasted just as good as Golden Gate Bakery imo if you waited a few hours. Also, we stopped by about an hour before closing, so I wasn't expecting anything hot. The plain pineapple bun were good too, so we decided to go back and order more :D I decided to order another half dozen of the egg tarts, some coconut tarts, cake, and a few pineapple buns. Pretty much anything they had available, I grabbed some to try it out so I could share with family. I didn't really get the prices, but it is definitely an awesome bang for your buck. I think normally the egg tarts are $1.50, but they mentioned since the crusts came out not up to their normal standard, they lowered the price to $1.30. I waited 1-2 days after to finish an egg tart and it was still so good without heating it up too! I am highly recommending Napoleon Super bakery. I hope maybe I can come in the morning one time (if I'm in the area), so I can see if they have hot baked goods available. If I'm near the Oakland area, I will ALWAYS try to stop by Napoleon to grab some treats :) Follow the adventure @shoyuthebest on IG!

Google
If you're looking for some freshly baked Chinese pastries, Napoleon Super Bakery is a great place to visit. The baos are delightfully fresh and very reasonably priced. I love the filled pineapple buns here - the fillings are not to sweet and generous and the cookie topping is crumbly and delicious. I will note that the egg tarts are good, but I personally like the ruby rival's down the street a little bit more - I think the crust is flakier there - but these are still solid egg tarts that I wouldn't turn down. Like most Chinese bakeries, the staff don't speak much English and can be gruff, but the pastries are WORTH IT. Be bold...go get those baos!

Google
Always has a line for good reason! Got the red bean bun, bbq pork bun, and the egg tart, service was extremely fast after waiting ~10min in line. All 3 were great prices and great quality, devoured them immediately!

Yelp
We got our wedding cake from Napoleon and were very happy with it. We came six months before, which was too early, and we were told to come closer to the wedding. There was a language barrier while ordering, so we wrote down all of the specifics and also had a friend who could speak Cantonese come with us when we ordered six weeks before the wedding. Payment was cash only, and we felt like we got great value. The ordering process was very casual. Napoleon delivered to the restaurant for the reception. It was completely hassle free, and absolutely worth the very reasonable delivery fee. We specified purple flowers, green leaves, and white striping. We were very happy with the cake's appearance--there was a subtle gradient with the purple flowers that we liked a lot. Napoleon constructed the cake there, bringing the tiers in one at a time. We got four tiers for 300 people, which was more than enough - we had about half the bottom tier leftover. Two tiers were mango mousse and two tiers were mixed fruit. The cake is very light and moist, and not too sweet. The wedding cake version is a little different from how Napoleon's cakes are usually constructed--there were two thick layers of sponge with a thick layer of mixed fruit or mango mousse in between. We enjoyed eating the cake after our wedding, including some that had been thawed from the freezer.

Yelp
My absolute favorite item is their mini red bean pineapple buns. They are affordable and delicious at only 60 cents each or 5 for $2.50. I grew up eating red bean bo-lo baos in SF from a specific bakery and Napoleon's very closely resembles that of my childhood. The red bean paste is sweet and smooth, the pineapple crust gives a good crisp, and the bread dough is the perfect texture. I want to say I have tried all of the bakeries in Oakland Chinatown and Napoleon's has the best red bean pineapple bun.

Yelp
Date: 1/18/2025 Time: 4:00 PM 53° Cool As many times I have walked by this bakery, I have never went in until earlier today because the line of waiting customers is always long. After having lunch at Yung Kee, I am craving something sweet. I can no longer walk by, and I stand in line. Since it is my first time at Napoleon, the only thing I have in mind is a slice of a lemon filled sponge cake roll. There isn't any. All right, I decide to purchase a butter cream bun, two egg tarts and a savory cake roll. Total cost: $7.00. (Cash only) The egg tart is not overly sweet. The crust is flakey and quite good. Yum; no more going to SF Chinatown to Golden Gate Bakery for my egg tarts. This bakery is closer to my home. I inhale over half of the butter cream bun. It is addicting, moist creamy sweet butter. I know my glucose reading will be up tomorrow. I do not crave sweets that often. Thus, I feel once in a while does not hurt. Life is short, so I might as well enjoy the butter cream bun and egg tart.

