We made a reservation for 10 people. The table was ready by our arrival. The owner greeted us and made a conversation in Azerbaijanian, Russian and English. It was our first time and we ordered a lot!! Everything was absolutely delicious. We just came back from Baku, and being in this restaurant reminded us about our wonderful trip. I loved everything: the atmosphere, the service and the food. Highly recommend this place to everybody who wants to have a great time and a wonderful meal.

An incredible new gem in the South Bay! We visited NAR Restaurant today on their opening day, and everything was truly impressive — from the warm atmosphere to the beautifully presented dishes. We tried the Ciz Biz, Piti, and Saj Chicken, and each one was outstanding! The Ciz Biz was sizzling and full of deep lamb flavor, the Piti was rich and comforting with chickpeas and tender meat, and the Saj Chicken was perfectly marinated and cooked on the cast iron pan — so juicy and aromatic. The service was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience felt like dining in a high-end restaurant with a very welcoming family touch. It’s exciting to finally have an authentic Azerbaijani/Caucasian restaurant in the Bay Area.

⭐ 5/5 I stopped by for the first time today and was genuinely impressed. It’s great to find a place that serves Azerbaijani and Caucasian cuisine with this level of quality. I ordered the Cizbiz, which is a dish of liver and potatoes fried together in a pan, and it was delicious. The liver was tender, the potatoes were perfectly crispy—overall a very satisfying plate. For dessert, I tried the Malaga Cake, and it was the perfect way to finish the meal. Soft, creamy, and with a light banana flavor, it exceeded my expectations. The place is clean, the service is quick, and the staff is friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu.

Stopped by for a Sunday dinner with my wife. Wonderfully friendly welcoming, attentive service and delicious food. We visited Azerbaijan years ago and we're taken by their cuisine. Happy to see it well represented here. The lamb shank was especially good along with the honey cake.

Yelp
We had such a wonderful lunch here and are already planning to come back to try more dishes. We ordered the prix fixe lunch (appetizer + soup/salad + main) for $39.90, and it was a lot of food for an amazing price. For appetizers, the eggplant rolls were the standout. Perfectly seasoned, soft, and incredibly flavorful. From the salads, the eggplant salad was our clear favorite. The eggplant was cooked beautifully with a soft interior and a rich, delicious sauce. The Choban salad was also fresh and tasty. For the main course, the lule kebab was excellent. It was tender, flavorful meat paired with perfectly cooked potatoes. Overall, everything we tried was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was great. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be returning!

Yelp
All the dishes were amazing and the service was fantastic! Must-haves: Suzme, Ciz Biz, and Pakhlava. Perfect spot for a date night or a relaxed weekend lunch. We're not from the area, but we'll definitely come back the next time we visit.

Yelp
I'm so glad my friend told me about Nor restaurant. It's the perfect place if you want to try a new cuisine that's full of flavor and the authentic vibe of the Caucasus mountains. We had khachapuri, choban salad, and eggplant rolls everything was fresh, super tasty, and the service was great. The wine was amazing too, made with traditional methods and full of rich flavor! Highly recommended

Yelp
Back in the day this used to be Haopi House. Then it was a very regional Chinese place which region unfortunately slips my mind. It is now a place that serves the cuisines of the Caucuses. This type of food is pretty hard to find around these parts. I've had Uzbek, Russian Kurdish and Georgian which seems to have some crossovers and similarities and those are just as hard to find. Super cool that this has opened where most of the new stuff is Chinese and Indian (& to that extent I've learned a lot about those cuisines but I'm hoping it doesn't homogenize in only those!). We had sone dumplings which remind me of the Uzbek Manty, and a grilled liver/onion/potato dish which Also exists in Uzbek circles. Finally the honey cake reminded me of something I had at 20th century cafe in San Francisco which was "Russian" (which means it could be from a lot of places) in origin. Everything was delicious. The service was friendly but seemed a bit nervous. Also not everything on the menu is available just yet as they're still soft open. I think in a month or so this will be super solid. A welcome addition to the area that takes a huge left turn from most of the cuisine in the area

Yelp
It's rare to find a place where food, atmosphere, and people all feel perfectly in harmony. NAR is not just a restaurant -- it's a corner of genuine Caucasian warmth in the heart of Silicon Valley.Thank you for the taste, comfort, and kindness you bring! And at the end -- homemade jam, a gentle reminder that true hospitality lives in the smallest details. Azerbaijan is where the Caucasus meets the East --a land where every flavor carries the strength of the mountains and the soul of the Orient.

Yelp
What a lovely place! Warm and cozy ambiance, amazing food, great customer service. We spent a nice girls night out at this authentic restaurant that serves food from Caucasus & Mediterranean regions. My favorites were Ciz - biz with calf liver, lula-kebab, eggplant rolls, suzma and their home-made bread. Also their pahlava dessert was amazing too. Will be coming back!

Yelp
Food is absolutely delicious and very unique flavors! Service is amazing. Ambiance is very nice. The price of their pre-fix menu is much lower than the value of the amount of food given. Highly recommend!

