This is a great place to go for fun and the experience. While the food was tasty I wouldn't categorize it as fine dining; IMHO it’s more akin to fast food that uses higher end ingredients. For the price one would expect something more refined. I guess the point of hibachi focuses more on the UX. It's enjoyable to watch the cooks prepare everything in front of you with their comedic gestures and cooking techniques. Our 8 year old son had a blast watching. They do things like tossing food into one's mouth from a distance. The environment is cozy and trendy. I gather this is the birthday mecca because it felt like every table around us, including ours had a birthday. And of course the sing happy birthday. And lastly, the portions they give are quite large so taking food home is quite the norm; it seemed like every table left with to-go bags in tow.

We visited Nara sushi and hibachi on a Monday evening around 645 and got seated with another group for hibachi in 15 minutes (we didn't call ahead). The atmosphere is very chic with hip decor and ambient lighting. The hibachi was absolutely delicious all around and we had more than enough food to eat for 2 days (unless you're a full grown man like me and finish it all in one seating).

Nara is the best! Went here for my fiancés birthday and they went out of their way to make it special. Dori was our server and Vegas Mike was our chef, they were both phenomenal! 10/10 recommend.

Google
Had such a great time celebrating my birthday here! We started off with popcorn sushi and crab rangoon (only 3 pieces) which were both delicious. Sushi was so tasty and they had some unique options on the menu that were worth it: spicy Cali roll wasn’t a Cali roll with spicy mayo on top, but rather spicy crab salad, which was so good. Also, the hot Chito sushi was apparently a fan favorite and it was also good! Our server Hannah was extremely accommodating, always checked in on us, helpful with picking items from the menu, and did not rush us out the door at all even though they closed at 10 and we had no idea and stayed till 10:30. Will definitely be coming back!

Google
This was by far the best hibachi experience we have ever had. Soony and Vegas Mike were the absolute best! They were friendly, funny, attentive, and all of the above. I’m so excited to come back!

Yelp
NARA Sushi and Hibachi Steakhouse, in Located in Detroit Michigan, NARA Sushi and Hibachi Steakhouse, serves a variety of sushi rolls, hibachi steak, vegetables and more. I visited for a casual dinner, and was not disappointed. I can best describe it as an upscale all you can eat buffet. The serving sizes were quite large, but still very good. For a casual dinner, there was a lot of noise made by party goers, but it would be perfect for a party. The service was the best part of the experience. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, especially our waiter and chef. Very relaxed and entertaining experience. The food was brought out very quickly, and our chef gave us his undivided attention. The staff made sure there were no allergies or problems with the food. I ordered the Hibachi Steak, California Roll, and the Fried Rice. In my opinion it was all cooked to perfection, and tasted amazing. They offered different sauces for the steak, and there were many options and flavors to enjoy. In terms of pricing, everything was very reasonable. They gave you a very large portion for a small price, and the quality didn't change. Overall, the price was good compared to the serving size. In conclusion, this was a great hibachi experience, with amazing food, good prices, and a great environment (other than the noise).

Yelp
Dirty creepy nightclub vibes!!! Bathroom filthy and destroyed. 5 o'clock reservation on a Sunday night with many children present in the restaurant, including a one year old birthday party. Blasting rap music with profanities, DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE!!! Not family friendly.

Portia S.

Yelp
Funny I was trying to write another review about Nara cause I have been back again recently and had a so called birthday celebration with a party of 11 people and some of my guests like 3 of my guests were late cause they couldn't find the location of Nara's and this one particular manager whom had on a red jacket was very rude not understanding would not seat us all together over my guest being 3 mins late for reservations this is my third time eating at Nara's and I WILL NOT NEVER EVER GIVE OR RECOMMEND ANYONE TO DO A EVENT HERE. The manager had the nerve to say that they be very busy on Friday nights like my guests and my money isn't good enough I believe a lot of restaurants on the weekends are very busy. The sad part is that I spoke with another manager about this manager and I was told that they have had other customers complain about this manager who was wearing the red jacket on 2/21/2025 "Friday" at 7:30p.m. The food is very good but the customer service is terrible/horrible some of the staff members treats you like your unwanted there at Nara's establishment I personally felt like the rude unprofessional manager in the red jacket on 2/21/2025 at 7:30p.m. The manager with the red jacket on had a lot of nerve to tell me the customer I have accommodated you long enough was racist discrimination but that's okay cause I will be also reporting this experience to the BB service and passing the word around I will continue to post my bad experiences I have had with Nara's hibachi on all my social media pages for five months straight to spread the word around about my horrible experiences.

