Napoles Restaurant - Review - East Boston - Boston - The Infatuation

"There’s a fake plane that’s literally crashing into the side of the Napoles building. Maybe it’s there to remind you that you’re really close to Logan, or it’s a metaphor for the food here, which is really disappointing. The tacos are dry and the pizzas are forgettable, but hey, at least they have drinks available. Napoles is currently open for indoor and outdoor dining, as well as takeout and delivery." - Joel Ang

The food was expensive ( 6 dollars for a bottle of water, really?) But the worst , we was there with my wife and a group of friends and we ordered some cakes to eat there but one of our friends was eating ice cream from another place, which shouldn't have been a problem, but it wasn'tallowed, supposedly by "establishment policies" the waitress in a dismissive manner told us that we had to leave the place. place not recommended at all.

This place is amazing, huge portions, taste like they were made with love, the service is lovely, the food waitress helps me practice my Spanish. The tres leches was so good I only needed a couple bites to feel satisfied

I happened to stop by this place on St. Pattys web. Everyone was out partying in Boston. The place wasn’t packed and yet the service was incredibly hospitable. The server was kind and attentive and made sure our drinks never made it to the bottom before offering us a new one. The music was on point and they serve yummy chicharon until late which is a must if you’re accompanying your margaritas with it!

I usually refrain from speaking ill of people or their businesses, but the owner of this restaurant is an exception. His arrogance and blatant disrespect for patrons are astounding. The utter disregard for customers’ time is unacceptable, especially for those who chose this restaurant out of many in town, only to have their plans ruined. It’s infuriating to have a simple outing to watch a game and enjoy a meal turned into a nightmare due to the owner’s ineptitude. This establishment does not deserve to serve our wonderful community. If the owner can’t provide basic hospitality and decent service, he should sell the business to someone who actually cares about customers. The hospitality industry demands a level of service and respect that this owner clearly lacks.

I was looking for a “tres leches cake.” I called this place and asked if they had any, to which they said they did. I picked up my “tres leches” cake and took it home for my sisters birthday. It was just a dry strawberry peaches and cream cake. It lacked flavor and taste. Completely ruined her birthday. Thanks so much, will never be back. The people who work here are airheads.

Napoles Restaurant Review: UPDATE: We called and did a reservation and asked we could take kids which your team said yes to both! When there and notified we couldn't I informed the owner that while he had 20 years of experience in 1 restaurant I partner with over 200 restaurants and this is not a law, he said call the police and if they say that he is wrong then they will let the minor in, once we did that the entitled daughter said after they said it was ok "we just simply don't want them to go in" so your response is invalid and you're still a himorrible stablishment and even worse human beings! Napoles restaurant is an absolute nightmare, thanks to the insufferable owner and his overbearing daughter, who seems to think she’s royalty simply because her daddy owns the place. She needs a serious reality check being the offspring of a restaurant owner doesn't equate to having a decent personality. Our experience went from bad to worse when the owner falsely claimed that minors under 19 are not allowed in the restaurant, despite there being children as young as seven present. We called the police to clarify, and they confirmed that minors can be admitted if accompanied by adults. However, when we handed the phone to the owner's arrogant daughter, she blatantly told the officers they just didn’t want us to enter with the minor, despite us calling ahead and being told it was fine. To add insult to injury, after we sent our 19-year-old home, they refused to let the rest of our party in, even though we had a reservation and an empty table waiting for us. The cherry on top was them having the audacity to charge us for the drinks we couldn’t even finish. This entitled family and their run-down restaurant offer the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered in the hospitality industry. They lost a $1,000 tab and gained this very thorough, well-deserved review. Stay far away from Napoles restaurant!

