All of the New Orleans Restaurants and Bars Featured in the New Season of ‘Queer Eye’

"It’s wild to see an empty Napoleon’s Itch in Episode 2, when Brown speaks with Steph at the normally-lively French Quarter gay bar. The pair sit at the glowing bar for an emotional conversation about internalized homophobia, finding welcoming spaces as a queer woman, and her relationship with her brother, with whom Steph then gets to meet with. As a lead-in to the moving segment, viewers also get a shot of a few blocks of Bourbon Street, showing Fat Catz and 24-hour burger and breakfast institution Clover Grill." - Clair Lorell

Google
Bartender from small town in Texas wearing cowboy hat was the reason we came in. He’s so nice and cool. Makes drinks well. Great to talk to. Very intelligent and caring. Wife and I enjoyed chatting with him. We ordered more so we could stay longer and tip higher. Cash only-AtM inside. Small bar but it’s amazing how many fresh ingredients he has at bar. Very pleased with experience.

Google
Shout out to Jared the bartender.. he ran to get bloody Mary mix and then made a 10+ bloody mary!! Cleanest bar, cleanest bathrooms on bourbon st. Always a great bartender. Always great service, places to sit! Great mojitos too!

Amanda

Google
I wish I remembered the name of the bartender! Super handsome guy from Texas. My husband and I stopped in early and came back again. Drinks were great and so was the conversation I would recommend definitely!!

Juan S

Google
We had such a great time here. Marcus makes excellent drinks and we loved the decorations and cleanliness of the place. The holiday warm drinks and the hurricane were our favorites.

Marco Castro

Google
The best place on Bourbon St. to get drinks, have nice a conversation, and get to meet people. Julia, Brian, Jorge, and Mr. Julian were all fantastic people to meet. Napoleon's Itch is definitely the spot to be if you are looking for great drinks and awesome conversations. They truly make you feel at home and care for their customers. If you are ever around the area, definitely swing on by and give them a try. You will absolutely not regret it!! Just make sure to have cash on hand 👍🏼.

Google
Friendly staff, was here during the recent red dress festival and this place made my NOLA experience memorable. I'm a straight male but the bartender welcomed me to NOLA with the best hurricane I've ever had, no doubt. Was sad to see the place mostly empty but I think it may have been due to the time around 10pm. Next time I visit I will stop by and enjoy a few shots with the great EDM they bump.

Google
Truly an EXCELLENT mojito. Just to be “that guy,” I’ve traveled to Hanava for a month and this took me straight back! George is great, his hospitality is warm, sense of humor sharp, engaging service. Do yourself a favor and just come by! Handmade hurricanes far surpass any of the pre-batched cocktails you’ll find on the same block. 🤍

Samantha Martin

Google
Advertised the best mojito on Bourbon Street, but I would like to say it is the best mojito in the United States (at least)!! They have a variety of flavors and are made with fresh ingredients. The bar itself has a super cool vibe and is a great place to hang out. The bar tenders were super friendly!
google avatar

Jared S.

Yelp
OMG!!! Brian is amazing!!! The best Mojito in America. I've been to NOLA 8 times. I feel like the last 7 were wasted!
google avatar

Kiki K.

Yelp
Best Majitos on Bourbon! We had the strawberry.. felt really good afterwards. Highly recommend

Yelp
After not being able to get in anywhere in New Orleans, we stumbled across Napoleons Itch. The bar tender was super friendly and made fantastic drinks! Truly, he is the reason I'm giving this place a 5 star review. I had a hurricane and blueberry mojito, both were delicious! The bar tender even taught us how to slap the mint leaf to release the essential oils. Sure enough, after slapping the leaf, it became very fragrant and added a nice touch to the drinks. The atmosphere was also super fun. They played old school 80's music. Everyone in the bar was signing and dancing along to the music. It was a super fun environment and really fun crowd. I would definitely return if I ever visit New Orleans again. It was overall a great time!

Stormy G.

Yelp
Had such a great time at the Itch. I took my sister for her 21st birthday around the Quarter and our bartender was so great and welcoming. Engaging in conversation and helping the celebration of my sister go noticed. We really enjoyed our experience and they have the BEST MOJITOS IN THE WORLD!