Yelp
Well, let me tell you about my adventurous evening at Nara restaurant during their half-off sushi deal. My hubby and I strolled in, craving a well-deserved treat after a grueling workday. We parked ourselves at the bar, ready to indulge, and promptly ordered a bottle of sake - because, hey, we earned it! Now, onto the sushi. It was... alright. Let's just say I was relieved we only had to pay half price. As we savored our discounted rolls, suddenly, in marches a troop of two energetic kiddos, accompanied by a determined mom. And guess where they decide to perch? Right next to us, in the serene bar area. Cue the loud chatter and occasional squeals. I mean, I love kids - from a distance. But seriously, the bar isn't exactly a playground. Nevertheless, we soldiered on, trying to enjoy our meal amidst the cacophony of family fun. The real kicker? When the bill arrived, there it was - tips included on the full, undiscounted amount. Ah, the joy of unexpected math challenges. Overall, Nara's half-off sushi deal is a tempting draw, especially if you're feeling lucky and kid-resistant. Just brace yourself for the unexpected (and the loud) - and maybe double-check that bill!

Yelp
Ordered carry out for my son's birthday today and picked the catering Steak meal for up to 4 it reads. Disappointing feeds more like 2. One container of rice and the salad dressing with mayo I believe? Yuck. Mostly obtained onions for the veggies. Stick to Benihana chain instead.

Nicole R.

Yelp
I like Nara as it is a nice hibachi and sushi place and I like how they offer noodles as part of the hibachi versus rice. The ginger salad I had here tasted great and fresh and the hibachi was good too. The brussels were decent but not my favorite Ive had. Nara is a great place to visit to try hibachi but I dislike how the seats are super close together and they cram everyone in to one table whether you know people sitting there or not, even if they are all together for say, a birthday party. I also felt the hibachi was overpriced for what the portion I got as there are extra charges for noodles etc. I'd visit other hibachi places nearby as the value here just doesn't seem to be as good and I just don't prefer to be at a table of people I don't know and most times they want to seat you there versus at a booth it seems.

Tanya S.

Yelp
I haven't eaten at Nara in years. We decided to order a carry out the other day. It was pretty late, so I was happy they were able to take our order. I was really impressed with the carry out, because everything was so fresh, and they also did exactly as I asked and separated some of the food because I am a vegetarian. I will definitely order again, and stop in for a dinner date night as well. Great job Nara!

Jody K.

Yelp
My sister and I have been to NARA several times, partially because it's close to us and partially to enjoy the hibachi experience. So, when our group of friends who goes out to different restaurants based on the alphabet got to "N", we suggested Nara. Sadly, there was a lot to be desired this time. Among the issues were: 1. They wouldn't seat us until our whole party was there, even though we had a reservation. They had some complicated reasoning that they could seat us if only one person was missing, but we'd have to order for them, but if 2 people were missing, we had to wait. We were in danger of losing our reservation even though the restaurant was half empty! 2. They said they could only take 3 credit cards for the group, so we'd figured out who was paying cash and who would pair up. But when the bill came, they put it all on one. 3. They didn't even offer the Sake drink thing (even though it can be obnoxious). 4. There was almost no "show". The chef did light the hibachi area around the frame, and he did make some fire with onions and other food, but there was no showmanship, no excitement, none of the tossing of cleavers or trying to get a diner to catch a piece of food in their mouth. 5. There was no mention of an extra charge -- apparently $5/person! -- for fried rice. 6. They didn't give everyone a shrimp or two like they had in the past. 7. Their was no mention of a choice of soup. They automatically served onion soup, which was tepid at best. 8. When someone in our party wanted change for a large bill, they wouldn't give her the denominations she wanted. The food itself was ok -- actually a bit under-salted for me, and I don't like much salt on anything -- but it really wasn't much different than, say, similar food from any other non-hibachi Asian restaurant. If Yelp would let me, I'd have given this experience 2.5 stars, and based on this experience, I'm not sure I'd be interested in returning.