Yelp
Came here to watch a Colombian football game with some friends. Since they had been before, they knew it was best to go extra early to establish good seats as they do fill up quickly on nights like that. Boy, was that a good call. By the time the game started, every table, seat, and spot at the bar was filled let alone the other large space when you initially walk in. We drank aguardiente along with gin tonics, tequila sunrise, and more. The food looked great too but I was too full from prior meals unfortunately. Overall, I had a phenomenal experience. The staff were able to gracefully maneuver through the crowded room with smiles on their faces. I would love to come back for another game on an empty stomach.

Yelp
Last minute stop by today on this rainy day. Wasn't a bad decision. We went straight to the bar since we already ate earlier so we were not hungry at all. Wanna go somewhere with drink. So far it's my first time coming here. It's pretty festive. A lot of Spanish music playing and people are really friendly. Tho some of them doesn't really speak English. We got some wine and an app that me and my friend shared. Would love to come back next time if given the chance.

Yelp
I remember when this restaurant was good I had my high school graduation here. But IDK what happens to the chef or why he left. My parents went there last night to get food they brought me home a plate I had one bite and had to throw the rest out. I will not be back.

Yelp
If you love high quality Colombian and Italian cuisine, excellent service, great prices, and a welcoming atmosphere you MUST check out this spot. The main dining room area is great for families and any occasion. Great latin and mainstream beats from all time play all over. If drinks in a lounge/bar is more up your speed, the bar in the back is great. Friendly staff, great food, fun atmosphere, pool tables, Keno, and large screens with all sporting events including World Cup games. Live music is also featured some nights. Salsa group is playing tonight. Check their announcements for details. Today I chose the best shrimp scampi and patacones (fried green plantains) I've had in a LONG time for lunch, but the extensive menu features many delicious options to suit any taste. I highly recommend it. Happy Friday!

Yelp
TLDR; Servers can be VERY rude. Food is average. Don't even think of ordering for delivery. I'm writing this right after being so rudely hung up on 3 times by two different ladies. We had been ordering from this place for a number of weeks and the experience has been either nice/accommodating or just plain rude. There's a gentleman that gets our orders every time we're able order successfully (60% of the time). He's great when he's there, but everyone else couldn't be bothered to be decent over the phone. We always call in advance (very politely, mind you) to check whether they have delivery that night, and until what time. Tonight I was told yes, so I called back before deadline and the lady just said, "No delivery! Sorry I don't understand you!" and hung up. I called back to speak with a manager. She said, "No manager!" and hung up again. I call one more time using a different phone, got a "Hello?" from a different lady, and then a click. I'm still fuming from how poorly I was treated. STAY AWAY.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant/bar and the end of the night when my girl friends and I were walking to out car, we were attacked by some drunk guys. They were trying to touch us and they kept trying to open the door of our car so we weren't leave. We were all scared. I wish this place would have had security guards outside or maybe cut people of so they don't come out this drunk. Horrible experience.

Yelp
Naples is now run by a Columbian family, the staff seems a bit new at it but the cook sure knows what he is doing. The food has a real home cooked apeal and its delicious with generous portions at a great price. If we lived here we would be regulars

Yelp
I don't like giving 'meh'/'ok' reviews because I'm big on supporting local businesses, but it's necessary in order for businesses to improve. I've been here before as I live close by, and have been here to play pool, eat, and try their breakfast buffet. Generally, I think the food is decent, drinks are very reasonably priced, but the breakfast buffet is lacking. At this point in time, I wouldn't be able to recommend the breakfast buffet to friend/family, as I've had better at other local businesses. It seemed like they had a random assortment/selection, we did not have the best service (the staff was friendly enough, but it wasn't busy and we had to track down someone to give us utensils and to take our drink order). The cost seemed reasonably priced, it was ~$23 for me and my boyfriend so I think it was a good value, but I'd rather pay more for better selection. I'll be back, but just not for the buffet.

