Napoleone's Pizza House

Delicious food, friendly service, and clean. We had a large group and ordered salads, wings, spaghetti, and pizzas. They did a great job serving fresh food in a timely manner. Didn't give a fifth star because I found the pizza salty for my taste despite me being a salt lover. I will go back and see if it was the day or just their recipe. Still enjoyable pizza and everything else was five stars!!!

Perfect place for Italian food! Coming from Chicago to be impressed by pizza is a mission - and man is this pizza good! The cheesy bread was perfect as was the lasagna. Shrimp scampi was good but a bit on the lemony side.

Do you love cheese? You will love this pizza. Cool little spot lots of pastas and side dishes. Wings were good. Pizza was great. Lots of cheese. Solid crust. It came out how and looked a little floppy but the crust held up with a good crunch.

Best pizza in the south bay, use to come here as a kid, now I am bringing my own son here now. Alot of happy memories, still keeping it original. The chicken parmesan is a must have. They are not shy at all with the meat on the sandwiches, I believe i had the Sicilian sandwich. Love it!

Usually one of my favorite Italian dishes. Linguine with clams. My son had the lasagna. And this place did not do it justice. Was happy with the service. My son also did not care for his dinner. Had this place for lunch one day and was good. But will probably not be coming back.

What a fun place! The service was fabulous by our server Braydon! Loved the food too! Was able to reserve a table for my Family!

Maybe I came in at a weird time, but I wasn’t super impressed by the food or service here. The pizza was decent, though the crust left something to be desired. The salad was a bit overpriced for what it was. My favorite item was the carrot cake. The service was spotty and the waitress was absent for long periods of time even though there weren’t that many people in. That said, the cashier was really nice and helpful. Overall it was a fairly mediocre experience. There are a lot of other pizza places I’d recommend over this spot: Tribute, Bronx, Lefty’s, and Regents are all places I prefer. Again, maybe it was an off day. I’d recommend going elsewhere for a great pizza and experience, however.

Went with 3 other coworkers who exclaimed it was the best place they had during our stay in San Diego (came all the way from Maine). I am inclined to agree that the service was friendly and the food was very well done. The crust is crispy, with the toppings being on top and under the cheese. Reasonable price made it a highlight during our time in San Diego. After trying out multiple different restaurants of various cuisines, I would love to come back here when I visit San Diego again.

It's honestly a great experience pizza was great And the service was excellent have no complaints. The environment was really relaxing. The only thing coming here is having at least an hour and a half free

Hyped this place up to family visiting from out of state. Dense flat salty crust and the Italian sausage was so dry it tasted like ground beef. Mediocre at best. Disappointed I spent 56 bucks on two large pizzas. Should have gone to Costco.

Went here for a last minute birthday dinner for my mom-in-law. They easily accommodated a same day reservation for about 9 adults, and 5 kids. The restaurant was fairly empty for a Friday night around 6:30PM. Our waiters were extremely patient with our rather large and slightly rowdy family. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. Even the kids' mac and cheese. We had several pastas, a couple pizzas, and the cheese bread. All were good, and for a decent price considering how much we'd ordered. I definitely would come here again, especially for a large group setting.

Fair prices on lunch specials. People around me seemed to really be enjoying their meals. My Chicken Parm was decent- different than most I've had. Didn't seem to have much breading or cheese. The minestrone soup was good. Garlic bread a little greasy. I think I should have tried the pizza, which it seems they are known for. Restaurant & bathrooms were very clean. Easy parking on the side.

First off, 2nd time here and Halley (our server) was awesome. She's totally focused on providing customer service. First time, 3 people. Today - 45 people for a "celebration of life" party. Halley did it all by setup & serving! Of course there the cooks behind the scene. But Halley was constantly moving about making sure everyone was clearly taken care of with drinks & food. ALL WITH A LARGE SMILE ON HER FACE! Start to finish - a pure gem of an employee they have in her.