Emrita K.

Yelp
Service was not great at all. Our chef was throwing insults to me and my party, I couldn't even eat. Was condescending. The portions were small, and he barely wanted to give us extra sauces. I will not be coming back here.

Loletha D.

Yelp
Clubby atmosphere, loud music dancing. I was not expecting that. Food wasn't bad. Entree comes with 2 shrimp, salad, soup and noodles. I ordered the solo and triple. If you want garlic butter you have to ask for it. Last but not least, the cook and server was phenomenal!! They did an excellent job!

Mike C.

Yelp
Food and service was great but last two times we went there was a full table 12-14 little middle schooler/ high schoolers kids that just didn't care for any other restaurant tenants. Breaking glass, pushing each other, running around, punching each other and grabbing the habachi chefs bottles and squirting each other and the habachi chef too at one point. Must be the owners kids or something cause anyone else would have gotten kicked out. 4 star for food 4 star for service 1 star for clientele

Ash P.

Yelp
Went here with family the music was so loud . I did like the valet parking. The chef was talkative and professional. The food was okay didn't really care for the sushi roll but the chicken hibachi was tasty . This was a family dinner night and not sure if I would return but recommend for people to at least go one time. The tequila shots I liked.

Liz P.

Yelp
I took my boyfriend here on Saturday for his birthday. I haven't had hibachi in a long time, and I was looking forward to it. From some of the other reviews on here, it sounded like the music would be super loud, but it was actually okay - just the bar area is loud. I also read that parking is valet-only (but free), which is annoying (I'm not a fan of valet), so we parked by Planet Fitness instead and walked. The food here was great and probably 5/5 from me. The portions are huge too - I got the steak and chicken hibachi meal and my boyfriend got the steak and shrimp meal. However, Nara is pricey: mine was $33 plus $6 for the chicken fried rice, and I'm pretty sure they didn't use any chicken; I forget how much his was but it was +$1 for miso soup and +$5 for veggie fried rice. We also both got drinks ($15-16 each): my lychee martini was good and he liked his Old Fashioned too. Our table sat 8 people and there were 2 empty chairs by me, then a group of 20-somethings (I'm 36), and they were a bit loud. Not the restaurant's fault, obviously, but did dampen our experience a bit. As others have mentioned on here, gratuity is 20% and mandatory - I'm not a fan of mandatory gratuities but I usually tip 20% anyways. They DO highlight this on the bill so I'm okay with that - a big pet peeve of mine is when it's a hidden charge on the menu. Oh and for birthdays they have an employee come out with a drum, and you get a free ice cream with a sparkler, which was nice of them. This is the closest hibachi place to my boyfriend's house so we'll probably be back at some point, especially since the food was great, but probably not at 830pm on a Saturday night like this time.

Amethyst W.

Yelp
Independent building with its own parking, so very easy to drive up and get a parking spot. We had reservations for 10 people, but we had to wait because we were expecting another person who showed up late due to traffic. The ambience was bright and very loud, which is fine because we came in with a group. Depending on who you share the other side of the table with can really make or break her evening. We were there as a group of adults, but then children came across from us which luckily they were well behaved. Otherwise it could've been pretty annoying. I ordered the scallop and fillet combo and it was pretty good. I like the fact that they give you noodles and rice and vegetables to go with your proteins. I could've use an additional sauce, but it was fine. I enjoyed the soup and salad that came with the meal as well. Overall, it was very tasty and would come back. It was a bit pricey, but good for a work event.