Yelp
I was there and they stopped me from playing because I could damage their pool table, even though I was in my right mind and acting moderately it's was bad moment and not good time on Nápoles restaurant

Yelp
Breakfast buffet saturday and sunday 7-12! I believe it is Colombian and it was delicious. The chef who cooked all of the food will also make you an omelet of your choice. The fruit was freshly sliced and the breads looked and tasted home made. The rice and beans were super yum, the empanadas yum, the chicharron and chourico yum. Take the blue line to suffolk downs, exit the station and its directly across the street! Breakfast buffet for two plus a coffee and hot chocolate = 23.50. That cannot be beat!

Yelp
I met with the owner a few months ago to reserve the back room for a small event. We both signed and agreed to the terms of the contract. The day prior to the event, I called the restaurant to meet with him. Someone answered and told me to call later as it was not a good time. I drove by as I was nervous since the next afternoon was the event. They were having an electric issue and were trying to fix it. He finally accepted to speak to me and told me he was not sure the event would be able to go on, but he was going to call me as soon as the inspector gave him an update. When was I going to be told that if I didn't drive by? Midnight, and no call back. He calls two hours the before the actual event and says everything is fine. It was not. He failed to mention the back room was not being set up, and we did not have the private event as promised as other people were dining with us in the same room that were not part of the party. The staff did not place enough tables and chairs despite having a headcount. We asked for small discount due to all the inconveniences and stress less than 24 hrs before the event without direct communication, and instead he up charged us. I understand that a business is a business, but when one party (the business) does not fulfill their contract it is their responsibility to accommodate the customer. Not only was I not accommodated, but I was very stressed and uninformed literally until a few hours before the start of the event. Food is delicious, which I cannot discredit. I just think this situation could have been handled better.

Yelp
Napoles Restaurant is accessible and well located at Bennington St. or just across the street at Suffolk Downs Station taking the blue line of the "T" in Boston. The restaurant is very close to the ocean shore and Logan's International Airport. It has a small airplane, supposedly crashed, decorating the roof. If you want something different and adventurous, this is an excellent place to try. The restaurant is divided into three sections, bar stools/tables, formal dining room, and pool tables area. The setting is very colorful ethnic and folkloric, resembling the atmosphere of a Latin American, Colombian restaurant. Diverse tropical Caribbean and Colombian folk music is played in the bar area. The bar has all kind of drinks and cold beer. We had Corona Mexican beer, at very affordable prices. You can also have appetizers or dinner at the bar. If you are going with your spouse, couple or friends I recommend you to try the Paisa Tray (Bandeja Paisa), a very typical dish in Colombia. There is enough food in a Paisa Tray for two or three persons. If you rather prefer a calm atmosphere, you can go to the formal dining area which is more private and quiet. Tell the manager what language you prefer, Napoles Restaurant has enough employees that are fluent in English. The restaurant is equipped with computerized cashiers so everything you consume will be clearly detailed in your ticket. The best Latin American ambiance I've found in Boston. It doesn't get any more authentic than this. The drinks, the food, the tropical beat, all in Boston. These are hard working and honest people. The ladies at the bar counter are very courteous. Of course, if real Latin American culture is not your thing, you could always go to Chipotle or Chili's; the American version of Latin America or Tex-Mex culture for people who prefer the comfort zone. Location (*****) Latin Ambiance (*****) Price (*****) Service (*****) Security (*****).

Yelp
We just got our food deliver from ubereats and it was a disappointment . ... a Colombian mountain dish not only was it missing the avocado but also the steak tasted old like it had been sitting for hours and the fried pork belly ring was under cooked Uneatable pork needs to be fully cooked. We also order a sopa de mandongo it came with rice and salad it was like drinking hot oil with small chunks of overly cooked carrots(sing of the soup also not being fresh) this was our first and last time ordering from this place.

Yelp
2 words...STAY AWAY!!!! Staff rude and angry. Food tasteless and old. We didn't finish our meal and noone cared. Seems they were happy to see us leave...as were we. Never again. Stay away.