Lisa E.

Yelp
Second time here. Very friendly staff. Cleanest bathrooms I've seen in the French quarter. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
In all honesty, came in here to escape the heat and ended up having a great time, even though it was a short. I had just finished a drink and was sweating my behind off. My group I was with decided that we needed to explore around the area and find some cool spot. That's how we ended up here. When we walked in there weren't very many people inside. But that did not kill the vibe. What we walked into was basically a huge sing-along. When you hear people screaming to ABBA you have to join in. It also didn't help that you got to stand in front of huge fans while you did this. The machines, not people. Sing and dance to your heart's content, everyone who walked in, joined in. I really did enjoy myself. I also enjoyed the name. As pictures suggest, cash only establishment.
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
Well finally tried the supposed 'best mojito on Bourbon Street'. The bar itself was just fine, not crowded at all, and the fans were a welcome addition, as well as the music playing, it was the cost and quality of the drinks. We ordered 1 mojito and 1 blue moon beer...19.00! Holy cow, yes I understand drinks are pricey, but a blue moon beer shouldn't be more than say 5 in a plastic cup, so that would make the mojito 14.00, and it too was in a plastic cup! The mojito itself wasn't great either, I've personally made much better and I stink at making drinks. The whole highlight of this place was the hilariously funny drunk folks stumbling in from time to time dancing to the very funky 70's music playing. My recommendation? Don't get the 'itch' to come to Napoleons Itch, you'll most likely regret it.
google avatar

Brenna P.

Yelp
If you like strong drinks, infused vodka, and clean restrooms, this is for you... located within the NOLA gay bar row, Napoleon's a great stopping spot. Try the Bloody Mary. You won't regret it. I've been here a few times and still haven't had many better bloodys. The vodka they make it with is jalapeño infused. Be prepared to pay with cash and spend a bit of it. This is a great place to stop for a drink, but you must have at least one drink to use the restroom!
google avatar

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place after visiting the voodoo museum! We saw the sign for the best mojitos in town and man we had to try one! My friend got the watermelon and I got the blackberry. Yummm best damn mojito I have ever had ! Wanted to review this place so I know where to go next time for dranks. Only catch is that it's cash only !

lindsey s.

Yelp
This bar has a code on the outside of the door of the restroom--all good, protect your business. Except..after you pay for your drink and get the restroom code, there isn't a lock on the inside of the door. The deadboldt is taped over. So be prepared for someone to walk in on you. And once your done peeing, there is no soap and no paper towels. This is obviously the norm since they have signs telling you to use to the hand sanitizer.

Yelp
Came across this little gem on a busy Friday afternoon. Our group of five was immediately greeted by a very friendly bartender. I can't recall his name but he was South African and so sweet. Two girls in our group were drinking beers in a glass bottle and he was courteous enough to let us know about the no glass law on Bourbon and offered to put them in cups for us. He then gave my sister a band aid when he saw her knee. She had fell a few minutes prior from too many said beers. We were honestly so impressed with how friendly he was that we decided to have a couple of amazing (and very strong) shots. The shot selection was great and prices were reasonable. The place was also extremely clean and music selection was upbeat and not overly loud. I look forward to returning next time I'm in NO!

Yelp
AWESOME! By far our favorite bar on Bourbon! And yes the MOJITOS are the best you will ever have. The pineapple was so fresh and crisp! This place will leave ya begging for more! Thanks to the staff for making it well worth the NOLA trip!
google avatar

Dilyara S.

Yelp
Very friendly staff. We were walking after the Barkus parade trying to find a bathroom for a child. Most places were rudely kicking us out. I didn't expect much from a Bourbon St establishment. They actually walked us in, cleaned the bathroom for a child and were very nice and friendly. As a local, I don't normally go out on Boubon St. But this experience made me want come back.
google avatar

Heather W.

Yelp
These mojito's are the best around! They are made with super fresh ingredients- even hand ground sugar! These are the absolute best. Try the cucumber you won't regret it! One good tip is they're cash only though.
google avatar

Ada C.