Lindsy W.

Yelp
Food was really good just timing was horrible we placed a food order at 6:20 and still haven't gotten it (7:55) the service is good other than the server only comes to take an order and drop off food nothing else. If you aren't in a rush it is a good place to eat.

Ambirr M.

Yelp
Very demure very mindful staff was great short wait drinks were exceptional and the decor was to die for

Jarod B.

Yelp
Great service and entertainment! I had taken my friend for their birthday! The staff provided a free birthday ice cream! I highly recommend Nara for an entertaining Las Vegas-style Hibachi dining experience rather than Benihana! Hibachi is nice if you enjoy absolutely everything tasting like garlic butter and being an entertained guest! The owners have another location in Miami!

Larissa L.

Yelp
Great for the neighborhood. 'American' style sushi rolls and hibachi. We like the Sunday roll the best without the fake crab. I just wish that they had the option to upgrade to real crab in the sushi rolls. But since they don't I just get it taken out. Pretty drinks

Stacey S.

Yelp
I love this Hibachi Steakhouse the food was delicious and our service was excellent. The decor was cute nice place to take photos. I would recommend making reservations.

Nicole J.

Yelp
Been here a few times. Solid choice for a hibachi dinner especially in this area. Food is good and drinks are well balanced! Today we had the Hot Cheeto Roll! What is that??? Crazy!! But it was actually good. Just a spicy Cali with hot Cheetos. The kid loved it!! My service was great. Such an attentive waitress, Nora. She was great!

Shelby A.

Yelp
This spot is AMAZING! We came on a Tuesday, which is the day where the half off sushi and sake is featured. We started with the truffle fries which were amazing. Very light seasoning on the fries themselves which was perfect, and it came with truffle sauce and ketchup. So good!! Tried a spicy Cali roll to start, then got three specialty rolls. Everything was just incredible! Very fresh tasting. The lightly fried texture was perfect on the Las Vegas roll. The spice level for all rolls was incredibly mild, definitely didn't seem spicy (but I personally love lots of spice). We will definitely be back! Loved the ambiance, the patio looks incredible, but didn't appear to be open yet. Everyone was very responsive and on top of ensuring all needs were met without being too much. Tip is added to each tab which was perfect. They make sure to point this out at every opportunity. Really nice and convenient!

Ketan S.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem for party goers and night lovers! They had a full-on Night club vibe with music, people dancing and having a blast including the chefs that came to the hibachi. They have a full course menu. Great sushi options! When we drove in they valet parked our car for free. I would definitely visit again when I am in a mood to partyyy!!

Danny D.

Yelp
Terrible customer and rude management and waitress was very rude and was standing in front of us holding her hip like she owned the place and she looked at us with a crazy voice and said is there a problem manager was a jerk was not understanding or trying to improve my experience while eating hibachi and was trying to cheat the bill and was complaining that if I do that every restaurant

Natalie N.

Yelp
The chef put on an entertaining show while cooking, which added to the experience. Portions were generous, leaving us satisfied.

Kaito

Yelp
Horrible. I came here for my birthday and they gave me a sign, but they gave away my cale, from here on, they shall not take in outside food, do not come here if your bringing food like cake, ice cream, etc.

Kyria B.

Yelp
OMG! I had so much fun at this restaurant! The cook made the experience The food taste like any other Japanese steak house the drinks were good! The service was excellent! And the vibe was a vibe!

Ebenezer's Anni L.

Yelp
Starting off with valet only parking should have gave me an idea about the evening. Being sat too close with another party at the hibachi grill table only added to it. Not requiring masks in a middle of the raising cases of COVID-19, finished it. The food and service was average at best. Warmed up well with my added sauce since they didn't give you enough. It was smaller than other hibachi places I have been. With average food and lack of Covid safety taking off a star, I will not be back.