Yelp
I celebrated my birthday there last night with friends, sisters, my husband and 3 yo son and service and food was EXCELLENT!! When we arrived to the restaurant, the waitress had put balloons and festive decorations in our table! Thank you so much!!!! We will be back!!!!!

Yelp
I had a very good experience... The variety of the menu is great... from burgers, pizza, seafood, pasta and steak but also is a authentic Columbian restaurant. The food portions were big from the Calamari appetizers to the traditional Columbian dish. The owner personally greeted us and shared stories about the Columbian cuisine & way of life. Prices were very reasonable especially given the size of the meal. I will post another review if things change but as of now I'm looking forward to going back

Yelp

Yelp
My friends and I went to Orient Heights to see the incredibly fabulous view of Boston. We spotted and tried this restaurant by chance and we loved it. The food is great-- hearty Colombian dishes. The prices are very reasonable and the decor is fun. The waitstaff is very pleasant and efficient. The menus are in English as well as Spanish so we were easily able to order. The first time there I had the tilapia which was tasty, but a lot of work to eat since it is served whole- head and all. I went back a second time and had the "typical" Colombian plate which had a great assortment of meats, plantain, egg, beans and rice. very delicious! There is a separate bar section, so the main dining room is fine for kids- I brought little ones who loved the place. We will definitely be going back there.

Ali M.

Yelp
The only thing worse than the service (we were blatantly ignored and given attitude to the point where we had to get our own drinks at the bar even though we had a table) was the owner who instead of talking to me like a normal person when I tried meeting my friend at the door, decided to grab my shoulders and scold me like a child. Over the top unprofessional and borderline harassment. This place is garbage. The treat at the end of the night were multiple charges on our tab that weren't ours.

Mark A.

Yelp
Great service by the wait staff, extremely attentive from greeting at the door, to checking the table and busing while you are dining. Value for your dollar is great, All you can eat breakfast buffet with fresh eggs cooked to order and a Colombian flare. Plenty of parking, easy to get to, on the blue line as well; across from Suffolk downs. I would like the buffet food to be warmer, but it wasn't cold at all. I would encourage others to visit.

Tom T.

Yelp
Was something of an exploration on a whim. Good food and nicely presented. Had a diverse menu; we tried the Colombian mountain plate, fried red snapper, ribs and a burger. Ended up sharing between the four of us to try the different tastes. The server invited us back to try the weekend buffet. Definitely worth a visit

Ashley J.

Yelp
This is a colombian, specifically paisa, restaurant. Not spanish. There is a huge difference. The food is very typical and my husband who is paisa loves it. They have a lot of dishes like chinchurria which are very specific regional favorites and can be hard to find. I had the pargo rojo (red snapper) and he had the truca (trout). Both were fabulous. The prices are very fair and the restaurant is cute. The service was good. The waitresses do speak enough english that you wouldn't feel weird going in if you don't speak spanish. This is one of our favorite places and frankly I wouldn't listen too much to reviewers who A) don't even know what kind of food they are going out for and B) think arroz con pollo is the pinnacle of fine LATIN AMERICAN dining.

Yelp
as a person who likes to try diferent flavors i decided to give this place a chance even if some of the reviews weren't so good and let me tell you, that for my surprise this was an amazing experience . first our waitress was really friendly, spoke very good english, that is always an issue in spanish restaurants, then she brough these little ''empanadas' really tasty , we got our drinks, and we ordered the special of the day a "paella" that was fantastic and had plenty of seafood for even more than 2 persons, the lobster was real claw meat, shrimp , scallops, clams, chicken, sausage, red peppers , peas, and the traditional safron rice, something that was new for me about this plate was that they put some little cheese sticks in the rice, really tasty. the presentation also were diferent that most places they served this dish in a banana or plantain leave it was amazing , the owner went to our table and explain his idea about the food and we learn that he brought the restaurant few weeks ago. great place, plenty of parking spaces and cheap too, the paella was less than 16.00 dollars. i will return for more