Yelp
Definitely a place to visit! Look for Sergio, he is fantastic and makes the best mojito in town!
google avatar

Pantea T.

Yelp
As we were walking down we're hooked by the sign outside advertising for cinnamon toast shots. Yes please! We walked in only to be wowed by their shot collection, paired with jams playing, and incredible service. Truly get a local feel at the bar. Highly recommend the Pancake Breakfast shot....yes it actually takes like pancakes! They White TicTac and Skittles shots also come highly recommend. Prices are more than reasonable. Cash only but there is an ATM on site. Would highly again and come back again!

Yelp
THE BEST REGULAR & FRESH FRUIT MOJITOS I HAVE EVER HAD! Not to mention a fantastic crew of people who work there. Shout out to Meeko! Drinks are made to order not a mix & well worth the $$ which is hard to find on Bourbon street. Took a group of 10 ladies down there this spring & we ended up there all 3 nights, Say hello to Chuck (cowboy hat) & Julian his super hot partner! Cant wait to see you boys in April 2017 tickets already booked for FQF 2017 !
google avatar

Heather D.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! Yes, it's a gay bar and you may see a gay dancer enticing the crowd to stop in, but there is a diverse crowd and all are welcome. Ishmael & Wes were super fun & personable, not to mention made fabulous mojitos! Cash only but they do have an ATM on site. Lots of great drink specials during the week too. I'll definately be stopping in to say hi on my next visit and have a yummy mojito or two!

Yelp
This is one of the newest gay bars on Bourbon Street, and it's located right on Bourbon and St. Anne on the gay corner- across the street from Oz and catty-corner from The Pub. "New" as in, I think it opened in 2007. It's different as a NOLA gay bar in several ways: it's smaller, more modern looking, and cleaner. And it's SMOKE FREE SMOKE FREE SMOKE FREE. Can I emphasize that enough? A smoke free bar in New Orleans? Love it. They have some good seating areas, and some strong-ass drinks. They tout themselves as having the "most extensive martini and wine list" on Bourbon Street. I've had many cocktails here and they're always quite strong. Honestly, it reminds me of one of my favorite Philly gay bars, Bump, for its modern looking atmosphere and really strong drinks. That's a good thing. Typical gay bar music: Europop set to weird videos that no one ever sees unless they're in a gay bar. The one thing that I don't like is that they sometimes play their gay club music SO LOUDLY that I fear my brain will explode inside my head.

Yelp
I wasn't here long enough to give it a thorough review, so take the 4 stars as you will, but I was here, I did drink, but then I left with my drink. We came here because my girlfriend loves mojitos and they had a sign advertising best mojitos in the quarter. We stopped in the middle of the afternoon - she got a regular mojito, and I got a strawberry mojito (listen, my man card was shredded years ago, so you have nothing you can do to me about ordering a strawberry mojito). Anyway, bartender was good - had a few customers, but seemed to be entertaining them all, he was friendly, and made a killer drink. The mojitos were, obviously, great. Fresh strawberries, right amount of sweet, good rum. Very enjoyable; maybe not the best ever, but a good drink nonetheless. The inside was pleasant enough - a bit small, but they were open to the outside, had some couches and comfy chairs off to the side. Music playing in the background, and apparently, a DJ in the evening, though it is a bit small, so I don't know how good it is for dancing. Still, if you like mojitos, grab one here. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Great place! Friendly staff people. Great mojitos! right on Bourbon street. Close to everything great for everyone

Yelp
Loved this little place on Bourbon. Cash only, but great prices. The bartender was so friendly and took our song requests. We had a blast dancing and just having fun with the staff. My shot slipped out of my hand and broke onto the floor but the staff came quickly to clean up the mess and replace the shot. Stop in for a mojito, they are amazing.

Yelp
Super awesome bartender, Jared. Fun, good drinks, full bar! Definitely would come again.