Yelp
Napoleon is your standard no frills Chinese bakery located in Oakland Chinatown. There's usually a line of 4-5 people lingering outside, but it goes quickly and it's typically a 10ish minute wait. It's pretty close to Ruby King, another popular local bakery; however, I haven't been there enough times to compare with Napoleon. I haven't ordered a huge variety of items here to get a sense of all their offerings, but have typically stuck with their egg tarts ($1.75 each), pre-packaged almond cookies ($2.50 for a pack of 8 medium ones), some other weird pre-packaged cookies (don't quote me, but I believe it's made of meat) that my mom likes, sticky rice (zhongzi at $4 a pop), and the occasional random baked goods like pineapple buns. The quality of the baked goods is decent given the price point. It's not knock your socks off good, but good enough to keep us coming back for more. The zhongzi is pretty solid and they're not stingy on the ingredients. Just a heads up though - the zhongzi will either be freshly cooked or frozen. They'll tell you that in advance to see if you still want it. We usually take it home to freeze and eat later so it makes no difference to us. Service is average for Chinatown - some ladies are friendly while others will scold customers that are being annoying LOL. As with many places in Chinatown, it's cash only. Forget about getting an itemized receipt. The last time we asked for one, they simply printed out a paper receipt with just the total amount paid, no itemization. So folks, do the math quickly in your head before paying so you know whether you're being charged the correct amount. Street parking only - during peak times, you may need to circle around quite a bit before being able to snag a spot. Overall, this is a popular bakery spot that locals go to that also happens to sell sticky rice. Will be back.

Yelp
Affordable pastries and open early. What can you not love about this place? It is cash only, however if you are a Chase member, there's an ATM machine right across the street. The pastries are fresh and you can smell it through the box. I got the pork buns and pastry buns. I ordered about 19 pastries for about $21. Bang for your buck.

Yelp
Simple and no frills, bring cash and patience if the line is long. My go to is the 6 mini pineapple buns for $4! You can't beat that! It's a very local feel type bakery with middle aged women hustling about , just know what you want and be quick.

Yelp
Go to bakery in Oakland Chinatown! Most days there's a line out the door so come early. I normally go for their eggtarts or their mini pineapple buns with pork. They had an assortment of mooncakes during the weeks leading up to the mid-autumn festival this year. They have unique flavors outside of the normal lotus ones. I really liked the black sesame mooncake! It wasn't too sweet and was flavorful. Cash only. Street parking or garage parking only.
google avatar

Yelp
Simple and yet the best Chinese bakery in town. They do not sell dim sum but you can get some from a few doors down. Napoleon is a stable amongst the Chinatown community, serving freshly baked Chinese items for breakfast, dessert and snacks. The baked items are incredibly cheap and you can fill up a box (over $10) with their Pineapple bun/char soy bun, wife cakes (my dads all time favorite), egg tarts, cake rolls and much more. It's a huge plus if you can speak Cantonese/mandarin. Service is quick so don't mind the line. There's no indoor dining. BRING CASH.
google avatar

Yelp
Cake and bake goods are always simple and great here. Tip, bring cash and come early or slim pickings. The lines do get long, but usually, they move fast.

Yelp
The quality of pastries you get for what you pay - I honestly can't think of a food place with better value. A loaded pink box will probably set you back ~$20 ($17 this week for 10 mini pineapple buns, half dozen egg tarts, and two mini cakes 蛋糕仔). The "mini" stuff is not really mini and the perfect portion with a cup of coffee. I was at golden gate bakery in sf a couple of weeks ago. I think their custard was better but surprisingly having gone to napoleon this week so soon after, i thought napoleon's crust was better and overall would say napoleon slightly edged them out. Cash only. The space is small so you often see a line outside but it moves fast. Since the pandemic, the staff get the pastries and box them all for you. Customer service is...minimalist? They get the job done. No complaints here.