Soss M.

Yelp
I feel like this place is hit or miss and u just don't know what your going to get.. but after seeing my order today it's very likely I won't be eating here again. I'm not even one to complain but when ur spending a nice amount of money on a GOOD dinner, it should be GOOD. I ordered carry out ; the filet and shrimp hibachi, specifically stated WELL DONE; NO PINK.... My steak was disgustingly pink. I'll include photos below.. and then the salad ?! I couldn't believe they would even serve such lettuce when ur spending the amount we spent.... Very turned off by the whole dinner/customer service. Wasn't edible. They did offer a refund and a half ass apology but now the question AGAIN is.... What's for dinner?

Jeff P.

Yelp
Pros: Good music and ambience Cons: taste and quality of the food Suggest you invest in better chefs and better quality food. I will not be back. Decide whether you want to be a bar or a hibachi grill and be good at it. Half assing both isn't great!

Tyesha C.

Yelp
We were a party of 3 and we arrived on time. However we had waited 30 minutes to get seated and once we did our server Inkka was unprofessional. She didn't give us enough time to give her answers to the questions she asked. She didn't give any information about the menu; if anything she told us the fried rice was a up charge. She barely came by to see if we needed anything. When the food was finished she came and gave all of us togo boxes/bags. This was my first time here, the food was great and atmosphere was electrifying! However, to place an automatic 20% gratuity on the bill makes these servers feel they can treat people any type of way since they're guaranteed a tip. I will be back but Inkka will not be my server of choice.

Dee C.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere was good. Service was okay. Our waiter was not personable at all. He did what was expected of him. I took off two stars because my group was forced to split one bill. Many restaurants do this. I absolutely DESPISE this practice. It is just plan laziness on the part of the business. Don't force your customers to do your work. Give everyone a separate bill. This practice financially binds diners to each other regardless if you are familiar with everyone at the dinner. I asked if the bill can be split and was told It was not possible. So, we all sat at the table trying to figure out who ordered what. Our waiter smart ass, commented " Don't you know what you ordered?". Of course I know what I ordered. A few people had drinks. I should not have to split the bill for their drinks. Finally, I charged it on my card and everyone reimbursed me. Of course, someone in the group shorted me on the gratuity. The lesson learned, bring cash!

Sophia J.

Yelp
I went to Nara for my mother in law birthday and i have a waiter who service was horrible and just plane disrespect. I simply asked about a song request for the sign i paid which other people paid for but the table across from us was able to pick a song so my table decided to ask how do we get a song and she said we had to pay for it so we asked how much and she said she didn't know and had basically had an issue with us asking her about the song. So we decided to ask the dj and he said you don't have to pay for the song so the waiter basically lied about paying for the song she also proceeded to get her manager to explain it but got more hostile over the situation. The restaurant was decent but the service was horrible and i do not recommend this place if it is jammed packed.

Krystle G.

Yelp
Our favorite Hibachu spot. They have a rewards program that is awesome. Food is so good, large portions and fun. We go for bdays. Servers are awesome. Great ambiance, supper fun experience. Price is around $40 per person for hibachi.

Angelique w.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing we went in on the regular side not hibachi because you have to make reservations but overall the experience was good and the food was amazing. Service was pretty descent and the ambiance of the place was beautiful

Nat M.

Yelp
Really love this place. The ambience, so much yummy food, and staff is awesome. Sushi is so fresh and delicious.

Paul Z.

Yelp
Always great food. We get carry out from here. Great service from the staff. Thank you Nicole and Cameron for always so nice to deal with.

Cara B.

