Had already been to the Napoli Pizza in Hillsboro and Carrboro, so the expectation was high and this location didn't disappoint! It is located inside the new Durham Food Hall where there are several small restaurants set up like a high-end mall food court. It opened a couple of months ago, but as of this time, you are still unable to sit inside the food hall so it's still take out only.
According to their website, they get their flour, olive oil, and tomatoes from Italy and grow their own basil. You can totally tell because when you eat this pizza it tastes like high quality, fresh ingredients.
I have been several times and usually get the margherita pizza and sometimes add portobello mushrooms on it. I also pick up the Neapolitan breadsticks which are equally delicious. Can we talk about the homemade gelato now? They offer several flavors in either the 16 oz pint or 8 oz half pint size. I have tried the raspberry, blackberry peach, and the orange blossom. I was initially hesitant of the orange blossom because the only orange flavored ice cream I remember having is 1980's orange New England orange sherbet (I'm dating myself here)! I finally did try it and it was epic! Seriously, on a scale of 1 to 10, this orange blossom gelato was a 12! It was creamy, with high quality ingredients, and just the right amount of orange flavor. You will not be disappointed!