Yelp
Good Chinese bakery with great prices if you come in the afternoon. I often see a line going out the door when I walk by Napolean, so one day I decided to see what the fuss was all about. It's a tiny store for takeout only, I'd say 2-3 people could comfortable stand in front of the display and order but that's it. Because I came a bit later, around 4:30 pm on a weekday, most of their items were already sold out, including egg tarts. Pickings were slim, but I picked up two mini pineapple bins with custard filling at an incredible price of 2 for $1. I ate them immediately upon getting home, and while I found them a bit hard (maybe they had been sitting out for a while?), you can't beat the value!

Alan P.

Yelp
Be prepared to line up on weekend. $2 for FIVE small pineapple buns, what a bargain! Ca$h only.

Yelp
Just linking all my pictures since my last review on 9/17/21. As you can see, we come here for all our custard pies. Copy and Pasted from 9/17/21 Review, with a few updates: Wow 5 stars for being the best hustle ever!!!!!! What an experience, it really brought back memories from my childhood in SF Chinatown. When I got here, there were approximately 10 people inside. Because there was a sign near the front door that said 4 people only, I waited patiently outside. There were 4 employees at the counter - Yeah!! So I was thinking that this will go by fast..... As I was standing outside, which of course seemed like forever, another customer from behind pushed me out of the way to enter. I said "Oh hell no!!" So I made my way in and stood in the back. Then I realized although there were 4 employees at the counter, but only 1 of them was actually working. Then I saw that there was NO line and the person who shouted the loudest and pushed the hardest (to the front counter) got served next. The grandma next to me waved her $50 bill and placed her order from the back of the shop and I died laughing inside my head. I finally made my way to the front and placed my order - 4 Egg Tarts please. The lady said, "Oh your next?" Ummm, I have been standing here for like 5 minutes, so yes I am next. She says "no more Egg Tarts, you want Po Tarts?" I asked, "what is the difference?" Her reply was, "50 cents." Well I actually meant was what is the difference between an Egg Tart versus a Po Tart? Doesn't matter, I need to get this for my younger daughter, so okay, 4 Po Tarts please. She said, "If you buy 1 more then I will throw in this beautiful pink box." I said, "sure, 5 Po tarts please." To be safe, I whipped out a $20 knowing that it would cover it. So there would not be any more back and forth. Quality/Quantity - Well the Po Tarts were very good.

Yelp
Just tried the mooncakes with my family as part of our Mid-Autumn Festival celebration and they tasted like the ones from the now shuttered SF location. We'll be back to buy mooncakes next year!

Yelp
This is always my favorite bakery when I stop by Oakland Chinatown, love their 蛋糕仔 (tan-kou-cai), mini BBQ pork bun, mushroom chicken bun and many more. If for the bakery items itself, I will give a 5-stars, however 2 stars taken down due to we are no longer able to pick up the buns ourselves on a tray like pre-covid, they still have COVID restrictions and we have to wait in line and decide at once the items we want (in a crowded 3 rows of display shelf) when we enter the shop. It's so stressful and they lose their patience easily. The line is long because it's so hard to make a quick decision and the whole process is not efficient. I shall be back but definitely not during weekends as the line is long and move slowly.
google avatar

Yelp
I love picking up a few baos when I stop by Chinatown. Typically the line is a bit long but it moves fast if people don't mosey and know what they want. The service is your typically asian bakery. They are Chinese mom's working low paying jobs, so please be patient. They are grabbing your baos, accepting your payment and boxing up your baos. The ambiance is a bit scattered but it is what a typical Chinese bakery looks like. If it was pretty and aesthetic, you would not be getting authentic baos. My favorite is the mini pineapple pork buns. They are such a good deal as 3 is for $1.50 or so. My husband's favorite is the hot dog bun and egg tart.
google avatar

Yelp
Our food mission today was baked pork buns. Tried looking up the same name but in SF, seems that they closed down and reopened under a new brand. Went with the same namesake- the plus was not driving all the way to the city! Long line out the door. The wait wasn't too bad on a Sunday at 1:00pm. The store is very small with available items on display. The servers don't speak much English, but I was able to point at items and throw up fingers for the quantities I needed. The prices are not as low as the former and now SF location- but taste the same, minus the gas, toll and parking. They ran out of the regular sized pork buns to the customer in front of me- but, thankfully they also had smaller pork buns sold in 3's. Didn't feel so guilty devouring two of them! Also got hot dog scallion buns and a cream bun. The family loved them- mission accomplished!