Yelp
I am not mad at Nara -- at all. I like this place, a lot actually. *sigh* But I'll dissect the four star rating. Our waiter seemed very inexperienced. My beau and I ordered double shots of 1738 -- one on the rocks, the other 'neat'. For chasers, we order sprite and coke. Our waiter, had the bartender mix our shots with our pop. Why? I have no clue. I know this seems petty, but at $20 a shot, I just want things done right *shrug* Our hibachi chef was awesome! He was hilarious and personable, but he wasn't conscientious either. Constantly mixing up our meal, with another family's. At one point, he plated my boyfriend a plate of noodles... after he'd verbalized that he didn't noodles. The chef also forgot that I'd ordered two sides of veggie fried rice and I had to get what was left over because of this mistake. But on to the good stuff... this place is a nice vibe. Perfect for date night, or any other occasion. It's decorated beautifully, the Japanese cherry blossoms throughout are a cute touch (my fave!). The food is delicious but the service is just okay. I would give them another shot though!

Kimberly G.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place. The food and service is magnificent. And if you want to get seated at the hibachi grill, you best make reservations and get there no later than 4p.

Devan K.

Yelp
Have made multiple reservations here and each time I wait 45 mins past the reservation time and am never seated and up leaving. Don't take reservations if you can't seat people. Go else where if you value your time.

Tee P.

Yelp
The only good thing here was my shrimp tempura roll. I ordered chicken and shrimp hibachi and it was terrible! No flavor! I ordered a glass of Riesling wine and I'm 100% sure the bartender gave me some kinda of moscato. I ordered a chilled shot of Don. My shot was mostly WATER. I'm not a drinker but when I do, it's tequila. It was so bad that I took a sip of my water and then my shot...both tasted the same. This place is more of a Tik Tok hyped spot. Definitely isn't worth h the money.

Jeffrey G.

Yelp
Price vs value just is not there. Service was good Food was ok Cost was incredibly high.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Came for half off sushi. Waited an hour for our sushi. Place was empty. Zero excuse for this. 20%tip automatically included which is so wrong. Will NEVER come here again. AVOID. Service is terrible !!!!!!!!

Julia P.

Yelp
I never write reviews but had such an unpleasant experience here that this warranted my first one ever. Please guys, do yourself a favor and skip this place. This felt like a scam from start to finish. They will start off your night with forcing you into paid valet or else you have to go park over at the bank parking lot and walk over to the restaurant from there. Mind you, they had more than enough parking spaces left and had blocked off the lot in such a ridiculous way that it was difficult to even get back out again. Totally unnecessary money grab right off the bat. Then we get in there and our full party of 6 sits and waits 45 minutes for a table when we already have a reservation that I made over a week in advance. I felt as though we were being held hostage as we would have left to go somewhere else but their policy is to charge $25/person for any cancellations within 24 hours of reservation date so we literally could not leave unless I wanted to throw away $150. I ask if we can be compensated for our time and we are given a few free apps which was much appreciated but the service continue to be poor throughout the night. Waitress had to be told by our hibachi chef multiple times to clear the table and she would disappear for long periods of time while our drinks remained empty. Then at the end of night she refused to split the $600 bill in any way. Mind you they also include 20% gratuity on every bill which would have been fine if it was actually justified with good service. Sadly the food/drinks didn't carry the evening either as they were very average. Ambiance is also VERY loud and club-like if that's what you're into. All in all I felt like this place took themselves too seriously, treated their patrons like piggy banks and didn't follow through with quality service. Definitely take your business elsewhere.

Ilia K.

Yelp
Excellent ambiance and food, however awfully mismanaged. Manager should resign yesterday.. ! Got reservations for two people and still waited for 30 min to be seated. There were another 20 people sitting outside waiting to be seated too. What a disgrace! Never happened in busy restaurants in big cities that i have dined in

Rosaria G.

Yelp
Very mediocre restaurant, all of our meals came out 10 minutes apart. Literally one after another, after one person would finish their meal, the next meal would come out. Very strange. The food was good but nothing special where I'd be back considering service was bad

Rosanne F.

