We were spaced out at a table. They gave us paper menus, which seemed like less offerings then the food pics on here. So glad we are not at the table next to us, it was completely full.
Started off with crab Rangoon, because why not. Also ordered a spicy California roll with cream cheese and scallions added inside as well.
The crab Rangoon looked a bit too cooked for me, the cream cheese is not smooth, it had the consistency of cottage cheese, was devoid of any crab and has to be the worst crab Rangoon I have ever eaten. The sweet chili was not my favorite here either.
We ordered the chicken and salmon and the salmon and scallops combos with the fried rice, one upgrade to the miso soup.
The California roll look okay, happy to see they use the light colored ginger at least and not that pink one. The cream cheese block as expected in the roll was so smooth, the very cheese and smoothness I expected from the crab Rangoon. The California roll was good. We did have to ask our waitress twice for sriracha as I prefer my rolls with this condiment.
Our hibachi chef double checked our food order with us. He's dolling out our teriyaki, hot mustard and the yum yum sauce.
Our fried rice and our fried noodles were out before our soup or salad, no sign of either coming anytime soon.
Our hibachi chef, Jimmy is quick and good. He put on a good show for us today.
Our waitress is slow and not on the ball at all. She didn't make sure we got our soup or salad before our rice and noodles were done. We ended up flagging down the manager, since our waitress was busy with other guests at the other side of the table that had recently been seated. The manager at least made sure our side of the table got our soups and salads as we were getting our proteins plated. He couldn't believe we hadn't received our soup or salad either. This wasn't our first hibachi.
Our waitress in her haste brought us the onion and mushroom soups. I had to remind her that I had asked for miso soup, she brought it to me a short time later.
Our hibachi chef was good, he has some skill flipping an egg on his spatula and cracking it perfectly on the side of his spatula too. Our waitress was nice enough, but she might have been overwhelmed with all of the people at our table.
The food and sauces here overall were sub-par.
None of the sauces were great with the chicken, salmon, scallops, shrimp or veggies for me. The yum yum sauce seems like a misnomer as it wasn't yummy to me at all.
They were busy tonight, it seemed it was more about getting people in and out and not giving guests decent service.
For the price, it definitely wasn't worth it. I have had better experiences at many other hibachi and teppanyaki places, even in Japan.
The best part about our night was Jimmy, the food and the rest of the service left much to be desired.