Yelp
Napoleon is located in the heart of Oakland Chinatown for many years. Parking is always hit or miss, as everyone is double parked. My family always comes here out of convenience and I always dread coming here because of always getting pushed, stepped on, or trampled over. I usually go inside with my grandma because I do not want people to hurt her. It is always hectic inside, everyone is always pushing and shoving to get inside / to the front counter to be helped, as well as always yelling over everyone to be heard. Most of the prices for the bakery items has increased, while the quality is either the same or has decreased in quality. Also, it is cash only, so be prepared. Overall, I would only come here with my family out of convenience.

Yelp
This is a belated review for a birthday cake that I custom ordered for my partner. I called to place the order for a mango mousse 8 inch cake, requesting a custom message of "Happy Birthday Nat". They asked me what colors I wanted for the frosting, so I picked blue and white. The cake was ready for the time I had requested for pickup, there were a few people ahead of me at the bakery at the time (which is typical since they usually seem to receive a steady flow of business). It came with nice fresh fruit including strawberries and melons. I would say it's pretty good quality if you're looking for a traditional Chinese fruit cake. It was $28 which I paid in cash at the time, which was one of the cheapest I could find in the area after having shopped around at the other local Chinatown bakeries.
google avatar

Charmaine N.

Yelp
Efficient ordering system, cash only. We're from out of town and went with the recommendations of the person in front of us. Egg custard tarts, cupcake bread and taro buns. All were fantastic. The bun part of the taro bun was better than the taro itself.
google avatar

Binh T.

Yelp
Wow I was amazed how fluffy, moist and fresh this cake was. It was a last minute birthday cake. Nice surprise with the mango cream on top. Will definitely return to try other cakes.

Yelp
Cheap and fresh Asian pastry all day. The ladies can be rude sometime but they are very efficient. Get the line moving fast. It's cash only so don't show up without bringing cash. I love their egg tart , and pineapple buns with bbq pork.
google avatar

Inverleith F.

Yelp
Every time I am in Oakland, Napoleon is a required stop. My latest craving from here is the wife cookie or loh por beng. The cookie has layers of flakey pastry and the filling has chunks of melon which is what I am looking for. All these years of coming here and I finally noticed that the tray for these was always empty in the afternoon. This means it's fresh and a hot item. I'm very pleased with this pastry and suggest that folks give it a try.
google avatar

Yelp
This cash-only Chinese bakery is ALWAYS packed. Doesn't seem to matter what day of the week nor time if the day, there are always people clamoring to purchase baked goods from here. Most recently, I paid $1.75 for an egg tart $1.50 for a red bean moon cake Paid total: $3.25 Not bad! A sweet deal to satiate my sweet tooth with Chinese baked goods AND support a small Chinatown business.
google avatar

Jean T.

Yelp
Stopped by while visiting the area because I was in the mood for some pastries and they're just good to have in case you need a snack through out your visit to Oakland. The establishment is cash only. Buns were pretty good, would return if I was back in the area.