Yelp
We are frequent dinners at Nara. Last night we had a 7:00 reservation in the lounge. We were seated immediately. Five of us ordered Hibachi, my husband ordered two small plates. My husbands first dish arrived at 7:40. His second dish came out at 7:50. Hibachi dinners started coming a half hour later at 8:20 all lukewarm not hot. Four dinners were missing fried rice and that didn't arrive until 8:30. It actually wasn't fried rice at all, simply cooked rice with cold raw chopped veggies on top. They couldn't take the time to cook and serve the meals properly after 1 1/2 hours. This is the second disappointing dinner in a month. We will not be going back.

Janae G.

Yelp
I really love the mood and setting of this restaurant the decor is beautiful & the food is true hibachi!

Yelp
We were spaced out at a table. They gave us paper menus, which seemed like less offerings then the food pics on here. So glad we are not at the table next to us, it was completely full. Started off with crab Rangoon, because why not. Also ordered a spicy California roll with cream cheese and scallions added inside as well. The crab Rangoon looked a bit too cooked for me, the cream cheese is not smooth, it had the consistency of cottage cheese, was devoid of any crab and has to be the worst crab Rangoon I have ever eaten. The sweet chili was not my favorite here either. We ordered the chicken and salmon and the salmon and scallops combos with the fried rice, one upgrade to the miso soup. The California roll look okay, happy to see they use the light colored ginger at least and not that pink one. The cream cheese block as expected in the roll was so smooth, the very cheese and smoothness I expected from the crab Rangoon. The California roll was good. We did have to ask our waitress twice for sriracha as I prefer my rolls with this condiment. Our hibachi chef double checked our food order with us. He's dolling out our teriyaki, hot mustard and the yum yum sauce. Our fried rice and our fried noodles were out before our soup or salad, no sign of either coming anytime soon. Our hibachi chef, Jimmy is quick and good. He put on a good show for us today. Our waitress is slow and not on the ball at all. She didn't make sure we got our soup or salad before our rice and noodles were done. We ended up flagging down the manager, since our waitress was busy with other guests at the other side of the table that had recently been seated. The manager at least made sure our side of the table got our soups and salads as we were getting our proteins plated. He couldn't believe we hadn't received our soup or salad either. This wasn't our first hibachi. Our waitress in her haste brought us the onion and mushroom soups. I had to remind her that I had asked for miso soup, she brought it to me a short time later. Our hibachi chef was good, he has some skill flipping an egg on his spatula and cracking it perfectly on the side of his spatula too. Our waitress was nice enough, but she might have been overwhelmed with all of the people at our table. The food and sauces here overall were sub-par. None of the sauces were great with the chicken, salmon, scallops, shrimp or veggies for me. The yum yum sauce seems like a misnomer as it wasn't yummy to me at all. They were busy tonight, it seemed it was more about getting people in and out and not giving guests decent service. For the price, it definitely wasn't worth it. I have had better experiences at many other hibachi and teppanyaki places, even in Japan. The best part about our night was Jimmy, the food and the rest of the service left much to be desired.

Yelp
Came on a Wednesday night and waited a half hour since we didn't have a reservation. No problem though - shots and drinks at the bar made up for the wait. The green tea shots were great and the shot glasses weren't like the overly big ones that I'd consider more of a glass. My mojito was strong and perfect. And my friends Jameson with ginger ale was tasty. The hibachi was amazing. I love a good hibachi and my last two experiences for hibachi weren't all that so this was a nice adjustment. The salad was pretty good, not the best ginger salad I've had (the ginger dressing is sort of like a ranch) and the miso was with beef broth and I don't actually think it was the typical miso soup that comes with the hibachi. I still ate it nonetheless, but it just wasn't my favorite. I ordered the vegetable hibachi with fried rice. So yummy! My friend ordered the filet, chicken, and shrimp hibachi. All meats were delicious. The fried rice was awesome too, but I wish they added peas and carrots like other hibachi places. I really like how there are three sauces included on the side - spicy mustard, ginger, and yum yum. Since it was my friends birthday, he got a free ice cream with a sparkler candle and the staff sang happy birthday. Would come back!