Yelp
It is amazing to find a taste of Azerbaijan in the Bay Area! Thank you guys for opening this restaurant and very big thanks for your delicious foods and hospitality! Yelp
Such a great breakfast experience in the Bay Area, The tea and hot bread were incredibly tasty. Turns out it was their very first day offering breakfast, and they made it great. You must try their Turkish-style breakfast. The hot main dishes in the picture hadn't even arrived yet! Thanks to manager Hikmat and chef who made our day with their delicious breakfast!

Yelp
A wonderful traditional Azerbaijan restaurant offering delicious food full of authentic flavors. The service was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The cozy ambiance, with traditional décor and music, beautifully reflected Azerbaijani culture.

Yelp
I visited Nar Restaurant to try their Azerbaijani pakhlava and piti, and both were exceptionally well prepared. One of my friends is vegetarian, and they also had suitable options available, which was great. The place offers an authentic and beautiful atmosphere, and at the same time, it's family-friendly and also cozy. Overall, a wonderful dining experience!

Yelp
Highly recommended and a great twist for those tired of Chinese, Indian, Middle Eatern fare. We had eggplant and tomatoes salad which was cooked incredibly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and deliciously spiced. The Khachapuri was a delightful surprise. Beautiful space too.

Piper M.

Yelp
I have not eaten here yet but hope too. However, since we only eat outside I have two questions. 1) Do you still have outdoor tables 2) Do you offer dishes from the Caucasus on your lunch menu? I have only been able to find your dinner menu online so far, but have heard informally that your lunch menu offers few if any dishes from Azerbaijan Georgia etc.

Yelp
This is a gem of a restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The service is great and the staff is extremely helpful if you have any questions or request. The cuisine is delicious and truly authentic with a perfect balance of flavors. I highly recommend giving this new up-and-coming restaurant a try. My family and I absolutely loved it. Thank you for having us!

Yelp
Excellent service and authentic yammy azerbaijan cuisine! Highly recommend you visit Nar!

Yelp
Excellent Azerbaijani/mediterranean food cooked with care and full of authentic flavor. The restaurant has a great, warm ambiance that feels both special and welcoming. We made a mistake and arrived at opening hours for the food truck, but they still served us with such kindness -- the owner is incredibly generous and genuinely cares about guests. I used to visit them back when they had their food truck- and that menu is still available as take out at the same prices. Great service. Definitely recommended!

Yelp
We went for lunch takeout (we chose Olivia from the kiosk) and were so impressed. While we waited, the owner, Hikmat Babayev, chatted with us about his wines and his story. We sampled the excellent baklava. He's a fabulous host and the food is outstanding. We had the smoked eggplant soup and beef dolmas. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back for dinner!

Jaye G.

Yelp
So happy with this addition to the neighborhood! Every dish we tried was delicious- and I can't wait to try more. Our server was lovely and informative and the ambiance was warm and comfortable. There is also a takeout menu kiosk in the front- which is helpful since I was really enjoying the food truck they had in the parking lot while they were renovating.

Yelp
My husband and I had a wonderful meal at Nar restaurant. The atmosphere of this newly opened restaurant in Mountain View is very nice, service was relaxed and attentive. The Azerbaijani food was excellent. I ordered the lamb shank which was accompanied with mash potatoes. The lamb was tasty and cooked to perfection, same for the mash patotoes. The home made honey cake for dessert had a great balance of all its components and was not too sweet. The discussion with the friendly and kind owner enhanced our positive experience. We were offered two glasses of wine, a gesture that was greatly appreciated. All in all, we highly recommend this new gem restaurant in Mountain View.

Emilie R.

Yelp
We had a delicious meal at the new NAR restaurant in Mountain View that serves Azerbaijani food. We were a party of four who shared two outstanding appetizers and four delicious main courses. The appetizers we tried included Trio Mezze, a sampling of three delicious spreads, with mangal -- a spread made of chargrilled vegetables as the highlight, and Gurza, excellent dumplings filled with spiced lamb. The mains we shared included lamb shank which was prepared in a rich and aromatic sauce served with mashed potatos; Saj Chicken, marinated cornish hen pieces prepared in a flat iron pan which was crispy and succulent; lamb chops served with very fresh salad greens in a tangy salad dressing; and the surprise table favorite -- Ciz Biz (sizzling beef liver). One of our party who normally dislikes liver said this was so good that he would gladly order it again. All of the dishes were generously portioned and perfectly executed. For desert we had Caucasian Pakhlava which is similar to Baklava, but denser and filled with walnuts , which we enjoyed with Azerbaijani tea. A great ending to a lovely meal. We look forward to trying the other dishes on offer at this welcome addition to the local restaurant scene.

Aynur S.

Yelp
The ambiance was really nice - cozy and welcoming, with a great Azerbaijani atmosphere. I wish the restaurant lots of success and hope it becomes a favorite spot for many! I'll definitely visit again soon