Yelp
Decadence 2013: Yep! There's a new bar on the corner of Bourbon and St. Anne. Wow! I wonder what it's like. Decadence 2014: Yep! It's still there. Maybe we should go in for a cocktail and check it out? Nahhhh, let's just head on up the street. Decadence 2015: Alright now. We really should check this out ... We wandered by on a Friday evening and were intercepted by a smoking-hot muscular man in a jockstrap, knee pads, and a minimum of Baseball gear. He posed for a couple of scandalous photos and we were on our way. We were back the next evening and stopped in for a cocktail. We discovered that it's a really small space. There is a small bar on the ground floor, with a small space for seating. There is a bar upstairs with a bit more seating but it's nothing special. The bartender upstairs seemed more interested in talking to his friends than he was in making cocktails for his paying customers. You should know that there is no access to the balcony on the corner via the bar. That's all part of the Bourbon Orleans Hotel and can only be accessed through the rooms of the hotel's guests. You'll see Sister Roma of the SF chapter of Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence up there with porn stars during Decadence, but there is no way for us plebeians to join them ... unless we are invited. Decadence 2016: Been there, done that, over it. Next!

Yelp
Cool atmosphere, owner is super nice and Sergio the bartender makes a bomb pineapple jalapeño mojito!!
google avatar

George D.

Yelp
Mojitos were nice, it's closed on Wednesday night super sad. Loving this place so accommodating all the stools have upholstery's and petty floral patterns. No bourbon but on bourbon st. Staff was nice, good lighting red but not too red, good shade too. They also play Judge Judy if you need a little tv time, no drama. It also smells refreshing the further you get from the bar towards the left. Crisp clean refreshing Miller light, doesn't taste fruity like good friends. The have cost hangers too which v convenient.
google avatar

Blake Z.

Yelp
I came here 5 times in 2 days for Mojito's. They are made to order, have a ton of booze, and taste fantastic. I have no idea anything else about this plus except the Mojito is awesome. Oh yeah what kind of rum were you using? I hadn't seen it before and it was smoooooooth
google avatar

Shae B.

Yelp
We stumbled on this place while strolling bourbon st. I am a Mojito lover and this is by far the best that I have had. I will be back!

Melissa M.

Yelp
Great time here during our stay in New Orleans! Meko makes a mean mojito and it's a super great vibe.
google avatar

Drew S.

Yelp
Love going Napoleon's! The atmosphere is fun, welcoming, and it's clean. The drinks are strong and reasonably priced, the bartenders are great and quick to keep the drinks coming! It's always a fun experience! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Melody X.

Yelp
Drink was overly minty, asked for a refund, because the front clearly stated money back gauranteed. &the bartender was upset. He wanted to replace my drink instead. Suggested I've never had mojito before. Doesn't keep their words. Not coming back. Whoever like non fresh bitter mojito may go there, not me.
google avatar

Sarah F.

Yelp
Cleanest bathrooms on Bourbon street! Friendly bar tenders, great music! Right across the street from Marie Laveau's House of Voodoo.
google avatar

Carmen L.

Yelp
I'm from Chicago I can honestly say that Julian's mojitos are the best! I went 2 days in a row to get my mojito fix! Definitely I will be going again next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Felicia P.

Yelp
Spent a good amount of time here during my trip last week. The mojitos are excellent and the bar folks are super chill (and so is the venue!). I had several watermelon and blackberry mojitos as well. The music videos are also cool. We sang and danced along to music from our childhoods. A blast!
google avatar

Ryne B.

Yelp
I like this place: good drinks, nice servers, upscale atmosphere & decor. Maybe it's a gay bar but there are usually 50/50 guys/girls. Smoking is allowed but it's not smokey. Whenever I'm out strolling Bourbon Street, I always stop by and say hi to David, Ismael, Wes, & others. It's cash-only, which I don't like but I plan for these things, so...
google avatar

Sherri K.