Yelp
I didn't know the Napoleon Super Bakery in SF Chinatown recently closed, so now I have all the more reason to come over here for their delectable baked goods. Same as its departed Stockton Street counterpart, it is so popular the super compact space is in a constant state of chaos. The variety of pastries was impressive, but I didn't have a clue what most of them were. It's not the Sheng Kee type of bakery where everything is identified and clearly labeled, and you can pick what you want with your own tongs and place them on your own tray. No, any placard I saw next to a baked good was either in Chinese or illegible if there was any card at all. I had to guess and point at what looked good since I didn't speak Cantonese. I was bummed that they just run out of egg custard tarts. But hey, siince four pastries cost only $7.25, I felt the risk seemed minimal on getting a bad one. I was right. My first picks were the soft and sugary Butter Cream and the surprisingly tall and soft Cupcake (photo: https://bit.ly/40FuDy3). Then I went for the overly dense Coconut Tart and what I think was mashed taro baked in a pastry eggshell (photo: https://bit.ly/413SR4S). It was pretty good. BAKED GOODS - 4 stars...mostly fluffy pastries that go through the palate and straight to the thighs AMBIANCE - 3 stars...well... SERVICE - 3.5 stars...nice but a bit like talking to a cyclone TOTAL - 4 stars...hit the spot for a bargain price RELATED - Exploring Oakland? Yelp
Honestly, I had forgotten/underestimated what a great bakery this is and upon eating my pastries was IMMEDIATELY regretful that I hadn't bought more. Ignoring the run down ambiance, this is still a fantastic bakery. We came on a Saturday afternoon and there was only a minimal line so we were served very quickly. Loading up a pink box with various buns (especially the pineapple buns) and egg tarts was only $18. The egg tarts was perfect sweetness/custardy-ness/flakey-ness. The pineapple buns were so delicious. Ugggggh wish I had bought more. Cash only!
google avatar

Karena K.

Yelp
There is always a line out the door since the inside is small, which is a good sign since that means people are willing to wait! I have been going here for years any time I am in the area. They offer a variety of yummy pastries to choose from. Parking can be tricky since it is located in Chinatown, but you can park somewhere far away and just walk.
google avatar

Anna H.

Yelp
This bakery has all the OG Cantonese baked goods you can think of. Bo lo bao, Cha siu bao, Dan tat, po tat, everything. The prices are reasonable as well but man those Cha siu bo lo baos (Cha siu pineapple buns) were one of the best I've had in California! The breading of the bao is so soft and has a great tangzhong texture, the Cha siu could have been filled a bit more but I could tell they don't use food coloring on their Cha siu which is a plus. They only take cash and for purchases under $10, they will charge $.50 per plastic bag. Either way, we spent way over that limit and got some yummy bakeries. Highly recommend this bakery for all your Chinese baked food cravings. Street parking only and we noticed a queue started happening a bit after 11am
google avatar

Nancy P.

Yelp
Best mooncakes! They have a wide variety and all very fresh. We like the Lotus seed with double egg yolks. They also have red bean, green tea, sesame, green bean, lotus seed with coconut, durian, and nixed nuts! Small tiny ones are available too. If you purchase 4 of the same kind, they provide a nice tin. While they sell mooncakes year round, the wide variety is only available during autumn. There's usually a line but it moves quickly.
google avatar

Patricia T.

Yelp
Wow, this place is so good. Napoleon Super Bakery came highly recommended so I had to check them out. I'm Chinese so I do have a high bar for Chinese pastries, and let me tell you that this is the good good. Egg custard in the egg tarts is perfectly soft but structured, flavorful...doesn't crumble with each bite...chef's kiss. Crust is crumbly and flaky in all the right ways. Perfect. The taro bun was fabulous. The crust was so flavorful and crumbly, and it gave this incredible sensation of biting into the bun. There was also enough crust to make every bite crusty, which I find that many other Chinese bakeries are not able to nail. There were little chunks of taro in the filling so it was a varied texture, so delicious and so so fresh. It was very easy to wait in line, get my pastries, and pay with cash. The folks here speak Mandarin so that's helpful -- that said if you are English-only I think pointing to your pastries would do the trick (they're in a glass case so that should work great). Overall, this is some fire pastry. I am thorougly impressed -- despite the unassuming storefront this really is some Chinese pastry mastery. Give it a try if you are in the area! (but don't go when I go so that I don't have to wait in line)
google avatar

Lillian B.

Yelp
OG Bay Area bakery in Oakland's Chinatown. Worth the wait! The line goes much faster than you'd think but be ready when its your turn. Bring cash and a mask to wear. Everything is fresh, delicious, and affordable! These people mean business and their little pastry shop is super underrated. Definitely worth stopping. Bring $10 and I promise you will leave with a big smile on your face. Egg custard tart (the crust is top notch) Curry beef (corn and ground beef) Cocktail bun (butter and sugar) Butter cream (butter and sugar)

Felix D.