Pizza is excellent still. Have seen an increase in prices, but the most off putting thing is we had a 20% service charge on our bill that no one saw advertised anywhere. And it seemed like they were trying to slip it by because then there was a tip line after that as if the automatic 20% wasn't enough. Service wasn't good enough for 20%. Specifically asked waitress for a box and she said ok and never came back with one. After like 15 minutes we flagged her down and she asked if we were doing ok, we asked for a box again and it seemed like she didn't actually realize we had asked for a box earlier.

This is my families favorite!!! We love getting the pizza and wings. The sandwiches and salads are also amazing.

I saw this spot on Yelp and didn't realize it was literally right next to the Market on 8th. I was getting some drinks at Barkada taproom and got hungry. Albeit Pizza Kaiju was right there too I wanted to try something different. Yelp did not fail me. I ordered ahead and picked up a pepperoni pizza. Grabbed it on the way to my car and went home and ate half of it. Lots of cheese and the pizza was hot and tasty. I'd definitely go back here to try another pizza in the future.

My husband and I were passing through National City last week and decided to give this place a try based on reviews I had seen previously. We were greeted as soon as we entered and sat in a booth. Our server, a nice young man whose name I failed to get, came to our table immediately, gave us menus and took our drink order. He came back a few minutes later and took our order of a half and half pizza. My husband likes pineapple and onion and I asked for sausage, mushroom and onion on my half. The pizza came in a reasonable amount of time and it was very good. The only reason I deducted one star is because I felt they could have been a bit more generous with the mushrooms. The amount of other toppings was fine. We thank you for a nice meal, Napoleone's!

Extreme food poisoning. Fever of 104 degrees with extreme stomach pain and diarrhea with headaches never coming here again. Traumatizing experience. This is day 4 with these symptoms fever went away but everything else is still here strong.

I was here this past weekend with the family. It had been roughly 8-9 years since I was here. I heard that ownership has made some changes so decided to return. LET ME TELL YOU! First thing I noticed was the dining room. Old decor and tables have been replaced. The vibe walking in here was good. Plenty of owner and family photos adorn the walls. A lot of memories hang on these walls. Now to the food. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza, a child's spaghetti, a side of garlic bread and a small order of chicken wings with their buffalo sauce. BOOM! I was floored by the taste and texture of the wings. Some of the best wings I've had in a while. They had the right amount of heat and the sauce was just right. Garlic bread was tasty. Plenty of garlic sauce/butter smeared all over. The kid's spaghetti had a perfect sauce that was not sweet. The pizza was delicious! The aroma of the cheese just screamed quality! From the crust to the pepperoni, it was simply good. Thank you Mo for our delicious meal! This is a must try Place if you haven't been here.

Pizza was very good! It's delicious and it's different they put the mushrooms pepperoni under the cheese and then put the Italian sausage on the top of the cheese .

Sicilian subs $17 plus tax you guys need to bring down prices subs not even Jersey Mikes charges that much for a giant sub

Food was good. Margareta pizza was my favorite. Place is clean and the remodel makes the place seem bigger. Truly enjoyed the service. Our server was really nice and helpful. A nice family place. Restrooms are nice and clean but I did not see any toilet liners

Been here a few times, the pizza is well made and tasty. My favorite is the lunch chicken Parmesan highly recommend it.

I was surprised to see so many olives on my order of veggie pizza. It was like if it olived cats and dogs. Olives were poured. Well I'm not new to pizzas but to Italian pizzas for sure. I had to remove most of them otherwise taste was bitter to every bite. Other than that it was ok with just ok crust and cheese. Part of the pizza's back was stuck to the box. The amount of the rest of couple of vegetable toppings was not much, and I'll blame olives.

Had this for delivery so cannot speak to the actual restaurant. However, my boyfriend and I can never agree on pizza, usually he likes it and I don't, or I like it and he doesn't. This is the first time we agreed we both did not like it one bit. Lacked flavor, and the crust was just bad. My sister in law took a bite, said "this crust tastes like old cardboard" and are the cheese which still want good. My parents were at least impressed by how many pepperonis were on the pizza!