Yelp
Um, I loved it. I loved the men's. I called it, "Bear's on Bourbon" because that's the 1st impression I got after strolling in, initially only attracted to the South beach color scheme and art deco furniture. Then I noticed there were 6 men, 5 of them gay and 1 actually a woman. And I decided to stay here all afternoon on my last afternoon in New Orleans. They have a fantastic martini menu. The bartender took his time, with each and every drink - a true mixologist. Best martini's I've had in looong loong time. Bravo! Then we talked about all the fantastic gay bars in Denver, and the Bear's (in from Dallas) told birthday stories. Great daytime bar to have GREAT drinks and enjoy the street sights walking by. Local clientele, and their little dogs also added to the ambiance.
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
This was a regular spot on our trip to NOLA. The bar tenders are super nice. The mojitos are top notch. So so good. We came out for a friends bachelorette and the bar tender Julian gave us free shots. Napoleons is on the gay row but doesn't scream gay on the inside. Very fun and welcoming spot.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Best Mojitos I've ever had! ( I recommend the mojito w/ cherries) The bartenders are really awesome and made us feel like regulars as soon as we walked in. My sisters and I had a great time and would recommend Napoleons Itch to anyone looking for some bourbon street fun with out all the bourbon street bull shit

Shay F.

Yelp
Bartender was shit or at least his attitude was.(whomever was behind the bar 9/21/19 @ 10:23pm) The music was great!
google avatar

Emet D.

Yelp
Went in for their advertised Mojito and ordered a watermelon Mojito, which was fresh and pineapple which appeared canned. Regardless after one sip you could tell the mint leaves were overpowering and not up to par in quality, especially for being over $10 per drink. However, due to the money back guarantee, I was provided my money back and even tipped for the service but was spoken poorly towards and was told I had no taste as Mojito are supposed to be minty. This left a bitter taste in my mouth and I would not advise ordering one unless your extremely drunk or like overpowering cheap mint leaves in your Mojito for $12
google avatar

Colleen B.

Yelp
The owners are precious people, the most gracious and friendly people I have ever met. The music and drinks are fabulous. Will be on our "places to visit" list.
google avatar

Allen A.

Yelp
Best drinks on Bourbon Street and maybe in the quarter. We came in early and the place was a relatively quiet oasis in the madness that is the French Quarter. Kyle was our bartender and he did us right. I had a pineapple drink off the menu (can't remember the name, sorry) and Robin had a strawberry mojito. They were both excellent, Kyle was fun and gave us some great dinner suggestions. The only downer is its cash only, but a lot of places around town are so I'm not penalizing them for that. If you are in New Orleans do yourself a favor, do not avoid Bourbon Street, just make a beeline for Napoleons Itch.
google avatar

Davie A H.

Yelp
Best mojito w/ coconut rum EVER! Owen is an amazing bartender and really took great care of us. This will now be a regular spot for us!
google avatar

Allen Y.

Yelp
Expensive for what you get. Each round of drinks for 2 was 20+. Apparently it *was* a non-smoking bar but guess it couldn't hack it as such as now they allow smoking. The bartender was good but the decor is something like a holiday inn in Paramus. It is basically a hotel bar.
google avatar

Mitzi A.

Yelp
Infused vodkas (cucumber, chili, orange, pineapple) and specialty mojitos (Pikkie makes a killer Strawberry Mojito!). Good upbeat dance music. Nice ambiance...bar and lounge chairs and dance floor.

Mani W.

Yelp
Great drinks, but the bartender keeps disappearing as soon as I get a drink! Hello!! I'm a damn tourist! Haha! That's why this gets 3 instead of 5 stars
google avatar

Stephany M.

Yelp
We ducked into this little bar mainly because we needed a bathroom. And I gotta tell you, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Not only was the bathroom one of the best I'd seen in the quarter, but the service was friendly, the drinks were good, and the atmosphere was very laid-back and comfortable. I don't know what the late night crowd is like, but next time I'm in the quarter and need a little break from the noise, this is where I'll head!
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
This is a bar that specializes in mojitos. I do not drink mojitos. My girlfriend does. She had several types and said they were the best she's had. I tried them. They're fantastic. The bartenders are very friendly and welcoming. If you like mojitos, you have to go there.
google avatar

Margo N.

Yelp
Loved the mojitos. Service was grand. Loved MR JULIAN! We are definitely going back. Drinks and conversation were bomb dot com!
google avatar

Gina G.

Yelp
Definitely a more mature crowd but fun to be music good Outback feeding lots of fun definitely a place I would go back to