Yelp
BRING CASH! We always stop by Napoleon for pastries and egg tarts. I don't have any photos of the pastries but take a look at the durian cake. This is a childhood favorite of mine. Price for durian cake currently is around $50-$60 for a medium size cake. Support this local Chinatown bakery!

Jason H.

Yelp
I came around 9am and there were only a few people inside. No line outside which gave me time to look around to see what they sell. I ended up getting 4 Cocktail buns $3.50, 6 Mini bbq buns $3.50, 1 Butter cream bun $1.50 and 5 Mini pineapple buns $2. My total was just $10.50 for everything. Make sure you bring cash because this place is cash only. The cocktail buns were my favorite and tasted really fresh and warm since they had just come out of the oven. I loved the coconut filling and I thought it was great value at less than $1 for one but you need to buy 4 to get the $3.50 price or you can buy 1 for $1. The rest of the buns tasted good but they were starting to turn cold and the top of the mini pineapple buns were already hard. I think the issue is that once they take the buns out of the oven, they don't have anywhere else to put them in to keep them warm. I would recommend going early in the morning if it's your first time coming here. If you come late morning or afternoon, you will be waiting in line. The one thing I really don't like is that they don't have a menu anywhere that list what they sell and prices. The only way to see this is by going inside and looking at the tags behind their glass counter where they display their baked goods. Unfortunately with a line of people inside, they will be blocking your view and there isn't a lot of room to maneuver around in this small location. Service is quick if you speak Chinese since all the workers also speak Chinese. I don't think there's really a language barrier. Just do what I did and say the English name of the item you want while pointing at that item and using your fingers to show how many you want. I think the workers hear the English name of their bakery goods on a regular basis that they know what you are referring to and most of them have probably worked here for a while.

Yelp

Yelp
We visited on a busy Saturday afternoon while the Chinatown Streetfest was taking place. It's cash only which luckily we knew in advance. The wait was out the door but only about was maybe 15 minutes. There are a handful of people behind the counter assisting with grabbing the items you select. We don't speak the language, but luckily we were able to communicate with hand signs and pointing. Most signs inside are also in English with prices which helped a lot. Everything we got was delicious (beef curry pastry, egg tarts, po tart, pork crisp bun, mushroom chicken buns (2) scallion and ham bun, mini pork buns (3) hotdog bread). The only minor downside eas a coul of the items were really bready like the pork buns (3 for $1.75) were mostly bread and not a lot of filling. Still a great deal for the fresh bread. Everything came out to $15.25.

Yelp
I love Napoleon Super Bakery for their Portuguese Tarts. It's not the same as the Pastel de Nata from Lisbon Portugal, but it's the best out of the ones I had here in San Francisco. There's usually a line outside the bakery. There's only a few people that can be served inside the bakery since it is small, and usually people have a family member with them when buying baked goods. The sales people don't speak English so pointing what you want and they can understand how many you want. I had several of the vendors type in a calculator the total of you baked goods. I also get a cup cake that is soft and moist.

Yelp
Their cream fruits cake is the best. Good price and good quality! But the cake decoration is old fashioned. They upgraded their cake box. Service is ok.

Yelp
I've been coming here since I was so young omg. I'm so glad after all this time it's still opened and business continues to boom . I love coming here and grabbing anything and everything for my mom and I . The price is something you can't complain about either .

Yelp
Auntie swears by this place that she made me drive an hour+ to get the goods. They're good for sure. I should have definitely picked up their other goodies.

Yelp
I picked up 10 egg tarts, 8 bbq pork buns, and 5 mini bolo bao/pineapple buns for a friend's gathering on Sunday. I went around noon and there was no line. The egg tarts are now $1.75 each, bbq buns $1.60, and mini bolo baos are 5/$2. Unfortunately the egg tarts were really disappointing. While they were warm when I grabbed them, they were not dense/rich in flavor and tasted watered down/sugary. I used to think Napoleon had the best egg tarts in Oakland Chinatown but I don't think so anymore. The bbq pork buns were also disappointing as they were 90% bread and 10% meat.