Came in for dinner with the family, service was ok. Food not my favorite. Got the chicken Parmesan. Plate was huge! Was expecting it to taste as good as it looked. Chicken was just a piece of boiled chicken with a whole bunch of sauce on top and tasted fey and chewy in by opinion the chicken is what makes this dish and in this case it's what made it not so good. Didn't eat more than a few bites. This is usually my favorite Pasta dish. As for me I won't be coming here for my next pasta craving. My kids pizza on the other hand was really good.

Wow! I challenge anyone who says there is a better pizza joint anywhere in San Diego to try this place first! We ordered a couple of different types of pizzas. When was the Hawaiian, which, I like, even though I don't think it's a good measure of a true Italian pizza house. This Hawaiian pizza was the best I've ever had. However, it was something along the lines of a "meat, lovers" pizza. Not sure if that's what it was called. But oh my goodness! Perfect from the first bite! The cheese. The bread. The meats. The sauce. Harmonizing perfectly! One warning; you will eat more than you should! I ordered the barbecue wings as well. They were far, far better than any wings I've had at many other Italian joints. Great atmosphere, terrific service, and an absolute must for anyone who covets real pizza.

Great variety of food, we were a group of 10 and we got a family package and so was great,'include 2 pizzas, wings, spaghetti and garlic bread and the portions were very good big plates The food was so good and great taste Service so good too, they have sodas and beer Great place to be with friends and family

My server Madison was incredible. She was so friendly and attentive and I will definitely be returning to see her again!

Pizza and service is always amazing, i recommend getting the Caesar Salad and a Chicken Alfredo

Almost came here 2 weeks ago but changed our minds. We have an all new thought about this restaurant now and taste. Sad to say me and lotsa my friends have to stop eating here. The prices we noticed jumped WAYYY TOO HIGH. I dont mind some restaurants raising prices a little cuza rising costs, but these are kinda rediculous here, it feels actually rude. I hope this restaurant takes this review seriously cuz we will truly miss this restaurant.

Ordered through Uber eats guy took off with my food. Called the pizza place and they told me I'm the second person it's happen to today. Told me to call Uber eats. Spoke with the manager he told me the same thing. Won't use Uber eats or eat here. Taking a lift and going to another pizza place

Family Owned and Operated. Staff was extremely friendly. Food is prepared and made within a timely manner and is super delicious! My family and I like to order here about once per month and will keep it coming.

I'm from national city but this was my very first time trying this place out! i have to say the pizza is delicious 10/10. The wings are very tasty & the house buffalo sauce is on point. i'm not usually a big fan of pizza crust but i actually ate the crust this time. I also i didn't feel bloated or gross after eating here because usually that's how i feel from most pizza spots. Definitely felt fresh! The inside of the restaurant was very clean. Staff was nice. The prices are on the higher end but felt worth it.

The pizza in all of SanDiego!!! The staff are very welcoming. You must try the garlic bread.

Been going her for over 30 years. The food is still just as good. I bring my family now and they love it. We moved further away so it is always a treat to stop in. Service was excellent, very friendly and inviting. I love the updates to the place while keeping their signature style. My 9 year old mentioned the updated bathrooms , nice work. Even she was impressed. We arrived close to closing time, and they allowed us to stay. We appreciated it as we had not realized the time when we arrived. They did not make us feel rushed, although we did try to eat our food fast. The food: I prefer eating the pizza on site. It is so good straight out the oven. The wings here are a must! Try them and you won't be disappointed. My family also enjoyed the minestrone soup. They even looked forward to taking the leftovers in their lunch at school the next day. Thanks Napoleones! Always nostalgic for me to visit and now bringing my children to enjoy your food.

Service was slow again. They seem to be lacking employees. The reason why I'm giving this place 1 star is they had a 20% service charge on the bill. Is 20% the norm for a party of 6? I was supposed to feel better about the surcharge when the server told me I didn't need to leave a tip anymore cause it was included.... I would've easily left 15% and was planning to leave 18% because I know it's tough for restaurants to find staff. However the service didn't merit 20%. And to have it added as a service charge without prior warning on the menu or front door, looks like a rip off to me. Borderline illegal in my opinion. I was celebrating my daughter so didn't want to make a huge deal or ask for it to removed. Truly disappointed.