Yelp
A CASH ONLY BAKERY! At 1:30pm there was still a line of people eager to get their Chinese pastries, which was a good sign. The only bad thing is the number of violations (14), but yet this doesn't stop people from patronizing this establishment. I guess what people don't know won't hurt them & thus far, our family hasn't gotten sick so maybe we have a high tolerance. Orders: Egg Tart- light & flaky crust with a generous egg filling that isn't overly sweet. Everyone's favorite & a list order. Curry Beef - good amount of filling with enough curry flavor to satisfy. Seasonal Mooncake Festival (August) Mini Lotus Mooncakes w/o egg yolk- the outer shell was a little thicker than I prefer but the lotus filling was a nice smooth texture. Mini Redbean Mooncake w/o yolk- again the outer shell wasn't my favorite but the red bean really made me smile from ear to ear. Selection is big, but can dwindle if you come any later than 3pm, so make sure you get there early.

Yelp
I would give this place a 0 if I can! First of all, this place has terrible customer service. The ladies are so rude and seem so angry for no reason! Second, their buns aren't even as good as what I thought. The buns are hard and dry. Lastly, I don't even know why there is a long line. Not sure what the hype is about, but really disappointed in my entire experience here. Do not recommend. Definitely not coming back!

Yelp
Egg tarts are great, and everything is so affordable and the selections are amazing. Service is great if you speak the language; might seem a bit quick and rushed if you don't speak Cantonese or Mandarin but they get the job done (just my observation from seeing non-Chinese folks in there). I've purchased many items from here to share with friends and they all loved it. Mini pineapple buns are wonderful snacks for little ones and adults as well. Cash only so that's the downside; I always had to make sure to swing by an ATM before heading my there it often makes me anxious carrying cash with me in Oakland nowadays but maybe that's just me.

Yelp
I tried this place first time. I had bad stomach ache after eating the pork bun and egg tart. I don't know it was their food or just a bad day for me. This place is not clean. Think before you go.

Yelp
The mini hot dogs/regular sized hot dogs are so good. The mini one's are especially really cute. My family loves getting the egg tarts which have the perfect sweetness and the crust is flakey, so appreciate every bite. We went around 9am and there was a couple people, not too busy. Service was great and quick, 11/10 recommend this place :)

Yelp
This place is my absolute favorite place for egg tarts! You can get the regular dan tat (egg tart) for $1.50 each or the Portuguese style for $2.00 each. Portuguese egg tarts have cream in them that make them so much richer. You can not go wrong with either. If anything I recommend you get at least 2 of each! The egg tarts are about the diameter of my palm, and encased in the flakiest, buttery crust. I love that they serve them warm! This is everyone's go to favorite here and it isn't surprising to see people order boxes and boxes of them to go. They do require masks inside, and they only allow 4 customers in at once. You kinda just shuffle along in line and make your way in once you see there's room. It's a small shop and they have 2 glass cases. Everything is labeled fairly clearly, which is nice. I think most of the bigger buns (beef curry, ham and corn, etc) were about $1.25-$1.50 each but they also sell mini buns! The mini bbq pork buns were 3 for $1.50 and the mini pineapple buns were 5 for $2.00! I think these are a good deal especially if you don't want a full size bun. I love their pineapple buns, the top crust is buttery and sweet and so good when warm. They sell these plain or with custard. I got mini custard pineapple buns that were so cute and yummy however I do wish there was more custard inside. It was a fairly thin amount. I wouldn't mind paying more for more stuffing! I got a huge assortment of buns and eggtarts but everything came out to only $22! I was shocked. I love that they are careful with how they package your goods. They make sure to separate the buns from the egg tarts which I truly appreciate. Whenever I stop by Chinatown, this is a must for me. It seems like they're churning out baked goods all day, but keep in mind they do close at 3 PM, as do most places in this area now. CASH ONLY!!

Yelp
I came in to get a few pastries for my coworkers and I was passed up several times because of the language barrier. But they were so good that I don't mind. I'll definitely be back.