I love this place! It's been around for a while & very community, family-friendly place. Service is always great & the food excellent. It's a hometown feel - locals frequent this place which brings a special feeling every time I go. Love it!

I've eaten here since my activity days going back to 2011. Food is very very good. Service is great and always friendly. Just a great place to eat and talk with friends and family.

Just had to leave after over an hour of waiting and wasting my whole lunch and getting no food. It took over 40 minutes just to get a drink. We never got silverware or menus. There was zero communication on the food. I told the server we only had an hour lunch but he seemed overworked and overwhelmed. They only had one server with a restaurant full of people. We had to cancel because our lunch was over and we did not get to eat. They could of at least brought us our salads and soups while we were waiting. I keep trying to give them chances because I've bern coming here for so many years but this was the last chance.

This pizza house has been around for a long time and is a huge staple in the National City community! I believe the son's took over the business from their father and the taste is still as amazing since I was a kid. I like to order the pizza here, a small usually fills me up and leaves me satisfied. Their lasagna is good as well as their spaghetti. Definitely a good place to take the family or on a date. Fast service and friendly, usually I do take out :)

Pizza is gooey greasy and so delicious!! Been coming here for years and it's always yummy. Same cook in there usually as well. Their Prices went up very recently and the ONLY thing that has kept me away lately is the fact that I saw a mortuary next door- I thought about water source and haven't been back since

First time, ordered it over the phone to go and it would be 20 minutes or so. Got a large pepperoni pizza and a Sicilian sandwich. SO GOOD. We got there 20 mins later and they just finished cutting our food! Yum. The pizza was delicious, flavorful crust and sauce. Lots of good cheese and the pepperoni were quality. The sandwich was a perfect Italian sandwich! Would go back again. Looked like a nice place to eat there too

You have got to give this place a try! This is literally the best pizza I've had in SD & I don't even like pizza. Literally, hot & fresh. The crust is buttery and crispy and cheese is so good. I mean really, you know pizza is good when it warms up and taste just as great if not better! The wings were also pretty bomb. We ordered directly from the restaurant using their website via ChowNow. The food was ready at the pick up time scheduled and we ordered on Super Bowl Sunday. Since then, we've gone back & will continue to support this yummy local business. Give it a try, I promise you won't be disappointed!

Such rude service. We had inexperienced teenagers taking our order and they had no professionalism. Snippy, confused, forgetful kids are what Napoleons Pizza hires. We kept asking for refills and napkins and utensils 3 times. Our waitress seemed annoyed and gave attitude as if WE were being difficult! It was almost like when you tell your teenager to go clean their room and they get upset like "I don't have to listen to you!" THAT attitude is what that pissy faced waitress gave us all night. It was so uncomfortable and uncalled for. The food is decent but it's a shame that Napoleon's will lose a lot of business because of their incompetent servers.

Classic spot. I wish I could have visited back in the Mile of Bars days. I made the pilgrimage here solely because of the Tom Waits song. Tom himself is immortalized in a mural on the wall and a painting above the jukebox. Our server Celeste was awesome. And the pizza was really good!

A very delicious pizza pie. It's the missing link between a Pan pizza and New york style pizza (respectfully). The pizza pies are thin but the toppings are hearty and fresh. The pizza pie came out steaming. I have had authentic pizza in Sigonella Italy and the pizza there blows away other pizzas like Domino's and Pizza Hut. I can truly say the same thing about Napoleones Pizza.

Terrible!!!! Is this place run by teenagers???? Came in for pizza, salad and beer. Food was good, can't deny that. Service was awful. The entire staff was so young, I'm guessing the owners kids? On their phones, forgetful, rude. Will never come back.

Stopped by for lunch, ordered small peperroni pizza and a soft drink. The service was not very good and place was not busy. Waiters arguing. Waiter never asked if I needed anything or offer refill. Pizza in my opinion is pretty average. Bill came out 19.71 cents. Pretty pricey for a personal pizza and drink. Crust was like burnt toast and pizza dough super thick. Place looked nice though, but will probably not return. Ten years ago Pizza was great, seems to have gone down since then.
